This place was so good we canceled our Sushi reservations and came back for a second night in a row. Fresh food, good portions, and you can customize it 100 different ways. The people behind the windows are super friendly and patient being that almost no one knows what they want in their poke bowl. The options are super healthy, and it's such an improvement over the typical beach junk food. And just to add the place is super clean. They were cooked proteins and because I am leery of uncooked proteins I made that choice. I also tried some new things. Very good bowl. I probably wouldn't get as much sauce next time. We got Pokebox twice when we failed to get through to some of our other takeout spots and are so glad that we did! You get a chipotle style poke bowl and they're simply delicious. The bowls were incredibly fresh and had awesome flavor. We really enjoyed the standard fare (spicy tuna, tuna, and salmon). My husband doesn't eat raw fish much so he got the steak and chicken. There's something for everyone and the customized ingredients really make it your own! It seems they're a relatively new business so I hope they get plenty of support! My order was fresh and tasty! My partner and I enjoyed our meals so much we went two nights in a row! Prices are less than I pay in the DMV area, so $11.95 for a bowl with 2 proteins didn't shock me. My son and I returned from an errand in Virginia Beach right at lunch time and I suggested that we try Poke Box. I know he likes this style of food and since Ms T (who does not) was not with us, it was a perfect time for a light lunch. My box with salmon and spicy tuna on a bed of spring mix was quite enjoyable. I have only eaten poke in Hawaii and then only on one occasion so I don't have much basis for judging but I will certainly go back here. As you would expect, you build your own box from a selection of bases, proteins, toppings, add-on's and sauces. The combinations must be nearly infinite. Everything was very fresh. I knew when I was going into PokeBox that whoever was working there that day was serious about poke - there was a car in the parking lot with POKEBOX on their vanity license plate! Also, the store itself was immaculate, looked pleasant, smelled pleasant, etc. They have really, really good poke bowls here. The ingredients were incredibly fresh and all of the salads/sauces were tasty but not overpowering. One of the bowls that we got had spicy tuna and salmon in it, as well as a bunch of random toppings. The other bowl had spicy tuna and shrimp. We keep talking about how good it is even after we finished both bowl. Portions were also very generous. No real downsides. It is a little pricier then typical fast food, it's probably same/similar to other healthy fast casual options. Their Google pay on their website also didn't work, but it could have been my phone.
