The food is not worth what the menu shows. It is in a nice place, but you are paying for something you can get for free (nice view). The food took 1 hour for a burger and a quesadilla and the server was not attentive. I would like to think that they were short handed that day because it would not explain how they are still in business with such prices and service. Walked-in on a Sunday evening with my husband and brother-in-law. Went to the second floor and began looking for a table. There were two open tables, but piled high with dirty dishes. So we decided to sit at the bar where it, while still dirty, had only a handful of glasses and bottles around it. We sat for a few minutes with no acknowledgement and finaly asked asked one of the two bartenders for a towel. The male bartender grabbed a towel and hastily wiped only in front of my husband, but left all the empty gasses and bottles and Went back to what he was doing before. I told him "this isn't going to work" and was ignored. We decided it would be in our best interest to find another restaurant. Lovely breakfast and brunch on a rainy, gray Sunday morning. I got coconut shrimp and husband got the yummy BLT. Both delicious. We enjoyed ourselves tremendously. I have three suggestions. For the bottomless mimosa: you could charge more for these two additions. Fresh squeezed orange juice... Taste totally different. And/or pomegranate juice with champagne. For those who like the sweet, tart taste. Personally I would pay $25 for a bottomless of either of those. Second suggestion, for misty evenings and or rainy days. Have a pile of freshly laundered beach towels for people to put over their shoulders and or lap. Not for use on the beach, but for use in the restaurant to be warm in this lovely outdoor space. A suggestion to secure the lovely big beach peels is to take a drivers license, so the beach towels will not disappear down the beach. Amazon has some lovely rainbow colored striped towels that would be perfect. I think five or 6 for $25? Not sure. All in all it was a lovely rainy morning with delicious food. Absolutely disgusting place!!!!! $100 for 3 sandwiches and 3 drinks. I should have known it was gonna be a terrible experience when we sat down and there were SEVERAL tables that hadn't been cleaned. These tables all had plates that were half eaten too. That's a dead giveaway. I ordered a chicken sandwich and the chicken breast was sliced widthwise so thin, less than 1/8 of an inch, in order to stretch it enough to fill the whole sandwich. That and the stale bread and mounds of lettuce on it were ridiculous! TOURIST TRAP FOLKS!!!!!!! Stay away at all cost! This place is so filthy too! Piles of trash everywhere! I never review restaurants- I'm reviewing this one out of a civic duty so other people don't waste their time and money. The staff was friendly enough. View is beautiful. But this is clearly a dive bar and come morning, it's not clean, vomit/etc all over the bathroom and toilet. Garbage juice (like legit garbage juice, like in a dumpster) is all over the floors. The food is terrible. Egg beaters, the cheapest OJ you can imagine, and truly undrinkable coffee. My family can't stop talking about how terrible and smelly and gross it was. read more

Ordered kids chicken tenders - looked gross when you took a bite. Low quality fries. Quesadillas were good... Outside of that, It's a nice setting... I'd say go if you're just going for some drinks. First let me just say I love the restaurant scene here in Brevard and most of my reviews are five star. I enjoy coming on Yelp and praising people for the awesome work they do. Unfortunately, though, sometimes as a customer you have an experience so lousy that you have to write about it. Not just to warn other customers, but to hope the restaurant learns and gets its act together. This is one of those reviews. My family and I came to Sand on the Beach today for lunch, five of us. Settled in, ordered a beer and it was warm. It didn't get warm; it was warm when it arrived. That should have been a warning sign. When we ordered, any small request was immediately rejected. "Can you do one mahi taco and one tuna instead of two the same?" No. "Can you do the wings in all flats?" No. Some places have a pro-customer mindset where they are ruthlessly devoted to service (which is why they thrive). This place does not. It's their way or the highway. So we ordered: buffalo wings appetizer, two orders of fish tacos, a grilled cheese, a burger and a chicken sandwich. Simple, quick-to-fry stuff they make at most places. Nothing crazy. It was 45 MINUTES between the time we ordered and the time the appetizer showed up. Just one order of wings. The manager came over to apologize, but didn't offer to comp the wings or anything. The waiter later said one of their cooks had quit that day, hence the slow service. That is something you have to tell customers upfront, because not every person has an entire afternoon to waste accounting for your missing cook. When the food came 15 more minutes later, nearly everything was cold. The portions were tiny (hardly any fish in the tacos). The chicken was bland and dry. My burger had no toppings. I asked the waiter "May I please have some burger toppings like onions, ketchup and mustard?" he brought back only ketchup. I was never asked how I wanted the burger cooked or anything like that. The price we were charged for one of the sandwiches did not match the price on the menu, and a side we substituted was put in as an upcharge (even though both sides came out). Not once did anyone with the restaurant offer to take anything off the check. They apparently believe half effort deserves full price. It was a total service meltdown. As we were leaving, I spotted one of the employees drinking alcohol behind the bar. Super unprofessional. Had I done that back when I was in food service, my ass would have gotten canned ASAP. This is a place that relies highly on their nice location and seems to no longer believe in putting in any effort to please their customers. They just assume being on the beach will bring business automatically, probably from tourists or whatever. It is sad to see such an amazing location being taken for granted by people who don't seem to care about their customers. With all the other awesome options in Brevard, we won't be going back. read more

