The drafts are nice and cold; the other meads are room temperature and it changes the flavor profiles a bit, not in a bad way! The nectar collector is a must have. The good: the mead. The bad: the service, lack of parking, not dog friendly. I came in for a flight, talked to the owner (?), sat down behind the little bar. He proceeded to take orders from a large group of 7+ people before getting back to me. It took a while. Now, I had to come in alone because they closed their patio early without mentioning it on their website, so my husband had to stay outside with our puppy. The owner (?) then revealed to me that they did not have the town's permission to have a patio in the first place. They also closed their kitchen, but nonetheless did not allow us to take the puppy inside. Basically, this is a very poorly managed operation in the middle of nowhere. A much better choice would be to go to Over the Moon Farmstead. read more

Great little spot in the sleepy town of Center Ossipee. Craft mead, beers on tap and a limited food menu but still a great place to spend the afternoon. Sipping mead and playing games in a warm hygge kind of place with pleasant service - what's not to love? Note if you don't like sweet, stick to the beers. read more

Food and service were both outstanding. The rustic ambiance also embraces the diner like a warm hug. The mead ... OMG good. If you have never tried truly good mead or maybe had mead elsewhere in New England that was probably lousy, try this mead. It is like a fine white wine but in a variety of delightful flavors ... and the barrel-aged varieties are extra special. My favorite was called 'The Trees'; a barrel-aged maple ... OMG good! The carbonated Queen's mead is amazing too; passion fruit and guava flavored. read more

Awesome little spot to check out if you are into the brewery/winery/meadery scene. I've picked up bottles of their Sugar Maple whenever I see it in stores back in MA - but let me tell you, nothing is better then drinking directly at the source! My girlfriend and I got two mead flights, and a the Jalapeño Face Mead-A-Rita, all of which was totally delicious. I'd highly recommend the Honeyberry Mead, Raspberry Jam Sesh Mead, and of course the Jalapeño Face! They have some light lunch options too, we ordered a cheese board, which was a great light snack. read more

Stopped by the Meadery after a full day of hiking! Although there was only one staff member, the service was not lacking!! He helped us decide on 5 mead flights and apps to share. There is indoor and outdoor seating, with games inside-Try Klask if you can!!! The raspberry hibiscus rose and elderberry meads were my favorites. read more

The bar/dinning area is not that big, very rustic and just cozy. Food/Drink. EVERYTHING IS DELICIOUS AND AMAZING! The Meade is very delicious and their tacos complement the Meade fabulously! They have pickled carrots that are addicting! Service. Very hospitable and friendly!!!! Everytime I go I get the tacos, a pickled carrot side and a Meade flight. Then I inquire to try something unique and the staff have always been great at helping me or recommending something to try! Beyond friendly! Cost. Well Meade and places like this can be a bit on the higher side. Here you do not feel like you over paid. Their cost to what you get ratio will leave you having felt you got more then a fair deal possibly even underpaid for the quality and service. So I always tip the bartender/staff a little more. Their hospitality is deserving of it!!!! Honestly, I barely ever give 5 stars, believing in figure skating rules. I kinda do not want to write a review about how fabulous this place is. Leaving this hidden gem for the few who know, but the staff here really are deserving of the praise! After an awful customer service experience with Dive Winnipesaukee in Wolfeboro, the friendly staff at Sap House Meadery helped restore my spirits again! Absolutely loved this place! Would highly recommend. My family was vacationing in North Conway for the weekend. We had stopped at Zebs store browsing around, we stumbled upon Sap House Meadery products. They had the last "one of these days" aged mead in old bourbon barrels and some lady had got her hands on it before us. Thankfully, the store manager informed us they we located 45 mins away. Great little hideaway in Central Ossipee with the most friendly wait staff and very pleasant informative owner. Primarily serve flights of various Meade although you are invited to sample any of their delicious wines. Enjoyed the blueberry so much. Sap house serves very inexpensive soft tacos to pair with the wine. One evening they offered an oyster special on the half shell beautifully presented on a bed of fresh sea weed. The restaurant is small but comfortable. It has become our go-to when friends and family visit. Highly recommend stopping for happy hour, good conversation and most importantly their delicious wines. read more

