    Unagi ten don
    Allison Y.

I was recommended this place by a friend and was really surprised how good it was especially considering it's in a mall! The food was very fresh and tasted authentic. They give large portions too. We ordered the unagi ten don 5/5, the chicken karaage 4/5, dragon roll 5/5, and Eskimo roll 5/5. My favorite dish was definitely the unagi don. The tempura that came with it was so lightly breaded and perfectly fried! The service was excellent, there was always someone ready to fill our water or clean away dirty dishes. It is a pretty casual restaurant, and was very full for a Saturday, but we were able to still walk in and get a table for 2 at 7:30 pm. They also take reservations so we'll know for next time. This is a more authentic style Japanese restaurant.

After seeing great reviews, including from KQED, I decided to try this sushi spot in the Oakridge Mall. We had a reservation and were seated immediately upon arrival at 6:30 P.M. on Tuesday. Most tables were occupied, which was a good sign. Our server came immediately to ask for our drink orders. We weren't ready, so asked for some time. She returned probably within a minute, so i quickly decided on a sake flight and my husband ordered a Japanese soda, original flavor. The server asked for our food order and we requested more time. A minute later she was back with our drinks and asked for our food order again. Sigh. I guess there is something to be said for efficiency, but it was my birthday dinner and I didn't like feeling rushed. For food, we had the sashimi appetizer, 3 pieces each of tuna and salmon ($21). Both were fresh and decent sized pieces. We also had the Crunch Roll ($17) and the Spicy Trio Roll ($19). I could have done without the wasabi pickles and the shiso leaf on the latter. Overall, everything was fresh and tasty. Prices a tad on the high side but not outrageous. Service was a miss with feeling rushed and my husband received the strawberry flavored soda versus the original he ordered.

Food: Food is really good. We ordered rolls : rainbow, crunch and spicy trio. All were simply fantastic in flavor and taste and presentation. Loved the miso soup as well. Service: Good service. Quick, friendly and very accommodating of special needs like making everything for someone with shellfish allergies. They took very good care. Fantastic kudos to Alison, Rie, Margie, Divina, they were so good at their services! Thank you to our chefs as well! Will definitely come back! :) Ambience: Great sushi bar vibes. We could see our chefs dishing up our specials. Nice decor. Restrooms & Parking: No issues, it is inside the mall so the restrooms and parking are that of the mall. Clean well maintained restrooms. Parking does get busy during the weekends but manageable. All in all highly recommend!

Lunch box with agedashi tofu, futomaki rolls and teriyaki salmon

Came here for lunch on Thursday. The place was pretty busy around noon. Service was slower than we would like, even though they had 3 servers. We sat in the "patio", which wasn't bad as the mall itself wasn't that crowded. My husband and I each ordered a lunch box. I had agedashi tofu, futomaki rolls and teriyaki salmon. Quality was ok. For $19, it's a pretty good deal. I liked that they included edamame and hiyashi-wakame instead of the usual lettuce/carrot salad most other Japanese restaurants had in their lunch bentos. Would like to come back and try their omakase lunch or dinner.

After a recent Japan trip, I visited sanraku and I was delighted to find that I was reminded of the fresh, clean, refreshing taste of Japanese sushi. I got the salmon oyako and my friend got the bento box (only $19 at lunch). I'd highly recommend Sanraku considering the price point and freshness of the fish.

Lunch box with tonkatsu, futomaki, and gyoza
    Eric I.

Came here for lunch today and got the lunch box special for $19. It was pretty crowded and it took awhile to get seated, not because there were no tables, but only two servers who also seated guests. The food tasted pretty good! I was close to giving it a full 5 stars, but here's where it didn't quite meet the mark: the tonkatsu was right on the edge of being burnt, and as a result it was borderline dry and was close to tasting burnt. For the futomaki, another piece would have been nice. They fully disclose it's 2pcs vs 3 if you got the CA roll, but for $19, it just seemed like 3 pcs would have been right. Other than that, all was good and we were pleased. I would have still been hungry at dinner, but at lunch it was fine. We sat "outside", which means in the mall, but in the restaurant, but totally fine. Servers were nice, even though they were clearly busy and understaffed. They refilled water too. So no complaints there. We'd come back again. Probably like to try the nigiri next time as we'd be open to doing the omakase at some point if the nigiri were good.

Chanwanmushi (Egg Custard with Chicken, Shrimp, Mushrooms, Seaweed?)
    Kirsten C.

my mom got the sushi tokujo, i got the sashimi moriawase, and josh got the salmon oyako for the sashimi moriawase: 1. hamachi -- super fresh 2. scallops -- such yummy little bites 3. tuna -- yum 4. tai / madai -- eh... probably my least favorite 5. shiro maguro / bincho (albacore/white tuna) -- OH MY GOSH. literally so soft and probably my favorite 6. salmon -- really good too we also shared the chawanmushi and a grilled squid for the table. the chawanmushi was yummy but kind of tiny... and the squid was good overall--the tentacles were a little tough, but the head/body part was cooked perfectly you honestly wouldn't expect a random sushi restaurant inside the mall to be this good, but i really enjoyed this place!!! the inside felt really clean and honestly pretty authentic japanese too

    Mia K.

