This is the best BBQ I have ever had, hands down. While I'm not from the South, I've had BBQ in KC and San Antonio and Virginia- those were all great, this was the best. I am writing this review weeks later because I just ate at a place billed 'best BBQ in LA' and it was not even close, it just made me miss this place more. We got brisket, pulled pork and burnt ends- everything was incredible, but special mention to the burnt ends. We also got fried okra and fried pie and those were delicious as well. So, the wife and I ate at Sauced over the weekend. We are both a huge fan of BBQ but Sauced let us down. The atmosphere is industrial chic (they had metal pipes as condiment holders and pieces of wood along a wall). Sauced had a large menu on the wall above the register. The price point was on the higher side for an order at the register establishment. The two of us ate for around $40.00. I had 6 wings ($12) , wife had 1/2 rack of ribs ($14) a small side was ($3), i can't remember how much the drinks were. They did not have a soda fountain they serve drinks by the glass bottle. I felt like the price point should be for a sit down restaurant. The wings I had did not taste that great. I believe the grease was old and or needed to be replaced. As you can see from the picture i posted they were very dark and "crunchy". I'm not a fan of giving negative reviews on Yelp of local places but if you are looking for BBQ in Northwest Ark, I would recommend trying someplace else. read more

We visited Sauced and ordered the chopped brisket sandwiches with a side of cajun fries, okra, and macs n cheese. All very good. Don't waste your time. We ordered pulled pork, brisket, and turkey with beans, slaw, and fries. They were out of ribs and sausage (at 7PM). (1) The sauce bottles look very nice, but in practice seem very unsanitary. The bottles stay on the table and the entire lid comes off. The bottles were covered with sauce from previous diners (we had to wipe them down) and it's hard not to think about other people having had the lids in their hands and then putting their germs from hands or table back into the bottles. We watched an employee wipe down the counters, the lids of the bottles, and the inside rim of the bottles all with the same rag that got tossed back into a bucket of water. (2) All of the meat was cold. The turkey was the best, but not worth coming back for. The pork was doused in oil- we assume to give the impression of it being moist. This trick may work on a sandwich, but it's apparent on a plate. The brisket was okay- but your money is better spent at Wright's. (3) For it being "BBQ and Brews" the brews part is severely lacking. Beer is served in a plastic cup, and there is not a very wide selection. (4) When we walked in there was no music playing, so the ambiance was very odd- you could distinctly hear every table conversation. Music started playing before we left. read more

The brisket is moist and had just enough smoke and awesome bark. They sell out every day if that tells you anything. The sides are well made and tasty. We had the loaded beans and the fries. The beans had brisket and pulled pork in them , and they weren't too sweet like a lot can be. The fries were Awesome ! First off they were huge , then they came out crisp and had a nice season to them. We also had the turkey , super moist , and the Spare Ribs which had great flavor and moist but still tender. We liked all the sauces but the Carolina and the Bold were our fav's. The table next to us had the wings and said they were the bomb . We shall try them next visit. This place is LEGIT! One of the smaller business' in Fayetteville that deserves more support. BBQ is on point with what I have had in Austin and definitely tops out any local favorites like Sassys, or Wrights. I had the Macaroni with Brisket and Pulled Pork and it was all great. Macaroni had pepper in it which just makes it all the better and the meat made me feel like a man again. Also tried the house fries and I can honestly say these are some of the freshest and real tasting fries around. My favorite feature of this restaurant is the Chipotle Mustard sauce. We had the 3 meat combo platter with brisket, Turkey, and pulled pork. The pulled pork was the best of the three. This is the best BBQ I've had in NWA and yes, that includes Wright's. I did not try the brisket, so I can't speak to how that stacks up to Wright's, but I liked the ribs and pulled pork better here. I had a half rack of ribs ($14). On Saturday, you get one side for free with a rib order, so I got the Mac and cheese (usually $3 for a small, $6 for large. Same for all the sides). The wife got a pulled pork sandwich ($7). Service was fast and friendly. Yes, it is counter service. The ribs were very meaty, had a great smoke flavor (owner says he uses mostly seasoned oak), and a tasty rub on them. They came on top of a couple of slices of white bread with a few pickle chips. The pork sandwich was a generous portion, well-smoked and moist, on a very tasty bun (not a typical, straight-out-of-the-bag hamburger bun). The Mac is a corkscrew pasta in a creamy white cheese sauce. The wife's a Mac and cheese connoisseur and she gave it 4/5 stars. They have pork, turkey, brisket and sausage by weight (1/2 lb and 1 lb), and sandwiches made with each of those individually, as well as a few that combine two meats. You can also do a two or three-meat sampler. If memory serves, other sides were things like fries and beans. They have Arkansas beer on tap (Lost 40, Flyway, Rendezvous Junction, etc.) and bottled sodas. They have specials almost every day of the week. Maybe call ahead to see what those are. I want to be clear starting out: I want Sauced to succeed, and I hope they last on Dickson. However, I'm not quite sure who the intended customer is here. The price point says "sit down, nice casual" but the restaurant is an order at the counter establishment. And even though it's an order at the counter establishment, there aren't diet soft drinks or any fountain drinks. Sauced was a miss for me, but there were some positives. My husband got six wings, a small side, and a root beer. I got a half rack of ribs, a small side, and an unsweet tea (the only sugar free drink that wasn't water). I tried both our meals. I really loved the flavor of the wings and the meat. The texture of the ribs wasn't quite what I'm looking for - I want my ribs to fall off the bone - but my standard is based on the fact that I used to get BBQ in Memphis twice a month. My coleslaw was a solid "fine." Our bill was more than $40. I don't mind paying that much for a meal, but for the amount of food we got and there not being any table service, I didn't think that the price point worked. I understand that rent on Dickson ain't cheap, but I think that the pricing either needs to be 25% less if they want to attract the younger crowd or offer table service if they want to attract the Walton Arts Center crowd. You'll get a perfectly good meal if you go to Sauced, but just be aware of the Dickson Street upcharge. read more

We were looking for a new lunch spot and happened to find this while we were riding bikes around downtown Fayetteville. I'm not a huge fan of barbecue but this place was so good! We were greeted by very friendly faces at the order counter. Our food came out fast on a metal cafeteria style tray. I got a turkey sandwich with a side of Mac n' cheese. The turkey was impressively tender, I didn't know turkey could be that good. The Mac n' cheese was very creamy with large spiral noodles. There are three different sauces to choose from sitting on each table. I tried the bold and chipotle mustard sauce, both very delicious and flavorful. This is a casual sit down, order at the front restaurant. The decorations are cool; there is antique farm equipment hanging on the walls and an entire wall with split logs. There are places to sit at a table or against the large windows at a sit down bar facing Dickson street. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for some delicious barbecue. read more
