They always do a great job on my shirts. I don't like reviewers who knock a business based on the price a business charges. There are other cleaners to shop for price, it's not a fair complaint. I have a lovely new cashmere sweater from Nordstroms, paid 140.00 for it. Got a tiny taco sauce stain on it, brought it here for cleaning. Picked it up, lady asked if Ive ever used a cleaners before when I checked to see if stain was gone. Said they had spent hours "ironing" the sweater, that I was ruining it, informed me I am to keep it on the hanger "so it stays nice." I tried to tell her I didnt pay her to iron my sweater, just clean the tiny spot. She was tremulous, barely speaks English, was futile. I could already see it was too late for it "to stay nice." Had little "pills" all over it as though someone put it through hot water at a laundormat. The soft cashmere texture was gone. Held it up to my shoulders, a noticeable difference in length. Took it home, yes it was much smaller. Previous to Sandpiper cleaners was large, I wore with leggings, came mid thigh. Now I cant ever wear with jeans due to change in width as well. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR VALUABLE ITEMS WITH THIS COMPANY. I left a brand new suit with them along with another very expensive suit and blouse. Unfortunately the new suit still had the tags on it. We watched them write 5 items on the receipt then after we left someone from their shop changed the receipt from 5 to 3 items. If that wasn't crooked enough, they then lied to me and told me that my husband had already picked it up. I knew they were lying since my husband was in another country!! Bottom line is that it is gone and I am extremely unhappy with how the situation was handled. They will now lose our $1,500 with of business each year. I would give them a zero if I could. I am shocked at the reviews here that remark on the owner being unfriendly-much less that she "screams" at people. The very sweet woman that is always in there has been nothing but helpful and gracious. She has sewn buttons on for free while I wait, has repaired 3 pairs of expensive work slacks that got snagged on a metal brace under my desk at work, and always remembers my name. I have been going to this cleaners for going on 6 months now and I am surprised at the negative reviews here. I go on a lot of business trips and have to have my clothes dry cleaned frequently. I have only experienced great quality and service from this business. Their services have always been friendly and professional. They are always more than happy to accommodate requests such as folding shirts, next day service, and quick alterations. I have been to other cleaners before and yes, while there are cheaper ones out there, you get what you pay for and that decision is up to you but that shouldn't be a reason to write a bad review. We had a prom dress emergency and called Sandpiper cleaners. They told us to come right over. She not only fixed the ripped strap but reinforced the others so that my daughter's prom was not ruined. She was pleasant and caring! The young man that was also there was pleasant and calmed us all down. She also charged a minimal amount for this last minute service! read more

But, after repeatedly being charged varying prices for the exact same items and not getting ANY (much less, satisfactory!) answers, I have decided to move on. I would pick 0 star but it's not an option. . Do not go to this place. WAY OVERPRICED. I had 3 lab coats LAUNDERED ONLY and I was charged $45!!! The owner wasn't there but I did tell the employee that it was such a rip-off and I never ever had to pay more than $20 in any dry cleaning places I've been to and even La Jolla doesn't charge that much. Absolutely terrible business! They tried to charge double what it would have cost anywhere else and didn't even clean my cushions properly. MONEY HUNGRY!! I dropped off a brand new bright white comforter with a small stain that I wanted removed. If I knew there was even a slight chance in hell that it would be messed up I would of not left it. I asked 4 or 5 times if she could clean it and she assured me the stain would be completely gone. I thought about going somewhere else because they charged me $50 but she reassured the stain would be completely removed. When picking it up, it was stacked up against the wall with other comforters. While looking for mine she pulled out a dingy comforter which I thought she needed to move to find mine and tried to hand it to me. I told her that it wasn't mine and when she showed me the tag I wanted to cry. They destroyed my $400 down comforter. It now looked dingy, worn out and all of the down was flat and bunched up in the corners. The stain still visible and increased in size. She knew she destroyed my comforter and was trying to keep it folded up while I was trying to look it over. I told her I'm not paying $50.00 and she ripped it out of my hands. I wanted to leave the comforter because I didn't want to pay $50.00 for a comforter that looked like it was used to mop the floor. I handed her $20 she again grabbed the comforter and didn't want to give me back my $20. read more

I haven't been using this location very long but I had thought I found the cleaners for us. Today I walked in and walked out with somebody else's clothes. I did not recognize the shirts so on the way home I called my husband and took some photos of the shirts. He said definitely not mine. I turned around and went back to sandpipers. The woman owner literally started screaming at me and insisted that they were our clothes. She was trying to give us someone else's shirts and insisted they were ours. Never going back! New to the area. Needed some things dry cleaned. They are close and conveniently located near my gym. After the rude conversation with the older lady and man at this dry-cleaners, I will not be taking my things here. No customer service whatsoever. Very rude, all scowls, loud and stressful, and pretty sure they were talking ill of me although I don't really know because I didn't understand the language they were speaking. Just going by body language and tone of voice. Should have looked them up on yelp BEFORE going there. The reviews are a mix of 5 star "been coming here for 10 years, etc" and 1 and 2 star reviews. If you are looking for a dry cleaner that will scowl while they interact with you and make the experience altogether stressful, or have been coming here for 10 years, then this is the dry cleaner for you. If you want good customer service that listens to what the customer wants, look elsewhere. read more

I have always gotten good service. Started coming here after another service I used changed hands and the quality /service degraded. That was 10 plus years ago. Always friendly here and things come out right. Prices are fair and I don't feel I am overpaying and, having worked a family business myself, I know how hard everyone there works. I do my own shirts, so I use them for cleaning/pressing silk and wool items and suits. Very convenient location is also a plus. I can shop for groceries, get gas, and get my cleaning done all in one spot. read more
