I went there because of an issue with my axle and alignment from a snow storm sliding into a curb. I went there and was assured that it would be taken care of or addressed for 3800. I figured it was a high estimate but went over it with the staff. They assured me that the vehicle would run like new and that is all it needed. Well after them doing a 3 hour diagnostic and everything. I told them to move forward. When the repairs are done my vehicle was running pretty close to the same as it was when I dropped it off. So I had gotten a ride (uber) to pick up my vehicle from the shop and it was about to snow so I told them I would get a ride and then take it back for repairs later. Well literally one week later from the original diagnostic they give me another estimate for around 4800 and say this is what your vehicle needs. The unfortunate thing is half of those things they were supposed to have just done and they were on there again. I certainly didn't want to pay for another diagnostic fee and didn't and had to take it to another shop that corrected what was wrong in the first place for 900.00. I took my exotic car to Saul's in order to repair a nail in the rear tire. The shop was not able to repair the tire due to DOT restrictions, but they promptly ordered a pair of tires to replace the damaged one on my request. I asked them to replace both rear tires in order to keep them both at the same wear level. Their work was timely, professional and there were no hidden costs and communication on the status was great. This is an A class repair shop. I'm very happy with the work they performed and the care taken to replace my tires. read more

After moving to Denver in December from Indiana, our plates were coming due and we decided we wanted to do everything by the book so we took our cars to Air Care Colorado. Boyfriend's car (99' RAV with ~170k) didn't pass inspection and so we wanted to get an opinion on how much it would be to fix the issue in question (EGR valve). Saul's offers free diagnostics, so we made an appointment and took his car, along with his ACC readout paperwork in. Two hours later, the receptionist calls and reads him off the price ($1200+). When he asked what needed to be done she listed off this whole list of things, including an oil change and a few other seemingly unrelated things. He came back explaining that he *only* wanted to fix things related to the emissions she told him it was all related and that was the final word. He thanked her and told her we'd be by to get the car momentarily and that he'd rather not perform those repairs. We didn't get the emissions paperwork back, but no harm done, I suppose. The interaction was fine and cordial, but it left me with a bad taste in my mouth. Our mechanic back in Indiana was always very straightforward with us and at one point told us point blank that our car wasn't worth fixing. I was hoping that Saul's would be that place for us in Denver, but it appears we'll be looking elsewhere considering a mechanic couldn't be bothered to even come to the phone. read more

