Man I wish I lived close by to Santino's like I used to. I once lived about 1 mile away. Now I am further away in Brookhaven. Used to pick up a pie a couple of times a month at least. Santino's is a little strip mall pizza/Italian restaurant. Parking is plentiful. Hours are a little limited and have changed a few times so check before going. Santino's has some of the best NYC style pizza in the Atlanta metro, if not the best. I have taken my family here more than once, and have even made the trip for it once since I left the area. Service is fine. Nothing amazing. What you expect for a strip mall family run pizza place. Prices are normal for a pizza joint. The 5 stars is for their great NYC style pizza. I love it!!! read more

By far our favorite pizza place. The crust is not too thick, not too thin. The cheese is a little buttery and rich but not overwhelming. We order pepperoni, sausage and green peppers and it's always delicious! The pizza is good when it comes to the table but it also reheats really well and is good cold too. The only downside is this is a family restaurant with video games and candy machines in the back room so on a Friday or Saturday night there are usually kids running back and forth. This is a popular place for kids sports teams to eat after games also. The noise level can get pretty high when they are busy but the booths offer a little privacy and the pizza is worth a little noise! read more

Solid joint with the BEST cheese ravioli around! I've been coming here for years just for the cheese ravioli. The filling is fluffy and light ricotta cheese, like nothing you've ever had. Not mushy and bland. Soooo good. I order it with broccoli, olive oil and garlic as the "sauce". Their beer pours are imperial which is nice (imperial is 20 oz while pint is 16 oz). The only reason I gave this place 4 and not 5 stars is because they up charge me $2 for the above "sauce" which is on their menu . Overall, I recommend checking this place out! read more

Santino's is the neighborhood Italian place! Wifey and I go there somewhat regularly...the pizza is good, but we tend to get pasta when we are there... I get the spaghetti with marinara (occasionally with meatballs) and wifey gets the cheese ravioli with marinara. Both are good and solid...not the super outstanding you get at some places..but that neighborhood one where we like and want it! Oh...they also have OUTSTANDING garlic bread...cannot eat too much of it with the pasta, but, boy is it good. One issue...wifey has a note from her doctor about her weight loss...and it allows her to order from the kids menu...Santino's has started refusing to do this. This is a bit disappointing and cost them one star from a service perspective...if it were a scam, I would agree with them...but...this is a health issue and they are ignoring it. My daughter was so excited for my son and I to go to this place. That's what is so disappointing about the experience. They were not friendly when we walked through the door. We were the only ones they didn't walk to a table. She point at where we were to sit. The table was dirty. I went to the counter to ask if someone could wipe down our table. The lady behind the counter looked as though I was an inconvenience to her. This is the first time in my life that I felt uncomfortable in a public place because I can't say that my brown skin had anything to do with the way we were treated. We originally rated this pizza place harshly due to an issue with the cheese sliding off the pie. We gave Santino's a second try, and then another, and they have been far better So far, they are the best we've tried in Alpharetta, and so we have adjusted our rating to 4 stars. I'm sitting in front of Santino's now writing this review. I can not believe what just occurred. I ordered Eggplant Parmesan and they brought it to the table burnt (it was oily too). It was so burnt that I showed the waitress and she took it back. She brought the same Eggplant Parmesan back to my table covered with more cheese. I peeled the cheese back to discover the same burnt, cut into eggplant Parmesan. I then show the manager and even try to cut the eggplant in front of him. I offered him the fork to try; he declined. He simply stated "that's how we cook it." I made sure to show the table next to me and get contact information in case anything I'm saying in disputed. I also took a picture. It's cliche to say, but I'll reiterate for the purpose of the review: any idiot can make decent pizza, but you really have to work at it to make it either really great or really terrible. Alessio's doesn't have the sort of pizza that should make anyone drive out from Atlanta to get, but it's certainly good, particularly for the area. This is very much a neighborhood joint, and the owners were obviously very aware of this because it's got that very comfortable, relaxed (for John's Creek, at least) atmosphere that you find in good, neighborhood places. The service is always really good and the prices are very reasonable. The pizza is New York style. Slices start at about $2.60, toppings on the slices are $0.60 or $0.80 per, depending on how fancy the topping is (gorgonzola, for instance, is a "gourmet topping"). You can also get two different kinds of slices at a discount - the New Yorker, which is loaded down with meat and veggies, and the Soho, which is tomatoes, gorgonzola and artichoke hearts - for $3.65. They also have Sicilian style slices but only offer them on the weekends. The full pizzas run $10-17, depending on what you're getting on it. But it's enough for either two very, very hungry people who want leftovers or 3-4 people who order something else. One thing I really like about this place: they have bottles of Tabasco up on the bar. I didn't think other people did that, especially in the Atlanta area. They also have pepper flakes and parmasean on every table. And I should mention that I also really like that they have a bar. It makes lonely guys like me more comfortable. They have several beers on tap, including at least one Sweetwater. They offer 16 or 20oz pours. Sweetwater's 420 is considered an import, and runs $4.50 for the 16. They do not do delivery. I'm sure they get called about this all the time so, if you're reading this within a few months of when I'm writing this, forget about it. The most annoying things here are, for one, the wealthy but poorly dressed, awkward suburban clientele from surrounding John's Creek (seriously, what's the deal with this town?) and the music. Gawd, that music. It's some satellite radio turned to the "cheese pop" channel. I think I prefer Taco Mac's "dinosaur rock that even Clear Channel stations don't like playing" satellite radio channel that they like to play. Even Kroger across the street has better music. So I would knock them for that and the beer prices. I realize they have to make money somewhere, but $4.50 for a Sweetwater 420 just seems excessive. How about $3.75? But I won't knock them much because I really do like this place and will continue to come here. Great little family Italian place. Any time either my family, or my wife's, is in town, they always ask to go to Alessio's. Their pastas are great. The Spaghetti san Pietro is one of my favorites. The Pizza is also very good. One slice of Manhattan Meat is a meal on it's own. The service can sometimes be a little slow. They seem to prefer hiring high school kids as waiters, which is fine, but sometimes they can be distracted or just a little off the ball. Nothing horrible by any means, but few of these kids are professional waiters. Even with that caveat, I have no hesitation going there any time we're going out to dinner. If you're in the mood for fancy food, they got it, if not, then a simple slice is there too. I would eaily recommend this place to anyone coming through the area. read more

