Absolutely my new favorite take out local go to. We ordered take out from grub hub, and my husband went in and ended up with more items that weren't on the on line menu. Our order was huge and so worth it.

Came back for more falafel and kebab (combination platter). The Khachapuri, which we tried for the first time, was so good, it was worth "cheating" on our gluten-free diet. The falafel and kebab were just as good as ever.

Came to eat after 36 holes nearby. Ordering was quick and the outdoor patio and restaurant was packed. I ordered a cheese steak, cheese canoe and Za'atar flatbread. Everything was delicious!

Had a great Mother's Day lunch at Sasuns in Derwood yesterday. The sampler (hummus, baba gonoush, kibbeh, spinach pies, falafel, Greek salad, rice, pita, tzatziki, and stuffed grape leaves) is only $24 and we added gyro ($4). Everything was delicious. Not pictured we also had the amazing olive feta cheese canoe and lahmajun flatbread which were both amazing.

I've been wanting to check out Sasuns Cafe for awhile. Near the intersection of Redland and Muncaster Mill, they're easy to get to with plenty of parking behind the restaurant and their own patio for outdoor seating. I ordered through Slice which is linked through their website but went to pickup. I think there's more to their menu than what is available on Slice though. There's so much on the menu, but I got the Mutabal (smokey eggplant dip) and Chicken Shawarma platter. It was so much food, so I had it for dinner too. All very tasty. I can see why it's a neighborhood favorite! Will order again but think I'll just call direct cause it would probably be faster... Easier... Better for the restaurant.

Having traveled and dined across the globe, I did not expect homemade pasta, fresh espresso, and Neapolitan style pizza to be in Rockville MD. If you live within an hour drive, just take the trip and have lunch or dinner here. Try the espresso martini! I shared a cheese pizza with my daughter, my mother had the chicken piccata, my cousin the gnocchi, my father the chicken parm, my cousin had a caprese salad and the further seats I couldn't see. We all shared a few orders of the calamari. EVERYONE raved about how delicious their food was. I agree. Probably the best piccata I've tasted. The pizza was excellent. The tiramisu great. The pistachio gelato was perfect. I sure wish they were closer to Florida!! So good.

The biggest hit for me was the suppli appetizer. These are absolutely delicious and vegetarian friendly! Similar to arancini but somehow even more delicious. These are a must-order. I had the pasta alla vongole and a bite of my husband's chicken parmigiana. Our friend had mushroom ravioli that she loved, but I didn't try as I don't care for mushrooms. I've been on a clams and garlic kick lately for some reason and the vongole comes with these and bonus bacon. I would have preferred the bacon a tad crispier, but that is personal preference. I'd give this dish 4* - I would get it again but after trying some others. From the one bite the chicken parmigiana was a 5*. Their marinara is very good and the linguine in both our dishes tastes freshly made. We all split the chocolate temptation dessert and I ate more of it than I expected to, it is chocolate mousse adjacent cake with ganache frosting, very light, perfectly sweet. Often I find chocolate desserts too much after a big meal but this one wasn't heavy at all. 5* My friend ordered sangria which she thought was more like a wine cooler; too sweet for her French oenophile sensibilities and a bit lighter than a sangria usually is, but I am a pleb who loves sweet drinks and I would order it. If you are a sangria purist you might not care for it. Hubs enjoyed his old fashioned but said it needed a dash more bitters to be perfect. I was driving so enjoyed a non-dirty Shirley. Prices to me are reasonable for quality and portion size; our tab ended up high because of the appetizer, drinks and dessert but if you just had pizza or pasta with soda it would be pretty affordable. I will be back to get more suppli and try other dishes!

That time finally happened when I had some time to pass before the event started. When I walked in, I was the only one inside and they were two tables with four seats each and a bench. When I looked at the menu I realized that they had the typical Pizza take out options, but also a bunch of South Asian options. I saw momos. I LOVE momos!!! And, even though it's not on the menu, there is a sign in their window that says you can get a slice of either cheese or pepperoni. PERFECT. So I got a slice of cheese and an order of chicken momos. They said it would take 10 to 15 minutes, but it actually took a little longer... Maybe 20? I stepped out and took a walk around the building. Everything was ready, and I grabbed it, along with a bottle of water, and dove right in. The pizza was piping hot, so I went to momos first. 10 come in an order with a sauce in the middle... My sample size is fairly low, but to me these momos were fantastic. Absolutely fantastic, flavorful and all, especially with the sauce. The pizza... for $5, quite average man. I didn't see any Red pepper or other usual Pizza fixings around. Usually one doesn't have to ask and they might have had them, but I didn't inquire. I really didn't love the pizza, honestly. But if the momos are an indication of the other South Asian options they have, I need to work my way through that side of the menu. And I shall!