Saul and his team at Saul's Automotive are by far the best mechanics around! He was honest and forthcoming about the maintenance my Honda Pilot needed without pressuring me into doing the work. Ultimately I decided to heed his advice and agreed to the services that were necessary. In my initial invoice he quoted me five hours worth of labor and my car ended up needing WAY more time than that. I was never charged for the additional hours of labor my car required and he stayed five hours after close to make sure my car was finished without any setbacks. When I called I spoke with A young lady who was very professional on the phone took time to explain shop rates and set the appointment for later in the day for a drop off. When I arrived I was greeted by her. She took all of my information checked the car in and scheduled a pickup by Lyft. Later that afternoon Bob called to go over the estimate that he had already emailed to me. They had my car ready as promised and for the estimated repairs. No surprises on the bill. Great job! By far the least professional experience that I have ever had with a shop. And I've actually had good luck with these guys in the past. Today I showed up a little bit before my 11 am appointment only to be told that "appointments don't mean anything" and they assumed I could leave the car for a few days. In what world is it assumed that I'd be without a car for a few days? They were much more concerned with the many dogs running around the place and the phone ringing off the hook than getting me an estimate. This place has become my worst nightmare. I'm not kidding. Saul's Autotek has moved beyond the point of causing me stress. These guys are starting to ruin my days and weeks. Aside from all of the problems I mentioned in previous reviews, now this: I picked my car up today after taking it back for warranty work on the alignment they supposedly corrected a week ago. This is the second time in less than a week I have brought my car back to have the alignment corrected. Unbelievably, the alignment is worse now than when I brought the car in this morning! What. The. ***? Wait, it gets better. I called the shop around 5 pm today (11/22, Friday) to let them know they could have the car until close so they could make sure the problem was fixed when I picked up the car. I told them I would stop by sometime around 6:15 or 6:30. I asked the guy who answered the phone to put the key in the tailpipe. Never mind the fact that he didn't identify himself when he answered the phone; the dude sounded like he didn't have a clue about car repair. But he agreed to put the key where I asked him to put it, and he said, "That's no problem. We do those kinds of things for our customers all the time." Well, wouldn't you know that when I went to pick up my car after hours, the key was not in the tailpipe! Fury is not an accurate description of how I felt at that moment. I had to take a Lyft across town to pick up my spare key at the house and go all the way back to this dumpy outfit. I did not get to spend time with my family tonight, and literally wasted the entire day/evening. I am beyond pissed right now. If you are considering taking your car to Saul's Autotek and and are reading these reviews before you make your decision, please, I beg you to heed my advice. For the love of God, run for the hills. This repair shop was SOLD about 5-6 months ago and horrible even to change oil... my vehicle always takes synthetic oil and I went yesterday to change the oil and advised synthetic oil....when I took the vehicle it showed to change oil in 3K miles... normally it is 5K... I immediately called and no one called back to I called the next day and then CONFIRMED it was synthetic... I was on speaker phone and at the desk of PEP boys on Quebec and the CONFIRMED it was NOT synthetic oil. Came to Saul's because they came highly recommend. Took my truck in to diagnose dying at idle. Spent $2200 replacing parts that had nothing to do with my issue. Saul is amazing. I had few problems with my 2011 BMW X3 and Saul fixed most of them and gave me advise on what to do on the stuff that only dealership could fix. He would categorize the repairs with priority basis and wouldn't recommend unnecessary stuff like the other mechanics. He even towed my vehicle for free from my apartment to his shop to diagnose the problem. He knows his stuff and is very prompt with replies in yelp. I wouldn't recommend calling the shop because most of the time they are really busy and can't get to the phone. Definitely yelp him and he will get back to you within minutes. Don't Call Saul I do think they have good mechanics but on two occasions the customer service was the worst! And I am not kidding, they will not return phone calls or call you when they say they will. The front office is poorly run and chaotic. If you have an unusual situation that no one else will address take your car here, otherwise find another mechanic. They are frustrating to deal with. I left a message for the owner and never heard from him. Probably will hear from him now. read more

In August I brought my car to be repaired for a "new engine" as stated per receipt for auto technician. Told it was going to be completed in 3-5 days a week max and taken the repair shop 4 months to get my car back and 2 more additional months waiting on a party that went on back order. I paid my dues to auto shop to repair the car. Then in February of 2022 I got a call to bring car in for final repair of vack order product and repair shop told me when I got there (dropping off for repair) that he no longer was keeping me as client and to find someone else to fix the car and to buy part else where when I paid the repair people for the repair of my new engine to be fixed. The owner had ripped me off and left me with a car that is still having sane issues that I brought it in there for. I have been treated like creak from this company for not communicating about pays as I was waiting 2 months prior to February as they had received part but no communication on bringing my car in for continuing repair. So they ordered it again and was suppose to be here in Feb 2022. This all started in August 2021 for repairs and dues already paid to merchant. The owner is rude and laughed I'm my face and started a fighting Remark when I arrived to discuss my car and why it was taking so long. I been nice to this company and even given 7,000$ just for repairs to not be competed correctly. Let alone they lied and only replaced cylinder heads instead of replacing engine. This was addressed from merchant after installing was in progress and they stayed they couldn't get engine so they decided this was best repair at that time after already signing off on documentation for new engine replacement. I felt I was taken advantage of based on my age. I don't make a lot of money and work in Healthcare for cardiovascular and use this car for transportation to and from work. My car continues to leak oil based on the ground in my driveway from my car where I park. The shop will not answer my call and my car sounds like a train. My car coming in didn't sound like that. Brought my car in for for an oil change and the check engine light was on. I was told twice that my car was next to be worked on an would be completed by the end of day. The car was not completed and I received no phone call that it would no be completed that day. This morning I picked up the car and was told the gas cap was loose and this was the reason for the check engine light was on. I was told they tighten the gas cap and the light went off. When I got in the car the check engine light was on and the gas cap wasn't even screwed in. Inconvenient an unreliable work. read more

