I loved everything about this sushi restaurant! The inside of the restaurant looked really nice and clean, the workers were friendly, the sexy beach roll I got was really good (fresh and well put together), and the service was genuinely FAST. My boyfriend even said his sushi roll was the best he had in a while. Will definitely come back when I'm in the area again to try more rolls :)

Honolulu roll Shrimp Tempura Roll Orange Chicken

I went here because I was really craving sushi and ordered two rolls. the Honolulu Roll and the Shrimp Tempura Roll. The Honolulu Roll tasted a little off, but the Shrimp Tempura Roll tasted just rotten. My boyfriend smelled it as well and immediately agreed that something was definitely wrong. And wasn't even willing to try it because of the smell. Something was definitely off and was not fresh. My boyfriend ordered the orange chicken and enjoyed it. I tried it and personally was not a fan. I also didn't trust the quality of the food anymore. It was really disappointing because I had been looking forward to sushi all week. The one positive was the staff. they were very kind, accommodating, and genuinely tried to make things right, which I appreciated. I just don't feel confident in the freshness or quality of the sushi based on my experience.

This place was the best amazing staff 10/10 Food the theme of the restaurant was nice and I made the WALL OF FAME!!!!!!

Best sushi on the beach. You get what you pay for kind of thing. We love their bar area as it's up close and personal to the sushi chefs. Sanya's sushi menu isn't super diverse but it's perfect. Every roll you get is perfectly done. Fresh. And just the way sushi should be. We love this place as it's away from the hustle and bustle and long lines. Service is great. Restaurant is clean. Ordered the Christmas roll & Sexy Beach.

Been coming here for 3 years and every time I do the food, service, and environment is amazing every time!

I had about 4 servers that served me and they all were professional. The wonton soup was flavored with too much sesame oil. The egg rolls were frozen with and were slightly cold inside. The shrimp tempura roll was tasty. Unfortunately, the wings were not cooked to its entirety.

Any 3 Maki Combo $13.95- Philly Roll, California Roll, Spicy Tuna Roll

We came around 3pm for a late lunch/early dinner and were pleasantly surprised to be able to partake of the lunch specials that would end at 3:30pm. I decided on the daily $5.95 Mango Martini special which was actually a bit more sour than expected, but cocktail-sour-appropriate level. I almost wonder if it was the sweetness of the house salad dressing that then made the cocktail seem a bit more sour than expected. The house salad was included with the lunch 3 Maki Special, which was 6 pieces of Philly, California, and Spicy Tuna rolls for $13.95. The combo hibachi lunch of chicken and steak for $14.50 was a great deal with a naturally sweet and salty teriyaki sauce and plenty of cooked vegetables and fried rice along with a soup or salad. Shrimp tempura appetizer came with 3 shrimp and a set of tempura vegetables- all perfectly crispy and not too oily, with a very light soy vinegar dipping sauce that's much less salty than straight soy. The service was efficient and kind and managed to welcome a walk-in group of 20 people around 4pm with barely a blink of an eye when setting up room for them to all sit together with no advance notice.

I have had a lot of sushi in my day in a number of locations and Sanya may be the best sushi that I have ever had. We got a number of rolls to split, the best of which was the Christmas Roll loaded with a number of different seafood options. The servers were extremely friendly, on top of things, and took care of everything we needed without asking. Sanya definitely is on the pricier side of sushi, however, the flavor and service are well worth the cost.

The atmosphere was nice and relaxing. All the food had a pleasant mix of flavors. The Superstar sushi roll was the highlight, we heard others ordering it as well. The waiter was friendly.

I ordered sushi online at their site and it was very easy use. I was able to pay on the site and I received texts to confirm the order, receipt with estimated time of pickup and when the order was ready. You cannot go into the store to pick up; there is a side window with a plastic bin that the server places your order in. I ordered the Super Star roll, ikura (roe), salmon, and California rolls. I also got a cup of miso soup. Everything was flavorful and the fish fresh. I applaud the restaurant for their creative rolls. The Super Star roll had a nice combination of tempura shrimp and real crab meat. I enjoyed the special sauce on the side with gave it a little kick.. Be sure to take advantage of the Happy Hour specials that start at 2:30pm!

