Be prepared to spend $22+ for a drink, not including the hefty valet fee, and you'll have a mix of attractive people (mostly females), weeknights draws business men at the bar, working gals aka escorts, and groups of people coming there for post work meetings drinks. The staff and service are top notch, or always is! But my husband and I were surprised with Pendry not cracking down on the escorts, it's very obvious and for paying patrons like us who want an upscale hotel for a quick staycation, it's a bit of a distraction and distasteful and put a damper on our view of Pendry. We would expect this at a seedy place but not Newport and definitely not for those prices on drinks, food, valet. We will be back but probably not anytime soon. I often times have to entertain international clients when they are in town and I would be very hesitant taking them to Pendry for dinner and drinks after what I witnessed yesterday. It would be very uncomfortable for a professional setting.

I did not order any food, however, I did order drinks and I thoroughly enjoyed the lychee martini. I didn't talk to the bartenders much, but security and everyone working was nice. They did check IDs and check our bags when we went inside. It was more like a club by the time we entered, but I've heard that earlier on it's a different ambiance. I personally love the club vibes and it's a fun place to go dancing with the girls. I think I prefer it over the club because it's not as crazy. I would definitely go again.

Quality cocktails and food such as Neapolitan-style pizza, albeit a limited beer selection. On weekends and on Thursday nights it turns into a club after 10pm or so, which is fun until or unless it gets so crowded there isn't much room to maneuver around, as a consequence of most of the space being dedicated to VIP seating and there not being much of a dance floor. The music typically tends towards hip hop with some reggaeton sprinkled in. The bathrooms are the real star of the show; call it VIPee. There's about 10 individual unisex bathrooms with their own doors, rather than a girl's and guy's group setup. It's managed by a vigilant attendant guiding you to the next available vacancy. And no, they don't let you bring anyone in with you--or so I've heard.

If you have some time while browsing The Lab during the day, I recommend stopping by for a drink! It's also nice to include in your barhopping itinerary in the evening since there are a number of breweries around too. I've had mixed experiences with the bartenders. Luckily, the gentleman manning the bar during my most recent visit was very friendly. Drinks are always great. I've tried a variety of drinks from the menu here, but my favorites are: -Love in Drunk, a lovely cocktail with cucumber and grapefruit flavors that create a fresh watermelon taste when mixed together -Bee's Knees, short but strong and sweet -London Mule, very herbal thanks to the gin and very refreshing

The drink menu had a lot of unique cocktails on it which I thought was pretty cool. I went for this cocktail called the purple pancake and it ended up being delicious. My boyfriend ordered a pickled margarita which he liked. I was very happy with the lobster roll I ordered it was divine. Overall I would come back, I enjoyed my time here. Cocktails are about $20 each.

My friend and I both got the autumn salad: mine with a crab cake, hers with steak. Another friend ordered the steak and fries. My salad was fantastic, and the crab cake (both as a topping and as a starter) was a hit across the table. Everyone was happy with their food. Cocktails: The current theme is classic cocktails, and the space definitely leans into that old school martini bar vibe, very classy. Drinks were solid. I ordered the mango cocktail (can't remember the name) and it was a little on the sweet side, but not overly so. Still enjoyable. Service: This is really why I'm writing the update. Erica was our server and she was AWESOME. She noticed my friend's steak was overcooked and immediately replaced it even though he said he'd eat it because he was starving. That kind of attention and care is rare. Someone please give her a raise. Parking: They validate if you park in the Marriott lot Vibe: For a Thursday night, it was surprisingly busy in the lounge, in a good way. Tons of people out and about adding to that chill, lively Thursday evening energy. I loved the blue glow from the outdoor fire pits. Next time, I'm definitely taking my YNK drink outside for a few sips.
