Beware of this restaurant, especially during Covid! While waiting to be seated we observed the server just giving a quick wipe of the table top, no disinfectant spray during or before wiping. I brought along my own so we overlooked that. They had closed off the second half of the restaurant and were seating all guests in tbe same area. The area was 3/4 filled and when the manager seated her second table of six in an already filled area, i asked the waitress if she couldn't spread the groups out, that we were very concerned about so many in a confined area because of covid. We were totally blown off by the waitress and the manager. Don't know about how others feel about this manager putting money before health and not looking out for customers who come in to support her business in spite of possible contamination, but I will not support their lack of concern in the future...if they are that lax about covid in the front of the restaurant, can you trust them to be careful in the back where you can't see?? read more

This restaurant use to be at the top of the list when I wanted good, authentic Mexican food. That has certainly changed in the past 3 months. I visited the restaurant with 5 other friends one evening and ordered a variety of food, a pitcher of margaritas, and chips and queso. Our food came out as expected and all was well. As one of the group members dug into her enchilada, she pulled out a long strand of light colored hair with the bite on her fork (we initially thought was cheese). We called the waiter over who apologized, asked if she wanted anything else (which she politely said no), and took the plate away. All of 20 minutes later, a woman who identified herself as the manager walked over with the plate. She proceeded to stand and stroke the long strand of hair at our table and stated that no one in her kitchen had hair that color. Therefore, it couldn't have come from her kitchen. We explained to her that the food had just come out, the piece of hair was baked into the enchilada (not laying on top), and the person who ordered it had her hair in a ponytail. The manager continued to state that it was no one's hair in her restaurant. At that point, we proceeded to ask for the check, as to avoid any further of a scene. My friends and I have spent countless hours and money in this restaurant (our bill that night was over $100). To be insulted in front of other customers as if we were trying to scheme in order to get out of paying for a $2 ala cart item was highly unprofessional and just plain ridiculous (especially when we didn't ask for anything in return other than for it to be taken away). I don't know what the woman's name is but some customer service training would certainly be warranted. In addition, removing that $2 charge would have been much more beneficial than the fall out of losing a large group of regular customers. read more

Horrible experience. My husband and I and another couple we are friends with cane to eat here. When we walked in there was a worker sitting down talking on the phone, looked right at us and kept talking on the phone did not acknowledge we were standing here waiting to get seated. So after a few minutes someone comes by and seats us at a table and we kindly asked if we could be seated at a booth. After a huff and an eye roll we were seated at a booth. Then our food came.... no flavor what so ever. Just not a good experience at all! None of the workers looked happy or willing to help. Won't be coming back. read more

I am befuddled by the positive reviews. I wanted so much to love this place, but almost every single thing about our experience was downright awful. Even though the restaurant's website touts their discounted happy hour drink prices, and even though I asked our server to confirm the happy hour - she said, "oh yes! We have our happy hour from 4-7", when we got our bill, our drinks were not discounted. When I pointed it out to our server, she said, "oh, yes, we have happy hour, but the drinks aren't discounted." Huh? What? Do you know what "happy hour" even means? The bill was for $27 and change, but then she came back to say, "oh, I made a mistake. It's $31." When I said, "wait, what?" She said, "I'll bring the bill back." When she did, it was exactly the same. When I looked at her quizzically, she started doing the math, none of which made sense. At this point, we just wanted out. It wasn't until we were in the car driving home that I realized they had shorted me on my change on top of the bill debacle. OK, now for the ice-cold food that was utterly lacking in every way. Even though we were one of two tables in the entire restaurant, the food took 23 minutes to come out (the clock is right there for all to see.) So you'd expect it to be perfect, right? But the rellano was vastly undercooked. The breading tasted raw and was utterly unappealing. The "giant" burrito was the size of most small tacos, with literally nothing in it but the meat. No lettuce. No tomato. No onion. Nada. All this is partly our fault - we should have sent everything back. It's just not something we typically do ... and we had been there for awhile already and wanted to get on with it. The chips and salsa were the highlight of our meal. Since Los Mariachis was featured on "Dirty Dining", we have only been eating Mexican at upscale restaurants. While this place is not upscale by any means (not that it even needed to be!); the food was hot, fresh, and delicious, the service was friendly and quick, and the beer was inexpensive and cold. Local resident and so happy to have found this somewhat new place from looking on Yelp for suggestions on Mexican food. Excellent real Mexican food and great service! Rafael our waiter we recognized from what we use to go to at Los Mariachi's was now there and a charm. Lovely roaming Mariachi band going table to table if you wanted. My wife and I took a chance going here on our 25th wedding anniversary and have found our place to go to for our Mexican fix even though it might be a 30 minute drive. Finally! A nice and clean Mexican restaurant in Largo. Restaurant is very nice and clean and well decorated. Food is amazing, hard to find a nice restaurant with unbelievable chicken quesadillas and many other choices on there very large menu. This is Taco Bell version of taco, where are my lime, cilantro, and onion? Where is delicious tortilla? I ate one, and didn't want any more. This was our fourth visit to the Santa Fe MexicanGrill and was disappointed with both the service and food, we ordered the No. 5, 6 and 10. The beef tacos were very bland, I tried to dress them up with the salsa and asked for some sour cream (was charged extra for that).. our waiter never returned to check on us and when we did manage to get his attention he sorta slouched on the table behind us as we called out our request. The strawberry margarita was great, my regular frozen margarita was watery and bland. Will be trying other Mexican restaurants for awhile and will check back at a later date to see if there are any improvements. read more