We had dinner at this restaurant for the first time. NEVER AGAIN! Absolute disappointment. We ordered a Shrimp Poke Bowl and Sriracha Chicken Bowl, both around $24. The servings were very small portions, hardly any shrimp or chicken. The red cherry tomatoes and avocado in the shrimp bowl were old and too ripe. Mushy to be exactly. Third time at this location with subpar service. . Last night went to see the moon rise. One of the best locations for beach view from second level in the country. Unthought the serve was pleasant the Service upstairs was poor. Waited a while for a beer, then waited for the server to return for 20 minutes, while see took orders from others along the rail and served them. My beer came in a timely manner but my girlfriend had to go to the bar to get hers 15 minutes later. Fish-dip was $14 and looked like ground wet tuna fish. Worst I've ever had !!!! Very disappointed. We have eaten here numerous times over the last 10 years, but due to Covid, it has been since March that I have been there. The restaurant was very dirty. The chairs, tables, floors had dirt that was encrusted all over them. I know it's on the beach but I live on the beach and this is just being lazy and not cleaning anything. Only one wait staff had a mask on, and it was below his nose. When the tables were cleared then were not cleaned. The old plates were taken but the tables were not wiped down. I witnessed this with two different tables. My burger and my wife's BLT were good but my sweet potato fries were cold and had to be sent back (and I never do that). I know restaurants are having a bad time but that is no excuse. Sorry but my recondition is DO NOT eat there. read more

Came to Sands for breakfast for the first time and was pretty impressed upon walking it. They are right on the beach with views from almost anywhere you are sitting. They also have a full bar with all the fixings. Looked over the breakfast menu and nothing really stuck out, mostly just your standard breakfast options. The lunch menu looked better in my opinion but we were that early (around 830am on a Saturday) so I just stuck with breakfast. I ordered the Biscuits and Gravy with a fried egg. I will say for dining on the beach prices were not crazy which was nice and $10 for my meal. The Biscuits and Gravy was good not great nothing I would brag about at least. The top have of the Biscuits were nice and fluffy but the bottom half were over cooked and tough at the bottom. All and all service was good but food was just OK. Most likely will return since my parents have now made Melbourne Beach their home and sands is a quick walk away and has a nice atmosphere. Plus I want to try out their lunch menu and grab a drink sometime. read more

Went here to try it out for the first time. The view was what brought us here, and a reason for 1 of the stars. It took over an hour to get our food, it was not unusually busy, and we ordered sandwiches, tacos, and wings. In total dinner took an hour and a half. Would not recommend going here for a first date, because if it gets awkward you may be stuck there for a while. The chicken caprese sandwich was good. The sweet potato fries are waffle cut and they were great! Hence the reason for the second star. The mahi tacos were average, only say so because there was not a lot of meat in the tacos so not super filling. The garlic parmesan wings were not good at all. It was wings with Parmesan flakes sprinkled on them (which do not melt) and garlic chunks all over the plate (not on the actual wings). So you end up eating just plain wings. Run. Seriously, run the other way. Don't waste your money here. The only genuine perk of this place is it is located on the beach. Drinks were so generic and cheaply made. We got there at about 9 on a Friday night while we were in town for a wedding and a family member who lived in Melbourne recommended it as a place we could grab food on the beach. So they close the bar at 10 on a Friday night too. That's a bummer for what we expected. The weirdest part of the whole thing was the bartender. As someone who works in the ER on nights, I've seen my fair share of tweakers and this guy, he was definitely high as a kite on something. More bizarre, was that management was right there and seemed to be naive to it. We opted out of actually eating food here since it took someone 10 mins to come to our table after the manager himself sat us in the nearly empty patio. The only other customers eating were a couple in front of us. As we browsed the menu for what we'd hoped was great seafood, the couple in front of us had such a bad experience that they were speaking with the manager about comping the meal. So what I'd recommend is stop by the beach but then head to this restaurants sister location, the tavern about a mile back toward downtown where they had great food and service. read more
