Sands Kia has very poor customer service and make promises to get you to make a deal and then go back on their word. The Internet manager promised to throw in All Weather Mats to close the deal when I purchased a 2016 Kia Soul. A promise to deliver was signed by myself and the manager. After 1 month passed I still had not received the floor mats so I emailed the Internet Manager. She acknowledged that they were promised and apologized for the delay and promised to resolve this ASAP. After 2 months of not receiving the floor mats, I received a letter from the Internet Sales Manager informing me that unfortunately, Sands Kia does not honor verbal agreements! This is after I sent him all email correspondence from myself and Kia Management acknowledging our written agreement! This is my third purchase of a new Kia vehicle in 3 years, and they are going to squabble over floor mats?! Not to mention, breaking a binding contract and comprising their reputation. I'm so sorry I recommended Sands for an oil change on my parents' leased Optima. That started a set of interactions that were aggressive, manipulative, unnecessary, and ultimately highly unethical in my opinion. The final outcome was three days of frustration that involved two new car purchase contracts, an early termination fee they were told they weren't going to have to pay, and a payment that was almost $200 more than they were initially promised. At one point, the GM had the option to do the right thing and just unwind the mess they had manipulated them into. Not only did he choose not to; he was rude to them to boot. Unfortunately, with their age, this is likely the last car they will ever buy, and I'm so sorry I steered them to a dealership that went out of its way to perpetuate the "sleazy car dealer" cliché. Seeing my mother in tears over such a horrible experience is guilt I will live with every day. What an experience at Sands Kia!! It started with some Internet shopping around. My first sales man didn't want to help me and come to find out he quit two days after we spoke (makes sense - his lost). I was contacted by Laura Davis, and I'm glad she did because I wasn't going to buy from them because of the first guy I dealt with. Let me tell you, she is OUTSTANDING!!! She answered all my questions via text and phone very quickly and professionally and to top that she was not pushy in buying a car. She is extremely friendly and very kind hearted. I'm glad to have worked with her and her boss George (another wonderful person). Both did their best with my trade in and getting me into a fully loaded 2015 Sorento SXL. Did I tell you that they priced match me exactly what USAA had! I'm lost for words at such a great experience we had at Sands Kia. There were a few issues at the time of delivery, but Laura and George ensured that everything would be fixed in no time (which they kept their word). I purchased a brand new car from Sands Kia December of last year. The sales people were absolutely wonderful! They helped me get approved to buy a new car and worked with us on my trade in. However, I have had terrible problems with my car over the past year. I have taken it in to the dealership on numerous occasions and they aren't willing to help anymore. There is something wrong with the car and they repeatedly tell me there isn't. My mom purchased the same car at the same time and hers was completely fine. She has since gotten rid of it due to the isues I have had and how TERRIBLE service has been to me. I will NEVER buy a Kia again and I won't even recommend the dealership to anyone to buy from. If there are issues with the car you better have another mechanic or dealership that will be more than willing to help, because Sands obviously is not going to be there for you!!!! read more

Dropped my 2012 Kia off for a scheduled oil change at 8am for a 9am appointment. I had my spouse follow me, as I figured they would have the car for a couple hours and I needed to run to the bank. To my surprise, they called about 30 minutes later to say the job was done. It was reasonably priced and no problems, plus the staff was freindly. I showed him the email you sent me quoting the 12493 price and even through in an EXTRA 3000 for tint and sales fee out the door He didnt want to go down 500 dollars to meet with it and also i spoke with my attorney and found out that when he tried to get me to finance for 3 months to meet some bull shit to get me to sign on top of the finance from my credit union was in fact illegal! In June 2012 I bought a 2013 Kia Soul from this dealership. Things went well, the staff was great and I was very pleased. Now, fast forward to March 2 2013. I had scheduled an oil change for my Kia and had driven all the way from Anthem. I thought it best to keep my service needs at the dealership I had, thus far, been very pleased with. When I arrived at 7:45 in the morning at the dealership, there was a long line