I was discriminated against for employment so as far as working here you can forget about it. Was told in a generic e-mail that they don't have a position for me yet there are "now hiring" for all shifts everywhere around the store--please I'm not an idiot. Thankfully, Goodwill gave me a chance and I will always support their mission to NOT discriminate and to help those in need for training and the opportunity for employment especially those with disabilities. And as other reviewers have noted their prices are way over priced for a thrift store and will be taking my money for clothes elsewhere--the only thing good there is 1/2 off jewelry at times when it is the right "colors" sale--it is unfortunate that Goodwill stopped selling jewelry but their prices and mission for the community far exceeds any Savers location read more

Yes, I'm a fan. I like the cleanliness and its not usually crowded. I am a lover of high end handbags, especially Coaches. I have bought a couple that were in decent condition, but waaayyyy overpriced in relationship to other stores. I would not have bought if I didn't have the 30% off coupons at that time. On that note, I was in there last week and they had two handbags in the glass case. One was a fake Louis Vuitton and I forgot what the other was. The LV was priced at $199. I asked to see it and I told them it was a fake and they shouldn't price it like that because that is dishonest. There wasn't even a fake serial number in there. They didn't care. A couple of days later it was gone and so was the other purse. A woman told me they sold. So, if you're in the market for a bargain on a designer purse, be aware especially if its a Louis Vuitton or a Coach. Chances are it is fake. The same day, they had a Coach with a number in it, but it was also a fake... The clothes are usually overpriced too compared to other stores, but I usually have a coupon that will bring it down to a reasonable price. read more

Nice big resale shop. Found clothes, dishes and a beautiful serving bowl. Having clean plentiful changing rooms a plus. Pleasant helpful staff. Puzzle still with shrink wrap on. Love the way they display the pants sideways so you can see the tags easily. read more

I just left this location and am completely SICKENED at how overpriced they are. I am a professional thrifter who will spend decent money to get a good item cheaper than retail. This place was selling used up, outdated forever 21 dresses for $12.99-my daughter bought the same exact dress for less than $5 at the actual forever 21 store! EVERYTHING is way overpriced-furniture deals will not be found here. A plain wooden chair that sells for $14.99 new at store is $19.99 used and banged up here. I don't care if things are sorted, you still have to look through everything to find anything good and I can guarantee it will be overpriced for thrift store items at this company. I was shocked to hear the vulgar language the employee used to refer to me and my sister. I understand we stayed 10 minutes after they closed but that is no reason to be cussing about paying customers. I have been here a few times and this is the first time this happens to me here. I'm usually not one to go on rants but I downloaded the yelp app just so that I could express my dissatisfaction with this experience. As my younger sister and I were finishing up in the fitting rooms we could hear the sales lady say "seriously? These f*****g wh***s it's passed closing, like come on people. These b*****s I swear! Are you f*****g kidding me!" And she continued to yell these things knowing perfectly well we could hear her. My sister in the fitting room next to me even texted me she was scared from how infuriated the woman sounded. We grabbed our things, payed (all the meanwhile feeling very uncomfortable) and left. We then still saw the woman staring at us from the door while we were in our car. I've worked in the customer service industry and if my boss heard me talk to or even about a customer like that, even if it was because they've stayed passed closing, I would have been fired on the spot (as a server parties stayed up to hours after closing). This is unacceptable that an employee would act like this. So hey lady if you hate your job that much than quit and if you were having a hard day for whatever reason it's still no excuse to take it out on the customers. Just saying, savers should better consider who they want working for them. read more

So I stopped in the other day to this place (formerly Value City store) as I saw it right behind the new Goodwill in Bloomingdale. Don't waste your time - this place has total JUNK! It reminds me of the days going to the moldy thrift shops back in Chicago such as Village Thrift Shop and Salvation Army. The prices are not worth it either and they are indeed much higher than Goodwill, no thank-you! Will never go back there for anything again. read more

Admittedly my first time at Savers I browsed the kitchen goods, knick-knacks, and then spent about an hour rifling through their YA books. I ended up getting 14 books for $12 - pretty solid considering I have a tough time finding lower-level (yet not babyish) books that have Scholastic quizzes. Score! read more

Great atmosphere, clothes are organized by size and category makes it easier to shop, it's a great place to hang out with friends and find secret gems, found a lightsaber and decently priced tee shirts plus a 15 dollar book shelf I was happy with my visit I recommend this thrift store to all the second hand lovers out there read more

I would like to give less than one star.I loved savers.its a fantastic place to shop and generally cleaner than goodwill.But my god the employee s here have broken out of hell.There is no service and absolutely no general manners.There is not one time I have been in where the cashier's are anything but rude.This is the reason that savers is going out of business and it's a crying shame. read more

Love this savers! It's a big scavenger hunt in there which is why I love thrifting. Tons of clothes to look through, sorted by color AND by size which is a plus. Only thing is there is no public restroom that I saw when I had to pee so I had to run over to TJ Maxx next door but otherwise I love this place read more

I have gotten a few large bargains from the Carol Stream Savers. They have a huge selection and for the most part they are always a clean store. One of the cleaner thrift stores in the area. read more

I have been coming to Savers store in Carol Stream for a few years now & have always enjoyed the bargains I would find but the last two times I went there the new manager I believe who must approve any returns would not accept my return of several pairs of shoes I bought & said she believed the tags had been tampered with & made me feel like a person who is trying to return shoes other than what we're originally purchased (as if I were a criminal or a teenager or something) very embarrassing & demeaned!! I'm a senior & would not ever do something like that for a few dollars!!! I told her that in one of the instances when I went to pull the label off to wear the shoes the plastic of the shoe ripped or tore off & thus why I don't want anymore & in another case I took sticker off & then walked around house to check the comfort & realized they hurt & so put the sticker back on & on the third pair I wore it with the sticker still on & therefore the sticker looked like it had been tampered with from sweat in plastic! I never wore it out of house & it was a used shoe to begin with & she tells me it looked used, well duh!! I have given so much business over the years & also have given many donations to this store & now that 5 other Savers stores have closed down, there aren't any stores close left to go to but I doubt I will go back again to that store as long as Ashley is still working there! You would think she would try to keep customers & be able to distinguish good customers from delinquent ones, she told me sorry those are the rules after I told her I would report this since this was the second time it happened but the rules are made as rules usually are, & she was too immature to realize that with all I spend at this store I am certainly not going to try to squelch them out of a few dollars by returning shoes I didn't buy there! Especially because I mostly go on senior day & therefor the shoes I return I'm only going to get back about 3 or 4 dollars for!! Such a shame, really enjoyed my shopping experiences there & finding a treasure or two every so often but I won't go back there now to be treated like she treated me! Very embarrassing! read more

Love this store! I always find cute tops here for a great price! We've purchased a bread maker for $10 and it works great! On Mondays you get 25% so don't forget your savers card! I brought a few bags of clothes to donate and got a 15% off coupon! This is definitely one of my favorite thrift shops and I would recommend it to my friends. read more
