After I added bacon, butter and green onions.
    Robbie R.

I got a couple of these twice baked potatoes from the deli. I saw them and they're previously frozen, but all ya gotta do is toss them in the microwave or oven, they're already cooked. What it is, is a baked potato halved and scooped out and then that stuff is mixed with butter, sour cream and bacon and maybe some milk and then squirted back into the scooped out potato skin using a pastry tube thingy. Then you just reheat the whole thing. I think these are made off site and shipped frozen, so if you wanna keep some for later, ask for some of the frozen ones that have in the back, Get this, the price is just $2.50 each. Sure potatoes are cheap, but there a lotta labor that goes into this, so I think the price is a bargain, and I don't wanna do that work either! I added more butter and Costco bacon bits and some green onion ... oh yeah that was good!

Got this watermelon from Save Mart, only to cut it open one day later to find it was rotten and had mold spots.
    Matthew K.

I come here regularly and would normally give 5 stars. But I took one off this time because of the watermelon I purchased here for my wife the other day. When we cut it open the next day, it was moldy and rotten. I'm not an expert on fruit and even though it looked a bit off, I wasn't positive. So I tried it just to make sure, and sure enough it tasted awful. For such a normally good store, I was disappointed this time.

Save Mart, where are the savings? I am stunned Nugget is less expensive on any items.

This is a two part review, I have been coming to save mart for about five years. During that time, it has slowly become more of our go-to store, but does have some competition from Safeway and Rayleys. Overall, I feel treated very well. I have worked with the butcher shop on items like ordering a rib roast for the holidays to ensure I get one prior to them selling out. They have always honored he requests and never asked for deposit or purchase even when I have offered to do so. Similarly, when there is a solid deal on something in a max pack, and there are no "Max packs" available, they will try to make a max pack out of the individually wrapped items or look in the back. Regarding the service, I have never been mistreated, in fact, they have treated me well. I have had some pricing mis-matches and for the most part, they go on the honor system but I do know many of the employees. Finally, and I am a bit apprehensive to mention this, but they make some incredible chicken tenders and recently added wings. They have several flavors, but what was consistent overall was the ratio of meat to bone, and overall size. Some were the size of a small drumstick. They were piping hot, fresh, and tasty. I am partial to salt and vinegar and these here are legit- additionally, for a quick dinner I grab a pound or two of the chicken tenders, a fresh French roll, and then come home, spread some spaghetti sauce on the bread, top with mozzarella and broil for a few min to heat it up until bubbly and starting to brown. Add the chicken and you have a solid chicken parmigiana. Finally, price wise, like all supermarkets, you got to get the loyalty app, check the weekly ad, clip some coupons electronically, and you can save some significant cash. Having said that, overall, a solid value place if you are looking to stretch a dollar. About every other week they will have a great price on salmon fillet or steak. Both have always been quality items well worth the price. I hope they do bring back the bbq in the summer where you can get a cooked tri tip, that stopped due to the pandemic.

okay guys. a few weeks ago i was on yelp asking where i should take me wifey for valentine's day right? and no one suggested anything so i'm like, aw frick what the heck am i gonna do? so i start thinking and let me just say that vera has been a bit hesitant to let me pick what we do on valentine's day ever since wafflegate. then i'm like: savemart. foothills savemart is dope as frick. so i go, "*finger snap* honey, get in the car. we're gonna have a getaway for valentines" and we get in the car and i turn on katy perry's teenage dream because holy frick its a good song. plus it was on at sunsplash in roseville when we went on our honeymoon. so wifey and i arrive at savemart and she's sitting there in stunned silence. coiled in a ball. "c'mon honey we're gonna go get cakes!" so she's really quiet and we go in and we pick out single serve cakes. oh. my. freaking. heck. the bakery section is always my favorite because it is like a vacation in itself. better than like italy or funderland. top tier baked goods my dudes. holy wow. she picked the german chocolate and i got the party cake because who the frick doesn't want a party in cake format? and they weren't kidding like it was a total mouth rave. the service was pretty cool too like one lady was laughing that i was dancing behind vera and poking her while man i feel like a woman was on. good times. we checked out the rice section which was really dope too. vera was getting a bit impatient and hungry (we skipped dinner to come here) but cmon there was a really good sale on instant basmati like how the frick am i gonna pass that up? we checked out the firewood too which was really a cool vicarious life experience because i don't have a firepit (yet) but it was emotional getting to see the logs and stuff. i want one. okay. and vera says if i behave starting rigth now i can get some logs. so guess who has some really dope logs now? boom. me. the outdoor section is organized nice. i further entertained her with chocolate on my head because i do this funny bit where i'm captain cocoa the candy pirate and it's super funny. maybe you guys saw. i love foothills savemart. prices were dope. store was clean. this place is like the most ideal destination ever. vera thought we were going to eat the cakes in the car or go to the park or something but i was like "honey pop a squat we're eating these bad boys out front" so we did that right next to the soda machine. absolutely fantastic. PEACE DUDES.

