Staying at the Wilderness or Glacier Canyon Lodge? They'll tell you to get Sarento's. We bit - they're close and we wanted food fast. Reviews looked good, so why not? Perhaps our expectations were too high. Things started off great. Our pizzas (the "waterpark special" of 2 pizzas, breadsticks and a 2-liter) arrived well before the 30-40 minutes we were told. Great - during spring break, that's nearly a miracle! The pizza looked fine, but I was underwhelmed. The italian sausage had some heat to it, which isn't my preference. Nothing really stood out - the cheese was okay, the sauce was okay. It was all just... okay. I hate to give 2 stars, but as Yelp defines it, "Meh. I've experienced better." I waited to review them until I after I had the pizza cold. Sometimes a pizza can redeem itself. Nah. Just... well, "okay". For spring break... for a family vacation... and for the money, I want something memorable. I suspect their dine-in cuisine is much better. I won't tell you to not come here, but I won't tell you to get their pizza delivered to your waterpark condo/hotel. read more

Saturday dinner, a lot of people but because there's only me and my mom, we got seated right away. We really love the specials that night, cannelloni and the blackened salmon. Food is always delicious especially the breadsticks with olive oil! The service is slow on the weekends because of being so packed so the waitress's have lots of tables but that's fine so you can enjoy your company. WOW. that is one of the only things i can even say after dining here. first, we arrived at about 8:00 pm on a Thursday and there were four hostesses working. they waited probably a minute to greet us then took awhile to find us a table even though it was extremely empty. then we had to wait for awhile for our server to even come over. by then we were ready to order drinks and food. we ordered cheese ravioli, mushroom ravioli, chicken fettuccine with soup, a side of fettuccine. we also made it clear we wanted bread right away. then we forgot we ordered a Caesar so we ordered that too. the caesar and soup came early but 1 of the 4 of us just wanted bread. we politely asked about the bread and they were like oh yea it's coming. soon after, my sister opened up her cutlery and discovered her fork was covered in red sauce?!?! YUCK. me and my sister went back out to the car to grab our own plastic silverware since we were disgusted. then asked about the bread AGAIN 10 minutes later and he said he would go remind them. the food came a little while later and we asked for our bread AGAIN. it was a different server and he said yes but it still never came. by this point, you can imagine how mad i was. finally, the server came to ask how it's going and this was the 6TH time we asked about our bread, he said the oven was turned off and he would go make it?!?!!!?! well that woulda been nice to know. the food was pretty good and the server was nice and apologized but there's not a chance in the world we'd come back. there was probably only 3 servers and they were all running around like crazy. maybe they should hire more servers instead of 4 hostesses standing there doing nothing. if you are wanting sarentos, i'd recommend take out. i attached images of the fork and cheese ravioli read more

Wow, the quality of this place has really gone down over the years. There were 10 of us for dinner and everyone ordered something different. The problem... Except for the protein and pasta shape - EVERYTHING TASTED THE SAME! Same sauce. Same but that doesn't mean good. The built in business from the waterpark/hotel has really made for a lazy business that clearly doesn't care. :( Bummer. read more

The shrimp and scallops someone else ordered was small lacked seafood and overpriced-almost 30$. The scallops were not jumbo as their menu says. It's a real nice ambience. Oh, I had such high hopes for this restaurant based on the extensive online menu and exterior of the building when driving by. Our server, Jennifer, changed hands halfway through with no explanation, bread was tasteless, salad and fettucine was a ridiculously small sized portion, and don't bother with the desserts. We honestly thought the creme brulee was a can of wet cat food. It was disgusting so we sent it back after one bite (was still charged for it). Tiramisu was not available, so we tried the lemon cheesecake which was still frozen when it arrived at the table. Atmosphere was nice, and the bar has very comfortable chairs and it can accomodate many people. That's about all it had going for it. read more

