I tried a couple of their craft cocktail which were really well made with elaborate garnishes. I tried the butter chicken which was good and so was the service. I sat by the bar and the bartenders were very attentive and friendly. It's a beautifully decorated and marketed as an upscale restaurant so expect a pretty penny from the bill. Over all it was a good experience but a bit overpriced. I've had similar if not better Indian food in irving are where there are plenty of great options to choose from for the cuisine. read more

We went on a Saturday evening. The ambiance was nice, the whole area where Sanjh is located had a nice vibe. We were greeted by a cheerful host who had our reservations. The table was ready, and set up very well! Our server was pleasant and well versed with the menu. This was impressive as he was not Indian, but explained the menu well and made excellent recommendations since this was our first trip to Sanjh. Great fine Indian dining experience in DfW! We ordered chicken and mutton appetizers, curries, dal and a variety of naan. The food was excellent, especially recommend the Better chicken, reminded e of the butter chicken for my childhood days in Delhi. Tadka daal was also amazing The Hyderabadi mutton kebab needs work, it was too mushy and did not have structure Overall, we liked it a lot, will definitely go back. Cannot think of any other fine dine Indian restaurant in and around this area. Have tried it a couple of times. It does feel heavy on your pocket even if you are going there for a celebration. The main course is enough for only one person and combined with naan, it can go upto $60. And this does not include the starters or the drinks or the dessert! The entire staff was extremely kind and helpful from the moment we walked in to our very last bite. The location is beautifully decorated. I love that Sanjh is next to water with a great view. I was able to make the reservation for the same day. While standard seating was full the high top was not an issue. My husband and I tried the Lamb as an app, old and new school butter chicken with garlic naan as the entree, and ras malai for dessert. The butter chicken does come with strips of naan as well. It was also my birthday so the staff helped me celebrate with a beautiful chocolate cake. We couldn't leave Sanjh without trying their well recommend cocktails. This place is incredibly unique and exudes an exquisite atmosphere. I had the delightful choice between waterfront or inside seating. The customer service was exceptional, Clarita was a huge welcoming help, and made my experience so effortlessly memorable.I'm quite extroverted, and the way the employees greeted me, introduced themselves, and engaged in a wonderful conversation was truly heartwarming. But the real highlight was the food -absolutely phenomenal! I savored the Sanjh Signature Meat Curry, and let me tell you, it was an absolute culinary delight. The food is outstanding. The service is fantastic. Drinks are stellar and the bartenders know their stuff. Just be aware that the prices are sky high. Expect double the cost of the same dish at most other Indian spots in town and smaller portions. Other spots charge 18-23 for most dishes while Sanjh charges 30-45. If you are even slightly on a budget and get rubbed the wrong way by spending $$$$ you may want to reconsider coming here. And there is a reason you see a thousand google reviews that are different than yelp. Strangely, toward the end of the meal, they bring you a QR Code and ask you to scan it a make a review on google "right now, it will only take a minute". Pretty weird and little against industry protocol. But I'll repeat my opening sentence: The food is outstanding. The service is fantastic. My wife and I had a great experience. The food was great! Great flavors! We see some negative comments but we don't think they are accurate. Service was amazing - very attentive, very helpful staff! We went on a Saturday for lunch. The restaurant has great ambiance as well. Go try it for yourself, keep an open mind and enjoy yourself. Remember, this is elevated fine dining indian food. We will be going back as the menu changes and we have a lot more dishes on our list there to try! We ordered the chicken biryani, laal maas, shrimp and mango curry, and the rasmali dessert. I really struggled with this rating, because Sanjh has - hands down - the best, most genuine Indian food I've ever tasted outside of India. And I've tasted a LOT within this genre. The food and ambiance, taken on their own, truly deserve a Michelin star, if not two. Taste wise, Sanjh is easily a top 10 DFW restaurant when considering these two elements on their own. The truly painful part to write about is the service. And in large part, that's because it's SO damn friendly. The wait staff and manager we encountered were unfailingly kind, sweet, amazing human beings. They were also super helpful, efficient, and attentive. They could not possibly have been nicer. What's the problem then? Well, in addition to being very tasty and very beautiful, Sanjh is awfully expensive. In our case, over $500 for 2 people expensive. And that's perfectly fine if warranted. This said, such high expense must be accompanied by ultra high-end service professionalism. And in spite of all the wonderful positives mentioned above, the service levels at Sanjh are anything but. Sadly, the lovely Sanjh staff are woefully, if not embarrassingly unpolished. - Wine service was 10/10 for the attempt, but 4/10 in execution for so many different reasons; - 2-top table space was embarrassingly inadequate, with no supplemental solution such as a small side table; - Manager couldn't possibly have been kinder but crossed the line when she commented on our eating habits -- an egregious "fine dining 101" no-no in spite of how good humored or well intentioned; - Generally intrusive and overly familiar service for the price point throughout the entire service experience. I am not for even a moment suggesting that the staff at Sanjh should be any less friendly. However, they must learn to balance their beautiful kindness with a bit more "less is more" discretion, maintaining a consistent and respectful distance, exuding greater service confidence, and portraying much greater dignity and class. This is an extremely difficult art, but one that must be more competently mastered to command the price points on offer. read more

