Chicken Teriyaki with White rice and veggies
    Cheok Meng L.

My favorite chicken terryaki place. Sometimes it's a bit more burnt than others but to this day, it tastes like home. Service is rough but quick. They don't want to speak with you any longer than they need to. There's usually a brief line but you get your order pretty quickly. They've been here for as long as I know and this spot will always have a place in my heart. Chicken Terryaki: The chicken is cooked well, usually not dried out or burnt. Think they could use just a tad bit more sauce but it's still seasoned well. The veggies are just heated up and don't taste like much. The rice is made in bulk so it could be a bit fluffier but not too dry. Ambience: Since it's in the food court of a mall, it tends to get pretty packed and loud. Tables can be a bit dirty if no one's gotten to cleaning it yet.

The quality of the food is not the same as the 90s. The chicken is dry, hard to chew, and sometimes burnt. Good food container though. I'll be keeping that and adding it to my collection.

the line moves super quick. you can also order off the app if you don't wanna wait. you can come here to satisfy your teriyaki craving! the food tastes pretty ok and it's inside the queens mall food court. definitely chaotic if you come in the weekends!

Sarku Japan has been around for many moons cooking and serving delicious chicken teriyaki for over 31 years. Their mission was to whip up delicious meals in a few minutes which allowed patrons to order, eat, be merry, and return back to work from the lunch break in a timely manner. When the founders opened up the first Sarku Japan they wanted to make sure all meals were cooked to order. Surprisingly there's no MSG which allows the flavors to really come through on your taste buds. There are over 250 Sarku Japan restaurants in over 34 states, Puerto Rico and South America. They are the largest and most successful Japanese Quick Service Restaurant in America. My favorite thing to order is the chicken teriyaki, double meat, no veggie, with either white rice or fried rice. I always ask for extra teriyaki sauce. I add duck sauce and Sriracha right over the top.

Chicken Bento box. It's okay, not really worth the $8.69

An honest review, I'm giving this a 4 piece. Back in 2008, when there was no other Japanese restaurant nearby this one, this would be a 5 but competition is stepping up now and with the exception of a few additions, the place is overall good, not great. I had the Bento box which is a new addition to the place but I've had better. This place has always been a good starting point for Japanese food which is why I've enjoyed it a lot before but after having a more thorough experience at other restaurants, it just doesn't compare.

Sarku is a fast food takeout restaurant in Queens Center Mall's food court. Mostly teriyaki, and some other Japanese foods. Fairly quick. Maybe a few small issues. Nothing special.

I have been coming to Queens Center Mall and dining with Sarku Japan for several years. Whenever I come here, there is always a line when compared to the other food vendors - which just shows that it is has the better tasting food. The wait for their food isn't long though and soon as you finish paying, you food is ready to be picked up. Finding a seat to eat at the mall can be a hassle at times because there are so many people who visit the mall.

An Unforgettable Omakase Experience!…read more We celebrated the 4th of July with an incredible omakase dinner at Masaki, and it exceeded every expectation. Every course was beautifully presented, impeccably fresh, and perfectly balanced. From the delicate Red Sea Bream and buttery Scallop to the luxurious Toro with Caviar, Sweet Shrimp with Uni, and the unforgettable Eel with Foie Gras, each bite was a masterpiece. What truly elevated the evening was Michael, our sushi chef. He was warm, engaging, and exceptionally knowledgeable. He took the time to explain every course, the origin of the fish, the flavors, and the best way to enjoy each piece. His passion for his craft was evident, and his attention to detail made the entire experience feel personal and memorable. Even before the food arrives, the restaurant leaves a strong impression with its stunning Japanese-inspired interior. The space is beautifully designed, blending warmth and elegance in a way that feels both inviting and refined. From the soft lighting to the natural wood accents and thoughtfully arranged decor, everything about the atmosphere feels intentional. It captures the intimate charm of a traditional izakaya while still feeling modern and stylish, making it a wonderful setting for anything from a casual dinner to a more special night out. The food more than lived up to the beauty of the space. One of the first highlights was the salmon onigiri, a dish that proved how satisfying simplicity can be when it is done well. The rice was soft, fresh, and perfectly formed, holding together without feeling too compact, while the salmon added a savory richness that made each bite feel comforting and flavorful. It was balanced, delicate, and deeply satisfying in a way that made it memorable despite its simplicity. The seared salmon salad was another standout. The salmon itself was beautifully prepared, with a lightly seared exterior that gave it a subtle crispness, while the inside remained tender, buttery, and smooth. That contrast in texture made the dish especially enjoyable. Paired with the freshness of the salad, it felt light and refreshing, yet still substantial enough to feel like more than just a side dish. It was a dish that managed to feel both clean and indulgent at the same time. The grilled squid was particularly impressive and easily one of the most memorable items of the meal. Squid can often be difficult to get right, as it can become rubbery or overly chewy if even slightly overcooked, but that was absolutely not the case here. The texture was spectacular--tender, delicate, and pleasantly springy without any toughness. Each bite had a light smokiness from the grill that added depth, while the squid itself retained its natural sweetness. It was expertly prepared and showcased a level of precision that really stood out. For the main courses, both the Tonkatsu Ramen and the Black Pepper Ramen delivered distinct experiences, each with its own appeal. The Tonkatsu Ramen was deeply comforting and satisfying, with a broth that had a rich, velvety texture and a full-bodied depth that coated the palate beautifully. It felt smooth, hearty, and luxurious without being too heavy. The noodles had an ideal texture as well--firm enough to provide a satisfying bite, yet soft enough to soak up the broth and integrate perfectly into the dish. Altogether, it was a bowl that felt warming, balanced, and incredibly comforting. The Black Pepper Ramen, on the other hand, brought a bolder and more assertive flavor profile. The broth had a smooth, glossy texture, and the noodles again had a pleasing chew that gave the dish structure and substance. The black pepper added an unmistakable warmth and aromatic intensity that made the ramen stand out immediately. It was flavorful and memorable, though the pepper was slightly overwhelming at times. A bit less black pepper would have allowed the other flavors in the broth to come through more clearly and created a more balanced bowl. Even so, the ramen was still enjoyable, especially for those who appreciate strong, pepper-forward flavors. Overall, Izakaya Fuku is a restaurant that succeeds on every level. The stunning Japanese interior creates an atmosphere that feels both immersive and elegant, while the food reflects a real attention to detail in both flavor and texture. From the comforting salmon onigiri, to the fresh and beautifully prepared seared salmon salad, to the expertly grilled squid with its exceptional texture, and finally the rich and satisfying ramen dishes, every part of the meal felt carefully executed. It is a place that offers not just excellent food, but a complete dining experience, and it is well worth visiting for anyone looking for standout Japanese cuisine in New York.