Talk about dishonest. I was selling my car to a good person and we agreed on a price, but he wanted to take it to his mechanic first. So we took it in on a Saturday, the desk person said they were very busy and it would be the end of the day before they could get to it, I said let's just leave the car and we'll pick it up in the morning. When we drove in Sunday the car, a 2011 BMW, was in the same spot, I thought that was odd. I inherited the car from my daughter, and it was stolen soon after. So when the insurance company told me they would fix whatever was damaged, I had the Denver BMW dealer check it over thoroughly. I had new tires put on, and the alignment done, the locks were changed and the fob reprogrammed, because I thought the thief would be back, because he had the key. The morning of the AutoTech inspection I went to the car wash, and sprayed the engine so it would shine. This car was in great shape, it only had 50,000 miles on it. After the wash I took it to Grease Monkey and had them change the oil and check all the fluids. On Sunday morning we returned to find a list of 4500 dollars of repairs they were recommending. They said the water pump was leaking. There was no trace of any leaking on our driveway, and I'm sure the engine wash wasn't dried yet. They said I needed stuff, like struts, shocks, alignment and tires, and a bunch of other little stuff, like a power steering fluid flush. The buyer had his talking points, and wanted me to reduce the price by the amount of the repairs they recommended. I found out the buyer is well known to the staff there. I drove the car home, happy to escape the deal. The car is perfect, I may keep it, but I'll never take it to AutoTech. I honestly think they were in such a hurry that they looked at the car in the parking lot and made their list the way the buyer instructed them to. The buyer is to blame for losing a good deal, but AutoTech is to blame for unethical dishonesty. read more

I dropped my car off this morning just before 8am due to what turned out to be a broken power steering pump (loud turning , jerky steering wheel, whine ) and they had it diagnosed by 10, ready to pick up by 1:30pm! Did they do good work on the car? I guess so, since it is still running. But I won't go back. When I pulled in to have it looked at I was told "Don't worry about it burning oil on idle, that's normal for these cars." $2800 later it's fixed - usually "normal" is cheaper than that! No doubt the best mechanic shop I have had the pleasure of working with. I have a sports sedan m5 that was essentially junk due to a busted drive shaft and venos system issues just to name 2. Long story short John took my very expensive car under his wing and returned it to life. This shop put so much love and care into my dream car, every single bolt was loosened and tightened with care. The cost of this repair at a dealership was ballpark $50,000. The cost with these guys was less than a third!!! These guys are all rock solid and I will never take my car to anyone else! On a side note I was informed on every single part, I was shown replacement parts and I was shown everything I asked to see without hesitation. Was disappointed with my repair with Saul's Autotek. Was having a pricy repair done on my car that they assured me would be done in a couple of days. Two weeks later we were finally able to pick up the car. Every time we called for an update there was a part that was late, they broke a piece and had to reorder, or they were just low staff. Communication is not a strength of theirs, and eventually, it was hard to trust the word of the workers answering the phone. We were told they would be giving us a discount because of how long we went without our car, but the "discount" was them taking off the price of a computer reflash service their manager told us by phone we wouldn't be charged for to start with. Sadly, this wasn't caught by us until we were at home looking over the bill again. Moral of the story, if you are using them for any large repair make sure you have transportation set up for at least two weeks out and don't plan any moves, trips, etc that requires your car during that period. Also look over the bill super good in the office for any discrepancies in what they tell you. read more

**review based on having car serviced once... so I'm being conservative** I called Saul in desperation. My car gave me the warning that it was about to overheat while I was driving home on a Saturday night and I was looking for a mechanic on a SUNDAY. A Sunday... I thought all hope was lost. But no! Saul's Automotive is open 365 days a year. Saul (who is not some grumbly old dude) answers the phone himself, and is courteous and polite. He was upfront that he was pretty backlogged already (at 10am on a SUNDAY) but that he could at least take a look and give me an estimate on $$ and time. Sure enough, after about an hour of being there, he gave me the good, the bad, and the ugly. I needed a new water pump (or something like that). Saul also has a driver most days of the week, and they didn't blink an eye about coming to pick me up from my house. John (driver) is engaging, friendly, and chatty. I paid, got my key back, and was out the door. A bit poorer, but at least with some modicum of confidence that my car wasn't going to blow up on me. I wouldn't hesitate to bring my car back for any other issues. While I was waiting, I saw a ton of antique cars and a Lotus in the shop... I'd assume anyone forking the money out for a Lotus is pretty careful with who they let take care of their car. If they trust Saul with their Lotus, I can surely trust Saul with my Ford. read more

