For our last day in Key West, we needed a diner with indoor seating! We may have picked SaraBeth's for the seating but left with full bellies of amazing food and happy hearts! First, the diner itself is light, intimate, and pretty. Plenty of seating for larger parties inside, and then there's more seating outside. We were greeted and seated in no time for an 8:30 breakfast. The crowd started to pick up shortly afterwards, but it still didn't get too packed. Our server, Tom(?), was phenomenal! He as happy, attentive, and knew his stuff! The other staff folks kept our coffees & waters full without asking, and they also know a thing or two about taking pics. While the menu looked great by itself, we all decided on getting the specials for this morning. 5 variations of the Shrimp & Grits with avocado, andouille sausage, and egg, and then one person got the lobster omelet with multigrain toast. Oh! And Tom sensed some hesitation on wanting something sweet as well, he offered a small portion of anything in the menu! What?! We visit Sarabeth's anytime we're in Key West. The service, vibes, and mimosas are always amazing. My husband had the surf and turf benedict was phenomenal. I was in the mood for something sweeter, so opted for the cinnamon pecan french toast with berries. It did not disappoint! This time around, we were lucky enough to get a table right away, but it's not rare to have to a while to get seated. Sarabeth's is definitely worth it though! read more

Every time I travel to Key West, I wonder which restaurants have survived and which have failed. After all, so much changes across thirty years. Happily Sarabeth's is still going strong. It's a small spot but that doesn't stop a big line of diners from forming; interested in the personable servers and the great food. The two of us decided to hit SB early, before the crowds. We were very happy we did so. We were seated immediately and our server had time to review every special option on the menu, question the sanity of Ohio State fans and drop by over and again for very engaging small talk. After his thorough and entertaining review of the morning options, my spouse ordered an "apple fritter"... basically spiced apple cider with sparkling wine and the lobster eggs benedict. I was the complicated one. I ordered the omelet special without the egg. Our server didn't blink. He added sliced avocado, their fabulous multi-grain toast (and this bread may be the best ever) and recommended a side of a sauce that was being served with another special. The special creation was beautifully presented and the sauce was to-die-for. My spouse proceeded to consume two more "Apple Fritters" (and would go on to make them at home) while I nursed a very good large cup of coffee. We were so pleased with our meal, one of the few we truly enjoyed during our Key West trip, that we returned to SB on our final day with four friends in tow. This time I happily consumed the lemon ricotta pancakes... so good I took the last one home with me... while the rest of the pack tried the surf and turf benedict (every bite eaten), the shrimp-n-grits (happiness on a plate) and a boring scrambled eggs with toast basic breakfast no one paid attention to but was described as delicious. The mimosa specials were consumed by some as well as Apple Fritters and I went with a boring but excellent Bloody Mary. The prices are a little high but then again, you are in Key West and it seems like all the prices are a little high. My recommendation: get a drink special and order what you really want regardless of the potential calorie-carb-fat gram count. You will be happy. read more