We come to the Dells once a year. Instead of staying at our hotel we decided to try something local. The pizza here is top notch. It's so tasty and the complimentary bread basket is good as well. We picked this restaurant ironically because reviewers criticized the fact that several people were unmasked. (We have never bought into the COVID maskerade.) That said, we were so pleased with our choice of restaurants. First, the ambiance is very romantic. My husband is an Italian from NJ, and he said it was the best Italian food he has had in decades. He loved his eggplant Parmesan and reported the red sauce is thick and rich. The portion sizes are filling. Nice decor. You get the sense that it is more on the upscale side than other restaurants in the Dells. Ultra fast service. No joke. You get three servers per table. I didn't understand why but it worked for me. We ordered two salads. Caprese salad (pretty good and on point) and the Salerno salad (dry as all heck). Pizza was probably one of the best I've had in a long time. It tastes like it was baked in a brick oven. My kids loved it. We had tiramisu for dessert. I'd skip it if I were you. Quaint atmosphere. Had salmon special and grilled calamari special- salmon was cooked well, asparagus were delicious but rosemary risotto was very bland. Husband had chicken Marsala which was good but just average. House salad was typical. Sarento salad was good but doused in salad dressing. Service was ok as well. The food was good. The 2 star review is because I specifically told the waiter I was ordering so I could fit in dessert. Meaning I had soup and an appetizer. We arrived at 6pm and proceeded to have a good meal. When it came time for dessert the first dessert I ordered (hazelnut mouse torte) was out. So then he offered the tiramisu, stating that they had this. After 10 more minutes he came out and told me they are out of that too. This is disappointing on many levels. The server should be aware of what isn't available and a few, really 1 hour into dinner service when we were seated to be out of 2 desserts is unusual. read more

I'm not sure why this spot has mediocre reviews. I was very hesitant to try, but walked away super impressed. The patio dining was great and the food was really tasty. I could see some people being harsh due to the prices, but it really was good portions for fresh tasty food. The server was working her tail off and the tables were nice and spread out. Some of the highlights was the stuffed shrimp appetizer and seafood fettuccine. The kids menu was also great for both of our little guys. It was for sure their favorite meal of our trip and like I said I came in with low expectations, but came away very impressed. I'd love to come back post covid and try the inside. read more

But the biggest complaint I have is this: We arrived shortly after 4:00 and asked to be seated outside. We were told that they don't open the patio until around 7:00. What?!? We all unanimously agreed that nobody would order the Philly Cheese Steak pizza again. Weird tasting pizza. It almost tasted like the sauce was A1 sauce slathered all over. Not a good time. Came in for Mother's Day dinner. We had a table of 6 and the service was quick and professional. The host and hostess's all were dressed very nice with ties. There was a man singing in the bar and was entertaining many guests. Out food came out fast and delicious. We have eaten here a number of times and always been happy with the service and food. We called in about 5pm on a Friday to see if they could get two groups seated separately with a party of 18 and party of 15! They said YES and when we arrived our accommodations were ready and the service was fantastic! The server was accurate with all of the separate orders we had as well and made it so easy! The food and drinks were amazing!! All of us were so happy we got into such a nice restaurant with good food at the last minute for such a big group and then on top of it to have attentive staff! We had dinner here last night. I read the reviews posted and was concerned about the sauce being too spicy . I asked for a sample before I ordered my meal. I actually thought the sauce had a great taste and being Italian I am very particular about sauces. I ordered Penne Italiano. I loved the sausage in the dish. Larry had spaghetti with meatballs. We ordered the tiramisu for dessert. The presentation of the food was outstanding and the food more than satisfied my picking taste buds. The staff was very attentive and as an extra bonus there was live music by a dual that made our evening perfect. Larry said that even his drink was perfect. One reviewer said it was pricey but for our meal of bread sticks, salad, entree, dessert and drinks for two it was $56.00. So if you are in the Dells and want a fantastic dinner experience I highly recommend this restaurant. read more

Giving it one star would be giving it justice. I was staying at the Wilderness, and this was one of their on grounds restaurants. We were given a book of coupons when we arrived to hotel, and I hadn't used any yet. I wanted to take kids out, and realized it was a shuttle ride. Got there which was a wait due to being short shuttle drivers. Gave them my coupon for 2 dollars off kids meals and they wouldn't honor them. They said it was for delivery only. But the coupon only said delivery on other coupons for water park pizza. The manager said he's right. He's been there 10 years. I said I was going to go and he was happy to have us leave. Bad bad service. When I got back to wilderness and paid tip to shuttle there and back I let them know about my experience. They agreed it said nothing about kids meal coupon needing to be delivery only. I have only given one other bad review in my life, but this guy really upset me. I worked food service and bartending a lot in my early 20's and would have never treated customers that way. read more
