This was the worst experience I have ever had at a car dealership. THEY messed up my contract MORE THAN ONCE then tried to blame me for the error and have since done nothing to rectify the situation. After dealing with several other dealerships and their "used car salesmen" tactics, I/we found Jorge (George), Brett, and "Jojo" to be just the opposite. I was helping a Spanish only speaking single mom find a car. Where typically the language difference would be a barrier - we found it to be just the opposite at Sands Kia. Jorge speaks Spanish and really helped us throughout the whole process. We were dealing with a very limited budget and they were able to help us find the perfect car. I have been looking for a car online. I saw that Sands Kia had what I was looking for at a good price. So we drove down. I told the salesman the car I saw on line and the price. He said we should go for a test drive. He went inside to get the key. We got back and sat at his desk. After a while they come back and tell us that we do not have the correct price. On 2/3/2014, my wife and I visited Sands Kia to purchase a 2014 Kia Rio LX with automatic transmission. We came to the dealership with a Guaranteed Savings Certificate issued by Sands Kia that guaranteed that we would "save at least $1,847 off a base MSRP of $15,000 on any in-stock 2014 Kia Rio Sedan LX Automatic vehicle." The Certificate named George Burten (gburten@sandskia.com) as the contact person and (623) 474-3344 as his telephone number. In advance of visiting the dealership, we researched the online inventory of all Kia Rio LX's with automatic transmission, including the hatchback version. We identified a sedan version with the color and interior we wanted but were prepared to accept other exterior colors/interior colors based on currently available inventory. All of the inventory was listed under separate pages so every car could be identified by its lot number and VIN number. That page listed the MSRP and Internet Price and a button for a Sale Price. That page also made clear that "All prices and payments plus tax, title, license, and $499.50 doc fee." In other words, there was nothing to be added to the prices shown beyond tax, title, license and doc feel. Upon arrival, we were greeted by salesman "AJ" and advised that we were there to buy a Kia Rio LX Automatic and that we were to ask for George Burten. AJ advised that George Burten was not in but that he would help us. The first Kia Rio LX sedan that was our first choice had been sold. We were then taken to view the existing inventory and selected a hatchback model which had VIN #: KNADM5A39E6348019 and Stock #40747. The sticker on the vehicle showed that it matched the MSRP of the Guaranteed Savings Certificate except for the addition of floor mats, which was acceptable to us. There were no supplemental stickers on the Kia Rio we were interested in. When we stated that we wanted to obtain the out-the-door price so we could obtain a cashier's check from our credit union, the salesman (AJ) was shut out of the process and replaced by a supervisory or managerial employee who came back with a worksheet that added $200 for "etch". We advised this employee that the car had no such item appearing on any sticker on the car. Besides, we pointed out that the only thing the website stated would be added to the price were tax, title, license and doc fee and that "etch" were none of those. The supervisory employee stated he could not remove the $200 charge for "etch" but he would talk to his manager about increasing the Guaranteed Savings by $200 to counteract this added charge. After a wait, we were told that the $200 charge for etch would not be removed. We notified the supervisor that what he (or his manager) did was an unfair and deceptive business practice under Arizona law and that by trying to add this charge, Sands Kia was engaging in false and deceptive advertising. The supervisor's only response was: "Do you want to walk away over $200?" My answer to that supervisor and his manager is that I did not walk away over $200. I walked away because I do not think that customers should be subjected to false promises, unfair business practices and deceptive advertising. Note: Neither the salesman, AJ, nor the contact person, George Burten, played any part in this scheme. This was done intentionally solely by those higher up the management chain of Sands Kia. I have filed a complaint with the Consumer Division of the Arizona Attorney General's Office. I am also writing this review to warn unwary customers of these business practices. If you have experienced this type of unfair business practice, please let me or the Attorney General's office know. read more

We purchased a new van and traded in our car. While the process was long and hectic like most car buying experiences, it was what happened in the next couple of months that takes the cake. Sands Kia didn't completely fund the trade in. They were short $20! When I was notified by the finance company, I called KIA and they assured me it would be taken care of. Then I got a credit alert; telling me my credit took a hit from a delinquent account... WHAT?! Sands Kia never made the payment and the financing company reported the "past due" to the credit bureau. I had to pay the rest of the amount and overages due to Sands KIA's negligence. I will stop far away from them in the future and will warn others! read more

