I had signed up for the loyalty program and the website was very unfriendly so II tried to order by phone and couldn't understand the salesperson. I said I wanted one of the promotions online but was told that it had to be online. So had someone else who is very computer savy order and the promo didn't work and the total was almost $100 for three pizzas. I called immediately and was told the pizzas were already in the oven and it was too late to cancel. When I explained, a woman agreed to a small discount which was not received. I have had Sarpino's several times but this recent visit was after a long time. I can't recall the previous time I had Sarpino's. Anyway, I received a coupon/ menu deal in the mail and decided to make use of it. The nearest Sarpino's to me is this one in Riverwoods. I have ordered from their before but this around, the management had changed and it's under new ownership. I decided to get a couple of pizzas from their Gourmet/ Specialty pizzas options instead of build your own kind. I ordered one Vegetarian and one Pesto Veggie pizzas over the phone and mentioned to them about the coupon I was going to use. I was informed the pizzas would be ready for pick-up in 15 - 20 mins. When you go to the shop, you have to have a mask on. It's required. I had one on already and was going to wear one regardless if they mandated it or not given the circumstances these days. My pizzas were ready to go. I checked them to ensure they were what I ordered. They looked good. I asked them for some paper plates, Parmesan, and crushed red pepper flakes packets which they provided at no cost. I received good service from the time I called them to place the order till pick-up. The pizzas were delicious. Both of the pizzas were good. I had not had these kind before so that was a nice bonus. The pizzas hit the spot. I definitely recommend trying their Pesto Veggie and if you like it spicy, have them add banana peppers or jalapenos. Sarpino's to me is a good alternative to other chain pizza shops like Pizza Hut, Domino's, Papa John's etc. In my experience, I haven't had any bad tasting pizzas from them you get what you pay for. I'll be going back for sure, hopefully sooner than later next time around. read more

Dropped by for take-away. There are a hand full of of tables, you could probably sit at least 20 people in at one time, but it's more of a takeaway kind of location than a place where you'd eat. But if you wanted to, plenty of space! I ordered a couple of personal pan pizzas for my girls on the phone. Ready for pickup in 15 mins. I really liked the chewiness of the pan style crust. The sausage was a tad spicy. The sauce was well balanced, not too acidic. My girls devoured the pizza they approved. Each pizza came with a container of marinara - perfect for dipping the pizza and also a hot pickled pepper. Parking is plentiful as it's located in a strip mall. My dad I forced to get a pepperoni challenge which is half pepperoni half plant based pepperoni and conventional cheese. Came here to grab a couple of personal pizzas to go. The pizzas have a nice chewy crust and a good size for a personal pizza. The sausage though might have a bit of a spicy flavor to it so the kids might think it's spicy. The crust not too greasy. The staff was friendly and made sure our order was correct. Pros: - Open late - Fast delivery (like 40 min) Cons: - Fast delivery because the pizza was not fully cooked and the dough was still raw. - Since the dough was raw, pretty much every topping wanted to slide off every slice and everything was a gooey mess. Living in Chicago, I don't order chain/drunk/garbage pizza very often. If I want good pizza, I'll hit up a staple a la Giordano's, Gino's East, Lou Malnati's, Pizzeria Due (#1 deep) or Pequod's. In college, we knew each other quite well though. These days we are merely acquaintances. We don't talk or see each other very often. When we do, I can count on Sarpino's. Best fast food pizza. I won't even touch Domino's, Pizza Hut, Little Caesars or Papa Johns. That's below my standard. Sarpino's pizza tastes better. The cheese can't just be peeled off, the crust doesn't taste like cardboard and it's not under cooked. It's just right. On top of that you get free fast delivery. They always have coupons too. What more do you want from fast food pizza? The only thing I suggest is that you keep it simple with your order. Remember where you are ordering from. Stick to the pizza or calzones and keep the ingredients basic: cheese, pepperoni. I also hear good things about the sausage. Otherwise, you might end up with a different story. read more

The woman who answered took all of my information, but then transferred me to voicemail. I then got a hold of the person who apparently is the manager. He wanted to go over the whole thing again. There was no "I am sorry, we will make this right." Instead he threatened me and then hung up. I drove to the establishment at that point. I said I was lied to about the time it would be arriving and the day shift would be gone. Man said he would take care of it. 3 days later, my bill is still been charged for that amount. At their very best Sarpino's Riverwoods delivered okay pizza, but the other times where were only just fair. While there aren't a lot of great pizzerias in the immediate area (Rosati's and Amore just haven't "wowed" me yet), you don't have to drive very far to get MUCH better thin crust pizza. I know pizza is pretty subjective... I say it a lot in my pizzeria reviews. But, from what I've had from Sarpino's, I just can't recommend it, unless you're that person who loves limp uneven crusts, sloppy topping distribution, and oily cheese. In fairness, I've gotten them later in the evening and had it delivered - maybe it's better during the day and while carried out. I'd like to try their thin crust again, but it's a little hard to justify when they're only a few minutes away from Joe's, Wapaghetti's, or Nino's - all of which are also open late. I guess it's also worth mentioning that - so far - the Riverwoods Sarpino's had the best pizza out of all the other Sarpino's locations (two of which have the dubious distinction of being my least favorite pizzarias in the state). If you're hoofing it, Riverwoods Sarpino's was - in my experiences - at least better than the el-cheapo Tombstone or generic pizzas from the grocery store (but not better than a DiGiorno, Screamin' Sicilian, or Frescheta frozen pizzas). If you can drive; I think you can do better going a few minutes to the south or west (or getting deep dish from Lou's). read more

Not the best pizza but hey, they're open late. I've been disappointed in most of the appetizers I've tried as well - it seems like things just need to be cooked a little longer. Pizza is fairly limp - I prefer a little crunch to crust, not all the toppings sliding off the tip of my slice because holding from the end crust just isn't enough. I've tried several variations of the vegetarian pizza options, nothing has grabbed my attention yet. The jalapeno poppers could use a bit more crunch as well. Mac and cheese bites don't have much flavor. And, I don't eat meat but heard the wings were good. read more

I've had very spotty service in the last 4.5 years from Sarpino's. Both on the pizza and sandwiches front. Overall the food is okay or good, but nothing to write home about. The worst part is their delivery. Sometimes it's okay. But about 1/2 the time it's horrendous. We just ordered lunch today via their online system at about 11:30 and their system said the pizza would be delivered between 12:15-12:25. An email came through and said they were on their way at 12:15. All of that's fine...it's what we expect and anticipated. However, at 12:45 our pizza was still not delivered for our office. We called and were told they were just around the corner. Still no one by 1:05. We called and got the same story when we pressed harder and were told they were really busy that day. I've heard that excuse from them before. When we called the first time there should've been an option telling us they were sorry and they were backed up and it would be better to either pick it up ourselves or the truth then that they were very busy and it would be late but don't basically lie to us. If you're system can't give accurate times - get it fixed. Overall bad bad service and it's more than once and I'm just sick of it. read more

I would come here after Cubby Bear North would close at 1:30. See in the Northern Suburbs things actually close, and this is one of very few places that didn't close before 1. I would end up coming here and getting a salad, a sandwich, or even some wings.
