After I pushed back and questioned it, I was met with attitude instead of helpful customer service. Then suddenly they were able to source the same part locally for much cheaper, which makes me question whether they even tried in the first place. On top of that, they added a diagnostic fee that was never discussed or authorized beforehand. There was nothing that actually needed diagnosing either, the issue was stated and obvious.  I understand shops need to make money and labor isn't free, but transparency and honesty matter, especially in a small town. The whole interaction was dismissive and unnecessarily difficult. To top it all off, as the conversation was ending, the female co-owner made a chirpy comment implying that they didn't have to honor a military discount anyway before storming off. Regardless of policy, the attitude and lack of professionalism throughout the experience were very disappointing.

I wanted to see how consistent his work is. Something was draining my battery (not the alternator). 1. He sat down and we walked thru what's going on and the possibilities (most mechanics take your keys and call say they'll call you). 2. He gave a realistic time frame. Said he'd start tomorrow afternoon but finished tomorrow afternoon. 3. Fixed the problem. Explained what he did and we talked about future work. The professionalism. The honesty. The value. That's what will keep me going back. But the little things. The added spark plugs to my daughter's car. The fact he acid washed my rims and took 5 years of wear and tear off of them. That stuff restores faith in mechanics.

It took a while to get it completed but they were slammed (no pun intended) with work to say the least. Jeff's an MVP for that place, sincere and cares about his customers satisfaction. Jeff's amazing crew is second to none, they know their stuff and do high-quality work. My Hyundai had a noise after the work was completed (the cleaner noticed it and said something!!) and even though Jeff knew I was upset from it taking so long, he would not let the car go until his crew took a look at it again. I'm ultimately glad he made that call. He went above and beyond to satisfy me and in the end I'm glad I made the choice to take it there. I was not a happy with this car dealerships service department. After calling 4 times to setup an…read moreappointment, I got there and they seemed not to have any information on why I was coming in or who I was. After two hours, they told me that they wouldn't fix my car because there was no issue. The issue was cosmetic and it was a warranty issue from the Mazda corporation that Mazda would fix this cosmetic defect, this was not a recall. I decided to take my car somewhere else and after them taking a quick look I got a new part. I will not be recommending Lou Fouz to anyone I know.

I have had nothing shy of a wonderful experience every single time I take one of our cars in (maybe 6 times now since late 2017 or early 2018 I think). The first time I took my car in, I had a local auto parts store check my battery and alternator. They told me the alternator was definitely bad. So, I bought one, popped in the front seat, and looked around for a mechanic. B&T was able to get me in the soonest. So, I gave them a try. They called me shortly after I dropped it off to tell me there was nothing wrong with my alternator, that my battery was bad, and it would just be a waste of money to replace the alternator. When I picked my car up, I got a detailed tech report on what they did to test and what the readings were. All they had to do was NOT call me, install the alternator I already had sitting there, and was the entire reason I set the appointment anyway. However, they chose to be honest, call me, and let me make the decision. *The alternator is still working fine (2-3 years later) FYI* My poor girlfriend had bought a total money pit Subaru Legacy (unbeknownst to her when she bought it). We've had that in their shop 4 or 5 times I believe and they always do good work that I feel satisfied with and they don't charge you ridiculous prices. I am happy to pay for good honest work. That's what its all about. And that's what they do. I want to detail all other accounts, but for what its worth, take my word that every experience has been like my first, detailed above. I've recommended them to anyone talking about getting their car worked on (and I warn away from 2 places in town... you probably know 1 of the 2, if not both). Thank you B&T Auto Service!
