Took my mom to get a new pair of sandals as her feet swell really bad due to her kidney disease. The really nice gentleman working there ( forgive me for forgetting your name ) helped my mom - that old fashioned kind of help - he got the foot measurement thing and measured both her feet and then helped to find the right sandals for her feet that would be big enough for her bigger ankles and guess what - he found a perfect sandal that she can walk in and she loves . This pair of sandals has adjustable straps behind the ankle and on top of the foot and over the toe area. You only have to open the one strap over the top of the foot to put the shoe off and on. If by any chance her foot swells up more we can even add more strap by going to a shoe repair and add more to this specific sandal . All I can say is that you made my mom feel so special by helping her that day with your old fashioned shoe expertise , my words can't thank you enough . You can find some incredible walking shoes. if you are going on a cruise or traveling to any Countries and doing any long hikes or walking tours check this store out . I was impressed with the selection and thought that there were other brand shoes too~ my mother had worn SAS shoes as her 'nurse shoes' for over 30 years and still refused to wear anything else. But, they've always had the image of "my mom's or grandma's shoes". WOW was I wrong!! And Ryan was so patient and knowledgeable with how the shoes are made, why it's important to have good fitting shoes, etc while letting me try on some that he thought would be good fit for me. I'm from Hawaii and I don't wear shoes, but partly because I've never really had a pair that felt good on my feet. My sister purchased SAS shoes for my mom. The size was too big and we had to exchange but didn't have a receipt and my mom had thrown away the box. This store was kind enough to find the transaction in their system and accepted the exchange for a smaller size. Fast friendly service. I had already decided to purchase a specific shoe that I saw in their website. When I arrived they allowed me to try it, then asked if I needed an oil resistant shoe. They showed me the correct shoe, I tried it on and was out the door on minutes. Super impressed. First off this place should be grateful it's still in business. Very poor customer service. I gave two stars instead of one because they eventually gave us a refund on a brand new unworn pair of shoes. Supposedly they don't do refunds on certain shoes even if they were not worn and still brand new. They were literally purchased the day before. Well now that I think about what we were told after we returned the shoes I'm reverting to one star. The manager told us "not to come back" after we processed the return. Buyer Beware !!! Went to SAS shoes on Alicia Parkway in Aliso Viejo and purchased a pair of what they claim to be Comfortable Shoes. Not true for me. I wore the shoes for ten minutes and my right foot was really hurting. I sat on a bench and took off the shoe and walked bare foot. I went back to the store to exchange the shoe for one that was comfortable. I was told it could not be exchanged or returned. I paid $176.00 for shoes for 10 minutes of wear. They do not stand by their shoes or gave us any assistance. In my opinion, they take advantage of people. It is a everything is a final sale for these prices. Stick to Macy's, Nordstrom and Bloomingdales and don't purchase from this store or this could be your story. read more

I brought my elderly mom to the store to find some shoes that would help ease some of her foot and leg pain. Michael was so very helpful and kind to my mom! He patiently listened to her current shoe frustrations and helped her try on several pair, not to mention that he helped her stand up each time so she could walk around in the shoes with her walker. I bought shoes for work they seems confortable and the attendant told me to get special insoles for my shoes I tried on and the shoe was little bit tight,I told the attendant and he said it's normal as soon you wear them they gonna be ok ,So I went home tried the shoes and honestly didn't like the insoles so I went to return them and a lady told me straight up that they don't take any returns but also said to come back later or another day to see if the attendant who sold the insoles to me he may take them back so I went 2 days later and another guy was there and he said I'm the manager at this location and I don't take returns ,so basically lost 42 dollars buying those insoles why I paid over 200 dollars shoes and couldn't get credit for the insoles ,good luck with your policies I won't ever comeback to SAS I'm so disappointed of how you get ripped off with this kinda of business Iwill never come back bye Felicia read more

This rating is based strictly on the rude old salesman. My mother bought a pair of sas shoes a year ago. She loves them. I was visiting them from Texas and my mom parents were so excited to take me since I wanted to buy comfortable work shoes. The lady helping us was extremely nice and friendly. While she was checking on a size for us this old salesman comes up to us and tells my mom you can not try shoes on without socks. When I let him know that she is wearing her own sas shoes he just ignored us and walked away. I told my mom who was about to order her size to leave the store. I ordered the same shoe for her online with free shipping and no tax. This guy better change his attitude or this store will lose many future revenue because of him. read more