waiting in the service line. An unusual sight this early on a Saturday morning. So, I inquired as to why everyone was still waiting when the service department should have opened at 7am. I was told there was a building alarm that no one had a code to disarm it. Really? This great big dealership and no one to open it? Someone slept in too late. I waited 30 minutes for the service department to finally open only to find out that they wanted me to wait 2 hours for my oil change. What?! I had an appointment and now I was forced to wait behind a whole line of people? I don't think so. When I ask if they could give me a loaner car to use until it was ready (I had other things that needed to get done) I was told that they had no vehicles to loan. Really? Last I looked, it was actually a dealership. You must have something? Nope. Away I drove extremely upset that I had driven 35+ miles to get my oil changed and wasn't even offered a "discount" on my oil change. Now, I schedule an appointment for March 30 once again to get my oil changed. Drive 35+ miles once again. The dealership had mailed coupons to my house over the past 2 weeks and there was a coupon in there for an $8.88 oil change. Now, I thought, this is a great deal! So I get there Saturday morning. Check in at the service desk only to be told they would not honor the coupon. What?! You sent me a coupon you won't even take? Well, the coupon was only for "Domestic Vehicles" . You send me a coupon for an oil change on a Domestic car when you know full well that I own a foreign vehicle.One that I purchased from YOUR dealership, none the less. When I told the lady that was helping me that I drove from Anthem and wanted the coupon honored anyway, she refused. Never offered to take it anyway for the trouble, she just told me that the same oil change for my car was $28.88 and again refused to help me. I was VERY upset! This lady was very nasty to me, I was not pleased with her or the way it was handled. Needless to say, I won't take my car back to this dealership again for anything. I'll find another KIA dealership closer to home that treats their customer with respect. Too bad for them. I would have continued to go there if they had just done the right thing. read more

I would recommend Sands Kia hands down. I had an issue with my Sorrento that Dick Hannah Kia in Vancouver, Washington wanted to charge y $500+ to repair. We thought it was a warranty issue. Dick Hannah said no. They lied. Sands Kia fixed the safety issue under warranty, without charge upon my relocation to Arizona. It's amazing to me how 2 Kia dealerships can be so different. All of my life I was told never bring your car to a dealership for service because they will rip you off by charging prices that are higher than everybody else and pushing repairs on you that you don't really need. However, at Sands Kia, I haven't found that to be the case. Their prices are always much lower than the private and chain specialty shops. Countless times I have brought my vehicles into Sands Kia only to be told that there is nothing needed. During the times that my vehicles have been serviced here, the work has always been top notch and affordable, not to mention fast. The cost of an oil change here is unbelievable, more than half the cost of an oil and lube shop. The biggest reason why my wife and I continue to go to Sands Kia is because of our service advisor Nick. Nick, is an absolute professional. He is clean cut, courteous, knowledgeable, accommodating, and extremely likeable. Above all else, he is honest and trustworthy in an industry built on deceit. Over and over again, Nick has proven to us that he is a man of above average integrity and morals. He understands that we are not made of money and informs us of upcoming sales that will save us money. He also tries to prioritize repairs incrementally to avoid big expenses hitting all at once. Most service advisors treat their customers as if they are made of money or could otherwise care less about their customer's financial hardships, but not Nick. He gets it and always tries his best to offer up alternative solutions based on the customers needs and financial abilities. Another thing that we like about Nick is that he always seems to remember us when we come in. He brings up things we talked about months ago during a previous visit. Amazing! He also knows our vehicles service history before we arrive which is impressive to us. Overall, Sands Kia is an affordable and trustworthy place to get your vehicle serviced. I had gone to Sands Kia when they first opened but I had another vehicle to sell prior to buying. The salesman asked if I would return when I was ready to buy which my spouse and I felt was courteous. I was having another vehicle serviced and while at the dealer I noticed a Kia and Hyundai Dealer next to the Dodge dealer. We agreed to go to the dealer and look at new vehicles. Once inside we were greeted