Wonderful service! Reminds one of restaurants in India because they actually serve you the food. Ashita was our primary hostess assisted by Erica and Bipana. All of them were very friendly, warm and knowledgeable about the dishes on the menu. They took wonderful photos for us as well. Good location next to the water in Las Colinas. Well designed and appropriately lit bar and restaurant. The cocktail menu inspired by Yangdup Lama has some interesting drinks. We tried the Mausambi Lemonade & Yann's Old fashioned. Went with a large group for their Labor Day brunch buffet, and it was amazing. The staff were so kind and accommodating. They were quick and attentive and went above and beyond- for me especially. When I asked if any of the options at the buffet were vegan, they quickly talked to the chef and instead of having me focus on just a few dishes available, they brought me individual courses and options throughout our entire meal. Sanjh has a long way to go to display the standards for the market they are trying to get into. Ambiance is good and place is located in upscale neighborhood. Service was average. Server did not explain the menu or asked about allergies. Wine glasses wee full of lint. I requested a side of onions which never came. They were supposed to serve individual desserts but the only brought two sets for a party of 4. We kept on waiting and upon asking we were offered two more and to my surprise neither of the three desserts were Indian. I'm so grateful that we took her suggestions! They were way better than our own choices. She suggested the "Indian cheese" and the butter chicken. The sauces were incredible! I don't even know what the dessert was called. She called it "Indian cheesecake". It tasted like all of my favorite childhood cereals in one. I could taste all of the flavors at once like I was a real food critic. It was my second favorite item. My favorite item was the cumin drink. I've never had anything like it! Thought I'd give upscale Indian a try, the food was great, but I do think going to a regular Indian restaurant is better + worth the price. Expect to spend more than your typical Indian restaurant. You're basically paying for the service and presentation. I went for the experience and I enjoyed it however I don't think I would do it again. Try it for your own judgment though. read more

