Absolutely loved the food here. There is also a spacious downstairs with nice art. Service was great until it was time for the check which seems to be common in Georgian restaurants. Georgian salad was fresh and delicious. The khinkali were good but I prefer laliko. The Lobio was absolutely delicious. Would definitely return for this. In the past I didn't like Georgian cornbread but I love the one at saperavi. Great Georgian wines as well. Would recommend this place for sure! read more

Stumbled upon this place and couldn't be happier. I came for an early dinner on a Saturday and so was luckily able to sit at the bar, but given how crowded this place was, I would make a reservation next time to be safe. The service was extremely friendly and our bartender made some great wine recommendations. Unfortunately we weren't able to stay long but would have loved to if we could to try some more of the bartenders' recommendations - especially as there are many unique Georgian wines I haven't seen at most Georgian restaurants around the city. For food we ordered the chicken kebab which was extremely tender with veggies that were grilled enough to give you a char but still maintaining a nice crunch. Theres also a chutney served with it but I thought it tasted just as good without it. We also ordered the adjaruli kachapuri which was exactly as we hoped- cheesy yet creamy and salty without being overbearing. The bread was also really soft but still had a nice crisp to it. The vibe of this place has an atmosphere of being intimate while still having enough room between tables that you can enjoy some space from the group next to you. I will definitely be back here to try more of the menu and wine list. read more

The place had absolutely amazing service. We were greeted to a table immediately upon entrance. We ordered 5 items and honestly, the spinach dumplings with the yoghurt sauce was killer. Something to be remembered and to be ordered if you enjoy vegetarian food! We loved the bread sampler with the three sauces! Most importantly, staff were incredibly educational in regards to their wines and wine list. They offered samples, they offered education, beyond that they allowed us to try things freely. Cute restaurant that's on the smaller side. The Pkhlovana (spinach and cheese khachapuri) was super good! It was like a pizza but with tastier bread. The Beef Khinkali was pretty standard - no complaints. The Eggplant Rolls were mediocre imho as I've had better ones. Not much of a texture and definitely overpriced. The Chakapuli (lamb stew) was pretty disappointing... very watery, and the lamb was rather gamey. read more

Incredibly delicious!! This was my first time trying Georgian food, and it absolutely did not disappoint. There truly is something for everyone here. A great place to try out something new and feel like you traveled to a different country! Our table loved the spicy ribs and the khinkali (soup dumplings). The servers were incredibly friendly and helpful when it came to deciding what to order. Most of the staff and cooks are Georgian, which makes the experience feel genuinely authentic. I was introduced to pkhali (an assortment of vegetable, walnut, and herb spreads) paired with chvishtari (cheesy cornbread), and it was a standout. The menu is also very vegan and vegetarian-friendly, which I appreciated. And the khachapuri... I will be thinking about it for the rest of my life. There is truly nothing better than freshly baked bread filled with melted cheese!! Cocktails were fantastic and boozy. The espresso martini may be the best one I have ever had. I didn't think it could get any better or that I could possibly eat any more BUT when the desert came out, I could not resist. You MUST TRY the honey cake and nepolian cake (if you like almond croissant, you'll LOVE the nepolian). I took it home and had the rest for breakfast the next day. I will definitely be back! I liked this place so much I went twice in one week. Georgian food is the perfect antidote to cold weather...and the food, service and atmosphere at this place makes it a home run for cold winter nights! This place offers the standards you can find at other Georgian restaurants (khinkhali/soup dumplings, kachapuri/cheese boats, assorted spreads) as well as some stews and bread options you won't find...and they're all done so well! And the service is top notch...they'll walk you through the menu and the wine selection to find the perfect selection for your table. I cannot suggest the assorted appetizer board highly enough..the array of spreads are amazing and the cornbread that comes with it is reminiscent of arepas. Craving blintzes? Get them here! There is so much more to Georgian food than khachapuri! Don't worry, you can still get your cheesy, eggy, freshly baked fix here. But you don't want to miss out on the other delicious breads, the soup dumplings you eat like artichoke hearts, the decadent eggplant salad, the crispy-skinned chicken in walnut sauce, and so much more. I ate here recently and I was disappointed. I love borscht but their borscht was very mediocre. It tasted more like a vegetable soup than real borscht. I ordered a kind of bean puff pastry as my main course. I was delivered the wrong entree. It took about twenty five minutes to receive the correct entree. OK, mistakes happen but I didn't receive any apology for the mix up and wait. Furthermore, when the correct entree finally arrived it was dry and boring. My wife ordered a grilled salmon skewer. The salmon was not fresh and it did not appear to be skewered but rather baked instead. It did not have that grilled flavor we were anticipating and it did not have much flavor at all. On top of this we were seated in the lower level. The heat was off and it was very cold. Then they put the heat on. Our table was directly below the heating unit close to the ceiling. It suddenly became very uncomfortably hot. Saperavi was very crowded so maybe there's something I'm missing about the place. However, I'm in no rush to return. read more

We had dinner last night, which was our second dining experience and it was just as delicious as our first visit! Each and every person is lovely and patient explaining dishes and wine choices. Our first visit we tried the Georgian salad with walnuts, which was delicious. The Khabizgina was a dish we ordered both visits, so perfect for a cold winter evening. This is a terrific place on the UWS. It's the third of their locations in the city. I ate here with my mother, my mother-in-law, and our kids on Christmas Eve, and everything was terrific. I got a bean stew, my daughter got a grilled pork kebab, and my mom got a terrific lamb stew. Everything was great, and the service is terrific - - they are passionate about Georgian cuisine and happy to talk you through any questions you have. read more