This place is amazing. I moved to this side of 400 about last year June 2016 and this is my go to pizza place. Hate they are closed on sundays and they do not deliver. Always packed on Friday nights and Saturday nights when we place our order for pick up. Get sausage on your pizza and you will not regret it!!!! Recently having moved to Roswell, my husband and I have been looking for a fabulous pizza place to replace our old standby that we now live too far away from. We tried Alessio's on a Wednesday night for dinner. The place feels like a mom and pop restaurant, with your basic casual pizza shop atmosphere. They have a few tvs around the place, which isn't overly big, and were showing the hockey playoffs. We ordered the garlic bread and a large cheese pizza. The garlic bread was good, but was pretty garlicky and we found that we tasted the garlic quite a long time after we finished eating the bread. The pizza was decent - not fantastic but definitely not bad - but I was surprised at the size of the large pizza. While it had 8 slices, it wasn't as big as I expected a large to be. We also ordered beer by the pitcher, which was a much better deal than ordering it by the glass!! One bright spot about this place was the service - our waitress was super attentive, and was both quick and friendly. Overall, it was a great, casual pizza joint that might not be the best I've ever had, but will definitely be getting another visit from my husband and I when we're looking for some fast, friendly sit down pizza. read more

They did not keep the pizza in a warm oven so by the time i got there, it was cold. Not good when you have a 10 min drive back home. Santino's is a casual, family friendly restaurant at the corner of Haynes Bridge Road and Old Alabama. When I saw two signs on the outside promoting hot wings and funnel cakes, I was a bit skeptical about this "pizza" place, but my family had a great experience. The restaurant offers a couple of different local beers, several different pasta options, pizza by the slice until 8 pm or whole pizzas, and other options like the hot wings I mentioned. There are also a couple of TV's with sports on. I went with a Jekyll Hop Dang Diggity beer and the pepperoni and sausage pizza which was good. I liked the thin crust and toppings but would probably not get it for takeout since there are better pizza options around. I did enjoy it though. My wife loved her fettuccine and her garlic rolls were awesome. We were curious about the funnel cakes, so we ordered one and it was huge. It didn't look as good as the ones you see at fairs but it tasted just as good. It was big enough for at least 3 people. We'll definitely be back. Its pretty quiet in there for lunch, but I know dinner can get kinda busy. But it is fast, or faster then you would find at say Cheesecake Factory, and California Pizza Kitchen. Been coming here for over a decade. Used to be Alessio's. Almost exclusively get pizza. Being from Philly originally I'm picky about my pizza. They do a good job 98% of the time. I've almost never had a pie that wasn't good. Service varies sometimes. While I've never had terrible service, there are some servers there that lack the skill set needed even when not busy. Generally it's ok though. Unless something else astonishing came along this will continue to be my neighborhood pizza joint. As noted earlier their pizza game is pretty strong. Recently my kids were in town visiting me from New York so I took them up to John's Creek to play with their friends who live in that neighborhood. The parents of the children my kids like to play with are my friends also and they live in in apartments near Bassano's Pizzeria. My friend and his wife wanted to go to Bassano's, which has recently and suddenly closed. So we knew we had to find an alternate pizza place for dinner. Friday night rolls