These guys are amazing. I took my truck having a shifting issue into the dealer. They told me it was my transmission and would cost 5k. The. I took it to Autotek and they took the time to figure out it was not the transmission that it was just a loose wire. They spent 6 hours sourcing the problem. They are who you go to when you want your car fixed right. I highly recommend them to anyone that needs services done to their cars. read more

My mother (of a certain age) took her car to Saul because the Subaru dealership told her there was a 'critical oil leak that needed to be corrected ASAP or her car could blow up on her at any minute'. Oh and it's gonna cost $3000-$6000 to fix. I told my mom to take it somewhere else for a second opinion. My mom took it to Saul bc thats "my dads guy". He told her the same diagnosis as the dealership, but said he would do it for less. She was ready to just buy a new car because she didnt want to spend that much money to fix the existing car. I told her to bring her car to me and trade me cars for a few days. I drove her car and nothing was wrong. There were no warning lights on. It's a 2013 Subaru. I took her car to my mechanic. My mechanic said that it could use an oil change and maybe tighten the bolts on the valve covers, but that her car is fine and perfectly reliable! He didn't even try to upsell on a brake job which I thought was not a bad idea. After a $50 oil change and inspection, my mother now feels great about driving her car! NEVER GO TO SAUL unless you want to get taken advantage of! read more

Very very disappointed with the service or more specifically the lack of service and deception received when I took my Audi to Saul's. Called 3 days in advance and scheduled an alignment. Arrived at 8am the morning of the appointment and was told it would take between 2 and 3 hours. At noon, I was told my car was still in a waiting line with other vehicles in front on me but was told it would be done at the end of the day. They gave me a ride home and I called at 4:30 to check the status. They told me that it wasn't be done til the next day. Discouraged I accepted the delay given the high reviews I've read. I called the next day numerous times and no one could tell its 'place line' or when it would be done. Calling at the end of the day, around 4pm, I was told it wouldn't be done again this day but would be done the FLOWING DAY - WHICH WOULD BE THE 3rd DAY!! CALLING ON THIS 3rd DAY I WAS TOLD THEY DIDN'T KNOW FOR SURE IF IT WOULD BE FINISHED BY THE END OF THE DAY. At this point I just decided to go and get my car and take it elsewhere. When I arrived, I was told my car was at there other shop and they were being very shifty (wouldn't tell me where this' other shop was, nore the phone number to the place until the mechanic I was talking with called Saul). when I told them I just wanted my car back. IT WAS AT THIS POINT I WAS TOLD MY CAR WAS AT BRAKES PLUS ON COLORADO BLVD BEING ALLIGNED!!! WHAT IT MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH SAUL'S BECAUSE I WAS TOLD THEY HAD THE EXPERTISE THE ALLIGN MY CAR (it's a high performance, rare car Audi RS6). THEN I FIND OUT THEY JUST TOOK IT TO BRAKES PLUS AND DIDN'T TELL ME! To add insult to injury saw that Brakes Plus does 4 wheel alignments for $67, Saul's was gunna charge me $99! I wish they would have just told me they couldn't do it to start with. I spoke to Saul and several of the mechanics. They seemed pleasant and knowledgeable. Being upfront and honest is so important to me when someone's gunna work on a car that took me a great deal of time to buy and one that I really like. read more