Horrifically horrible. Buyer beware. After 7 visits to the dealership they refused to complete the contract unless I commit felony fraud. Herb went into detail how to produce the bogus paperwork proof. When I refused he said he would rewrite the contract to reflect the information I told them on day one and that they shook and agreed to. I arrived at the dealership 45 minutes later. Herb was at first supposedly not there then I was told he was with a customer. Steve Hamilton took me into his office and stated since I refused to provide the paperwork he wants the car back. I asked why wasn't that stated on the phone instead of Herb telling me he was rewriting the contract. Steve said he wanted the keys and they aren't in the business of giving away free cars I said I have trying to buy it for over a week and your finance team never asked for anything else. Since I refused to commit felony fraud I gave them the keys and Steve told me to call a friend or walk home. I live 25 miles away. I have the recorded conversation of Herb telling me how to produce bogus documents I will be filing charges with the authorities and Kia motors. We bought a KIA Soul for over $31K and were told it had front and rear heated and ventilated seats. There was no window sticker because they had just rolled it off the transporter. We trusted them and we shouldn't have. The car doesn't have this feature, which we were told was about a $1300 item. Went back a week later and they said they couldn't do anything because they hadn't intentionally lied to us. They offered us a free oil change. Hmmm. They discount those for $8.88 with a coupon. Doesn't sound like a fair offer to me! How bout you? read more

My 20 year old daughter bought her first car here on her own under a first time buyers lease program. Wow did they really stick it to her. She bought a 2015 Kia Forte basic model. So disappointed in the final transaction. I try to let my kids do things on their own, but this big purchase my husband and I should have been there, so that's a parent fail on my part. In the end my daughter is unhappy with her car payments $340 for a lease! And it will be a tough lesson for her to learn that will cost her a 4 year commitment. Her car doesn't even come with a key fob, what car in 2015 has to actually be opened with a key? Her car, wow! Sands company has tried to pull other unethical transactions on us in the past, I'm disappointed in myself, I should have guided her better and told her to stay away from them. So although I take responsibility and she has been educated in the worst way on car buying, it's sad that the old reputation of car sales still exists here. Go elsewhere. read more

There is a commond belief that if people really love their job then you wouldn't have to ask them because it would be very apparent. That is entirely the feeling you get here at Sands Kia. Today I showed up around 10 am without an appointment an just hoped to get an issue taken care of on a day off. I was greeted proptly by Jose Vega and he quickly listened to my theories as to what might be wrong. Next he walked outside and asked to roadtest it. we got in the car and he heard the same sound from the front left corner. Once back at the service bay we talked about an oil change and I left to go about my day. A quick courtesy ride back to the lot this afternoon and my Kia rides like a Mercedes. A warranty policy on the car helped greatly but the retail cost initially quoted fell well within expected amounts and the oil change they offer couldn't be done in my garage for less than they charge. Overall great value and exceptional service. Integrity here flows from top down beginning with Mr. Jerry Moore followup nicely by Dale Ybarra in finance and now Jose Vega in Service. I'm extremely upset to have drive from Chandler to this location for a car I had previously spoken to a car salesman about promising a certain price and rate over email and phone. When we arrived there was a gash on the rear bumper of which was not shown in the pictures online. FALSE ADVERTISING!! My husband and I get into the car and it doesn't start! Seriously! We sit down and she would not honor the price she told us or the rate. What a SCAM!!! They lie to get you out there and than tell you "oh I made a mistake" but I'll honor it. Then the whole good cop bad cop comes into play. From her it's the old I'll honor what I told you and will fight for you. Than comes back to make it out as she can't honor anything she told us because some guy won't let her! Are you kidding me. I spoke with an employee over the telephone about the price of one of their Kia Sedona vehicles. The internet pricing was in the 26,000 range. When I arrived to talk numbers they told me the price was 31,000. When I told them that their website showed the vehicle to be 26,000 I was told by a manager that they did not know that I had seen the website. The manager then told me that we would sell me a 2015 Sedona for the same price as a 2016 Sedona because they were worth the same. I am pretty sure Kelly Blue Book takes money off of vehicles as they go down in years. These are the types of dirty techniques that car dealers use that make me want to keep what I have so I do not have to deal with the car buying experience. read more

Wow what great service I went in to have the Transmission drained and fluids changed. The radiator flushed and when I took in I explained I needed it by 10:30 so I could get to work and they had it all done for me and washed in less then 2 hours. read more

