Excellent Mediterranean food!!!! The restaurant was very clean with a modern decor. Our waitress was very friendly, fast, and attentive. The best part was the food. WOW!!!! For an appetizer we ordered the small hummus and baba ganoush w/ extra pita bread. The portion of the smalls were very big. The dips were fresh, creamy, w/ a perfect balancing of flavor. Pita bread tasted freshly baked. We also ordered the falafel platter and lamb gyro. Both were amazing!!! Yum!!!! Went here late after a viewing, with the family and ordered the chicken Taouk platter, an order of dolmades and a black currant iced tea. Everything was delicious!! You can't go wrong with any of it. My in laws had the chicken gyro and lamb gyro and both were pleasantly surprised. This was their first time enjoying Greek food. My sister in law who is vegan really enjoyed their falafels and we all raved about the hummus. The rice was also great. I believe it had a little of cinnamon which was a nice change in flavor. Don't expect super friendly over the top "hello how are you" service, but it was good. We'll definitely add this place to our list of places to enjoy in Las Cruces on our next trip. read more

We're passing thru Las Cruces as we move from VA to CA. Tired and hungry, yelp to the rescue. We're big fans of Mediterranean food and so is our almost 2 year old. So glad we went here for dinner. We ordered the hummus (outstanding), lamb gyro platter and chicken gyro platter. The lamb gyro was some of the best we've had, even the kid couldn't get enough of it. So this place is an a strip mall close to campus, and I walk in not expecting much. Holy Cow was I wrong. Santorini is a great restaurant! The inside is nicely decorated in a sort of minimalist, clean style that I really like. I tried the gyro, which is my standard for good Mediterranean, and it was delicious. The meat was perfect, the veggies were very very fresh, and the tzatziki was thick and refreshing! Usually I bite into a gyro and the tzatziki goes everywhere because it's runny, so I really liked their recipe. I shared a basket of fries with my husband and they were great as well: crispy on the outside, well-seasoned, and hot from the kitchen. I make it a point of eating at Santorini every time I visit Las Cruces. At my last visit, I ordered the Chicken Shawarma with the wonderful garlic cream, and the large portion of hummus. The hummus is exceptional with a creamy consistency. The lamb is also very good...I did miss not being able to order a beer at my last visit. This was our first visit. The menu is a nice mix between Greek and Lebanese foods. We shared the baba ganoush as a starter. The eggplant was light and very tasty with a slight smoky flavor. I had the beef shwarma which was well marinated and yummy, although a bit chewy. My wife had the Lebanese Mashouwi, a generous platter consisting of rice, hummus, a lamb kebab, chicken taouk, and beef kafta. The lamb was beautifully cooked and juicy. The beef was nicely spiced with parsley and cumin. The chicken was grilled and tasted great with the hummus. All in all a nice break from all of the Mexican food here in Las Cruces. The rice is really good even as a Chinese-everyday-rice-eater I can say that! Not a big fan of the lamp Cobob though. It can not compare to XinJiang Yang Rou Chuan if you know what i'm talking about. The $5 Student special sandwiches are great too! also big amount of food! Their dinner special for 2 is $20 for 2 salad or soup (after the half of the soup i was almost full) , 2 pitas, 2 disses of souce, 2 plates of rice, over 1 pound of meat (you can chose 3 kinds of meat from 7? kinds). Not only is this place the best Mediterranean place in the El Paso/Las Cruces area, but it's one of the best restaurants period. I think I've had just about everything on the menu. This a great place for most everyone from meat eaters to vegans. Even my most finicky friend loves the Greek burger. My faves: the lamb gyro: hot, beautifully spiced lamb with creamy fresh tzatziki on warm pita bread. The fresh onions come in a little heavy. I just leave the amount I'd like and take off the rest. The baba ganoush: a plate of fresh baba ganoush with garden fresh tomatoes and cucumbers, beautiful olive oil drizzle with these crazy good, purplish olives in the middle. Comes with a plate of fresh bread (I suggest ordering extra bread and veggies). You take a warm, light, fluffy bread and put a heaping spoonful of baba ganoush and a tomato or cucumber and your head explodes with temperatures, textures, and flavors. The small is a generous portion. My sister and I usually split a small baba ganoush and eat a sandwich each. Last, but not least: the falafel gyro. Same warm fresh pita bread with a layer of homemade hummus, then on top, golden, crunchy falafel, lettuce and this crazy Armenian pickle. You take it and bite it and you get the gorgeous bread, the wonderful texture of the hummus, then the crispy falafel and a bite and acidity of this pickle that brightens the whole mouthful. If I go in too hungry, I have to be careful because I can barely contain myself. I just want to get this sandwich in my face and the conversation at the table stops, I don't hear the chatter at other tables. It's like everything else goes dark and it's just me and the gyro under a spotlight. I come to my senses halfway through the sandwich and my environment starts coming back into focus. My preference is to wash it down with an ice cold, crisp, Diet Pepsi. It's heaven on Earth. read more

The food was brought out with all of the sauces and/or sides that one expects to come with this authentic cuisine. Also, our waitress was very sweet and timely. I would say this place earns a solid 4 stars. Personally, I really enjoyed Santorini. The service was great and timely, and the food I ordered (falafel sandwich) was delicious! My friend's meals on the other hand were not up to par. One of my friends ordered a hummus sandwich and it was purely hummus, way way too much. My other friend's salad was smothered in way too much dressing... It could have just been an off day, but it was disappointing for both of them. We went here for dinner last night and I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food. Located next to a new chinese restaurant- Ho Ho Chinese. (I know- Las Cruces is spot on when it comes to ingenious and witty nomenclature). The menu is fairly extensive with typical Greek fare and great student specials. I had the vegetarian platter which allowed for one to choose three appetizers essentially. I ordered the hummus, baba ghanoush, and grape leaves. Let me say... that egg plant puree was FANTASTIC. I asked for the recipe and was DENIED. It apparently is locked up like a federal pen. Hummus was also excellent. My only gripe about the meal was that they gave me ~5 pita triangles. I know. Two piles of dip and 5 triangles. WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO WITH THAT. Yeah- one star is missing just for that folks. And thats generous of me. I should have docked 2 for that abomination. Anyway, service was good. Server was consistent with filling our water and food was out quickly. Prices were reasonable. My platter was $9. Dinner companion had a pork soulvaki ( I know- who orders pork at a Greek restaurant). Pork was okay. I still stand that their dips are where the money's at. All in all, More Pita Please. read more