I've always heard wonderful things about SAS shoes and I especially like that they are handcrafted in America! I decided to celebrate a work anniversary with a new pair of work shoes. I wish I would have gone to ANY SAS shoe store but this one. Two guys in the store and not one word said to me when I walked in. I browsed the shoes and found two possibilities. I tried on one pair and then put them back in the box to move on the to second pair. Mind you, the two guys still have not acknowledged my presence. No other customers in the store, I guess that should have told me something. An older gentleman walked up to me and asks me if I need help. I say that I think I've found a pair that I like. He asks me if I've worn SAS shoes before and I say no. He then proceeds to tell me......nothing. Does not offer to measure my feet to get the correct size, does not offer suggestions on how the shoes should fit, etc. The only thing this "customer service" gentleman says is, "If you have any problems with the shoes, just bring them back in and we'll take care of it." So I think that if there are any problems with the shoes I can bring them back for refund or exchange. Boy did I think wrong. So I purchased a pair of SAS shoes and looked forward to wearing them the next day. I wore them for 4 hours of my 8 hour shift and was disappointed that they did not fit right; my heels kept slipping up out of the shoes. I brought the shoes back to exchange and the only person in the store was the "manager". I brought the shoes to the counter and said I needed to exchange them. The "manager's" FIRST response was, "Did you wear them?" Of course I wore them! That's how I knew they slipped off my heels when walking! (and YES, I did put them on in the store before purchasing and walked around, but walking briskly at work is a lot different that stepping around a shoe store) The "manager" then says, "No refund or exchange on worn shoes, it says it on the receipt." WHAT!!! #1 They knew I was a new SAS shoe customer #2 Did not offer assistance in getting the best fit possible #3 Did not explain the refund/exchange policy #4 NO customer service skills whatsoever The "manager's" solution was to give me a discount on a SECOND pair of shoes! I'm already in over $140, why would I pay MORE to have ONE PAIR OF SHOES?? I said no. The "manager" then offered to sell me inserts to make the shoes fit better. Again, if you had done your JOB to explain the shoes and make sure I had the best fit possible in the first place, there wouldn't be an issue. No apologies whatsoever. This store and incredible lack of customer service is a slap in the face to SAS Shoes. DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE!!! There are other SAS shoes in the area that are available. MAKE SURE YOU KNOW THE RETURN/EXCHANGE POLICY BECAUSE THEY DON'T TELL YOU!!!!!!!!!! read more

Cold, wet afternoon looking for shows for my 77 year old mother suffering from bunions. I've shopped at SAS shoes because they are not only known for their good quality but also for their orthopedic function. It had been a while since I have been to one and did not know that the Mission Viejo location did not move out of the area entirely but just across the bridge to Laguna Hills. I asked first salesman if their shoes come in extra wide. From that point on, I felt that he was encroaching on my personal space, just behind me by one step as I went down the 1st 2 rows of shoes. As I started down the 3rd row another sales person asked if I was expecting snow. I guess he hasn't seen a person wearing Ugg boots on a cold day. I would give this location no stars if that was possible for their shoe staff "personality". Service was not friendly and inviting - service was suffocating and insulting. I took my 91-year-old friend, who is legally blind, to this store today because she wanted a new pair of shoes and apparently buys all of her shoes here. An elderly gentleman waited on us. In all of my 72 years I have NEVER met a more rude, lazy shoe salesman. He did nothing to help my friend try on the shoes; i was the one who had to put them on her feet and buckle them. The one time he did come over when she asked him to help her remove a shoe from her foot, he literally ripped the shoe from her foot, even though her toes were clearly bandaged, and caused her to cry out in pain. In another instance when he had found a shoe he thought she might like, he made no move to bring it to us and clearly expected me to walk across the room to get the shoe box. When I asked him to please bring it to us, he did so reluctantly but was clearly annoyed at my request. I would never patronize this store with my business, and I would not recommend this store to anyone who expects friendly, helpful service when they go shoe shopping. In fact, i would urge them to run the other way as fast as they can!!! read more
