While we enjoyed the food, I was disappointed by how the staff handled table space after we finished eating. We came not just to eat, it's not a drive-through restaurant we went to spend time together and talk. After being seated and made to feel welcome, we were asked to leave because the restaurant was busy. This meant we had to continue our conversation outside in 20-degree weather, which was uncomfortable and frustrating. I understand the need to manage busy times, but asking guests to leave immediately after dining -- isn't an experience I would expect from a restaurant that encourages patrons to relax and enjoy their time. My experience at Sanjh for brunch buffet was fun and delicious. I had the best waitress that was so attentive. The manager and staff came over to ask how I was doing. I enjoyed the live food demonstrations. The food flavors were unique and delicious. The butter chicken was the best I've had with slight smoky flavor. I was kinda hesitant initially due to the negative reviews, but glad I gave this place a try since I just love Indian cuisine so much. The inside and outside ambiance elevate my dining experience. What a cool experience! This is one of the best Indian Restaurants in DFW and the first one with a nice modern and clean ambiance. I started with NH44 cocktail which was a cucumber lemon mocktail. The samosas were good but definitely on the spicy end for me. The daal makhani was the BEST dish for sure. Super creamy rich and flavorful. The khumb hara pyaaz was this really nice Indian dish- i felt it lacked some Indian flavor but overall good. The tandoori naan was good but the garlic naan was just amazing. Every single thing we ordered here was awesome. Service was fantastic. Ambience was the right one for our little celebration. The location - on Lake Carolyn in Irving - is picturesque, Perfect for a pre or post meal stroll. Our hostess Gayatri was patient with our questions, helpful with suggestions and made us feel welcome. We will absolutely come back here for the next special occasion. This is definitely the place to come for an upscale Indian food experience. It would be a great date spot if you're trying to impress. There was nothing special about the food. It was good, but nothing wowed us. We got goat, and it was more bones than meat. The butter chicken was good and the chickpea dish was good. The samosas and pani puri were tasty, but I wasn't impressed with their garlic naan. It was a bit too charred for my liking. I got a beverage that had sandalwood in it, and I liked it. My friend suggested this restaurant for our lunch as she had eaten there twice before and said it was good. This is totally gourmet Indian food so be ready for some twists to traditional cuisine. When we were looking at the menu, my friend told me to pick the dishes as she ended up ordering the same thing the two times she was there. So I decided on Bharwan Paneer Tikka, Bhinfi Do Pyaza and Roti. My friend laughed and said that is exactly what she had ordered. The server then suggested we try Saag Angeer Ke Kebab so we ordered that instead. The Saag Kebab was good taste wise but a bit soft in texture to my taste. The Bhindi was excellent as was the roti. Add to that, the service is exceptional, they serve you everything like a fine dining restaurant, which this is. My friend ordered a drink and I had sparkling water. The bill came and it is not for the faint hearted, so be ready to drop some $$. 1 appetizer, 1 entree, 1 side, 1 drink, 1 sparkling water and the bill was over $100, thus my 4 starts. Charming, friendly, genuinely caring. Ambiance is warm and energetic; it was busy with lots of conversation going on so we're not talking quiet and cozy, more like happy and upbeat. Food was amazing. We had hors d'oeuvres (blue cheese bread incredible), then paneer with spinach, butter chicken, and prawn mango curry. We went to Sanjh to celebrate a special occasion. The first thing you notice is the decor and seating which is beautiful and comfortable. The lighting it possibly a bit too dim for some, but thats likely personal preference. The menu has some very interesting options and thats what attracted us to the restaurant at first. We were so confused what to order. The food is not bad at all to be honest, but: 1) the production value and drama of it doesn't match up with the taste, 2) the portions are extremely small, 3) the decent taste and tiny portions don't justify the price. I appreciate the attempt to introduce a elevated, fine dining experience, but it takes away from the generosity and abundance of flavour and satisfaction in Indian food and makes it a bit unwelcoming. No real guidance with respect to ordering. Server didn't ask if we had been there or what we liked. When we asked what she recommended she pointed out only 2 dishes. Our dining companions were seated at the bar to wait for us while we were already seated (thankfully we saw them and caught the error). So while I thought the food was excellent and earned them a 4* review, the value and service were not there this place is a 3.5* Also there was an automatics 20% gratuity added to our party of 4, which is fine. I've been skeptical about this place based on the reviews but really wanted to give it a try before judging (We opted for lunch primarily for this reason) but hate to say it but the reviews are right. I will say the service was on point throughout the meal, the