From the type of container they serve it in (was expecting a nice, big "to go' bowl, but rather it is in a quart size container. This was nothing more than broth and noodles. Nothing else in it, no egg, vegetables, proteins NOTHING. Flavor was 'meh' . Roll was okay, not bad, not great. I have heard that for great ramen, one needs to go to Ramen 570 in Dickson City or travel a bit further to Sango Kura at the Delaware Water Gap for exquisite ramen. read more

I'm a frequent visitor to the Poconos because I like to go to the waterparks. Unfortunately, there aren't a lot of really excellent food options in the area, (especially at the waterparks, but that is another story!) so I'm always on the lookout for places that look like they might be good. After reading a few good reviews of this place on Yelp, I decided to try it with the in-laws. Satto Sushi is now a go to restaurant for me and the family any time I am in the Poconos, as I was quite impressed with the food. Portions are very good sized, and the food is very tasty. The restaurant features both Japanese and Korean food, as well as sushi. We ordered a few sushi rolls as an appetizer, with my father (took my family after using the in-laws as guinea pigs, ha ha!) ordering the Korean bulgogi, and the rest of us ordering Japanese style teriyaki and katsu. All of the dishes were delicious and filling. The people that own the restaurant are also very nice, and gave us a sample of their homemade kimchee. They were telling us that many Korean families each have their own recipes for kimchee, and this was their family's recipe, passed down for several generations. The great service definitely makes you feel welcome! All in all, the next time I visit the area I will most likely return, considering it is one of the best restaurants I've found around. Tried this place tonight since I was in the area at Kalahari Resorts and didn't like the options there. When driving up I was considering turning around, but I reminded myself how many reviews they have here, and that they're all good reviews for the most part. I was so glad I bit the bullet and went in. I got the house salad and the shrimp tempura to start, and WOW it was perfect. The shrimp wasn't too over fried and it came with some scallion pancakes. Then I got the salmon set and the philly roll. The salmon sashimi was melt in your mouth grade salmon. We got their galbi, jap chae and pancake and it was on par with some of the places we frequently eat at in Ktown in New York ( jongro , kanghodong, miss korea , samyeong garden , five senses etc) . We had a very nice time at Satto sushi. Not only were the calamari, tofu stew, and sushi rolls delicious but the staff were so nice and accommodating. One of the kids in our party didn't know how to use chopsticks and one of the staff brought out chopstick helpers for her. It's a great place with yummy food! I was visiting the Poconos for some Bonified Outlet shopping and stopped by on the way in, in Search of Japane food. I found it on grubhub and viewed the menu and a few reviews. Not what I expected at all. I'm not sure how to describe it. You know how people charge you more cause they know your not a local?... $68.+ for teriyaki chicken, an advacodo roll, miso soup, veggie fried rice, veggie soup, and a NY giant roll. Ok but I explained my friend was a vegan. So Why place the advacodo roll next to my fish roll so... he didnt eat that! Then no tempura, no brocolli, no brown rice!, no wait charged me 2 dollars more for veggie fried rice 9 95 on menu 11.95 in real life.... for a bowl . Hidden gem in Pocono! We live in lehigh valley, where Korean food is pretty lacking. Kind of surprised when we find this one on yelp and we know we have to try it out! Ordered bibimbap and Samgyetang, they are both really good and authentic! I have to say the Samgyetang is better than quite a few ones i tried in NYC. Satto thankfully, allows me to satisfy my sushi cravings without the huge disappointment of other sushi restaurants in the vicinity that will go nameless. If this tiny sushi bar with two tables for sitdown were in NYC, it would be about average. But in the Poconos, it's a godsend. Respectable miso soup, Udon, and standard rolls like eel/avocado, tuna. Didn't try any of the specialty roles. Age Dashi Tofu was very nice. The red bean and green tea ice cream for desert, above average and delicious complimentary hot tea. The rest of the menu looked quite appetizing and the prices are standard for good sushi Though tiny, it's nicely decorated, clean, nice guys running it, and I hope they do well. My family and I went to Chomi for lunch on Sunday to cap off our quick Poconos getaway. With limited options in the area, this small sushi spot was a nice find. There are only a few tables inside and a couple seats at the sushi bar. Fortunately, there was no other patrons there so our group of 12 could sit immediately at all three tables. Similarly, there were only three employees working, one host/waitress and two chefs. While it was a small operation, food was prepared quickly and the service was great. The sushi was pretty good and prices comparable to other sushi joints. I also had the pork katsu, which was fried perfectly and had a tasty sauce accompanying it. They also serve Korean dishes. Despite the spelling differences, the Bulgoki was indeed Bulgogi. Those dishes were pricy though so we probably wouldn't order again. read more