by a salesman who asked if he could help, and help he did. We had told him we could not purchase because we had a 5th wheel and a truck to sell prior to purchase. The saleman informed me that they could help in that transaction, but my spouse insisted we would not receive the amount we wanted for the 5th Wheel. He asked if we had about 5 to 10 minutes, which we agreed to. They did give us almost what we were asking. Remembering what we had told the salesman at Sands I informed my spouse I did not feel good about not giving Sands Kia the opportunity to at least meet the price and that Sands Kia is located about 2 miles from the house while Nick Mayer is about 25 to 30 miles from our residence. We disclosed we would think about the deal and get back to them, disclosing our promise to Sands. We drove immediately to Sands and they came to us with a piece of paper disclosing what they would give us for our trade. I laughed and told them what Mayer had offered so they brought over the finance manager who sat and disclosed they could in no way meet the deal that the other Kia Dealer had given us. He went to to say, "if you can get this deal I would deal with them all day long," "now if this is true you probably want to deal with them." He laughed and said if we coulld not get the deal to come back and see them. We immediately left and went to a dealer who treated us with respect and dignity as we felt the finance manager had just called us a liar in a politically corrrect manner. We did complete the deal and purchased the vehicle. We were not able to get a dashmat for the vehicle right away so we agreed that it was a much shorter distance to go to Sands and get the dash cover. When I arrived at Sands the saleman came walking out and said I see you got your new car and I explained that I had purchased it at Mayer Kia. He acted very surprised and told me they were going to tell the finance manager about the lost deal. While my spouse purchased the dashmat cover I was called over to the finance department by the salesman , who was disclosing the transaction. The finance manager then siad "well after you left we talked it over and found that we could have given you the same deal." I must admit at this point I was upset and told him they were a pack of liars because they had my home phone number and they could have called me. I went on to say that their management had called me a liar, in a diplomatic manner. He informed me that was not the intent. I disagreed and explained that I was a retired and that part of my job was to interpret lying and that they had use the same process, with the exception they had given up their hand. The manager then told me if we were ever in the market for a new car we should give them another chance. I asked him if he thought I was that stupid and walked away. About a week later I had a screw in my front right tire and because Sands was closer to the house we took it to their shop. They told me that the tire could not be repaired and that there were no road hazzard warranties on the tire. They were very pleased to fix the tire at a cost of $125.00 for the tire not to include taxes and labor. We called Mayer and spoke to the outstanding service manager (John) who told us to bring it in and if the screw had not gone into the side wall they would fix it for us without charge. We did and they fixed the tire without resevation. My spouse and I have agreed that we will no longer visit nor do business in any manner with Sands Kia. We hope this helps those who are looking for a new vehicle as we dislike these type of thieves. read more

I have owned my Kia Soul since May 2011. Our salesman sold his first car to us. I have been taking it to Sands Kia for service on a regular basis. I also brought it there for minor things, syncing my iPhone to Bluetooth, installing windshield wipers and have always had excellent service. They keep calling to have me trade in my car, which has only 11,000 miles, but I love it and want to keep it for a long time. I will always bring it to Sands for service. My deceased husband used to sell cars and after being around dealerships for many years, I feel the Sands people are very sincere and honest. I highly recommend Sands for sales and service. I called the Director of Service Ron, he has no customer service skills at all. He is extremely RUDE and just made the whole situation worse! After dealing with several other dealerships and their "used car salesmen" tactics, I/we found Jorge (George), Brett, and "Jojo" to be just the opposite. I was helping a Spanish only speaking single mom find a car. Where typically the language difference would be a barrier - we found it to be just the opposite at Sands Kia. Jorge speaks Spanish and really helped us throughout the whole process. We were dealing with a very limited budget and they were able to help us find the perfect car. He said we should go for a test drive. He went inside