We stopped by for an early dinner (or late lunch) on a rainy day - and found this place to be perfect. We were seated in the enclosed porch overlooking the river and further green hills, typical VT amazing view. We had an Eggplant Parm. and a salmon pasta dish, both were very tasty and large portions. Our server Andrew was very nice and efficient. It was a real pleasure to be served by him! Overall, we had a very tasty and pleasant experience, eating at Sarducci's. Sarduccis is our favorite restaurant in Montpelier because of the typical excellent food, service and ambiance. Our party of six had amazing tasting appetizers and meals last night. Our waitress, however, was having an off night and lacked a friendly or welcoming table side manner. She did not engage with our attempts at pulling a smile out of her, so much so that we were tempted to not leave a tip. We did give her the benefit of the doubt in the end but will ask for alternate seating if she is assigned as our waitress again. read more

Came in for Father's Day for a nice dinner. We expected it'd be busy, so we'd made a reservation and were pleasantly surprised that they were able to seat us immediately upon arrival at our reservation time. We started with fried calamari and drinks. I had a Prosecco-Aperol Sprizter that was quite good. The calamari was very fresh and tender. I ordered a glass of the house Chianti for dinner, but in tasting my s.o.'s house Merlot, I wish I'd ordered that instead. I normally dislike Merlot, but it was very smooth and velvety. For dinner, we both ordered the Vitello ala parmigiana-Veal Parmigiana. It was a generous plate of veal plus penne pasta and loaded with delicious mozzarella cheese. The server asked us who needed grated cheese or pepper, which made the dish extra delicious. The other couple dining with us got the Veal Piccata and the Chicken Marsala and raved about their dishes, too. Service was excellent. The view of the Winooski River is spectacular. Yuck. If I could give zero stars I would. Passing through and stopped for lunch. Ordered the chicken parmesan. Traditional Italian fare. I was so shocked when I was served two small chicken breasts seasoned with salt and pepper over lukewarm penne with a tablespoon of marinara and cheese stuck to the plate. Obviously microwaved. THIS is the best they have?? Where's the seasoning? Traditional breading? Bold marinara? What a joke. And the entree was 21.00. I could get this better at Burger King. Slow and overpriced. The Caprese salad had 3 thin tomato slices and 3 mozzarella slices. I added grilled shrimp and got 5 small shrimp. For $18.75. While I waited for the salad, the server came by and said it would be "a couple of minutes, they were cooking the shrimp." Several minutes later the salad arrived.... The shrimp , while they had been grilled, were cool. Then, after the meal, I sat in front of an empty coffee cup for 14 minutes waiting for the check. Went there for dinner and everyone one was very happy with what they ordered. Four people, four different entrees and all were delicious. Service was excellent and the menu has a great variety. Prices were all what I would consider moderate. I saw some reviews that were a bit critical; I would say that either they had an unfortunate experience or were being a bit fussy. I was going to give them five stars, but unfortunately they don't have a changing station in the bathroom and my daughter was forced to change our grandson on the bathroom floor. Highly recommend. One of the few places with parking and sit-down service during lunch in Montpelier. I like to sit at the bar because you get a view of the people making pizza. My favorite starter is the antipasto with prosciutto and my favorite meal is is the alfredo del mare. read more

We are not from the area and stumbled across this restaurant. We were grateful to get a table without reservations. From the moment we walked in the door, we had a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Our waiter, Warren C., could not have been more professional, attentive, and helpful. We discussed wine, and made a wonderful recommendation. We discussed food and loved our order of the lobster ravioli and a gluten-free pizza. Being one of the few restaurants open, the place became packed. Warren continue to be attentive to us and brought me my second glass of wine while I was still eating my entrée, as I had requested. Never did I feel rushed, or as if I was imposing, a feeling, I've had often in restaurants when they've been busy. The staff was hustling to make everything work. The poor pizza guy was on high gear and definitely on his game. Kudos to the management and the staff for handling a large crowd post-flood with such expertise. Highly recommend Sarduccis! We are there twice within three days of being within the area because it was so good! Second day there we ordered the chicken Marsala and that was the best chicken Marsala I have ever had! One thing to note is that the lunch menu offers different options than the dinner so if you come back for a second time you may have different offerings! Delicious! This restaurant was very busy on a Saturday at 7 but we were seated fairly quickly. Waitress Caroline was friendly and efficient. Fried Calamari had too much breading, mussels were delicious, bolognese was over cooked and had chunks of meat in it but still tasty, chicken entreee was tiny, drinks were ok but pricy. Worst thing about the dinner is that they charge for bread. $4 to be exact. What self respecting Italian joint charges for bread? As an Italian American I was offended. The first time I went to sarduccis was great, it was for my sisters birthday. I most recently went with my family to get to know my brothers girlfriend, it was very nice there, and the food was great. My brothers girlfriend is vegan and she was very happy that there were vegan options, me and my sister are both picky but we also were pleased with the food. The decor was nice, and every time I go we get our food pretty quick, the staff is welcoming and nice, I hope to go again soon. read more

Go to the Olive Garden you'll get the same meals but cheaper. These folks are obviously trying to cut cost and think no one will notice. But it's obvious. This place was extremely close to our hotel so we decided to give it a shot! We came on a Friday night and it was around a 30 minute wait. The food was delicious and worth the wait! We got the shrimp and bruschetta with mozzarella on it for appetizers. The shrimp was just okay, I think the cocktail sauce wasn't as great. But the bruschetta was delicious! I ordered the steak and my boyfriend got the fettuccini Alfredo del mare. They were delicious! The pasta sauce was extremely tasty and the sauce for the steak was amazing. I did asked for it to be cooked medium and it seemed to be a little more rare than I would have liked. However, besides that it was all great. The salad that came with my steak didn't do anything for me so I was okay with not eating it. You do have to order the bread and garlic oil, but it's well worth the nominal cost. Desserts were also very good. Overall atmosphere is amazing! Very cute italian spot and we were able to get a seat outside by the water! The servers were very kind and receptive. Food took around 45 minutes which feels a bit long considering we were a party of 2 but it was good enough to excuse the wait. Ordered the brick oven pizza with fresh garlic, basil, tomatoes etc. when it arrived I saw how flat and unscorched it was. It looked amazing. I devoured the whole thing. It was so good. What a great busy place! When I arrived here on a Saturday just around 6:00pm I ask to be seated at the bar. The restaurant seemed content my occupied but then Bam! Lines out the door and people waiting? I was impressed. There was such a good vibe and the Bartender did a great job staying on top of things despite the volume of people's order. I was well impressed and certainly enjoyed my pizza. The balsamic reduction is quite sticky so do prepare to get your hands dirty. Have been coming to VT for years but never ate here. The place was packed with no social distancing indoors. Surprising for VT as everyone outside unnecessarily wearing masks, but inside packed in. Had 6:45pm resie. Newbie checking me in said 30 min wait and I said no aa I have a reservation. The next person handled it better. After 20 min wait, got a tiny table that was one foot away from a table of 6 men. Couldn't hear myself think so hubby changed seats with me. He had Cod-'very good'. I had chicken marsala which was tasty. Salad was just a bowl of lettuce with 2 tiny tomatoes. Need to up their salad game- add carrot and cucumber. Dessert was chocolate cake- I will rate a 3 out of 5. Will try it again and try pasta. Hopefully at a less crowded time since we still have Covid. read more