When you're in the middle of nowhere in PA, sushi is a nice alternative to diner food. My friends and I were very hungry when we got here, so I can't tell if the sushi was good because of that or if it was actually amazing. Either way, the sushi is still more expensive than it is in NYC (here's to location-based pricing!) and the Korean dishes are even more ridiculously priced. But anyhow, got my fill and enjoyed my share of four rolls of sushi. BTW, the space is tiny so it was packed even at ~7pm, so be prepared to come earlier. read more

I wouldn't go with s group if more than four people. There was s family of four there when I arrived, and I think that was just about as much as they could handle for dine in. I ordered take out. I had spicy tempura roll, eel avocado, fire roll, and spicy tuna roll. They all were what you expect from a typical sushi restaurant. The fire roll (spicy yellowrail, avocado and jalapeno) was pretty good. A little kick but not overly spicy, even with the jalapeño. When I arrived the hostess greeted me promptly to take my order. I waited a short time to actually give my order because there was a couple already there standing awaiting their take out. The wait was short. My food was ready in under 15 minutes. Prices are average. You will pay about $6-8 for a regular roll and $12-15 for a special roll. If I'm in this area again, I would return. read more

Coming from living in New York and Philadelphia, both cities that have a huge variety of sushi places, I really enjoyed my dinner here. At first I was caught off guard because the place is quite small. However, the waitress immediately greeted us and showed us an available table. Sushi came out quickly. I ordered the salmon platter which had salmon sushi and one sushi roll. It was very filling. Also, I got miso soup which was hot and yummy. And I got the lunch chirashi. Overall very good, rare find. Service was good and they were very pleasant and friendly. Priced a little high for lunch and they have an extensive menu but it's the poconos! Hidden gems and local businesses are what is amazing. We stopped here for a night away from kalahari nearby (about 10 minutes away). it was nice to get away from the chicken fingers and fries at the resort to got to a healthier meal in a quaint, family-owned restaurant. the seating is cozy in this less than 20 seat restaurant (that includes the 4-5 seats at the sushi bar). My kids came and one of them wanted to try sushi. we ended having to order two fo the spicy tuna rolls for him because he liked them so much. My daughter who is less adventurous had the pan friend udon noodles and edamame. My wife had a great dumpling soup with clear broth and clear noodles with vegetable dumplings that she said was perfect. I tried the Korean spare ribs or kalbi--my staple at Korean restaurants. they were great as well. would definitely go back if we were in the area. read more

Definitely worth the trip from Blakeslee. We were in the area to hike Big Pocono and shop at the crossing. Our friends always crave sushi when they come to visit us in NJ, so when they expressed the desire to find a sushi restaurant yesterday, voila. We saw not only was had sushi, but Korean food as well. My wife and I are big fans of bimbambop and kimchee. So Satto was the choice. We weren't disappointed. Plus our server was very gracious. Plus you know an Asian restaurant is authentic when you see two thirds of the fellow patrons are of Asian descent. Our bimbambop was excellent. Umm, soon tofu was one of the worse ones I've had (given that I'm a Korean, my standard is pretty high). The white dragon roll on the other hand was delicious. I would not specifically recommend this place but if you want to give it a try, get one of the rolls - I think that is safer. read more

We were at Great Wolf Lodge for a short overnight getaway. In that short time, we came to Satto for dinner and lunch the next day! That should tell you how good it is. :) Satto is small restaurant with only 3 tables and a sushi bar. They probably do mostly takeout. But don't let this stop you as we had a group of 9 and we didn't have to wait. We were greeted by very friendly staff. The bulgogi and sushi was excellent. The sushi tasted fresh and they had some unique rolls. I'll be sure to go back to Satto next time we're in the area! read more

We gave them a try on a recent trip to the Poconos and were pleasantly surprised (mostly because our expectations of sushi in the Poconos weren't high). A very capable sushi assortment, and the Korean dish was also good. And the sushi chefs gave us a little treat.
