We enjoyed the food as well as the atmosphere. The decor, ambiance, and glitter of the restaurant is spectacular, and we truly loved it. Service quality was great as well. The flavors of each dish kept their authenticity while also bringing a modern twist. The presentation of each dish stands out without compromising on the flavor. The drinks are amazing, and I highly recommend the Pomegranate mocktail. For the appetizers, the Panner Tikka and Tandoori Jinga (Tiger Prawns) is a must try. Overall experience was extremely disappointing. Priced and advertised as fine dining, but food and service quality was fast casual at best. Our waiter was extremely casual, did not walk us through the menu, did not tell us everything was family style, and felt like it was his first time waiting tables. Very small portions (to be expected with fine dining), but in this case was the same quality as Indian takeout (like the 30 options available in the area). We ordered a desert that had an alcohol flambee that was supposed to be poured over a desert; literally there were two drops that were poured over the course. To make it all worse, they include a 20% gratuity for all checks. Would've tipped 10%. We will be sticking to Indian takeout from one of the many options nearby. read more

Total sham. Food is very bad quality. Ordered butter chicken and it was very cheap dark meat in a bland sauce. The meat was like two big pieces of dark meat and it was like rubber. Inedible! Everything was cheap and bad except very expensive because you're paying for the setting and not the food. It was $40 for the worst butter chicken I ever ate. You can get a better butter chicken elsewhere for $10. Staff is incompetent. Some lady just stands around near the food with her hair hanging out over the food. Gross! Avoid this scam! read more

I recently dined at Sanjh and I wish I could say good things other than the service was good. Drinks were not bad but over priced and the food looked good presentation wise but was bland and the curries too sweet. I included video of the shakargandi chaat which was presented beautifully but OMG IT WAS ROTTEN !! They claimed to be a creative kitchen but nothing out of the ordinary in their OLD DELHI BUTTER CHICKEN, GOAT BIRYANI, METHI CHAMAN especially having travelled to India many times and dining at high end restaurants. DO NOT order the PUDINA LACHHA PARATHA!! It was soooo much pudina in it was crazy, thry just spilled it on the paratha . I would not try or recommend this restaurant at this moment. I hope they increase their standards and become a true good fine dining restaurant because the location and ambience is beautiful but until they get the product/food right which is the most important thing in a restaurant, I'll pass for now!!! read more

Finally an upscale Indian restaurant! We had a wonderful experience from the first course to the last. I read some of the 1 and 2 star reviews and it's obvious they are comparing it to the many many Indian restaurants that offer buffets and are at a mid to low price point. I'm not knocking those but you cannot go to Sanjh expecting to pay $20 a person. The price points are going to be higher and the experience is completely different. The amount of money they must have spent to create a beautiful, upscale dining experience from wait staff to the world renowned chefs (not to mention the bar), furniture, place settings, down to the finest details is what you are also going for. If you go to a fine restaurant, you should expect to pay 100-150 per person as a general rule. We tasted a good variety of the foods in all sections of the menu and everything tasted so good and was cooked perfectly. The lamb chops, goat curry, salmon, dosa, naan, main course meals, and all three desserts we tasted were delicious. If you are looking for an upscale Indian restaurant with great service and food, visit Sanjh. It is definitely not a place to go if you want to feed the entire family for $100. I find it ridiculous that we can't support an Indian restaurant that wants to compete with all the upscale ones in Dallas. It's time we had an Indian restaurant that can compete with upscale Japanese, Italian, American, Mediterranean, Mexican, etc... I would recommend it and have to my friends and relatives. Incredible! From the service to the food, Sanjh is exceeding expectations! We started with the Aloo Samosa, Bharwan Paneer Tikka, and the Tandoori Jhinga - all of which were 10/10 amazing! Paneer had such good flavor, samosas were perfect in size and taste! For mains, we got the Saag Paneer, Dal Makhani, and Old Delhi Butter Chicken, with both garlic and butter naan + rice. The Saag Paneer is a unique take on the dish but well worth it! The paneer is soft and doesn't taste chewy like every other restaurant. The butter chicken was rich and perfect in spice level. BUT Y'ALL - let me tell you. This dal makhani was AMAZING. I'd go back just for a bowl of this dal alone, it was creamy and straight perfection. The best dal makhani I've had in quite some time! The naan was thin and soft, just how you'd want it to be. Lastly, we had the ladoo dessert, and, while I'm not the biggest ladoo fan, these were 6 small sized ladoos in a variety of flavors that were very unique and a great ending to the whole experience. Overall, Sanjh lives up to the hype (my photos don't do the food justice), but I definitely recommend everyone go! read more

That's the most expensive single glass of iced tea in the USA to my knowledge. Ate here a little over a week ago on a Monday night. The dining room is beautiful, our waitress was friendly, and the food was very good. However, to echo some other reviewers, the pricing is too high. Is the customer paying a premium for the dining room itself? Two drinks (one alcoholic, one a mocktail) two entrees, and a bread (not naan--I can't remember which, it was a suggestion by server) was $200. The 20% service fee wasn't disclosed and was a sour note added to what had otherwise been a nice evening. As a note to the restaurant, unfortunately an undisclosed service charge is likely to alienate some of your customers and a deterrent to repeat business. I am someone who has been deterred. Truly incredible food. Fresh ingredients, gorgeous presentation, and incredibly memorable. Beautiful location with incredible service in terms of timing, attentiveness, and knowledge about the food to provide recommendations. They were even accommodating to my friend who is vegan and made her a vegan dessert not on the menu. I'm shocked to see anyone have anything but a 5-star review. Good food but insanely expensive. If this was an Indian restaurant in the Venetian or at Wynn or heck, even downtown Dallas, I would rate it higher. Unfortunately I post from the perspective of someone who lives in the neighborhood and was really looking forward to a new restaurant where I could frequently go or otherwise just order from on a regular basis like I do weekly from Pacific Table, Hugo's or Cork and Pig. Alas, this place makes it impossible to do so because well ... I can't afford it. And that's saying something considering that those other 3 places I mentioned aren't exactly cheap either. But $7 for tap water?!?! $9 for a tiny naan (the server, rightfully so as it turned out, advised us that they're small and we would need several for our meal and we obliged ... at $9 per of course)?!?! $35 for 3 pieces of cheese?!?! $40 for 5 spoonfulls of chicken?!?!? $45 for ... oh, you get the idea. The place is otherwise really nice and they've clearly invested a lot. But at the end of the day the food is just not worth the money and unless Irving has all of a sudden become a fashionable destination, I'm afraid they're pricing out the repeat customers that the other places around thrive on. In the meantime, I'll stick to Desi District 5 minutes away where the food is 80% as good at 20% of the cost and I'll visit these guys for the ocassional cocktail a couple times a year or if someone else is paying. read more