My New Year started with Employee Joseph showing me what the worst possible Save Mart employee behaves like. At 6:20pm 1/2/2023 I began to checkout at the self check-out at the Savemart in Roseville when I was immediately confronted by Joseph. Joseph told me it was 15 items or less so I asked "is possible to still proceed?" He told me no and insisted that I go to a cashier POS station. As I obliged, I walk back into the store shopping floor but bumped the 15 items or less sign lightly. Joseph then ran up to me and grabbed my cart proceeding to embarrass me in front of the other customers as he attempted to pull my cart away, refused service and childishly threw a fit. I asked for his manager and he told me he was the manager. It required Brian and Mimi to help me since Joseph refused. I would never consider Joseph to be on my payroll. This is quintessentially the worst employee a company can have, I feel discriminated against and I implore management of any team anywhere to view this as what not to do for their employees. https://youtu.be/rqqhKnWABsY

GAS STATION REVIEW:…read more Let me start by saying Aaron gets 5 stars. He stepped in and handled his coworker who is so confused and easily irritated.  I stopped at the Safeway gas station today and had a very disappointing experience with one of the cashiers. She is the older lady with dark hair and has a bad attitude. I think her name is Johna. Negative stars if I can goes to her. She couldn't ring me up because she can't do simple math or knows how to use the register. Easily confused and then gets upset. Aaron was right next to her and thankfully stepped in and handled the situation with professionalism and kindness. I asked for $40 in gas and 2 super lotto quick picks and 1 mega million. I thought the mega million was $3, so when I was told it was $2, I said I'd like 3 super lotto quick picks and one mega. I didn't think that was so confusing or too much to ask for. The cashier immediately seemed confused about how to process the transaction and became increasingly frustrated while trying to use the register. I repeated myself and said $40 in gas and $5 in lotto. I put down $45 in cash on the table. Then she start saying, "she asked for 2 and now she wants 3." Then she starts pressing all these buttons and says, "$45 In lotto tickets??" Good thing Aaron was there and he saw the whole thing. He heard me when I asked for the tickets and was helping get the tickets.  Aaron noticed what was happening and stepped in to help. He was patient, calm, and respectful, and quickly resolved what was actually a very simple transaction. He even made a lighthearted comment when handing me the tickets, saying "it only takes five dollars to be a millionaire," which brought a smile after an awkward interaction. What was most disappointing happened as I was leaving. I overheard the cashier say "she's so annoying," referring to me. I had been polite the entire time and was simply waiting to complete a basic purchase. I remained quiet as I saw her losing her sh*t.  It's concerning when a customer is spoken about like that within earshot. Aaron demonstrated exactly what good customer service looks like, but the attitude and lack of professionalism from the other employee left a very negative impression. Safeway management should recognize Aaron for his professionalism and also address the behavior I experienced from this employee.

The fresh produce section looks good. This store has never been crowded nor noisy during my visits. Shelves are well organized. Clean floors. Visually this Raley's is more pleasing than the Safeway. The aisles are less cluttered than Safeway. Better feng shui. I've tried several deli items here. The fried chicken is not as satisfyingly crunchy nor as greasy as the Safeway version. The fresh sushi here also does not comparatively ring my bell as loud. The employees are friendly and helpful. More so than the average Safeway employee. Prices are no different than Safeway. Which means the prices are lower than Whole Foods, Nugget and the somewhat dismal Amazon Fresh market over by the Roseville Costco. HHHhhhmmmmm... Maybe I should shop ay this Raley's more often.
