This place is the best for all packing needs! The prices are comparable to standard packing material prices, and they allow to you return any extra unused supplies or materials for full refund. The owner is amazing and offers great service too! He tells you how many boxes you'll need given the size of your move and types of items, he loads up your car for you, and he even loaded the tape dispenser for us. There are boxes here for every possible need too, including tv boxes, mirror boxes, foam slips/inserts for plate ware, literally any type of packing need you could think of. I remember the owner helped me out with the weirdest shape of an office chair that couldn't be dissembled and I needed to return it due to malfunction. Back in December I was prepping to ship out some coloring books I self-published and I was concerned that they would be bent in the mail. Wow... came here based on the YELP reviews and honestly, this store was great! The hubby and I were looking for a convenient one-stop-shop to stock up on items needed for a move. Now I hate moving... its the absolute worst!! Simply because... I hoard too many things.. But coming to this store really made it easier.. The owner himself asks you how many rooms you have to estimate the number of boxes youll need.. and not only that, this guy is honestly, the NICEST MAN EVER. He is very warm and personable and genuinely wants to help you out. Best of all, if you don't use all the boxes you purchase, you can easily return the spares for a complete refund. But in our case, we used every single box and even had to return a second time to stock up! His prices are very reasonable but bottom line, this man knows customer service. Wow, wow, wow! If you are moving in L.A., do not look any further!!! This place and the owner, Jacob, is incredible! The prices are way lower than anywhere else, and beat the moving company's prices on boxes by 25% on average! When you are moving a 3-bedroom house, that adds up! Aside from boxes, they have bubble wrap, paper, scissors, tape, whatever you need. Best of all, even if you have no idea how many boxes you may need, Jacob will help you out! His estimate for the number of boxes we needed was spot on -- plus he reassured us that if there were extra boxes we did not use in the end, he will just buy them back at the same price! Aside from being the best in the business, Jacob is kind, caring and will make your move sooo much less stressful. He carried everything to my car and beautifully loaded it in. What a gentleman! JACOB IS AMAZING!!! I came in here because I needed boxes ASAP for a last minute move. I read some decent reviews - but honestly had no other option! But the moment I walked in, I knew I had made the right choice. Jacob was friendly, and he talked to me about my move, what I was moving... and made recommendations on what boxes would be best and any other supplies such as packing tape, bubble wrap, etc. He did not try to oversell me on crap I didnt need... but made GENIUNE, HONEST recommendations. AND, whatever boxes you dont use, you can return! Lastly, he helps you load the boxes into your car. The prices are VERY reasonable. Amazingly warm, calm, friendly, efficient, an excellent communicator, eager to please, true to his word, in short, a man of integrity (a rarity, it seems, these days). I called him and the very next day he delivered the boxes and packing materials that we requested (he helped me decide what to order), he even came back the next day to supplement what we needed and then came back a few days later when we were finished (with a high end moving job in the W. Hollywood Hills) and took away the materials we hadn't used and processed our credit within 24 hours. I only wish that more businesses ran with the efficiency and integrity of this company!!! You can buy boxes anywhere, but at Save-On-Boxes you also get Jacob, and he knows the packing, moving, and shipping business. He will tell you what you need and what you don't. If you buy the wrong sizes, they will exchange. We recently did a FedEx shipping of a large duffle bag suitcase. When Jacob saw it, he said that it would be better to pack the duffle in a box, and he proceeded to pack the duffle in a box for us. I bought 40 boxes for a move. The owner told me at the time of purchase that I could return any boxes that are not used for the same price purchased with proof of receipt. Later, I was fortunate enough to come across a bunch of free boxes elsewhere so I tried to return the 40 boxes to the store. At that time, the owner told me that he'd accept only 1/2 of the boxes back. The other option was a 30% restocking fee. I decided to go with the former option, and he reloaded my car with the 20 boxes. However, upon arriving home, I discovered he only loaded 15 boxes, not 20. Not worth going back to fight for those 5 boxes, but I'm disappointed with my experience and will not be returning. I agree that the owner is very hard working and I appreciate him loading up my car for me. If it's a simple purchase transaction, then fine, you shouldn't have any problems. But if you need to return anything, just be aware of the verbal store policy. read more