Service: Upon entering, no one was at the counter which I thought was odd. Fortunately I saw a bell at the counter and rang it. A gentleman came out and greeted me. I asked his recommendation as I was wavering between the wings and cheesesteak. He informed me they are known for their wings. I was told that it would take 20 minutes to cook. When it was ready, I picked it up at the counter. While eating, the staff member asked how everything was and I raved how great the wings were. The inside seating options are limited but there was plenty of space at the picnic tables outside to enjoy my meal with friends. I ordered at the counter and asked what options are vegan. The Manoushe was ready quickly and I was in heaven after my first bite. The vegetables tasted so fresh! The base of the Manoushe had the perfect amount of olive oil. It didn't taste greasy or heavy, and felt like the perfect lunch to enjoy the onset of summer. The aioli made me nervous that it contained egg because it was so creamy and delicious! The entrees were very good. The salmon had a nice char, but was moist and flavorful. If you like salmon with a sauce, you'll be disappointed. I like mine simple, and this is a well-prepared salmon. The shrimp (3 large) were good. The spinach had a nice garlic flavor and the asparagus was well prepared - not mushy. The chicken Marsala also was good. The Marsala was light (not thick) and somewhat sweet. Very good. Honestly, the bread service was pretty disappointing. Our last visit the bread was fine, but this basket was pretty dried out and almost seemed stale. The oil accompanying the bread had almost no cheese in it. Essentially, you dipped tasteless bread into oil. Really disappointing. I'm not going to reduce my overall restaurant score for this one thing (because the entrees were very good), but the bread service was not good. The service was good.

The Wild Mushrooms with artichoke were just awesome and oh-so-plentiful, I do believe this one dish could've been a meal all in itself -- but not knowing that, I also got the Grilled Romaine because I'd never had such a thing before, and was interested in trying it. It was great! The Bowl Soup was delicious and comforting as soup is desired to be. Note on the soup: it doesn't have any pasta it in (or at least mine didn't), so if you're watching carbs or avoiding wheat, this is an excellent choice! It all came with some bread, too (that I ended up making a sandwich out of with some of the grilled romaine dish later). This was way more than one meal for me! All of it was delicious! ** Today, I fi-na-ly made it to Fontina Grille in person! It was a beautiful day to eat outside as long as there was some shade -- and so, the awning was put out just for us to lunch outdoors. There is a great selection on this menu and at lunch you can order either lunch or dinner portions. The lunch portions were certainly plentiful! The service was great, and everything was absolutely delicious! I especially enjoyed my side of zoodles. I was surprised and amazed at how well they were done -- they were so luxuriously long, it was really fun! They were also a beautiful bright green, cooked perfectly (not too hard, not too soft -- just right!), nice to twirl on a fork, and came with a really great, garlicky sauce. Mmm .... The salad greens were spectacular, the cheeses were mouth-melty, the bread at the beginning was superbly crisp on the outside and sturdy but soft enough, and chewy on the inside, the dipping olive oil with some grated cheese was excellent and helped tide me over 'til the antipasti of Wild Mushrooms came. I heard the Chilean Sea Bass in the Sea Bass Spring Salad was 'like butta,' it was so soft and easy to cut through and apparently very good. It came with salad greens, cutely-cut, skin-removed orange wedges, strawberry slices all neatly arranged around the edges, and a bit of delectably soft cheese. What can I say? Nothing was amiss! Parking was easy and couldn't be closer, with two designated accessible parking spots available right across the small street, and one not far around the corner. The ambiance outside (where we ate) was very nice. Everything was made easy. The (women's) bathroom is capacious, with a big, accessible stall and two others. The indoor dining area is very big with lots of tables. The best part of walking through the indoor area is catching a glimpse of the real fire, ready to bake! Overall, everything was totally enjoyable!