I am very glad I stopped in on a Saturday for a tasting. The co-owner was behind the counter offering tastings of all meads available for purchase. The meads are on the semi-sweet side and the variety of flavor pairings is incredibly inventive and tasty. We had a great time here on a winter afternoon. We enjoyed the free tasting experience to start. We learned about the ingredients in each and how Mead is made. We then enjoyed the flights of our favorites and also some local draft beers while we played cards that were available at the tables in the tasting room. This is the coolest place in Ossipee, N.H., that I have seen. The tasting was fun and informative. I had a Special cocktail called the Ruby Rick which featured Strawberry Mead, and was so good! I was told that MeadHall in Cambridge, MA bought out their strawberry mead too. The tacos and Ploughman's Lunch Platter hit the spot. Everything tasted fresh and prepared with care. My friends and I were just traveling around rt 16 and we saw on yelp that there was a winery around so we drove and to my surprise it was a meadery and they were closed but the owner invited us in anyway for a tasting ... Long story short we all bought bottles and we all loved the Mead and conversation with the owner ( we all left a little tipsy ) and then come to find out he also owns a brewery not to far away which we then went there and drank a few flights and finished off our buzz and ate great food . so fantastic place and I can't wait to go back when his actual bar is finished . We held a rehearsal dinner at The Sap House. We had a self serve taco bar with all the fixings. They were able to accommodate all the food allergies without excluding menu options. A signature Sap House punch was provided. Tasting other Sap House meads was also an option. Finished the evening with the fun make your own s'mores bar. Drove down from North Conway to visit this place. Their mead is the best I have ever had. It actually taste like honey. They do have some flavored meads and make some cocktails but if you want the original they have it. The food was also wonderful. For a small place we had a great lunch. What every small town winery should aspire to. My husband and I are semi-regulars to Sap House Meadery, and have seen them come a very long way over the years. First of all, the ambience and vibe are great. Nice attention to details in the atmosphere, and they've done a great job incorporating simple, fresh, light fare into the menu. The owners and employees are always informative on where the ingredients come from, and about what mead is as a whole. They try to source locally everything that they can, and have steadily had very interesting and unique "experimental series" selections, some featuring local foraged ingredients. This place is awesome. The two guys working there when we stopped by could not be nicer. The mead is fantastic, the pork tacos and the veggie curry chickpea tacos were made of all fresh ingredients and the mead lemonade on tap is not to be missed. A must-try. We had a tasting of four meads (free) followed by a simple but satisfying lunch of oysters, olives, tacos, and the ploughman's lunch. During lunch we ordered mead cocktails (the No Name is perfect for a hot day) and glasses of some of the experimental meads you can't find in stores. Where else will you find cascara mead, made with the dried fruit of the coffee plant? Remarkably complex and surprising, even having had cascara before - fruity and leathery like pipe tobacco. Having a tasting of four meads we liked followed by trying one we liked even more was just perfect - a great variety of tastes. We bought coconut and spruce meads to take home as well. read more

After a quick climb in the morning, we were looking for something to do in the area and happened upon the Sap House. Inside we found Matt, one of the owners who is from the area. He was enthusiastic and knowledgeable about not only his craft, but the history of the area. We enjoyed all the varieties that they offered and Matt noted that based on the time of year they will use local products to produce meads for the season like blueberry, strawberry, or apple. Prices were between 15 and 20 per bottle. The building next door is currently in renovation and will become a larger tasting room/restaurant with small bites and cheese boards. DO NOT just drive by, you MUST GO IN!! Very small, out of the way, but what a great little place! Everyone is so friendly and informative! The tasting was fun and all of the flavors were delicious, but the sugar maple was my favorite! Their cocktails made with their mead were fun and delicious. We ordered the cheese platter. It came with warm crostini and pickled onions, yum! The pork tacos were also awesome! The bottles of mead range from $15-35 which is worth it! I can't wait to visit again and get a few bottles as Christmas presents. read more
