    Sandy's Restaurant - Blue Springs, MO 11/1/25

It's one of those hidden gems that the "locals" know and love. Servers greet the regulars and the regulars know which station "THEIR" favorite servers attend. Friendly and welcoming - - nice to experience on a brisk, autumn Saturday. HOWEVER!! Be forewarned.... COME HUNGRY!!! The portions are very generous! And really, REALLY good! Our meals required TWO servers! My friend ordered the fried chicken dinner. It was BEAUTIFUL! GOLDEN brown. Her sides were broccoli and Mac and cheese. As a big fan of chicken livers (if you know, you know). At first I was a little concerned they were over cooked. But nope! They were JUST RIGHT Goldilocks! I had mashed potatoes with white gravy - - OUTSTANDING. Green beans with smoked ham. Nicely prepared. It's JUST LIKE grandma used to make. We shall return again soon. Oh - - the prices? Incredible. $13.99 for my dinner which I EASILY brought home 2/3 to 3/4 of the livers. My companions fried chicken $14.49 plus she was able to choose which pieces she preferred!

Fried Chicken a little bland but not bad at all.

Tenderloin was very good. Fried chicken a little bland but good. Guy in the kitchen was very nice and friendly.

The food is amazing here, service is excellent, and it has now become a family tradition to have breakfast when visiting my brother. My sister in law orders the same sandwich but the Leilani. My brother loves the biscuits and gravy, mom orders and omelet. Previously my father has ordered the country fried steak.

This place used to be good.

The food is good here, the service is kinda slow, and it's expensive to eat here ! That's why I quit going here, too pricey ! Hope this helps !

Tenderloin sandwich and onion rings perfection

Though not on 40 any more I decided to try them. They are part of PT's in Oak Grove so why not? After Hospital Hill, my mom and I ate lunch at Sandy's. (This girl has to eat after a hot run). I had the obvious, tenderloin sandwich and onion rings. I could only eat half of the sandwich it was the size of the plate. I added hot sauce on it and it was delicious. The breading was seasoned as expected. The onion rings, huge order. My mom had an omelet. It had 3 eggs. I don't eat eggs and can't review it. The restaurant was roomy, social distanced with quaint but few decorations. The service was great fir a Saturday! We got our food quickly. Definitely will visit again.

forgot half of our order, went back up and was super respectful just for them to not have it made, then proceeded to not cook the eggs all the way and threw it all in the box with egg yolk EVERYWHERE.

I'm conflicted about this place. The food is great, the staff is friendly, but dang...it took forever to get the food.

Delicious, affordable hole in the wall. Food took awhile as they were busy, but it was worth the wait! We will be back!

There's nothing more comfortable than a hometown diner, and Sandy's has the added bonus of fantastic food. Breakfast is their jam.

They cook perfect eggs which will suit anyones preferences, from omelettes, to a perfect sunny side up egg. I'd say they're wonderful! As long as I've been coming here, I've never been served anything but the best dishes from the kitchen. The servers have always been pleasant and professional... most eager to serve you, the customer. It's a kitchy environment, full of autographed star photos, and old style kitchen and restaurant items and advertising signs. Cozy and Homey. I highly recommend this little breakfast/brunch spot for a quick, or leisurely meal any day of the week.

Booths are old and should have been replaced probable 10 years ago. Seats are torn and uncomfortable if you are wearing shorts. Food was delicious but serving portions are extremely small. An adult portion would have been what expected on kids menu. Server was Chloe and she provided excellent service and was very attentive. I didn't linger and left as soon as I finished my meal and there were plenty of open booths entire time I was there. This kids lunch cost &18 and I left hungry. I could have eaten at another Blue Springs Restaurant and had 2 lunches with money still in my pocket and a full belly. I could have had 3 lunches at a McDonald's for that with money left over and a full belly.

They offer daily specials, weekly trivia contests, and a live music. Entertainers generally play live music several nights a week. Sinclairs host mostly acoustic performers, mainly on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays: 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Most of the entertainers feature guitar playing solo artists in the bar area. As for the food... it's all pretty tasty. Served in an upscale fashion. And worth mentioning is THE ABSOLUTE BEST MEATLOAF I have ever eaten outside of my own kitchen; and yes, possibly even better than my own... which speaks volumes because I'm generally an excellent cook and extremely particular diner. (Not bragging - just emphasizing that my standards are high). This meatloaf is hearty, rich, and moist, with a firm meaty texture (Not over done with fillers). It's cut generously and served over freshly mashed potatoes topped with a complex & flavorful sauce I'd liken to a rich brown gravy with a hint of herbs & possibly a tad bit of steak sauce for good measure... Its the star. I just wished they served this on their daily menu! Speaking of... their entire menu is thoughtfully made, and the chef deserves major kudos for their talents in the kitchen. I will go with friends in tow to enjoy a night off in the kitchen, to enjoy some of the best meals our city has to offer. Looking for something do? Sports Watch Parties are a good time: Sinclair's serve as the neighborhood hub when it comes to watching our very own Kansas City Chiefs play. They will also host other major local or national sporting events. If sports aren't your thing, try your hand at trivia night on Mondays. You'll be glad you didn't stay home!

I am still genuinely befuddled at this Friday night dinner experience…read more I came in for a celebratory Hurricane since I'd heard these were great (and we loved their cocktails the last time) and a bite. The place was pretty empty which was unusual; the last time we came in I think was in December and it was slammed! It turns out they aren't serving alcohol right now (apparently an ownership change? I didn't get the full scoop) so that was the first let-down. So fine - I'll just have a bowl of the gumbo. For $29?! And some biscuits. The gumbo comes out in a cracked bowl with a cracked plate underneath and the 3 little crawfish on top are refrigerator cold. Granted, the actual gumbo was pretty solid with the right amount of heft and spice and depth, but even then the rice had some hard pieces in it like it was old. The biscuits aren't anything to write home about and the butter is just meh. I wouldn't spend my carbs there. On top of all that, the waitress literally couldn't be bothered that I existed. I had to pry to get a drink menu (which is when I found out they weren't serving any), I couldn't get any eye contact from her or any kind of friendliness, she asked me if I wanted them to "heat it up" when I told her about the crawfish, and then brought my bill when I hadn't even finished dinner without bothering to ask if I wanted any dessert. And on top of that, there was no mention at all about the dinner issues or any apology whatsoever. I don't need or want a meal comped but for over $40 for a bowl of gumbo and some biscuits (+ tax, tip, etc) I at least expect some acknowledgement or "hey, here's something nice we can do for you". We really enjoyed the last time we were here and this was a genuinely jarring experience compared to that. The place looks pretty rough right now - maybe this is one of those places that has the right vibe in the dark, but nothing felt right about it today, and I'm afraid I can't (won't) recommend it again.