Upscale Disappointment with a Silver Lining As a chef who has had the privilege of working with one of the best chefs in India, I recently dined at Sanjh an upscale establishment I had high hopes for, given its reputation and price point. While the service and staff were exceptional, the food left much to be desired. From the moment we were seated, the service was impeccable. The staff was attentive, friendly, and professional, ensuring we were comfortable and well taken care of throughout our visit. Unfortunately, the quality of the food did not match the excellent service. The food we ordered lacked flavor and authenticity , leaving much to be desired. For the main course, I ordered paneer makhni and malai kofta, paneer makhni gravy had a strong bad taste of uncooked onions,making it taste bitter, makhni is supposed to have a mild creamy texture with fine gravy and not lumps of onions and other vegetables, malai kofta was burnt while frying, we could easily see it, and the stuffing was of overly roasted flour which made it taste dry, there were barely any paneer , potatoes or veggies in the kofta(which is the main ingredient in a veg kofta).The presentation was nice, but that was the only positive aspect. The dish was bland and far from the culinary excellence I anticipated. The dry and tasteless food , make it a struggle for us to finish . The tandoori roti was great so we ate it with the mint chutney they served. Given the high prices and the restaurant's upscale branding, I expected much more. While the service and staff were top-notch, the food failed to deliver, leaving me with an overall disappointing dining experience. I hope Sanjh can improve its culinary offerings to match the excellent service provided by its staff. read more

So, we got a reservation after reaching restaurant and was told 45 min wait while more than half of the tables were empty. When i asked tables are empty I was told that those are reserved online. So, after 45 min we went again and were told to wait 20 min again. Tables were still empty. When 20 min were over we were asked to wait 30min more even when the tables were empty. They are creating fake reservations showing its all reserved as a pr technique to create fake hype or demand or they are understaffed. And when i asked that we have already been waiting for so long and you have tables empty and no one is showing up for almost an hour you should seat others. The girl rudely replied you should reserve tables a well in advance for fine dine spaces which are very popular. Come-on no one knows about you for now, your restaurant just opened. read more

The decor is beautiful and the restaurant has a nice interior aesthetic. However, the food is significantly overpriced for what you get and doesn't seem "fine dining" worthy. Who wants to spend $9 for one piece of naan?? Additionally, this restaurant is not accommodating to people with nut allergies. It does not state this on the menu, but when we asked, we were told that 90% of the menu was premade where the sauces or toppings had nuts, and these items could not be switched out or accommodated for someone with allergies. If I had known that when I made the reservation, I would not have brought my friend with the allergies to Sanjh for her birthday! We ended up having one appetizer and then going elsewhere for the main event. read more

Decor looks pretty chic and $7 valet is a great option. I ordered the Dilli 6 which was a good drink option. : The Appetizer - Bharwan Panner Tikka was a bomb! Three big pieces of paneer that was smoky and marinated well stuffed with creamy yumminess. Loved the play of textures. : For main course we tried the Methi Chaman aka Malai Kofta style gravy side and the Khumb Hara Pyaz. The Methi Chaman was nicely done but at $35 the Khumb Hara Pyaz was a disappointment - it was insipid, tasteless, and lacked salt spice or flavor. Not sure why they would serve something so ordinary - nothing remotely creative here at such a hefty price . : Masala Roti at $8 was at best meh. I live down the street and heard so many wonderful things about this place. So my girl and I decided to check it out tonight. I ordered the duck for my main and she ordered the mushrooms. Both were flawless in flavor and presentation. We had the prawns as an appetizer and the kale salad. All of the food items were exceptional. I eat at high-end restaurants often, and I do think that their prices are on par with other upper scale places in the city. For example, the duck at most restaurants is around $45. Same basic portion size. They have a decent wine by the glass selection. Nothing too abusive. Orrin Hatch glass of wine was $20. The staff is very friendly. They give you new plates for each course. And they are very attentive. So I think the overall customer service, ambience and food quality is 4 to 5 stars. People may think the prices are a little aggressive or ambitious, but the guy back there really knows how to cook, and the construction of these dishes is world class. The only thing I would suggest to the owners to reevaluate is their 20% hidden gratuity. I don't mind spending 20% on gratuity for food. Often times I tip 22 to 25% on most meals. But, an automatic 20% on bottles of wine may make some people freak out at the table. I know very successful people that have more money than I, that would never tip 20% on bottles of wine. They'd scoff at the idea. So they have to be more forthcoming about this automatic 20% gratuity. Or eliminate it outright. read more