to get the key. We got back and sat at his desk. After a while they come back and tell us that we do not have the correct price. Horrifically horrible. Buyer beware. After 7 visits to the dealership they refused to complete the contract unless I commit felony fraud. Herb went into detail how to produce the bogus paperwork proof. When I refused he said he would rewrite the contract to reflect the information I told them on day one and that they shook and agreed to. I arrived at the dealership 45 minutes later. Herb was at first supposedly not there then I was told he was with a customer. Steve Hamilton took me into his office and stated since I refused to provide the paperwork he wants the car back. I asked why wasn't that stated on the phone instead of Herb telling me he was rewriting the contract. Steve said he wanted the keys and they aren't in the business of giving away free cars I said I have trying to buy it for over a week and your finance team never asked for anything else. Since I refused to commit felony fraud I gave them the keys and Steve told me to call a friend or walk home. I live 25 miles away. I have the recorded conversation of Herb telling me how to produce bogus documents I will be filing charges with the authorities and Kia motors. On 2/3/2014, my wife and I visited Sands Kia to purchase a 2014 Kia Rio LX with automatic transmission. We came to the dealership with a Guaranteed Savings Certificate issued by Sands Kia that guaranteed that we would "save at least $1,847 off a base MSRP of $15,000 on any in-stock 2014 Kia Rio Sedan LX Automatic vehicle." The Certificate named George Burten (gburten@sandskia.com) as the contact person and (623) 474-3344 as his telephone number. In advance of visiting the dealership, we researched the online inventory of all Kia Rio LX's with automatic transmission, including the hatchback version. We identified a sedan version with the color and interior we wanted but were prepared to accept other exterior colors/interior colors based on currently available inventory. All of the inventory was listed under separate pages so every car could be identified by its lot number and VIN number. That page listed the MSRP and Internet Price and a button for a Sale Price. That page also made clear that "All prices and payments plus tax, title, license, and $499.50 doc fee." In other words, there was nothing to be added to the prices shown beyond tax, title, license and doc feel. Upon arrival, we were greeted by salesman "AJ" and advised that we were there to buy a Kia Rio LX Automatic and that we were to ask for George Burten. AJ advised that George Burten was not in but that he would help us. The first Kia Rio LX sedan that was our first choice had been sold. We were then taken to view the existing inventory and selected a hatchback model which had VIN #: KNADM5A39E6348019 and Stock #40747. The sticker on the vehicle showed that it matched the MSRP of the Guaranteed Savings Certificate except for the addition of floor mats, which was acceptable to us. There were no supplemental stickers on the Kia Rio we were interested in. When we stated that we wanted to obtain the out-the-door price so we could obtain a cashier's check from our credit union, the salesman (AJ) was shut out of the process and replaced by a supervisory or managerial employee who came back with a worksheet that added $200 for "etch". We advised this employee that the car had no such item appearing on any sticker on the car. Besides, we pointed out that the only thing the website stated would be added to the price were tax, title, license and doc fee and that "etch" were none of those. The supervisory employee stated he could not remove the $200 charge for "etch" but he would talk to his manager about increasing the Guaranteed Savings by $200 to counteract this added charge. After a wait, we were told that the $200 charge for etch would not be removed. We notified the supervisor that what he (or his manager) did was an unfair and deceptive business practice under Arizona law and that by trying to add this charge, Sands Kia was engaging in false and deceptive advertising. The supervisor's only response was: "Do you want to walk away over $200?" My answer to that supervisor and his manager is that I did not walk away over $200. I walked away because I do not think that customers should be subjected to false promises, unfair business practices and deceptive advertising. Note: Neither the salesman, AJ, nor the contact person, George Burten, played any part in this scheme. This was done intentionally solely by those higher up the management chain of Sands Kia. I have filed a complaint with the Consumer Division of the Arizona Attorney General's Office. I am also writing this review to warn unwary customers of these business practices. If you have experienced this type of unfair business practice, please let me or the Attorney General's office know. read more
