This place was really good and had a large selection of veggie options! We ordered tempura vegetables as an appetizer, they were pretty good but the sweet potatoes were just a touch on the raw side. The rest were cooked to perfection! We tried a lot of the veg roles and they were pretty good but the two that were pretty seemed pretty similar. As far as sushi goes it g came out quick and they have a bar where you can watch the sushi being made. The service was great, cups were kept full and the servers were very kind! Our first time at Sapporo and we loved it! Located in the Giant Eagle strip mall off of State & Maxtown next to Game Stop & Classic Pizza. It's a nice, casual atmosphere and service was good. I ordered a small hot sake ($5.85) which was very good and more than enough. My husband and I ordered a Sapporo Roll ($15.95), Smoky Mountain Roll ($14.95), and Karma Roll ($7.95) to share. This was a great plan B after the restaurant we intended to eat at was closed unexpectedly on a Saturday night. It does not look too inviting from the outside and interior is simple, but the sushi really delivered. Presentation and flavors were outstanding. The Thai food was not as successful. I ordered Massaman curry with tofu, and received a dish filed with carrots and onions...and a few pieces of tofu. Best sushi place in the Columbus suburbs. We have been enjoying Sapporo for years and years and they never disappoint. After likely hundreds of takeout orders, they have never messed up an order and the food has always been incredible. We love the New Sapporo roll, the spicy tuna roll, and the yellowtail scallion roll - but you can't go wrong with anything. They also have great miso soup, ginger salad, pad thai, and crab rangoons. We feel so lucky so have this spot so close-by. A tip for takeout - they get super busy with orders especially on weekend evenings. There is so much variety when it comes to picking out a roll here! The birdie roll and the putter roll were my favorite of all 5 I tried but they were all delicious! The food and ambiance is great. The sushi is delicious and is well presented. The service can be a bit more friendly.

Been eating here with family for a long time. The sushi is always good and wait staff tries to keep up with traffic but you may have to flag them down occasionally for refills on beverages. We ate a boatload of sushi, had an appetizer, and a coke of drinks for a reasonable price. It is friendly and clean. We sat st the bar and got to watch some of the Saturday sports goings on. I have always loved Sapporo, all the way back to when it was Sapporo Wind. I am half-Japanese and was raised eating Japanese food - some authentic and some Americanized. Recently, my cousin from Japan visited Ohio for the first time and was excited to try what he called "American Sushi." He had already been to California and New York and experienced this "American Sushi," so he explained to us how it differed from Japanese sushi. Issei was convinced that there was NO way Columbus, Ohio would have a "real" Japanese restaurant. He was in total shock when the sushi and sashimi arrived at our table. His shock intensified with every bite he took. He said it was as good, even better, than much of the sushi and sashimi he's had in Japan. I love Sapporo not only for its tasty, fresh dishes, but also for its quiet ambiance and excellent, friendly service. Horo-san and his wife, Karen, are both Japanese. Many Japanese restaurants in Columbus are actually run by Koreans. While these restaurants still provide a tasty meal and I'm a big fan of many of them, Sapporo is the real deal. read more

I came here with my aunt and uncle before they head back home. They told me this was their favorite restaurant so that's why we came here for dinner. Staff here is understaffed and food came out very late and the children were almost served last which is embarrassing for a restaurant to serve kids last. Even the parents could not stand that. My husband just ordered a simple sushi roll and it took them longer to get that out than my meal alone. I didn't finish my meal because recently I got sick on my honeymoon from drinking unpurified water so I've been careful with food as well. I can handle eating sushi but my sashimi salad was a bit much and I couldn't digest that much raw fish. I wish I hadn't eaten off everyone plates because I don't usually do this unless my food was really that bad where it did not satisfy me. I was literally helping my nephew finish his eel because I was that hungry from not liking my dish. The waitress also messed up my uncles order and he didn't get his meal until everyone was done eating and we all felt bad for him since he doesn't eat meat.
