After I added bacon, butter and green onions.
    Robbie R.

I got a couple of these twice baked potatoes from the deli. I saw them and they're previously frozen, but all ya gotta do is toss them in the microwave or oven, they're already cooked. What it is, is a baked potato halved and scooped out and then that stuff is mixed with butter, sour cream and bacon and maybe some milk and then squirted back into the scooped out potato skin using a pastry tube thingy. Then you just reheat the whole thing. I think these are made off site and shipped frozen, so if you wanna keep some for later, ask for some of the frozen ones that have in the back, Get this, the price is just $2.50 each. Sure potatoes are cheap, but there a lotta labor that goes into this, so I think the price is a bargain, and I don't wanna do that work either! I added more butter and Costco bacon bits and some green onion ... oh yeah that was good!

Got this watermelon from Save Mart, only to cut it open one day later to find it was rotten and had mold spots.

I come here regularly and would normally give 5 stars. But I took one off this time because of the watermelon I purchased here for my wife the other day. When we cut it open the next day, it was moldy and rotten. I'm not an expert on fruit and even though it looked a bit off, I wasn't positive. So I tried it just to make sure, and sure enough it tasted awful. For such a normally good store, I was disappointed this time.

Save Mart, where are the savings? I am stunned Nugget is less expensive on any items.

This is a two part review, I have been coming to save mart for about five years. During that time, it has slowly become more of our go-to store, but does have some competition from Safeway and Rayleys. Overall, I feel treated very well. I have worked with the butcher shop on items like ordering a rib roast for the holidays to ensure I get one prior to them selling out. They have always honored he requests and never asked for deposit or purchase even when I have offered to do so. Similarly, when there is a solid deal on something in a max pack, and there are no "Max packs" available, they will try to make a max pack out of the individually wrapped items or look in the back. Regarding the service, I have never been mistreated, in fact, they have treated me well. I have had some pricing mis-matches and for the most part, they go on the honor system but I do know many of the employees. Finally, and I am a bit apprehensive to mention this, but they make some incredible chicken tenders and recently added wings. They have several flavors, but what was consistent overall was the ratio of meat to bone, and overall size. Some were the size of a small drumstick. They were piping hot, fresh, and tasty. I am partial to salt and vinegar and these here are legit- additionally, for a quick dinner I grab a pound or two of the chicken tenders, a fresh French roll, and then come home, spread some spaghetti sauce on the bread, top with mozzarella and broil for a few min to heat it up until bubbly and starting to brown. Add the chicken and you have a solid chicken parmigiana. Finally, price wise, like all supermarkets, you got to get the loyalty app, check the weekly ad, clip some coupons electronically, and you can save some significant cash. Having said that, overall, a solid value place if you are looking to stretch a dollar. About every other week they will have a great price on salmon fillet or steak. Both have always been quality items well worth the price. I hope they do bring back the bbq in the summer where you can get a cooked tri tip, that stopped due to the pandemic.

okay guys. a few weeks ago i was on yelp asking where i should take me wifey for valentine's day right? and no one suggested anything so i'm like, aw frick what the heck am i gonna do? so i start thinking and let me just say that vera has been a bit hesitant to let me pick what we do on valentine's day ever since wafflegate. then i'm like: savemart. foothills savemart is dope as frick. so i go, "*finger snap* honey, get in the car. we're gonna have a getaway for valentines" and we get in the car and i turn on katy perry's teenage dream because holy frick its a good song. plus it was on at sunsplash in roseville when we went on our honeymoon. so wifey and i arrive at savemart and she's sitting there in stunned silence. coiled in a ball. "c'mon honey we're gonna go get cakes!" so she's really quiet and we go in and we pick out single serve cakes. oh. my. freaking. heck. the bakery section is always my favorite because it is like a vacation in itself. better than like italy or funderland. top tier baked goods my dudes. holy wow. she picked the german chocolate and i got the party cake because who the frick doesn't want a party in cake format? and they weren't kidding like it was a total mouth rave. the service was pretty cool too like one lady was laughing that i was dancing behind vera and poking her while man i feel like a woman was on. good times. we checked out the rice section which was really dope too. vera was getting a bit impatient and hungry (we skipped dinner to come here) but cmon there was a really good sale on instant basmati like how the frick am i gonna pass that up? we checked out the firewood too which was really a cool vicarious life experience because i don't have a firepit (yet) but it was emotional getting to see the logs and stuff. i want one. okay. and vera says if i behave starting rigth now i can get some logs. so guess who has some really dope logs now? boom. me. the outdoor section is organized nice. i further entertained her with chocolate on my head because i do this funny bit where i'm captain cocoa the candy pirate and it's super funny. maybe you guys saw. i love foothills savemart. prices were dope. store was clean. this place is like the most ideal destination ever. vera thought we were going to eat the cakes in the car or go to the park or something but i was like "honey pop a squat we're eating these bad boys out front" so we did that right next to the soda machine. absolutely fantastic. PEACE DUDES.