around and its dinner time so we decide on Alessio's because we have heard great things. Alessio's feels like a mom and pop restaurant. It is your basic casual pizza shop / family style casual Italian eatery. Alessio's has a few televisions positioned high on the walls in the dining area. The dining area / interior of the place isn't overly large or spacious, but it is certainly cozy and warm feeling. The TV's were showing college basketball conference playoff games. We ordered appetizers for the kids: garlic knots (more like garlic rolls), fried mozzarella sticks with marinara sauce and garlic bread topped with melted mozzarella cheese and served with marinara sauce on the side. I ordered a large cheese pizza (half pepperoni) as the main course. My friends get a pizza with smoked chicken breast cubes, sun-dried tomatoes and artichoke hearts plus a pasta dish for the pre-teen daughter consisting of fettuccine alfredo with diced chicken. The garlic bread and garlic rolls / knots were good; however, they were also pretty darn garlicky. If you don't like a lot of garlic, garlic oil or garlic infused butter, then you better steer clear. We decided that we liked the taste of garlic well after we had finished eating the bread. I personally like the taste of garlic so this was not a problem for me. The pizza was decent if not outright solid; perhaps not outstanding- but definitely quite good. I was surprised at the size of the large pizza (great value). The large pizza contained 8 slices, it may not have been as large as I had expected it to be (based on claims that the pizzas served here are enormous). My friends and I also ordered some beer by the pitcher (Blue Moon). Pitchers here seem to be a much better deal when compared to ordering beer by the pint. One especially bright spot about Alessio's place is the service. Our waiter, a South American fellow, was very attentive, responsive and friendly. Overall, I would venture to say Alessio's is a solid NY style pizza joint / casual Italian restaurant; however, I cannot definitively say it is among the best in that category. My bill for the appetizers and pizza, with tax and tip, came to around $45 and change; a bit steep but then again not outrageous. I can think of a dozen or so other pizza places in the northern suburbs that are just as good, if not better (and maybe cheaper); however, I would also rank Alessio's as worthy of warranting a return visit whenever I find myself in the John's Creek / East Roswell / Southeast Alpharetta / Peachtree Corners area(s). read more

From their fried ravioli and garlic knots, to their salad that comes with every pasta entree, to their pastas, and their pizza - it really is the best food. I was introduced to this little shop by a friend who gave it high marks. I started my visit with the soup of the day which was Clam Chowder; wasn't thrilled with it it was just "meh" nothing out of the ordinary, seriously lacking in the Clams department. I didn't pass too much judgement without trying what I came for, the pizza and I was not disappointed! Had a slice of their Veggie and a slice of Manhattan I think it was (their meat pizza) Loved it, good size slices and generous with the toppings as well but not overpowering. The crust was nice and crispy too. One thing I found strange was broccoli on the veggie pizza but either way it is the best pizza in the area. Tried the Sicilian pizza. It was the median of all averages, as 5-out-of-10 as you can get. Now, when you're talking pizza, average just means a waste of calories. I've been going to this pizza place for many years. Same owners and staff when it was called Alessios. I've never had a bad meal or service here. The food is fresh, the place is clean and is well managed. I usually get the pizza and sometimes some garlic knots or mozz sticks for an appitizer, all are excellent.
