It has a potbelly/panera mixed vibe but definitely on the healthier side with the variety of different sandwiches and soups. It's not the best sandwich I've ever had and I wouldn't crave for it but I tried the tandoori chicken sandwich, which was bomb. I highly recommend it especially to my spice cravers out there. I ate here today, and now I can't wait to eat here tomorrow. Happy accidents are well, happy. I came across this place for two reasons. 1.) It is right behind Noodles and Co. close to the mixing bowl, and 2.) My co-workers had eaten here before and had good experiences, so I expected the same. When I got inside, it was just inside of 11 o'clock, just the start of the lunch rush. Two people were working behind the counter (they were probably the owners). People were slowly coming in, but there were only two people in the restaurant eating. Understandable. Most people don't start their lunch that early, but considering I was up since 5 am, I was fairly hungry for something to eat. Looking at the menu, I saw they had a nice options of salads, sandwiches, and that of the rest. But I was still unsure of what to get. Until I looked to my left and saw, "Special of the Day", Cuban. Done. Considering how I have longed for a Cuban sandwich since I left Winchester, it was non-negotiable to get one. I get mine with no mayo but pickles on the side. The rest of it (mustard, swiss cheese, pulled pork, and ham) was fine. I also noticed that they had "cookies", especially one that was "Oreo" which was intriguing. I also got myself a free drink as they offer a free drink with a yelp check-in and the purchase of a sandwich or salad. Now I only wish they offered me something with the sandwich, which would have done it for me alone. But okay. Let me put it this way, this is a damn good Cuban. Excellent amounts of meat, and they do not overdo the mustard or the cheese. Perfect amounts all around. The bread is perfect too. They even gave me a nice amount of pickles on the side! That's telling as that is probably what they put on the sandwich. They said to me that they sell it Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. I am excited to try it again. The cookie? Well, it is more like a "Brookie" (it tastes like a brownie meets a cookie). It had actual Oreo cookies baked inside, and was rather dense. In the end it wasn't quite worth the hype, and I am still undecided if I want to get it again or try something else. But I give them credit for trying. The customer service was really good too. They did not get anything wrong with the order, and they were not hesitant to give me extra napkins (and they gave me quite a lot). They also throw in a fork with the order which was also very nice of them. I have to be honest here with the restaurants near the Mixing Bowl. Between here, Malek's, Flame Kabob and Veronica's, these establishments all know how to treat their customers with respect. Even Moby Dick, which in my opinion the least favorable of the restaurants mentioned in terms of food quality, was willing to go the extra mile to make things right. Everybody else, take notes. The sandwiches were good and the prices are okay. I got the corned beef sandwich and it came on ciabatta bread. The sandwich tasted like a corn beef sandwich and it was made relatively quickly. I like the unique drink and soda options here. For me, this was a step above the typical fast food sandwich chains, but there was not enough about it to set it apart as unique and deserving of 5 stars. Dropped in after seeing some good reviews - was craving sandwiches. The place was pretty full with a good mix of families, friends, and other customers. There were a few people ahead of us in line but our sandwiches came out pretty quick. We both got the special but with modifications - me without cheese, my husband with different cheese - and they both came out with notes so it was easy to tell apart :). The sandwiches were good: lots of filling, good sauce, nice bread. Would definitely come back here to try a different sandwich. There were no open tables when we arrived so we hung out after we ordered to see if a table opened up. Randomly checked the reviews and wanted to do a follow up specifically because of that jerks 1 star follow up, when he didn't actually visited the darn place again. Who does that? Updates a review giving a lower score without going to the place again? Either I or someone in my family eats here at least once a week. And we have always enjoyed what we've gotten. Sometimes is it simply good rather than sublime? Of course. Some things I have liked more than others. But it has always been good. My favorite of their specials is the Pork Belly probably followed by the Avocado Egg Salad. But from their regular menu. The roast beef with that delicious wasabi mayo, I add arugula and it's perfect. Also the Cuban is toasted sandwich awesomeness. My sons love the Short Rib. My mom always orders their Rueben or Steak & Cheese when they are the special, and the shrimp salad or chicken salad when they aren't. Their Oreo or Peanut Butter/Chocolate cookie is always a yummy treat. And their bottled soda's are unique and they have Cheerwine! So please do not pay attention to that one guy with his bulls**t one star review for a restaurant he only visited one time. His review smells a little xenophobic to me. read more