I recently brought my Kia Sedona in for an oil change. Someone will come out and greet you and take your information. You also have the option to check out an ipad while you wait for Service/Repair. The employees were very nice. They also service other model vehicles as well. I haven't seen this at any other dealeship. This is why i bring both of my vehicles to Sands Kia. When we made appointment for oil change I specified that I wanted to use $8.88 coupon and they had our vehicle information because we bought it new there a few years ago. When we went in for the oil change it ended up costing us $36 because they needed synthetic oil. They should have told us that when we made the appointment. Left another message. Still no call back. Funny how they have been calling me monthly since I purchased the vehicle asking if I want to trade, inform me of sales deals etc. but when we need something from them, no one is available to help us. Purchased a used 2012 Kia Optima in April of 2016. I purchased this vehicle because it was still in 60,000 miles and suppose to still be under factory warranty. Needless to say something went wrong and my Bluetooth no longer works. After a few weeks of dealing with and trying to rectify the issue. I am told by Kia that it is not covered under the warranty plan as it expired after 36 months or 36,000 miles. And, that I would need to purchase a new stereo system and pay for the installation which would Total $804.00. Not a very reputable product if you ask me, and not a very customer oriented company either. One would think they would want their customers happy and satisfied with the entire product. They would want them for repeat purchases in the future. I will not be a repeat customer and have already talked 2 friends out of their Kia purchases. And, will continue to do so because of their lack of customer service alone. I have been in the service industry all of my life and know what it is to provide good customer service and expect no less when I am the customer. On the brightside, they have saved me $800.00 on my 60,000 mile inspection which I had just begun having done. And they have not only lost that income but also my new car purchase next year. When I usually drive to Sands Kia surprise from tempe. I have always had a great experience. Today's visit was not the best. Today I took my vehicle to get my breaks checked. Mind you I have never worked with Chad the guy in maintenance before today. He was very rude very disrespectful. A very ugly person. He he was trying to explain to my partner and I what was wrong with the breaks. I was speaking to my partner and only him. When Chad got upset started screaming at me and actually got into my face yelling. And was upset that I was talking to my partner instead of talking to him as well. I will never want to work with Chad again. Due to the fact that I feel as if he would not take a look at my car or fix the problem. Due to this problem we had today. Belhum is a true doll and has always given us above and beyond service. The only real reason why we take the hour drive to Kia sands. Have bought several Kia's and have really been satisfied with the car itself. Wanted to trade our 2003 Sedona in for a newer Kia. Ended up with a 2011 Sorento! Excellent condition and no pressure from our Sales person Louis Evans. Only problem was from the management. We were quoted a price and when they brought paperwork over to start bidding process, they started with a much higher price than they first quoted. Which in turn made me upset with the whole process. Even our sales person said he heard the first quote. As I have said, my hubby and I have bought many Kia's and are real satisfied with the car, but not the management! I bought a Kia Forte in August 2011. I liked the vehicle, even like the salesman which doesn't happen very often. I went back to talk to the salesman about something about a month later and found out he no longer worked there. Today I think I found out why. When I bought the vehicle I said I did not want an extended warranty. The finance guy said they don't sell extended warranties but they sell service contracts. I still wasn't interested until he explained that it covers the 30k and 60k services. The 30k service is almost $1200 so why wouldn't I pay $1241 for the service contract. Well OF COURSE I would do that. I went to use it today for my 30k service and guess what, it doesn't cover it. I posted a complaint on their facebook page and they deleted it within 30 seconds and DIDN'T even respond! I can only assume that our great salesman actually has a heart and couldn't work for these people anymore. Whatever you do, buy elsewhere! Don't trust a thing they say. Worst experience EVER!!! Traded in 2 cars for a Soul 45 days ago. They still have not paid paid off my 2 cars and I have not received anything from the loan co. My temporary plate expired yesterday and I can't get them to give me a new one. Carlos in Finance lied to me and told me I had to get certain insurance additions and I found out later I didn't need them. When I call no one will call me back. They said my daughter would get $100 for recommending us and she still has not received that money. I would not recommend buying a car from them. If I had more time I would give even more reasons but I have to go over there and try to get a new temporary plate so I don't get a ticket. Plus, the car drives like crap. He said they would for sure work with my request and give me a fair offer. He wasn't lying he did a great job getting me what I wanted. My main reason for keeping my business there with him was because he didn't come across pushy and he didn't immediately annoy me (we all know how annoyed we can get the minute we get out of our car at a dealership). He made the car buying experience pleasant and I didn't feel overwhelmed at all working with him. We have been working with Sands Kia for a number of years purchasing a total of six cars from the dealership. They have been consistent with the service provided. Belham Cummins has been our sales person through all of our transactions. She is very professional, courteous, friendly, caring, and very respectful of our needs. She answered all of our questions and provided the very best in customer service. We would not see anyone else because in our opinion she is "perfect". Kyle provided us with the best possible price, loan rate, and was helpful in making our decision and he also was very respectful. Herb was our finance manger who walked us through the paperwork. He did not try to push us into additional fees, i.e. Gap coverage, extended warranty, etc. and that was very much appreciated. Even though we did not interact with the service department, since we have purchased six cars from Sands Kia and have worked with the service department, we would also like to commend Steven Sanchez in the service department. He is efficient, accommodating, friendly, and give the best possible advise on the cars service. We just want to thank everyone at Sands Kia for making us feel welcome and respected. DECEPTIVE DEALERSHIP. Advertised a low price and didn't share that there is a $2600 reconditioning fee on top of the base price, taxes, registration and lot fee. Our experience at Sands Kia was horrible. We arrived after researching used cars and were interested in a blue 2015 Kia Optima. We had cash and were ready to buy a car that night. The car was priced around $12,000. We asked if the car had any parts replaced and were told nothing had been replaced. After the test drive, we sat down with salesman and were told that the price would be over $16,000 after all of the fees. We shared our concerns that the $2600 fee was deceiving. The salesperson verbally AGREED that this was a bait trick and said he would try to remove the reconditioning fee because it was deceiving. He came back offering to cut the reconditioning fee in half since new tires had been bought for the car and there was an issue with the engine that was fixed. After all this, they offered the car for $15,000. We will not be returning to Sands Kia. read more

