I tried this truck for the first time today, and my doors are blown off and my socks have been knocked off! The lady at the window was super friendly, and not in a fake, awkward way, but in a genuine, "I love everyone" sort of way. Anyway, I ordered 'The Duke' special, which is a lot of stuff I like: beef, hotlinks, caramelized onions, cheese, and green chile on a hoagie roll. She took my money, and I waited, thinking this was probably a mistake. I hadn't heard much about the place, but it seemed like with all those components, some of the weaker ones would bring down the entire sandwich. Boy was I wrong. The beef was beautifully cooked, with just a bit of pink showing, the hotlinks were smokey and delicious, the onions were soft and plentiful, the green chile had heat, and the cheese tied it all together into a beautiful gooey mess on a soft and inviting roll. I needed the extra fork she provided, as I 'got nasty' with it, caring less and less about what proper eating etiquette is, and more and more about getting it into my mouth as soon as possible. I'm not going to lie to you - this is not health food. Not even close. In fact, there really isn't anything I'd consider 'healthy' on the entire menu. If you're looking for something green, you've come to the wrong place. This food truck's menu is a carnivore's paradise, and it's going to cause long-term problems, but you know what? I live in the short term. It's greasy and brown, and just amazing. This would be the ultimate hangover food if I were hung over, which might just be the best compliment I can give the place. The other burger had a good sized patty. We were quite hungry so we went right in. However, the first bite was disappointing with no flavor. We were waiting for the hot in the green chile, but it never landed. And the grilled onions were quite sparse, also not giving it much more flavor. The crinkle fries were crispy and had some salt. But they did not redeem the meal. Nevertheless, the combo was quite filling. Overall, the food never met the smell that attracted us to this truck or the high cost, leaving us with a full belly but no flavor to speak of.

But then she brought us butter knives. When I got up and went to the bar to ask for a steak knife, her attitude was even faker. I don't abide fake when someone's eyes and mouth clearly say they think you're stupid or annoying or both. As a manager, you learn how to school your face and keep people happy or you don't last in management long. Also, if she miscalculated staffing, then it should have been her job to get into the bathrooms and keep them presentable. They weren't. Paper everywhere, and the walls need some serious touch ups. I ordered their Combo Special and chose the ground beef burger and beer battered fries options, over the grilled chicken or chips choices. I added green chile and cheese to make it a de facto green chile cheeseburger. Drinks were sweet tea for me and water for today's partner, which were expeditiously delivered to our table as we waited on the food to arrive. Sweet tea was pretty ordinary and less sweet or tea flavored than most I've had. Kinda thin on taste. Burger & fries portion were plenty generous. The well stuffed bun came butter toasted from the flat top & required a good bit of jaw stretch to fit it all in. Burger patty appeared to be hand formed, was very nicely grilled, and had excellent flavor. Lettuce, tomato, & onion, plus a drizzle of their house sauce, were intelligently placed under the cheese topped patty in the sandwich.