They were grilled and seasoned well. I really liked the Fried Kaki (aka kaki fry, fried oysters). The breaded oysters were tender, fresh & juicy. We also shared Chicken Yakiudon, Yakiniku Don & Pork Katsu Don. The yakiudon was very good and the katsu was crispy and generously sized. I did not like the sauce on the beef in yakiniku don. The texture tasted strange. I'll try the gyudon next time. Menu said market price and I get it, that means the price will fluctuate accordingly, but $60 for the hamachi kama? I almost fell off my chair when the bill came. I have eaten at very high end sushi restaurants and am almost 50 years old. I have never had a $60 hamachi kama. This one wasn't even tasty!!! It was not good or flavorful. Tasted like they just defrosted and microwaved it. I was wondering why i kept hearing a microwave go off but realized after the fact that that's what they must have done. I did not complain. We paid the bill. We left. Later that night I had stomach issues. Nicest way I can put that. I will say that i ate almost nothing that day so I can only attribute the stomach issues to the sushi. Needless to say we will not be back.

The prices on the windows are very confusing and more like false advertising for me, the lower prices are for the members which we're not since this is our first time and definitely our last, unless our daughter wants to come here again. So the price is the more expensive one. For me, I prefer straight forward pricing, so this didn't give me good vibes, it's not the money, just the way they advertising and we have to know what we can only have with the price we chose. The restaurant just gives us the specific menu for what we selected to have then we don't have to be denied for what we chose because we selected gold instead of top of the line menu. The place is clean and nice. For $78/per person and only have Australian Wagyu Beef (not really Wagyu) then it's over priced. We did have some premium beef which I liked because of the marble of fat on the beef quite tender and tasty, but only a sampler or whatever they called it. Service with one person is quite inadequate but she's very attentive and pleasant, since she had to run the whole restaurant, sometimes forgets things. The tomato broth was good and everyone liked it. The seafood plate is OK and our sweet shrimps are sweet. Some snow crab legs, jumbo shrimps, fish fillets, nothing to make me go wow. The appetizers tempura is crispy and good. The raw octopus is tasty. The vegetables are fresh and clean. After they denied me the premium beef sampler, I let my daughter to order everything else and I just enjoyed with the family. My daughter seemed to be happy and ate a lot, so I was happy. I've eaten enough shabu, hot pot to know that Australian or American Wagyu are overrated, many of them are tough and chewy, not as tender as normal ribeyes or Brisket that I like. This restaurant Wagyu beef does have marbles of fat in it, so it's tender and not so chewy. So, for the GOLD menu, I don't think it's worth the $78 but for special occasions, it's OK. I just don't like the confusion of many menu, many prices, and not getting my own menu and get denied for something on the menu because I didn't pay enough.

Again, Maggie was really sweet, accommodating, took pictures for us and of course helped sing the HBD song which never not embarrasses me ever. darn. time. The ambiance is also always very chill, but a hit higher scale, with its beautifully colored mosaic-like rounded booths and a big, full bar, too. Knowing Mito is so good now and so close to my house can be a bit of a problem. I may become a regular but I guess that'd be a good thing for the business, HA. Thanks Mito for a special birthday dinner! Here's to more to come.

For starters we had to get Edamame and Calamari which was a little soft for my tasting but was still pretty good. For our mains, Chicken Teriyaki and of course so many selections of Sushi Rolls to choose from. Dessert and drinks were (Cherry Blossom Cocktail will for sure pack a punch) delicious and our server was so nice! Definitely recommend if you're looking for a new sushi spot :)!!!

I've always loved ordering takeout from this place, especially for their ramen and rice dishes, but…read morethis was my first time dining in for a Monday lunch with a party of three. We had a reservation and were seated right away. The service was good, and the seating was comfortable. The restaurant filled up while we were eating, which shows how popular it is. I tried their sushi for the first time and ordered the keizen don bowl. The raw fish was extremely fresh, the assortment was excellent, and the special tea-flavored seasoned rice added a unique touch. The portion was generous, and I left satisfied. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and will be coming back.

We ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen and King Crab Ikura Don over cold tochucha noodles. I thought the ramen was just mediocre and the chashu was very hard to chew. The noodles was pretty good. There was a good amount of ikura, king crab, and avocado included. I originally wanted the Sashimi Set but they didn't have uni that day. They would have just subbed it with something else so I didn't think it was worth the $55. I also tried the Tochucha Yuzu Lemonade which was good but not amazing. I didn't know what all the hype was over tochucha because it wasn't very memorable for me. Tonkotsu Ramen 6/10 King Crab Ikura Don 8/10 Tochucha Yuzu Lemonade 7/10
