We came with a group of six and had a great time! Everything was well organized, and the games were a lot of fun. The staff was friendly, explained everything, and was always happy to help. Parking was easy, there was cold water available, and having a bar was a nice bonus. We all had a great time and will definitely be back. Highly recommend!

I've done VR quite a few times at different places with different types of experiences, and Sandbox VR was definitely the best so far. I was skeptical that commercial VR could get any better, but as soon as I saw the technology and felt how it worked, my mind was changed. My friends and I did the Squid Games experience, which was more mental than physical but still fun. I'd definitely try a more adventurous experience next.

I first played a VR experience like this back in Tokyo in 2016 and it absolutely blew my mind. I've been chasing that same level of tech ever since, and most VR spots here in the U.S. have been...prettttty lame. Then I found Sandbox VR and WOW. The tech, immersion, and gameplay are next level. Easily the best VR experience I've had outside Japan. My friends and I loved it so much we've already been back 3 times. Every visit has been just as fun as the last, and it's become one of my go to spots for bringing friends and out of town guests. The cherry on top? They send you a free video of your group afterward, which is hilarious and such a cool touch. My only complaint is the price!!!! It's fine if you come to play just one game ($50-60/pp) but it adds up fast if you want to play several games or come regularly. I really wish they'd: 1) Introduce a rewards or loyalty program for repeat guests, and 2) Offer discounted package deals for people who want to play multiple games in one visit If they could tweak the pricing a bit, I'd basically live here. Still, hands down one of the most fun, high quality group experiences around. This isn't just for kids, adults will have an equally good time. On one visit there was a birthday party and it looked like so much fun with a table full of cake and food for the kids to eat in between games. I bet it's a great spot for adult birthday party too, they have a bar!!!! Tip: - You can ask the staff to "turn down the intensity" level for some of the games if that is a concern - budget ~1 hour per game (this includes putting on gear + instruction time) - of the Deadwood games, Phobia was our fave

My 11 year old daughter did the Stranger Things experience with friends. Her review "I would do it again. It was fun. It was just really scary."

This place was amazing and such a fun experience. We booked online, made a reservation and arrived 15 mins early to fill out waivers and get instructions. The staff were welcoming and fun and very helpful with explaining rules and procedures with the technology. We selected the zombie experience and boy was it so fun and realistic. I screamed the whole time, it was scary and downright fun. Because we went for my sisters birthday, they had a screen and a snippet of a birthday party, it was such a nice cute touch to the experience. You are able to sit, lounge, eat and order drinks as they have a bar. I definitely plan on retuning. Parking was a bit confusing but other than that, this place was really fun and enjoyable.

Ricky was freakin awesome. Made the hold time a pleasure. Definitely deserves a raise! The games are awesome! Always recommend!

Always a great time here! Everyone is super friendly and the place is clean. Wes helped us the first time and Ripley helped us the second time. Highly recommend coming here!

My first experience. I planned a birthday party for my 9 year old niece. It was a great decision because everything was amazing. From the easy planning and reservation process to the actual event. We chose a package with two games. 6 kids to a room (we had 12) The staff were ALL terrific. Helpful and efficient. They're especially patient when dealing with the kids, getting them fitted with jackets, goggles and headphones then explaining everything. It was fun to watch the kids enjoy this. We had a designated area and brought in pizza, cake, drinks and gift bags. A fun time was had by all. Our little birthday girl, Kaya said it was her best birthday yet.

My son had a blast at this place, the only down fall was that you pay $57 an hour but 30 mins goes into getting you and your team suited up... so you only have 30 mins to play your VR experience. I feel that you getting suited up should not include your 1 hour play time.

Vests, headsets -- feels super realistic

PSA: if you've tried other VR places, forget them all -- Sandbox VR is so much better! Unlike other places where they may give you a vest and a weapon that allows for tracking in the VR world, Sandoval ALSO gives you individual hand and feet trackers so you feel truly immersed in the VR world. First time I tried one of the Zombie games, and it was amazing! Our whole team of 6 strangers were running around shooting up zombies, ducking, helping tag each other back in -- we were all covered in sweat at the end but we made it! Second time i tried the Squid Game, less running around but I was still covered in sweat at the end, and still extremely fun! All the workers there are very friendly and clearly passionate about VR. The space feels very new and modern, clean bathrooms, and the clean water fountains were well appreciated. You can also buy drinks and snacks. Free 2 hour validated parking. It is a little pricier ($60 per game), but worth it! Can't wait to come back and try other games!

Great experience and activity if you've never done VR. We booked ahead for 2 people for my friends birthday for Amber Sky and they were accommodating because we were running late. They validate parking at the parking lot and when we arrived you can hear everyone screaming playing the zombie game. It's like a theme park virtual experience and super cool. I had some issues focusing but I was able to adjust it. They also serve food at this location! We got some chicken wings and some slushee samples. Jordan was our host and super helpful! Would recommend this activity for the whole family!

We had a blast The experience was totally different than anything any of us had tried before. It was especially cool for my parents who had never tried VR or an escape room before! Those 2 elements along with the immersive role playing from the dedicated moon-base staff made for an exceptionally unique and memorable experience none of us will ever forget I must admit - as someone with professional tech experience, a lifelong passion for science, and some amateur improv chops, this was a bit of a Christmas gift for myself too The fact that I had as good a time as the rest of my family (who don't share those interests in the same way I do) is a testament to how great the experience is. TLDR there's a reason Lunar Light Discovery has a spotless 5.0 rating on both Yelp and Google. If you're on the fence about trying this... let this be your sign to just go for it!!

