19 years ago I walked into Sarrtori and bought a simple, nice, white shirt. Last week I walked in again and Fredy remembered me!!! Simply amazing! His attention to detail on everything, amazing memory, tons of excellent options, and a nice relaxed shopping environment (he even made me an espresso!) made for a fun and exciting shopping experience. Fredy, the owner is charming, friendly, and, most importantly, he knows his craft. He is someone who takes pride in fitting his customers into the best possible apparel for their needs. He is also someone who you meet at first and five minutes later you feel like you have known him for a lifetime. He is a true gentleman. I also greatly appreciate the time and effort that went into making the suit fit just perfect. It involved going through alterations twice to fine tune the final fit, but it was well worth it. I also got two custom made dress shirts, that took a while to be ready but these were also fine tuned to a great fit. I have honestly never had clothes that were as good a fit for me as these items. I have been shopping at Sarrtori for a number of years, and it is without doubt one of the top men's clothing boutiques in the bay area. Fredy, the proprietor, has a great eye for picking out clothes that are cut to suit you, no matter your body type. i have purchased three suits from him, and each one has gotten many compliments. He carries Eton shirts, which are amazingly high quality - I have probably picked up 15+. And he has the most beautiful ties imaginable! They range from elegantly conservative to bold and flashy. I haven't purchased any of the more casual wear, but there is a pretty wide selection of that too. Fredy himself is a great guy, and I anticipate shopping with him for many years to come. If you are looking for something with a bit more style and character than the boring department store offerings, you have to check this place out. I needed a custom shirt for my wedding and only had 4 weeks. I had ordered my suit through indochino and had had several issues with fittings so I decided to go to Sarrtori for help with my shirt. It was the right decision (and I should have ordered my suit here as well). When I walked in Fredy knew my size just by looking at me - height, weight, waist, inseam - he called it. But he also had a line of shirts that he used to confirm his assumptions. We shared an espresso while I tried on the shirts. Fredy showed me the other items he had available but didn't pressure me to buy anything. I tried on some very comfortable pants. I normally hate shopping but Fredy had a lot of interesting stories and really wanted to get to know me. I was also intrigued by the level of tech he used in his store - for example he took a picture of me in stuff that I tried on and projected it on the wall. I got my shirt in time for the wedding and it fit well. It's rare to find a place these days where the salesman really knows his craft and believes that building relationships with customers is the key to a successful business. I visited Sarrtori for some formal wear last week and had a very positive experience. First time ever making such a purchase. I've worked in start-ups my whole life so I've always dressed "business casual." Even that was only for federal inspectors and you don't want to be dressed too much nicer than they are; it can put them on the defensive. Also, a team that's too formal makes it look like the place is "all chiefs and no Indians" and that can make them nervous. Fredy was wonderful. I ended up with something that definitely doesn't look like it was just pulled off the rack at a Men's Warehouse or other chain where someone followed basic rules but had no inspiration. Things are pricey but I definitely feel like I got my money's worth in terms of both the goods and the service. Nice to see a full service firm where you are waited on by someone who is both professional and passionate about what he does. That sort of thing is getting harder and harder to find. read more

The clothes carried at Sarrtori are well made and are meant to last. They are more expensive then some big retailers/discount stores, but you are getting great service, quality, and fit. Two days before traveling for Christmas, Fredy took my measurements and had a jacket of the right size shipped overnight to my destination in San Diego. I recently joined a performing arts group and needed to buy a tuxedo jacket with tails to wear for performances. Most menswear places don't sell this particular type of jacket, so I called around to find out whether anyone had them. The person I spoke to at Sarrtori was astonishingly rude -- the first time he picked up the phone, said "we close at 6", and then hung up before I had a chance to say a word. When I called back, he answered my question (they don't stock them) and proceeded to offer a snide "we're not Zappos" when I asked if he happened to know any other place that might carry them. It's hard to believe that a place like this can remain in business when they fail to meet the most basic standard of politeness toward potential customers.
