This is by far the prettiest spot i've been to in Melbourne. The decor is beautiful, with indoor and out door seating, and a bar. But food is very over priced. Half the calamari was crunchy, half was soggy. I've never seen big clumps of blue cheese in calamari before. The $26 pasta was good, but the amount of olives overtook the dish so it tasted like olive pasta. The small side of chicken was $14.... 5 tiny pieces of bread was $3.50. Divey little bar and good ahi tuna tacos. Husband and I shared the tacos and they are light, kind of smoky spice on the seared part. Very tasty and just enough toppings. Wazi is a very friendly bartender. She chatted with us and told us about the town and surroundings. Love the display of premium tequilas. The ambiance is small and simple. Clean bathrooms. The service was very poor. Our waitress took our order then proceeded to go tend the bar and never came back to our table after brining our drinks. Drinks took about 15 minutes. We ordered our dinner at the same time as drinks. After 40 minutes of waiting for our food we pulled the plug and decided to leave. We inquired as to what the delay was and got no answer. We visit my grandpa every year and when we go to Melbourne, we love going here. The staff is so laid back, but attentive. The food is delicious and they offer great drinks. It's right off of the beach and has a great environment. I'd say it's a hidden gem, check it out! read more

I'm really giving it a 3.5 but it's not an option. A few reasons I can't give this place a 4. One being a mule is $12. Two the place is really warm, there's little to no circulation. I do enjoy the food, ambience, and friendly bartenders. They've also improved their menu. You can't go wrong ordering the brussel sprouts! I can't wait to try the fish tacos. Biding my time here while keeping away from the supremely hot weather. Saturday afternoon and only a few people inside, as I was able to secure a seat at the bar. Craft beer list is actually diverse, as several local taps are prominent up front. Settled on an IPA ($6) as well as the Pork Belly Poutine ($9). Meal shows up after 15 minutes - a handful of crisped fries with mozzarella cheese, chives, and pork belly on top. No sign of gravy or cheese curds, so this is more like "cheese fries with pork belly on top". Despite the inappropriate name, the fries were good, but the pork belly was better. Sweet and spicy sauce on top really brought everything together. Bartender is super friendly and even gave recommendations for other bars in the area. Limited outside seating as well if you want to drink outdoors for a bit. read more

This happened on 10/18/22 at 3:30pm. Stopped to have a couple of beers at this place after riding my motorcycle from work in the rain and immediately got a vibe that said I'm an outsider. I'm local and have been at this establishment numerous times and have had for the most part a solid experience. But I had to flag down the little blond bartender this time and ask her for napkins and a beer bc I was soaking wet (5 people at the bar maybe). I finished my beer and realized she wasn't going to pay attention after 5-10 min so I walked to her and asked her for another beer and a check (she was playing with her phone). I tipped her 40% and didn't even get a thank you... The entitlement was crazy and I'm definitely going to think twice about going back to this place. The sweet potato fries were probably the best I've ever had and the salmon dish was delicious and paired perfectly with the mashed potatoes and Brussel sprouts. The beer was cold and the atmosphere was fun. Not the cleanest place in town, could use a little sprucing up here and there. It's very casual and seemed like a locals kind of place. We both had their blackened shrimp tacos; I definitely recommend them! My mate loved them but wasn't completely full afterwards. I was good but I think maybe sone chips and salsa on the side might be a good addition. I only saw one worker the whole time (the bartender) but he was kicking butt and handling things...and was good looking to boot! Arrived around 9:30pm on a Sunday for dinner... my group of 9 spring breakers took a while to get out the door (and this was one of few late-night options located not too far away from our vacation home). There were a few other groups at the dive spot, and I did like the overall casual, yet cool atmosphere. There is outdoor seating available too which is nice during warm evenings. My group was able to snag a large table and ordered a few drinks throughout the evening. They were out of a couple cocktail ingredients (berries and basil) as well as food ingredients, eliminating a handful of beverage and dinner options. I asked our waitress/bartender if I could order a French 75 and she said she could make one. The drink I received was definitely not a French 75 and I didn't care for it much so that was a bit of a bummer... and it was $10 so not exactly cheap. (A French 75 contains gin, fresh lemon juice, simple syrup, and Prosecco served in a flute. The beverage I received was served in a flute with bubbles of some sort but there wasn't any detectable lemon. There was a sweet cocktail cherry in the lemon's place which made the drink sweeter. It also wasn't cold. Oh well.) For food I ordered the Fish-N-Chips, since thats usually a safe bet. The Fish-N-Chips ($12.95) includes 2 pieces of beer battered Haddock, "hand-cut" fries, and tartar. I'd say the dish was pretty average. I suppose I'm a little spoiled with halibut and chips available in the Seattle area. At least it came out reasonably warm and the serving size was decent. The tartar seemed to contain a lot of dill and wasn't like other tartars I've had before, but it was edible and tasted good with a bit of ketchup between bites. My boyfriend ordered a burger which was on the smaller side and didn't come with fries. Overall everyone at the table enjoyed the atmosphere/decor and liked certain food items while other menu selections weren't too great. Our waitress did ask us what music we wanted to listen to after a bit making the experience more fun and enjoyable. Can't say no to some old-school pop R&B! I'd recommend visiting this spot for a standard drink or two, plus maybe some fries. read more

Stopped here tonight the Manager was a young man name Ryan he had an awesome personality and recommended the Brussels Sprouts and I was craving French onion soup both were exceptional the place has a real hip vibe and there is an awesome fire pit and I used the restroom and it had a very unique feel I was watching the servers bring meals out and one looked better than the other. We started out down at the beach bar which is the sister location of this place but we're completely underwhelmed by the worst service and terrible drinks. On our way back to our hotel, we stumbled upon this place as somewhere we could eat about 1030pm on a Friday night. It was such a welcomed surprise by their drinks, great service at the hightop inside by the bar, and many of the dishes they make being homemade. We went about a month ago now when we were in town for a wedding but what I remember were the great poutine, pork belly Mac & cheese, and the ahi tuna. All were solid! So if you're in town and need a good late night spot or a layed back comfort bar food, I'd highly recommend this place. read more

I'm surprised he isn't cooking as well. He did a great job. Kept up with things for the most part kept a good attitude as well. The food .... Not very good. I've been here twice now and I have to say I'm pretty impressed. Food has been great both times, and without even breaking the bank! Their draft selection is pretty good, but I have come across the problem with them being out of something. I am usually a bit put off with Djon's restaurants, but I have to say this one is winning me over so far. The Tavern burger is amazing, I have gotten it both times I've been now. The "secret sauce" they use is delicious, and for $5.95 you really can't beat the price. I did consider ordering something else from the menu today, but the Tavern burger was just so damn good the first time I had to have it again. Although I wouldn't mind a little bit more variety when it comes to their sandwich options. I also ordered the deviled eggs again for an appetizer while my mom ordered their Tuna salad. The deviled eggs are topped with sriracha and were delicious. The Tuna salad looked good as well and my mom enjoyed it, but it did seem to be a bit on the petite side compared to others I have seen. What really does it for me about this place is the atmosphere. They nailed it. It's very rustic and very cool. They have great seating options outside and inside, and even a long sofa on one side if you're in the mood to just relax and have a drink. My only complaint was the first time I did sit there, I got a little wet due to pouring rain and a leaky roof. Typical Florida. I will be back!
