We love this place! Quaint restaurant that was previously a saloon back in the day complete with a B&B upstairs that was formerly a brothel (The Shady Lady). Phenomenal food. Really quick, friendly service. Was just passing through on the way through the area and found their spot on Yelp. Picked up a Brisket sandwich and some soup. Both were great. Way above average. Everything tastes made from scratch, nice clever twists on traditional American food. Like Jalapeño cornbread I the soup. Simple idea but excellent. Do yourself a favor, if you're like me and just passing through the area, take a quick two minutes of the highway, skip the fast food and support a really solid local business in a cute little old town square, with food that definitely backs up their good Yelp! reviews. We went to Sarah's for lunch on our way to Winstar and were pleasantly delighted. The menu items are tasty, fresh, and a great value. We tried both the reuben sandwich and the cheeseburger. Both were amazing and we would return here again next time we are in the area. read more

What a great find! I had the Hog, and it was amazing! As was my husband's brisket and the salmon and chicken fried steak our other dinner partners had. We sat by the pie case, so - of course - tried out the deserts. They did not disappoint. The fresh rolls were perfect, too. This is a cute cafe on the Gainesville square. We both had the Monster Quesadillas, and they were good. My husbands tea was sour but they promptly exchanged it for the peach flavored tea, which he said was very good. This is one of the few decent restaurants in our area. This is an excellent place for a unique lunch. Great location with easy access to I-35, Sarah's hit the spot. I had the trio plate with tomato bisque soup, salad, and a chicken salad that was to die for. I especially loved the lemon poppy seed strips used for that added sweetness and texture to the meal. The peach iced tea was a refreshing treat. But the desserts! All homemade and big enough to share, you have to try at least one. Best special occasion restaurant in town, they change their menu seasonally and have separate lunch and dinner menus. The salmon for dinner and Sarah's salad for lunch are a couple of my favorites. What a cute place! Stopped at Sarahs for dinner on the way to Winstar Casino. Love the historic building and the variety of antique tables and chairs. The bar was a pleasant surprise too. The menu is more upscale than we were expecting though still included chicken fried steak, which my husband could not pass up. Very tender and great crust. His only complaint was side of green beans were not hot. I had brisket that had an ok bbq sauce...wish the sauce were more unique. I would not order again. Other options that other diners had such as Prime rib looked like a better choice. We did not try the deserts in the case but they looked good. Stopped here on the way to Oklahoma. Tired of fast food we decided to go sit-down restaurant. Sarah's was a great choice! Pros: atmosphere was very relaxing, friendly and attentive staff, great food, clean. The wedge salad was tasty with plenty of blue cheese. The beef filet was the best thing we ordered. Covered in a red wine and mushroom reduction sauce the beef was amazing. The entrees were served with green beans with almonds (yum!) and mashed potatoes that were rich and fluffy all at the same time. Rolls were served right as we sat down to hold off the hunger so we could make a proper menu decision. The brand of hot tea they have is fabulous as well if you need a little warm up. Cons: the chicken fried steak was good but not the best I've ever had. The prices were a little high but that's what is expected when you disembark from the fast food train. Not complaining, just stating. If you too are tired of the same old, same old, this is your place. We would definitely go back. Even thinking we would drive from Fort Worth just to eat at such a lovely spot. read more

We stopped at Sarah's on the way to St. Jo on Saturday. We were immediately drawn to the historic building & decor. The wait staff was friendly, letting us choose where we wanted to sit. As busy as they were, they were patient, answering every question thoughtfully. The food came quickly, & wow...all I can say is that this will be my meal stop as I travel for business in the future.