I never want to forget the meal I had here because it was that great. Its probably one of the best meals I have had in a long time. We got here with ok expectations for breakfast. Found this on yelp of course. They sat us down pretty quickly and this young waitress (which I unfortunately forgot her name) took our order quick. She went over the specials of the day and I HAD TO HAVE THEM ALL lol. So of course we did. I had the shrimp and grits, my husband had the lobster benedict, and my kids split the pancake/sweet platter that they had which included bread pudding. The shrimp and grits were the best I have ever had. My kids wanted to eat it and they don't normally love seafood. My husbands dish was spectacular. Honestly this restaurant is absolutely 5 stars. It was pricey but worth every single penny. The service was spectacular. I got coffee and a watermelon mimosa... like I said best dishes I have ever had. Had valentine day dinner that used a special dinner menu. The restaurant is noted for breakfast. We ate outside which is very nice. Restaurant is a couple streets off of Duval and is in a quiet area. I had the short ribs that were okay but very difficult to eat off the bone. Flavor was good but a lot of gristle. My wife had the shrimp curry and rice dish which was excellent. My husband, I stopped here on Super Bowl Sunday morning for breakfast. The waiter greeted us and quickly went through a few specials they were offering., since it was so busy I decided to go with one of the specials that had eggs Benedict bacon, a scattering of crab meat, avocado with the traditional hollandaise sauce &! We were just walking and stumbled upon this place for breakfast and I'm sooooo happy we did! First off, customer service was the best I've seen on the island so far! They work as a team and are very attentive to their tables. Both inside and outside seating. No reservations. Secondly, the food choices were SO GOOD! You are truly paying for the portion size you get and the flavor and quality of food! It's a smaller place so it doesn't seat many but we came at a great time! The worst service I have ever received in a restaurant. 50 year old balding host continuously made snarky, rude remarks to my friends and I (who are all young girls, making us feel extremely intimidated and threatened). Skipped us in line to be seated. As we walked away from the restaurant, he continually yelled at us down the street, causing an absolute scene and disrupting other customers (as we said nothing). Stopped in on a Thursday morning and did not wait - place is very cute in the inside with a nautical theme. Ordered a couple of the seasonal mimosas the grinch and apple crisp, although they had a couple others that also sounded tasty) and they were cute and delicious, not to mention pretty large - I'm used to teeny mimosas in Chicago and these were at least twice the size if not more. Fat and fluffy French toast with a side of bacon for husband which he loved and the key lime French toast which I loved. Upcharge of a couple dollars if you want real maple syrup, although I certainly didn't need it with my key lime French toast but my husband appreciated it for his fat and fluffy French toast. Bacon was nice and crispy with a generous portion. Service was very nice and efficient, a team model where all participate - we had two very nice servers and were well taken care of. I hit Sarabeth's Key West at the wrong time, being during the Corvid-19 pandemic. They were no longer serving lunch or dinner, breakfast only. So, though they have a really great menu and are well known for their unique and delicious offering, it didn't do me much good being limited to breakfast. But I did have a shrimp and bacon omelet which was really very good with its enhancements of herbs and smoked cheese. I really look forward to returning if and when we ever get out of the pandemic thing. read more

The service was very good as servers were knowledgeable about specials and food did not take long to get to our table. I was however disappointed in a few things that I think are worth mentioning. We asked for water (we did not order coffee or any other beverage). We were asked, 'tap? Or bottled?' I asked if the tap was filtered and she said no, so I said 'bottle'. The waiter did go over the specials and my spouse ordered one of those. We were quite surprised when we rec'd our check of 65.00! The 'special' was 30.00 and the water was 7.00 each. I feel the server should have warned us of the prices of the special and the water because who would have thought it would be that high compared to their menu prices. I feel that was done intentionally to enhance the bill. The food was good, the service was good, but I don't like surprises like that, and wont be going back to this place. read more

Wow what an experience. Did Sunday brunch with wife and another couple. Stag. Was super engaging from the start. They has the menu down pat including the specials and all the cocktails. Brad was our server and other than his questionable choice in college football teams he was amazing. Best Server hands down in over 20 years. Chef was on point. Blue crab packed shrimp and grits with smoky andouille sausage. Grits done to perfection with 3 different cheeses amd topped with a perfectly poached egg. Phenomenal. Girls had Xmas themed caramel apple mimos and a grinch mimosas. Beers ice cold. Server even dropped some Ohio state and "Ichigan" colored ones as well. Best breakfast ever. Ask for Brad! I wanted to love this place but unfortunately our experience was less than stellar. We waited for 10 minutes outside before a host (who was actually a waitress) took our names and told us it would be 20 minutes for a table. You could tell they were understaffed as there was a bunch of tables open. The staff was really nice and definitely hustling. We got a seat inside and our waiter was super fast. We ordered the bloody mary & watermelon mimosa. The bloody was good but the mimosa tasted like it was made with super cheap champagne (or it was bad). We ordered quickly off their "special" menu and our food came soon after. The bacon was delicious (both regular and special thick cut which was a bit spicy). We LOVED the almond banana french toast. Flavor was out of this world. However, my surf and turf breakfast was borderline disgusting. The lobster was chewy and soggy. The steak which was supposed to be filet was so chewy it was not edible. They came to take our meal and didn't even ask how we liked it (which clearly we didn't since almost the entire plate was still full of food). I felt sick for the rest of the day. Well over $100 for breakfast, I would expect way better quality. I would come back for a different breakfast but definitely stay away from the steak and lobster eggs benedict! read more
