My family and I always enjoy the food at Sarku at The Woodlands Mall. There's always a line for them in the food court. The food itself is always fresh. I've only ever had the chicken teriyaki and sometimes the chicken & shrimp. I've personally never tried the beef so I can't speak about it. They offer bottled and fountain drinks. For food court quality and value, Sarku is not bad at all! Sushi was fresh and tasty - we ordered salmon avocado roll and California roll. Bento box is a great value for the variety you get. An entree is big enough for 2 people. 3 of us ate for $34 and left full and satisfied. read more

It's Japanese food mall style. They do make it in front of you and will take requests, like adding more of their sauce. You get lots of food and rice, and it tastes good. Veggies are hit and miss. Came here for the first time with my wife. We ordered the chicken and shrimp teriyaki with fried rice and veggies. The shrimp is super small, but both the chicken and shrimp are very flavorful. The staff cooks your food on a grill right in front of you. The staff we encountered are fast and friendly. Pretty cheap considering the amount of food we got. read more

Roaches! Roaches! Roaches! I haven't even taken it off the counter yet when 5-6 German roaches started coming out of my platter. I was so disgusted and I knew something was going when the employees started acting strange behind the counter. I wasn't allowed a refund due to their "no refund" policy and I paid close to $40 worth of food. Safe to say I will never be eating here again and I just want everyone to be cautious about your food. Be sure to get a free sample while waiting in line. It'll make your tastebuds savor and crave more! The line can be long during peak times but their turnover is very fast. After you place your order, you can see your chicken being made in front of your own eyes. Let me start by saying this right here is some bomb chicken teriyaki. It's saucy, flavorful, and nicely charred on both sides. I recommend getting double chicken with fried rice. The serving amount is massive and it's sure to fill you up. This is probably one of the healthier food stops in this mall. I physically saw them put the big bag of very fresh looking vegetables in the container. They had broccoli, cabbage and carrots. I'm very analytical so I watched to make sure there weren't any old veggies or brown spots or white looking carrots. All the veggies looked perfect! They always clean the grill till no leftover food is on the main grilling part. The fresh chicken meat was put on half the grill and they cook it then chop it into edible sized pieces. Three ladles of teriyaki sauce and it was done. I got mine "my" usual way with all fresh veggies and chicken meat. Don't want to waste my carb allotment on empty calories alias refined white rice. Just my opinion. Been eating here at least 15 years or whenever they opened. Always have had a fresh FF meal. The guys or occasional lady that works here have always been friendly to me. I ordered the chicken teriyaki meal. Same as the person in front of me who ordered 3 plates of the same. I watched as the first 3 plates get filled to the brim with rice and chicken. Meanwhile I only get 3/4 as much. The rest of MY chicken was then saved for free samples. Ruined my mood, my dinner, and any chances of me coming back. Treat people fairly and stop cutting corners to save a few bucks. If rent is too damn high then get the fuck out. Otherwise, stop using customers money for free samples! I gave up some of my dinner and time for this. I hope u learned or go straight out of business for poor practices and unfair treatment. Go to hell! read more

For a mall's food place, I give it 5/5. Its very good. The meat and sauce go well together, and the meal is usually hot getting to me. It's super fast too. The chicken is tender. I sometimes come when i miss good stir fry fast food with a reasonable price. read more

I've been reading a lot of bad reviews about this place, and honestly I don't get what they're thinking. I've been coming here at random for a couple years now. Maybe a dozen times so far. Every time, the service has been fast and friendly. The food has been fresh. The helpings have been fairly generous considering the price. They're menu has slowly grown to include edamame, rolls, sushi etc I would by no means call this place "Authentic Japanese Food", but I would definitely call it very tasty and affordable Asian food. Much like going to a Chinese takeout, but even faster If you're roaming around the mall, this is definitely a place to stop if you want a good, fast, and relatively healthy lunch. read more

Love Sarku Japan. It is my go to outing. I wouldn't even move to an area if they didn't have one nearby. I used to go to the one in Seattle and Tacoma all the time. This one is also very nice. Quick service and fresh healthy food. I always order with white rice and I double up on veggies. I love the veggies with the sauce. I don't feel fat for eating it and I think for going out to eat this is a healthier choice. read more

It's straight up, good Teriyaki. I've eaten here at least 3 dozen time over the past 3 year. I go here whenever I come to the mall around meal time. I ask for all vegetables (they get them fresh daily) with chicken and ask them to go light on the oil and bypass their sauce. Add some spicy sauce on the counter to get it hot. Best healthy and tasty place actually in the mall. If you are really hungry, get the double meat. Sit in the food court and watch the world go by. read more