You were then led into the VR spaceship room, which was the most insane experience! The VR was done so well, and I really enjoyed the immersiveness and the storyline. I actually wish the entire thing could've been VR. I thought the excitement kind of dwindled in the room with the test tubes, and also when we had to go outside to the parking lot to the third section of the experience, which just wasn't as amazing as the beginning. Some points to improve would be a more cohesive storyline, and making a tunnel in the parking lot area so it doesn't break up the visuals. I love escape rooms and the last challenge was pretty elementary, so I can understand that for families but I personally would like a more challenging ending.

I would recommend not taking children under the age of 8 because the rooms require a bit of logic that can be difficult for younger children to understand. If you do decide to bring children under the age of 8 there's only about one or two rooms that you could do over and over with little to no problem. The staff is really great, super nice and accommodating. But again, please bring a water bottle. They have a public water fountain and clean restrooms, but with the lockers you can bring your own water bottle and take breaks to come out and have water without waiting for the fountain line. The system is pretty simple you come in and check in at the front desk. They give you a wristband that is assigned to you once you sign your waiver. This wristband is what you use to scan under the monitor for entry to each room in order to keep track of your score. Your wristband is associated with your phone number or email and then you have an allotted amount of time on your wristband which is typically one hour. You can extend the time by 30 min increments once your time runs out. But usually you're pretty wiped out after an hour. Great as a play date option or birthday parties because the rooms are basically mini games so they only last 2 to 3 minutes so you can split up larger groups and regroup later. They do require minimum two people in each room at any given time. But it's a lot of fun and a really great workout. There is little air conditioning, but good airflow so you will feel the heat, but it's not unbearable at all. They have iPads with scanners where you can check your progress using your wristband and there's a projected leaderboard with live updates. Each room gives an explanation of how the game works before going in so you don't have to really waste time figuring it out. And you have to master each level before going up to the next level so you can't start at level 10 you have to go through levels 1 through 9 in each room. Each room has multiple types of games within the category that you can do so essentially there's about 50 to 70 levels in each room. There is no way you can complete all of the levels in all of the games in every room in one afternoon you will most certainly need to come back.

The types of games here reminded me of Squid Games such as the multicolored floor games. When you arrive, the staff gives you a bracelet that will be used to open the multiple game rooms, track how many points you earn, and also show how much time you have left to play. They have a lot of different games from hide and seek to hoops. The games are interactive with the room itself. There's up to 5 people in each room at a time I believe and you can play as a team or against each other. Great for team-building activities. For parking, since its located at the mall there's plenty of free milk parking. They have lockers to store your belongings. They also have a bathroom and water fountains. Prepare to run and sweat! I would recommend wearing comfortable clothes and shoes and bringing water before visiting here. I will definitely consider hosting my next birthday celebration here!

It's located on the top floor in the Beverly Center Mall, so plenty of parking in the garage. The people working at the front desk were nice, and they provide free lockers for you to store your stuff. The graphics were not mind blowing or amazing, but it was decent. Some areas seemed blurry, and there was a a few breaks in transition from one scene to the next where it would go black. However, when that happened, there would be green arrows that would appear and guide you into the right direction. I never found the experience to be disorienting, but we did feel a bit uncoordinated and cautious when we got to the scene of the grand staircase. We felt like we were going to fall down the "stairs" if we weren't careful. In reality the floor is completely flat, but it definitely looked real. My husband actually grabbed my hand and we started walking "down the stairs" together. It was a hoot of a 'trip'. Overall, the concept is interesting. My husband had never done VR before, so he especially enjoyed it. We loved the idea of being 1st class passengers on the ship and being able to interact with our surroundings. The virtual guide, with all his factoids about the ship and events was educational. It was definitely a different and fun way to experience the history of the Titanic. The thing that bothered me, however, was the noise. You are in this big empty room, and everyone participating in the VR are walking around, so the noise really travels. I wish the workers spent some time ensuring people were not talking so loud because it made it hard to hear what was being said on my headset. I couldn't understand a few tidbits here and there during the storyline which was annoying. All in all, we had fun, but I'm glad I didn't pay full price.

I used to love playing the old Tron arcade game with the glowing blue joystick handle at the local arcades that I would frequent. The lightcycle game was so much fun to play. This building in Culver City was used for exterior shots in the original 1982 Tron movie. The building was home to an arcade called "Flynn's Arcade". The character of Kevin Flynn (portrayed by Jeff Bridges) was the owner of the arcade in the movie. The arcade was on the lower level and his office space was on the second floor. In the real world, this building is called the Hull Building as was built in 1925. It was once Culver City's first hospital and is now a historic landmark. It has been home to many businesses over the years. Akasha restaurant is the current tenant and they are on the bottom level. There is a Flynn's Arcade logo on the door canopy on the side of the building. The original Flynn's Arcade neon sign that was used in the movie is stored over at Disney Studios. I was passing through Culver City and made a quick stop at the Hull Building to check out this historic place in person. I am not sure why I have always been fascinated with this building. I was a huge arcade junkie during my teenage years and always enjoyed the arcade scenes from the movie. I even own a Flynn's Arcade T-shirt. I am loving that arcades have made a comeback and are popular again. The fanboy part of me was having a lot of fun when I stopped by here. It still looks just like it did in the Tron movie. But overall, there really isn't much to see other than its facade. The current restaurant looks like a nice place to eat at. The upper floor is empty and is available for lease if anyone ever wants to recreate Flynn's office space.