After an evening holiday shopping, my friend got in her car intending to head home. Upon starting, the car started and idled fine, yet would not respond to throttle pedal imput. I am a highly competent professional mechanic and engineer, however being that I was out of state, I was unable to fully diagnose or repair her car. Troubleshooting for a knowledgeable mechanic would be simple and straight-forward as there are only a few components in the throttle system. To the extent I could help my friend, I searched Yelp for a recommended towing company and automotive repair buisness. Saul was helpful in coordinating the tow to his shop, and indeed did resolve the engine problem by replacing the throttle body assembly and the car runs fine. At a recent opportunity to evaluate the simple installation, I found the crankcase breather hoses had not been reinstalled. Not critical to the operation of the engine, but the signature of someone who's not as thorough as their self-promotion would like you to believe. The reasons I gave the shop only two stars was because of the following reasons: 1) As a advocate for my rather naive friend, I wanted to know what faults were found with the engine to create the problem, and asked to speak with the technician directly. I spoke with Saul who was involved in the troubleshooting and repair. I asked intelligent, knowledge questions, however made no mention of my profession. What I received on several times during our 5 minute conversation was nothing short of disrespectful and arrogant responses. The kind you might expect from a rude know-it-all teenager towards his kind, patient, and wise parents. That was exceedingly unprofessional, condescending, and simply poor customer service. Saul, you're a car mechanic, not Einstein. Get over it. Seriously. 2) My friend paid upwards of $900 for the fairly straight-forward troubleshooting and part replacement. The OEM part was about $500. That's $400 for mostly labor, which at the hands of a properly equipped and knowledgeable technician, was probably 2 to 2.5 hrs. Do the math. My daughter's car had alignment issues, front tires wobbled like crazy at high speeds and it just didn't drive right. We were pressed for time as we were moving in 2 days and needed a repair right away. Just happened to come across Saul's Autotek by a google search and they were able to take a look right away. The staff are professional, courteous and willing to go that extra mile to ensure your vehicle is taken care of and done so correctly as well as quickly. Saul, the owner is amazing as well...always available to walk thru the necessary repair, parts and time frame. I ended up needed a pretty extensive repair but they were able to complete the job in time for our move. Now the car drives better than ever - and we need to drive it across country to drop it off to our daughter at college. The entire team was amazing! Highly, highly recommend Saul's Autotek! This was the worst shop I have ever worked with in my life. They replaced the catalytic converter on my son's 2005 Prius for $2363 on 7/17. Three weeks later, it was stolen and once they heard insurance was paying, the price jumped to $4652. They told so many lies over the course of 3 plus weeks and held my car hostage. (It was working, it wasn't working, they ordered the part from NJ which is why it was so expensive, then they said they didn't order the part when they went to fix it, the price kept changing, they put a boot on my car, they said they would call me back and then didn't, it would take an hour to fix once they had the go ahead, but it was 4 days later when it was completed, etc.,) They claimed they were charging $3100 of storage fees to the insurance company for 2 1/2 weeks of storage if I would get it fixed elsewhere. Within 3 more days the fee went up to $5000 and then said they never agreed to $3100 even though there was a 3 way call with my insurance company and we both remember them saying that. "Storage" wasn't even locked, but parked on the road and not secure. They told me they put a boot on it, which they didn't, to secure it. They told me the car had other problems which caused it not to run, which it didn't. They NEVER moved it from the original spot so they had no idea if it had problems. (I took pictures, so don't lie again Saul's) I had a choice - pay $2000 of my own money to get the catalytic converter fixed or pay $2000 for storage. Either way I was out of luck. I opted to pay to fix it. We picked the car up and the mechanic jammed the fob into the ignition so we couldn't get it out. We used the valet key to lock the car but the car was stolen that night. I wouldn't be surprised if they did it on purpose and told their buddies where I lived. One of the worst things was I felt taken advantage of because I am a woman. They have three women working there and none of them think what they are doing is wrong. Once I started saying their rates were high and other mechanics didn't charge that much for storage and repairs their tune with me changed. They stopped saying that the insurance company is trying to drive a wedge between you (our customer) and us. I no longer became a customer they valued when I begged them to only take the $3100 of storage fees that they agreed to and they refused. It is a sad, sad place and dishonesty and greed are their #1 values. I would give them a zero if I could. Save yourself grief, don't go to Saul's Autotek. This is one of those places that overpromises and under-delivers. If you're a female, I would not suggest going here. You will be treated as if you don't have a brain in your head. Even if you have an appointment, you will be made to wait a long time. In response to the owner's lies: I have been to his shop TWICE IN THE LAST MONTH with a Nissan Pathfinder. It has not been over 2 years since I've been in his shop. He just doesn't remember because female customers are so unimportant to him. He has never called me back. He said his marketing person, who was so rude and condescending to me, would call me back, but he never did. Instead he sent me threatening FB messages. This is not a professional shop. Saul is lying, plain and simple. It has not been 3 years since I've been this shop. This is about two chauvinists who cannot take responsibility for their bad behavior. Absolutely horrible experience. They tried to quote me for fake problems, bungled my quote writeup and misquoted me for basically everything. Oh, and they tried to sell me a $500 generic brand radiator when oem Toyota is $190 retail, lol. Not even including labor. Total scum read more