I am a fan of Sandwich Republic. I have driven by this establishment numerous times and always remind myself to try it out. That day finally came recently; the girlfriend and I stopped by at 7:30 PM (they close at 8) to pick up some food to-go. I got the Tandoori Chicken sandwich and she opted for the Braised Short Rib. Both sandwiches were very good and priced well. The chicken was seasoned perfectly and the yogurt cilantro sauce complimented the sandwich. I will admit it got pretty spicy near the end of my meal, however it's noteworthy to mention that I don't handle spicy well so it will probably be different for others. The portion size is good and they are very generous with the amount of chicken/ beef they load into each sandwich. Overall, I'm glad I was able to finally try this place out. Oh Sandwich Republic, where have you been all of my life? I will admit, ciabatta bread is not my favorite, in fact, it's something I probably wouldn't order on my own, but theirs is good. Backwards compliment of the day, right? I mean it though... It's made in house and I think that makes the difference. Instead of being dense and chewy, it's soft and pillowy, but still holds up to their ingredients well. So no soggy sandwiches here! Of the standouts that I have tried, we first have to discuss their Chicken Tandoori Sandwich. Wow. Just, wow. It's spicy and complex, and the yogurt cilantro sauce accompanies it perfectly. It is, for sure, one of the best sandwiches I have ever had! Their Cuban is also pretty money; it's not a staple to the menu though, but I sure am happy when I see it make a guest appearance on the specials board. Their shrimp salad sandwich is also very good, but if you don't like Old Bay I would not recommend it, as they are not shy with seasoning here. Overall it's a very small storefront, so if they are busy I would not anticipate dinning in. But if you are in the area and in the mood for a sandwich (except on Sundays when they are closed) I would recommend popping in to try something delicious. I randomly noticed this place while on my lunch break. It was definitely a pleasure to see a place that offered a different take on the traditional lunch sandwich. I have only tried the tuna sandwich with everything on it (lettuce, tomato, hot relish, and mayo) plus Havarti cheese. The sandwich is HUGE with a consistent flavor. My only issue is that they are a little on the pricey side for lunch esp if you get chips and a drink with it. However, its definitely worth it. The Sandwich Republic is behind Toki Teriyaki in Springfield. I really did not expect much as I thought this place was any other sandwich shop. Boy, was I wrong! They have 17 different kinds of sandwiches (turkey breast, Italian ham, roast beef, shrimp salad, Tandoori chicken breast, BLT, portabella mushrooms, corn beef) and 3 different types of salads (Caesar, Country Greek, and Harvest Green). My husband and I shared #12, which was the 'Braised short rib with Provolone, arugula, and tomatoes) - you can also add additional toppings (lettuce, tomato, mayonnaise, onion, pickles, hot peppers, oil, and/or vinegar). This place is owned by the sweetest Korean couple who are so cute. The husband stated that the #12 was one of the most popular ones and that the onion, pickles, and the hot peppers would be best. I listened to him! :D I'm not usually a fan of ciabatta bread as it's usually so doughy and dry and too big, but I was SUCH a fan of this one - very soft and delicious, and great with the Provolone right underneath which 'seasoned' it perfectly! The braised beef was soooo tender and flavorful enough with the vinegar dressing. I loved the slices of the red onion and the fresh sliced pickles - yum yum yum! The sandwich was very fresh, healthy-tasting, and delicious - one of the best sandwiches I've had in quite a while! We also tried a side of their potato salad, which had a nice creamy dressing to it, with red potatoes. Slightly crunchy, but still good. We downed it with Leninade (a simple Soviet style soda), and my favorite, Maine Root's Blueberry Soda. Springfield (at least the area Sandwich Rebublic is in) is a dry spot for good, quick takeout lunch options.  Sandwich republic delivers in many ways.  From the moment you enter, you are greeted by staff and the large menu is extensive but not overwhelming.  If you have questions or want to customize a sandwich just speak with one of the staff members.  I have had several sandwiches but my favorite is keeping it simple with turkey.  I ventured out and tried the chicken tikka one once but was not very impressed with that one. The sandwiches are always very fresh and they are plenty big for lunch.  They also have delicious cookies.   My favorite is the chocolate chip Oreo. It's kind of like a cookie within a cookie if you feel me.  They must take chocolate chip cookie dough and crumble Oreos into the batter!  The result is a sweetness explosion that is uhhh-ma-ZING!  I can't always pair my sandwiches cookies but when I do its with Sandich republic! Overall, this is a solid spot in Springfield for s casual dine in or takeout experience. The proprietors are local and really do make it a great experience. read more

I rarely buy sandwiches because in my mind I can make them at home, but if I do order one I usually scan the menu for something with turkey and avocado in it. Unfortunately they didn't have anything matching that description so I asked the guy (VERY nice guy by the way) behind the counter what their best seller was and he said the Short Rib Sandwich or the Tandoori Chicken Sandwich. I normally would never order either of these, but I decided to trust him and ordered the Short Rib Sandwich. Like I said, I RARELY buy sandwiches or order anything really meaty like a short rib sandwich so I was afraid this was going to be dry or something like those disgusting McRibs everyone raves about. It came out on ciabatta bread with semi-melted provolone cheese, tomato, and arugula. The sandwich looked pretty plain. I immediately wished I had ordered chips too. BUUUUT - I was wrong. The meat was VERY tender, the bread was fresh and soft, and despite the seemingly plain ingredients it had tons of flavor to it. The nice guy behind the counter told me I should try it with their hot pepper mix, so he gave me a sample on the side. It added a good kick to it. I can't decide whether or not I like it better with or without the pepper mix. Very fresh, simple and delicious. Next time I definitely plan to order the Tandoori Chicken Sandwich. read more

We got three subs to go, we did the bbq chicken, tandoori chicken, and turkey with bacon. I love the bread, it was chewy but not hard.... if that makes sense. The positive reviews on Yelp helped us to decide to pop into this cute deli for a late lunch. The employees (perhaps owners?) were welcoming and attentive.... A big plus in a time of decreasing customer service. Hubs ordered the Italian sandwich with an ample helping of capaciola ham, mortadella, Genoa salami and provolone served on a very good ciabatta bun. The only thing missing, in my opinion, is the sweet peppers that usually accompany a hoagie style sandwich. But a damn good sandwich, regardless. I opted for the vegetarian roasted eggplant with spring mix, fresh mozzarella, tomato pesto, basil and balsamic. Another really good sandwich. What's sets this deli apart are the signature sandwiches, to include braised short rib, tandoori chicken, and a variety of daily specials (today's included a Cubana).