manager lady who was in the front in the blue suit was very prompt and courteous making sure we had a good time and our kiddo was taken care of. However the food was just blah! For the price point (even during lunch) you would expect some incredibly seasoned yet flavorful food but again just fell short. We tried 3 entrees, the Butter Chicken (Decent and the sauce was the saving grace to salvage the meal), The Fish Roast was quite tasty but I cannot fathom how someone would order this and consider it lunch. The portion size was just unacceptable and I'm not one to complain about portion size ! We also got the shrimp yetti sukka that sounded great on the menu but again just felt flavorless like the shrimp was prepared separately and the sauce separately as well. The bread assortment was solid, the dhal was good. The starters were a bit odd? The 2 salads were a kale salad and Rucola? But the soup was a chicken shorba which was tasty. Again just felt like a mismatch of lunch options. My wife got the gimlet cocktail and it was just not well balanced, the green chilie was way too overpowering. Again despite the lackluster food I do want to call out the staff and the manager who were amazing hosts, the manager chased us down after we left the restaurant as her staff had forgotten my wife's birthday dessert and made sure we came back to celebrate it which again was very sweet and thoughtful and could have been easily ignored since we already paid and left the restaurant. Came here for dinner randomly on a Friday night with my parents. It was super busy so we had to wait for 30-40 min for a table. The lady at the front was super sweet and accommodating and so was the staff. We were originally sat outside because there was no room inside, but got moved inside within 10 minutes of being seated. The restaurant itself is gorgeous. I felt like I was in one of the fancy restaurants I visited in Mumbai. We ordered the Lamb Chops as an appetizer and the Delhi Butter Chicken & Lal Maas for dinner with butter naan. The food itself was delicious! The only reason I'm giving a 4 is because after waiting for almost 40 min to be seated the food also took another 40 min. Luckily we had gotten at least the lamb chops quicker (which I would think would take longer) but the butter chicken and lal mass took forever. We were starving and my parents were restless. Upon arrival we were greeted by a few nice staff members and the main entry doors opened up to a beautiful dining room. The first impression was great but the experience steadily went down hill from there. We had a reservation for a party of six at 6PM (made several days in advance). When we arrived the restaurant was fairly empty, with the exception of a few tables, yet none of the open tables were ready for a party of six. All of the circle booths on the 1st floor were set up for parties of 5 and they didn't look to be spacious enough to add another seat so we asked for outside seating. We were told no problem and directed to follow the hostess, after walking through the entire patio she awkwardly let us know that none of the tables were big enough to fit six people then led us back inside. Then we were taken upstairs and waited/watched as they finished preparing a table for us. While the table was ultimately fine, the upstairs was unusually warm and lacked airflow. Once seated and ready for our meal, our server jumped directly into asking for orders. We were never asked if this was our first time dining at Sanjh, which was a critical misstep as we were never explained how the menu was intended to work or offered recommendations on how/what to order. We ordered a few appetizers (Dal, Samosas, Paneer, and Lamb Chop) and an entree for each person (Butter Chicken x 4, Signature Goat Curry x2, Chicken and Vegetarian Biryani, and naan). We were under the impression that apps were shared and mains were individual but when it came to the table they served it all out to us family style. This was okay, but we all wish that it was explained before ordering along with portion sizes as we could have easily ordered 3 curry dishes, instead of 6, along with the Biryanis and had PLENTY of food for the table. In regard to food, I would say that the lamb chop appetizer stood out as having the best flavor and was probably my favorite dish. Followed by that, the chicken biryani was also very tasty. I found that the curries lacked a deep flavor profile and I wouldn't seek this restaurant out for my craving of Indian curry. Additionally, I found that the dal was flavorful but very thick. Other places I've been traditionally have a more soupy texture, I'm not sure what is proper but this is the first time I've had one with such a thick texture and I'm but sure if I cared for it as much. We went on a Saturday evening. The ambiance was nice, the whole area where Sanjh is located had a nice vibe. We were greeted by a cheerful host who had our reservations. The table was ready, and set up very well! Our server was pleasant and well versed with the menu. This was impressive as he was not Indian, but explained the menu well and made excellent recommendations since this was our first trip to Sanjh. Great fine Indian dining experience in DfW! We ordered chicken and mutton appetizers, curries, dal and a variety of naan. The food was excellent, especially recommend the Better chicken, reminded e of the butter chicken for my childhood days in Delhi.
