3 stars and I'm being forgiving. Lady took 3 phone orders that came in AFTER we walked in to order. Rude Crab extremers were store bought little mozzarella looking triangles. Not good. Don't make the mistake of asking for tarter sauce on the side.... you won't get any. Dry perch sandwich with browning wilted lettuce was mediocre at best. At least the jar coleslaw added some moisture to the sandwich. Meh, at least I could get a Guinness to go. read more

NOT EZ in EZ out. The Sandbar is St. Joe's best dive bar! The bartender is generally rude and won't serve you until walking by you 3 times looking like he has nothing else to do. Beer isn't outrageously priced and they serve Coors Light among other good beers! They'll most likely give your girlfriend a vodka soda if she asks for tequila (bummer). Bonus points to the grandmas dancing at live music night and other good people watching! I can't speak for the food but I've heard it's generally good! read more

Came here for karaoke tonight with the bestie and husband. He was hungry so ordered a burger and fries before the kitchen closed. During the night we got multiple different drinks. The bartenders are awesome and courteous. The bar does tend to get crowded and a little rowdy during karaoke. Last time some ladies were dancing with my husband while he was singing. I think he was more uncomfortable with it than I was. I will continue to come here for bar burgers and karaoke. read more

Stopped by the Sandbar on a visit back to St Joe. We used to live there while working nearby. Absolutely loved it and stopping by the Sandbar for a Cowboy burger and sweet potato fries was something we did often. My wife and I were camping nearby and checked this place out on a chance. We would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for some super delicious food. This is a very typical sports oriented bar with outstanding food and great service. The bartender was really helpful with finding a local craft beer to drink. My wife had the Rueben and said it was the best one she has ever had. I had the black and blue burger and it was absolutely one of the top burgers I have ever eaten, and was cooked perfectly! I was pleasantly surprised for a bar that this place had a wonderful Mandarin Chicken Salad. I had the salad without the chicken at a reduced price. This is nice as most places won't change there price and those tend to be the places that I won't come back to. I also had the black bean burger, Swiss cheese, lettuce with onions. I'm hoping to move to the area and so know I need to find "my bar". From the outside you think you're going into a half built house but it's actually quite lovely and cozy inside. Service is a big thing on my list and it was great. Bartender test, a Long Island. Passed the test. I was only stopping for an appetizer because I had dinner plans. I ordered the corn and jalapeño bites. Was kindly told a short time later that they were out but the spicy fried green beans were recommended. Absolutely delicious. So comfy place with good service. The food here is pretty good. We tried the mini corndogs, 2 flavors of wings, burgers, and sweet potato fries. There are not many good wing places around and these were perfectly crispy. Our server was great. I do wish there were some kind of drink menu but overall we loved it. read more

Y'all!! this place is SO damn good AND welcoming is an understatement. Oir server Tom, the owner, took great care of us, offered great recommendations and even came and talked with us. We stopped on our way home to St. Louis after traveling to Detroit to lay our father to rest and this stop was LITERALLY a breath of fresh air. Toms wife Beth was so warm and offered us help too; Tom was so generous he even offered to get us a hotel...like what! good people DO exist! we had to kindly decline as we have to get home to our families but they graciously gave us some Red Bull to stay up on our 5.5 hour drive back to St. Louis. Even aside from the generosity the food is PHENOMENAL! Their kitchen is the only one open late in Saint Joseph so we thought we'd just gram a burger; wrong! They had artisanal salads, great appetizer and sandwiches too! my sisters and I got the Caribbean Salad, Buffalo Chicken Salad and my other sister got a French dip style sandwich. My family if 4 went, and don't be discouraged by the pub style atmosphere. It was pleasant for children and the barmaid was more than welcoming. I can't recall all the meals we had but my son and I both got the fish and chips and it was perfect. read more

Really great little place. We took an Uber recently from the Tesla charging station. Really snowy day and we needed a stop coming back from Chicago to Canada. Great burgers, wide selection of beers and a warm and friendly cozy bar. The staff all were over the top friendly and helpful. I changed my order from smelt to a burger. The waitress and cook were nice enough to include a couple of smelt just so I could see how good they were. Since it was not so nice out, we could not get an uber back to our car. When we asked in the bar if anyone wanted to give us a ride for $10....the owner gave us a ride...for free. I loved this place. read more

Just had to add a few updates. We eat here a few times a month and have never been disappointed. The service is always great and attentive, the food is top notch for a variety of burgers and can change any burger offerings to a veg burger. The sidewinder fries are excellent and whatever I order I get a side of Sriracha Aioli. A lot of the sports games on TV and full bar.