I order a cake on the bakery on Sunday to come pick it up on 24th on Tuesday but they put the right data but they put the wrong day so they put Thursday instead of Tuesday I don't know what is going on if you guys cannot hold it come on get someone else that they can do it correctly

My New Year started with Employee Joseph showing me what the worst possible Save Mart employee behaves like. At 6:20pm 1/2/2023 I began to checkout at the self check-out at the Savemart in Roseville when I was immediately confronted by Joseph. Joseph told me it was 15 items or less so I asked "is possible to still proceed?" He told me no and insisted that I go to a cashier POS station. As I obliged, I walk back into the store shopping floor but bumped the 15 items or less sign lightly. Joseph then ran up to me and grabbed my cart proceeding to embarrass me in front of the other customers as he attempted to pull my cart away, refused service and childishly threw a fit. I asked for his manager and he told me he was the manager. It required Brian and Mimi to help me since Joseph refused. I would never consider Joseph to be on my payroll. This is quintessentially the worst employee a company can have, I feel discriminated against and I implore management of any team anywhere to view this as what not to do for their employees. https://youtu.be/rqqhKnWABsY

First and most important star: Pushkin's is predominantly vegan, gluten-free, and dairy-free -- and bakeries that truly excel in all three are one in a million. For anyone with allergies or dietary restrictions, this place feels like winning the lottery. You can actually relax and enjoy treats without feeling like you're settling or taking a risk. Second star: the employees are incredibly friendly and genuinely passionate. One guy (nose ring, long blonde hair -- didn't catch his name) was amazing. He knew the pastries inside and out and patiently walked my wife through allergy questions about dairy-free options, putting her totally at ease. And trust me, my wife can ask a thousand questions (till u wanna choke her).. Another employee -- a short, curly-haired, very light-skinned/mixed Black woman -- was just as gracious when we asked about cashews for our daughter. Both of them were beyond kind and knowledgeable. Third star: great coffee. I only had an Americano, but it was really good -- smooth, rich, and exactly what you want with pastries like these. Fourth star: the place is clean, organized, and clearly well-run. It was busy, but the team handled the crowd efficiently without feeling rushed or chaotic. Fifth star (the fun one): the pastries are ridiculously good. We tried a bunch: * chocolate mud cookie -- perfect crunch on the outside, chewy inside * cinnamon-roll-style pound cake -- super moist and flavorful * cinnamon roll scone * almond cake with raspberry ...and several others I didn't catch the names of. Everything was delicious. You'd never guess these are vegan/gluten-free/dairy-free -- they're just straight-up amazing pastries. Bottom line: Pushkin's is a gem. If you have dietary restrictions, it's a must-visit. If you don't, are you sure you don't? Maybe you should? it's still a must-visit. We'll absolutely be back when in town to check out the cafe and real food items !

It is rather tiny on the inside with only three tables of two. So if you are wanting to sit and eat, you need to be a small party, or take your food with you to go. Thankfully there was plenty of room when we arrived for our party of three. Their decor is cute with plenty o goose to view, as well as their baked goods. Since it was our maiden voyage here we did ask the nice gal who was at the register for a couple of recommendations which we took. The hubster tried the Ham and Peach Grilled Cheese, the MIL did the Pick Two which included a half Rosemary Chicken Sandwich and the Strawberry Poppyseed salad, I also got the Pick Two and chose half Citrus Club Sandwich and the Street Corn Cesar salad. Everything was made fresh to order and was incredibly tasty! The hubster and I also shared a Cherry Limeade Summer Sipper which was divine. We decided we could not leave with out taking a few goodies with us for later. So we bought a Lemon Bar, a Blackberry Cheesecake Bar, and a Chocolate Sea Salt Shortbread. We don't venture to Rocklin on a regular basis, but when we do, it's nice to know where to go and to support a small business like this. Give them a try. You will be impressed too!

I brought the coffee back and had asked them to remake it and the barista informed me that it only comes with 1 shot of espresso per drink thus thats why it taste so milky. 1 shot? What? I was so shocked, in such a big cup I would expect at least two shots since the total of it was over $7. Anyways I asked them to remake it with less milk and 5-6 minutes later, it honestly ended up just being worse than earlier... Now it just taste very watery, like a diluted espresso and I can't even drink it. She was nice and helpful but I was disappointed I couldn't enjoy the coffee like I wanted to. So I just tossed the whole cup away, what a waste.

This year, we ordered our Rosca--a traditional Mexican baked good--to celebrate Three Kings Day, and it was so delicious. If I could only choose one bakery for the rest of my life, it would be Coco Cake Bakery…read more Coco is not a traditional French bakery, although it could easily outperform most of them without breaking a sweat. It is something rarer, a kind of culinary alchemy where the soul of a Mexican bakery meets the precision of a French one and then raises the roof entirely. Everything here is made in house, which sounds obvious until you realize how few places actually do it. Fillings, toppings, doughs, creams, all of it crafted from scratch with the kind of intention you can taste. I had a pineapple empanada where the pineapple still had texture, real structure, not the mush you find in lesser hands. We have had the tres leches cake, a genuine masterpiece, and the sweet rolls which might very well be the best anywhere. Most bakeries load their cases with dozens of options and hit "pretty good" on most of them. Coco chooses fewer and executes each one perfectly. That is the difference. This is a place you want to see still standing twenty years from now, doing exactly what it is doing today, untouched by shortcuts or trends. Because Coco is built on something deeper. You can feel the heritage in the pastries, a lineage that did not come from a school or from climbing the ladder in someone else's kitchen. These recipes feel like they came from the old lands and were brought forward with respect. No corners cut, no fast rising yeast, no modern twists for the sake of novelty. Just the way things were meant to be made. My "triad of culinary excellence" holds strong here. Ambiance: the smell alone is heavenly, and the space is clean, warm, and inviting. Service: above and beyond, with the baker himself willing to accommodate anything you ask and owners who are as genuine as they are talented. Pastries: excellent, full stop. You can taste the love and the pride in every single one. When the sweet rolls came out hot from the oven, the aroma of sugar and yeast filled the air and made every other bakery's attempt feel inadequate by comparison. Coco doesn't just make pastries, it restores your faith in what a bakery is supposed to be. If you have only one bakery left to choose, make it this one. Coco Cake Bakery is the standard.