We told the finance guy we definitely did not want the service contract, However when we got home we saw that $2500.00 had been added for the service contract, The man had my husband sign the contract and he said what we were signing for, but he never said anything about the warranty contract. My husband went down to see him and tell him to take it off. He said he would, but if would come off the end of the contract. We want it taken off now .'My husband called someone in the contract department and he said they would take if off, but there would be a charge for cancelling. We don't think we don.t think we should pay a charge since they added it illegally. read more

I have mixed feelings about this dealership. I purchased a 2014 Sorento a while back. I had some issues with getting a We Owe done the dealership promised me. Minor detail. The only complaint I have is my instrument cluster is stuck in Celsius and the tech support cannot even seem to figure out how to fix it. Every interaction I've had with Krissy in the service department has not been the greatest!! However some of the others are ALOT nicer. I received a phone call from the NEW service manager because of a complaint I made to KIA. I'm one of those people that is constantly busy so I haven't returned his call yet. I decided for my first oil change to take my 2014 Sorento to another dealership, because I was in their area at the time. .. I'm excited to say the other dealership was awesome in comparison to Sands! Still sad that no one can figure out how to fix the whole Celsius thing but I guess that will come with time. read more

I was a first time buyer of a vehicle when all of this happened. I did my research online and found the Soul that I wanted. So in the sales department, I did their job for them. I have no complaints about my salesman. My complaint is to the piece of work they have for a financer. Keep in mind, I was a first time buyer. He didn't go over or explain anything whatsoever about my contract, he only had me initial and sign. When I asked what I was signing for and if there was anything I should ask about or what have you.... He replied, "Does anything look out of line?" I had no idea. Come to find out, I go home thinking that I did a great job finding my first dealer ship bought vehicle... my mother and father looked over my contract and he added on so many add-ons (about 7,000 dollars worth) without talking to me. The ten year extended warranty, and apparently a base-model Kia Soul already comes equipped with all the bells and whistles? No. And I'm talking, he added on every possible add-on that a Soul could have. Roof rack, fog lights, mud flaps, etc. My car didn't even come with remote entry let alone all of that! I ended up having to get ahold of a manager and get a major refund from this company for over charging me so massively. They are not female friendly, they are not first-time buyer friendly, and they will rob you blind. However, their service department was awesome to work with, but I will not go back. I will never do business with any Sands company. For all of my warranty work and other needs with my car, I go to Earnhardt. read more