I have Celiac Disease so I called ahead to see if they could accomodate my gluten free diet eithout cross contamination. I was told that there were many things on the menu that can be made gluten free. Even the egg drop soup is gluten free! The servers were a little confused when I arrived but the chef was very clear and said they use separate utensils, cookware and gluten free soy sauce in their dishes. It was good that I arrived after the lunch crowd and before the dinner rush so the staff were better able to handle all of my questions. I could order most anything on the menu and they could make it gluten free. I ordered Chicken & Broccoli which came with Egg Drop Soup. The soup was delicious! So was the entree! I would definitely eat here again.

    Spring Rolls

Was not impressed. Ordered: California roll Chicken Lettuce Wrap Sweet n sour chicken Spring rolls Crab wontons Spring rolls are TINY Chicken Lettuce wraps was a big let down-it's supposed to be mainly chicken but it was barely any chicken in it. Sweet n sour chicken was soggy due to all the pineapple and for it being an entree it was really small portion and I paid extra for the fried rice and didn't get it. Sweet n sour sauce was really watered down looked like sweet n sour but tasted like red water. I've honestly had better quality and value from the frozen food section Chinese than this. If I would have been in the restaurant I would have sent it back and left. But I ordered take out so I got this awesome surprise at the hotel.

We received about a cup of fried cubes of eggplant with some uncooked cashews thrown on top. I think the promised homemade soy was supposed to form the caramel, but it was MIA. We both tried the Sautéed Thai Basil. My dining companion ordered hers with chicken and not spicy. It was a meh for her and thought the chicken was overcooked to the point of being tough and rubbery. I ordered my meal with tofu and spicy. It was good; spicy enough that I sniffled but not so spicy that I teared up. The tofu seemed like it had probably been marinated and had a nice texture. Service was pleasant enough but not especially attentive. The restaurant is located in a strip mall and was attractively decorated. All in all, Single Fin Thai Sushi rates as a low 3-star restaurant, mainly because of the preparation of my tofu. In fairness, the OBX is not a hotbed for Thai or any other Asian food, so I'm grateful that it's an option.

Menu is significantly pared down from previous model. Pricier, but the quality and presentation make it worth it. Half the mahi-mahi fish tacos and my daughter had black bean burger and fries. Both were vastly better than past years. Keggy was our server and I asked if they made shots, she said what were you thinking? I replied we were in Duck so I'd like a Duck fart, she said no, you're in Kitty Hawk, so I ordered the Kitty Hawk Rooster, and she explained to me where the name originated. Friendly staff, personable service. Only complaint, the AC upstairs was blowing right on us, so it was a little chilly. Would recommend to anyone. $60 for appetizer, two handheld meals and one cocktail. Two thumbs up!!!

This was my first time here and will be my last. I arrived at 4:30 today (Thursday). A woman opened…read morethe door and said they were closed for cleaning and they would open at 5. So I waited a half hour for them to open. I asked for a booth where I could have room to work and eat and the hostess walked me over to a 4 top, which would've been perfect. The 2 tops are tiny. She said she would have to ask if could sit there, which was odd because it just opened and not many people were there. She talked to the gentleman at the bar-- who I assume was in charge. Based on the words exchanged, it seemed problematic from his perspective for me to sit there, despite the mostly empty restaurant. Since I'm a lawyer, I work where I dine much of the time and never experienced such a problem trying to get seated. The hostess asked me if upstairs was okay and suggested it would be quieter. Assuming she was taking me to a 4 top upstairs, I went up with her only to find there were a bunch of 2-tops. At that point, it felt as if I was not heard or cared about--as if I were unwelcome--despite being pleasant with the staff from the moment I walked in. So I was about to go back down the stairs and said it's okay I'll just go somewhere else. Then a woman on the staff overheard me and it was suggested I could sit at the bar. I explained that's not a good space because the bar area can become loud. And this is especially so when people become intoxicated. So basically my options were a little two-top or the bar. I ended up leaving. I worked very hard in the restaurant industry before I enlisted in the Coast Guard and eventually became an attorney, which is why I always make it a point to be polite to service staff. And I would've never treated people the way I was treated here. I could understand them not wanting me to take up the space of a 4 top if it were a Friday, a weekend, or later in the day, but this is Thursday right at opening time at 5pm when the restaurant isn't even busy. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant.
