This spot feels like a hidden gem. There's a huge sign inside that says "enter as strangers, leave as friends" and it's reflective of the friendly and attentive service. The vibe was small-town feel, warm & inviting, but with big flavors. I ordered the country benedict which was savory and delicious. The sauce was well made and juicy, pairing nicely with the runny yolk. They certainly didn't skimp on the gravy either. We also ordered the short stack pancakes with strawberries and they were some of the fluffiest pancakes I've ever had. They stayed fluffy even towards the end of our meal and we all fought for the last bite. Perfect tuck-in before a trip down to Point Lobos!

Great, personal service and good deals. Not particularly fancy, but comfortable. My dining companion and I shared the prime rib special and they were kind enough to split the plate in the kitchen. Can't beat the prime rib dinner for the price.

We were going to go somewhere else. But thought. This place used to be good. We walked in the place was packed. We were seated in the back biggest booth. Served coffee. Soda. Then we wait. Finally order. Ok. This took so freaking long. My MIL said they must have had to go catch the chicken. Meanwhile. The table was sticky. I had to ask for a wet towel 3 times. Turns out. They don't clean in the middle where the condiments sit. It was disguising. And waited and waited. Finally the food came. And the hottest thing on my plate was a zucchini in my vegetable dish. My husband ordered a hamburger steak and eggs. It was nasty. I had chicken mashed potatoes and gravy. Gross. The chicken was moist. WET. It wasn't delicious as I had hoped. It didn't say they cover potatoes with that. My MIL had a hamburger. It was dry and she complained to us. I lost my appetite. It took forever for the sever to refill coffee. And get creamer. And soda. Well. It was the worst $80. Spent at any restaurant. The service was bad. The food was awful. And idk how the place was so packed. I wish we had gone to Black Bear. It would've been worth the wait. I will NEVER go back. Or recommend it. OD's Would've also been better. Lousy experience. Totally revolting. One Star. Becuz it was open. SO WHAT.

I came into Sandy's Cafe on a Sunday morning expecting to have a wait, but was delighted when we were immediately greeted by their friendly staff and taken to a booth in the back area of the restaurant with a really cute view! I ordered the belgian waffle with apples with a side of eggs and sausage which was delicious. I came with my boyfriend who ordered the Reuben sandwich and was shocked at the quality of the food for the price. I also tried a few of his fries which were perfectly crispy and delicious! Our waitress (I believe her name was Caitlin) was super sweet and attentive. Sandy's Cafe is such a hidden gem in Gilroy!

If ordering ahead, DEFINITELY prepare for a long drive thru wait. Waited almost a good 30 min during peak hours for 2 drinks. Heard the hype about Dutch Bros finally coming down to the South Bay and knowing about their drinks up in Sacramento, I had to give them a shot as it's been forever since the last time I've been here. Let's just say the quality was just as good as before but their first impression here was not the greatest in terms of wait time. I ordered ahead of time about 10 min away from them but once I came here, the drive thru line was absurdly long. To top it even further, there was a crowd of folks waiting outside as well waiting for their drinks to come out so it seems like they're having some understaffing issue to keep up with the high demand unfortunately. After a good 30 minutes... the drinks were picked up and was satisfied with how them just like in other locations. Would I come back here? Unfortunately, I'm going to put a maybe as until they get their wait time settled, I wouldn't want to wait that long for coffee when I could go to other competitors with much lesser lines to wait at. I'll check back in in maybe a month to see if any improvements.

We got sat down pretty quickly. Then the table behind us got sat down 5 mins after. They got greeted right away and got their order taken. 10 mins after our server came and took ours. Our server was taking a big table of 12. In my opinion someone else should've taken our order if the server was busy with a big table. Then our food obviously took a while because there was a huge table before us. By the time our order came out, the table behind us were finished and got their checks and left. Food was delicious as always. The service was non existent, she only came by to take our order and give us our order. She never checked on us. Our drinks were empty. We waited and I tried telling the host that we need the check. 5 mins passed and I asked the host again that we need to pay. She then told me that I can pay at the counter. I went and waited for another 5 mins. Finally our server came up and told me that she went to our table and weren't there. I told her that we have been waiting for a while and that we were not happy about the service. She dismissed what I said. $61 total and left $5 tip. Not my usual style. I normally leave 50% tip. Maybe this is a sign we need to save money and not eat out. We spent about $700 in one week from dining out. Eeeek! Thank you for the reality check!