Even after all the other customers were gone, the cashier busied herself with some imaginary task and when I approached the register she refused to make eye contact with me. Phenomenal value with very good++ food, very good++ service, extremely clean and very friendly. A group of 6 or more of us get there for lunch at least once a week. My partner and I have been frequenting this restaurant for at least 2 years and have never had a complaint with anything. We are both ex-New Yorkers (Manhattan) who over the years spent most of our dining time outside of home. We may not have gourmet palettes, but we know good food from mediocre and this place we routinely recommend. Everyone has nothing but the best to say of the experience we have each time we go. This is very good food, all very fresh and always at the proper temperatures. I've spent my entire life in the food business - many aspects of it - and I am fully aware and certified in all areas of food preparation. For a number of years, I was in management with the finest in the restaurant business in Rochester, NY. Seriously, from college on, and even during college I have been employed in some aspect of the food industry: I really feel qualified to critique this establishment. And furthermore, I am invested to keep it open and to continue to highly recommend it, because, and only because, I want it to thrive; I want it to stay open realizing the success they deserve. It's a real tough business, and they work very hard with wonderful results. we ate here during the covid19 craziness, this was at the time where they had outside tables for for dine-in(but outside). the food was gross, the staff was apathetic. but most memorable was the horrid putrid smell from their grease trap or something coming from around the corner. it's like they havnt cleaned it decades. the smell was so bad I ended up leaving half my food their. the wife and I now remember this place as "the stinky restaurant". it's realy not something you want to be infamous for. read more

This has been our go to Mexican since they opened. Not anymore. We would go at least one a week but things are going downhill. Service used to be good...loved...Washington, now you are ignored. Sauce changed on the burrito and it is awful. On our last visit we changed tables twice and finally got our food to go. I have 5 grandchildren but this place was pure chaos with screaming kids. Forgot having a drink and conversation. If this is becoming a nursery we will not back. I would be totally embarrassed if my children behave in such a manner. read more

Just ate there tonight. The waiter was really nice. The menu has way too many items on it. This should be cut be cut at least in half. I ordered a monster burrito and my wife got the special dinner. The chips and salsa came out and the salsa was good and the chips tasted burnt. Our food came out and it did not taste good at all. No flavor in it and too much salt. I have eaten at chain restaurants here in town that taste better than this. I have had great Mexican food before, out west, and this place does not even rate in my book. So just to start off I'm not sure how long they have been there but if the quality of food stays the way it is do your selves a favor and just shut the doors. I had the Tres Amigos; it should of been called burrito soup. Everything was swimming in sauce, nothing was decernable and it all tasted the same, I had to drain some of the sauce off the plate into a cup. Secondly the smell behind the bar is deplorable no one has cleaned those floor or sink drains in months all you smell is sour citrus ! All of you should be ashamed of your selves for that alone It's nasty. The servers seemed lost and unsure of what was going on and worst of all my girlfriend found a rubber band and a piece of chicken in her mushroom quesadilla. I have been a chef for a long time and to me it just seemed that no one cared about the quality of food that was presented. I ate here once before when they first opened. Not impressed, but thought I'd give it another try. The place is filthy...the menus, windows, floors and counters were filthy. There were exposed cables hanging out of wall and a thermostat barely attached. The waitstaff hang out in the lobby area with pot holders and towels in their hands. I should have left then, but no, I stayed...big mistake. Our food came out on a plate and you couldn't tell there were 4 things on it. Just one pile of crap. And that's exactly what it tasted like. I took one bite of my burrito and one of the enchilada and I was done. They never asked if we wanted more chips, they gave my husband the wrong thing and my son said his corn tortillas were inedible. I should have went with my gut and walked out. There are plenty of places around where you can get authentic Mexican food. Do yourself a huge favor and go to one of those. I don't understood how you can have a food business and not take the time to keep it clean and presentable. read more

At first impression, this place doesn't seem like much. If there's a wait, you just stand in line until a table is available for you to be seated at. There's no bar area (yet), so you can't enjoy refreshments while you wait. The anticipation grows as you approach the front of the line. By this time you've picked up the wonderful aroma of their dishes, seen several smiling patrons depart and you get a sense that you've made a great decision to dine here. As you're seated in the cozy dining area and handed the varied and expansive menu, served fresh chips and delicious, fresh homemade salsa, you instantly know that you're about to be treated to a great meal. The food is fantastic here! The prices are very fair and servings are massive! It's obvious that everything is freshly made that day and any delay is well worth the wait. The only chink in the armor is the awful margarita mix they serve, but there are plenty of other drink options to suit almost anyone. Hopefully the owner will improve the margarita recipe and earn that coveted 5th star! We will definitely be back regardless! read more