Eh. Wouldn't go again. It wasn't too bad but if I want sushi, I want it to be good. The fish didn't taste fresh but it also didn't taste bad. It was mid. The squid was pretty good but I think the sauce carried it. And the bento box was good but pretty average. Service was good. The ambiance was not the best since it's in a mall but it wasnt a deal breaker.

    Sake Toro
    Lisa S.

Our favorite sushi spot with the MOST delicious seared salmon belly. Such a hidden gem that's located inside a mall. Not the most amazing environment, but for quality and price, so worth it. Highly recommend the eel roll, dragon, and the 5 pc seared salmon toro.

Hotate and white tuna nigiri and tuna and salmon sashimi: all good 4.5 stars
    Eve K.

Wasn't expecting much for a mall restaurant but quality Japanese food. Food: 4.5 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 3 Cost to worth it rating: 4 (rolls ~$18, nigiri ~$8) Opentableable: no but via Yelp Return worthiness: yes Highlights: - High quality sushi especially the nigiri seafood. For the nigiri like that they ask if want wasabi or not - Dragon roll excellent perfect tempura texture and tasty unagi. One of the better versions I've had. 5 stars - Hotate: large hefty portion of scallop that tasted fresh. Not on the regular menu but the daily listing on the table. 5 stars - White tuna: also large slice 4.5 stars - Miso fish appetizer: great flavor snd tender fish. 4.5 stars - Sake: tons of options and waiter helped us pick a bottle to share - Seating: inside or "outside " uncovered in the mall - Miso soup only $2 and lots of seaweed and tofu - Also have boxes for full dinner. I hear sesame chicken is good and kids meal comes with edamame and yams - Loyalty service where get $$ Midlights - Soft shell crab roll: was fine but not as standout as the others. 3.5 stars - Just a few special rolls to choose from and most are spicy/mayo saucey but have standard rolls too Lowlights: - Service: could not get a hold of a server to order more to save our lives. Waited at least 15 minutes to get anyone. Flagged one and he looked at me and walked the other way. Had a good meal here and would come back.

    Una Ten Donburi
    Connie W.

Met up with friends for my birthday celebration. Upon arriving, I liked the look and feel of wooden slats. It is earthy, simple, and calming. The food was good too. I had the Una Ten Donburi. Nicely arranged, and everything tasted great. Meat was tender, rice had lots of flavor with sauce and mix-ins, Tempura shrimp crisp texture complemented the soft fish/rice.

We have struggled to find good sushi places in this area, and this place ended that for us. I feel silly saying this but the nigiri was so good we forgot to take pictures of them... Everything was super fresh and delicious. The meal far exceeded our expectations for a place in a mall.

Stopped in for a quick dinner before the movies and had a great experience. Service was friendly, fast, and attentive. The restaurant was clean and the food was good. Food quality is good, all the veggies and meat were fresh. They sadly didn't have enoki mushrooms, but they had shiitake and some others so that was fine. The beers were very refreshing and light, sort of like if cheap American beer was made to actually taste good. Like imagine Budweiser without the hint of cigarette filters and moldy socks. Especially on a hot day this was very nice. Service was fast and the servers were very nice, coming by many times to check on us and promptly refilling. Although the restaurant was pretty empty at 5 pm on a Saturday, not too surprising as it was a while before the dinner rush I guess. So... why 3 stars? It all comes down to the flavorless broth and sauce that seems to be de rigueur for shabu shabu. We tried both the "original" soy/seaweed flavor, which just tastes like water, and garlic miso, which has a very mild flavor. And then we used the two dipping sauces which I are a creamy sesame and I guess a ponzu, which I added some green onion and garlic to. The combination of the very light broths and the very light sauces is... very light. I guess someone might say you "taste the ingredients" more compared to the vastly superior hot pot where you add some flavor via the cooking medium and have a wide variety of flavorful ingredients to make a customized sauce. I can somewhat understand the perspective of wanting to mostly taste the flavors of the raw ingredients... but I don't agree with it. To me shabu shabu is basically hot pot minus flavor, and hence kind of a waste. I will say, pricing is relatively good here. Our bill was under $150 for a ton of food with everyone feeling very full. The restaurant itself is very clean and they have a large and convenient parking lot. If only it was a hot pot restaurant it definitely had all the ingredients for a 5 star review.

This restaurant used to be my favorite place, but not after my recent experience on 9/5/26. It was Friday night, but only 3 parties were already dining in. I ordered an Assorted Sashimi Plate and Saba Shioyaki Dinner after another party was seated. It took them about 20 minutes to bring out an uncooked Saba Shioyaki (Mackerel), while my sashimi (uncooked fish) dinner was still somewhere in limbo. I also realized that people who sat next to us got their food, although they came after. I refused the Saba Shioyaki Dinner and asked for the menu so I could order Hamachi Karma and Hawaiian poke salad. Another 15 minutes later, they brought out the Poke and Hamachi Karma. I was making a joke with my friend that hopefully the Karma is not uncooked. Son of a Gun! It was gelatin inside; we could see the pink bone! My friend was upset, so he stood up and complained to the waiter. My sashimi dinner finally came out, and it tasted just like frozen fish. At that point, I was completely done with this place. I paid my bill with a $10 reward card discount and gave my extra card away to the other party who had just sat down. This gesture meant that I wouldn't come back here anytime soon.
