Visited Savona last eve, 8/5/2021, with friends. Beyond disappointing! The Dover Sole "Special" was $59, came out DRY, and the sauce accompanying the dish had PEAS instead of Capers? Just Shoot Me I attended a small group Pharma affair here tonight and can promise you I will never go back. Honestly, you couldn't pay me to do so, and I had to post this right away I was so pissed off! The food was mediocre at best, the arugula bed under my Bronzino was filled with so much sand and small rocks I had to stop eating it for fear of breaking teeth. But the real problem is the management and their failure to intelligently guide the wait staff on how to maintain flow and pace of a meal with a group of 14. We were on a timeline that went a full hour over and most left with no coffee or dessert. Terribly long delays between each stage of the meal, 45 minutes between clearing dinner plates and carrying out desserts which had been ordered 2 hours prior, no coffee 20 minutes after coffee orders were taken, wine that went unfilled for most of the dinner. I left without dessert, confused wait staff wondering why 90% of my group peeled away out of frustration. Oh, and then the 25 minute line after all of that to get my damned car back from the valets, who couldn't find one attendee's car. Fire the chef, the manager, the wait staff, and the valets and start all over: this place used to be good, (food, service, and all) but now it is a painful experience. Savona has a fantastic restaurant, and a more casual bar/restaurant called Bar Savona. I have been to the restaurant several times, and am a big fan. I have not yet been to Bar Savona. The restaurant offers good choices, reasonable portions, and an outstanding wine list. Following dinner, there is an excellent cheese trolley that comes table-side, and/or desserts. Savona offers a wine cellar dining room for groups up to 12-16 people. It's a lovely space and very distinctive. During warmer months, the terrace outside of the bar area is open for seating, drinking and dining. read more

Incredible experience. My wife and I went here. I've never seen better service at a restaurant. Everything was impeccable. From the valet to the hostess to the waitres. Food was awesome. Using four metrics of ambiance, service, quality of food and value of the dinner. 3-4-3-3 Our server did his best on the Dover Sole but they should not prepare the fish for you tableside. Fish gets cold fast. And it was. Someone else in our party had the same dish which was hot and not prepared tableside. $65.00 for cold Sole is a no no. My breaded veal was dry and nothing to rave about. The restaurant tries to be something it's not. An overpriced, average meal. Ah. I did mention I had to ask for a cup b of coffee twice? They'll get busy after 6pm. The service can't handle a full house. I'm being kind with the 3 stars. Go to Center City or Central Bucks County. read more

I had a great experience at Savona. We were celebrating a special occasion, and they gave us a great table. Servers were polite to not only us, but each other - very refreshing to see in the service industry. My party of 6 all got something different and every one of us loved our meal. Overall a charming place with very friendly service (from valet staff to owner), good food, inventive cocktails, and extensive wine list. They'll even comp you a full bottle of wine if you can guess the "mystery" glass of the night chosen by the sommelier. There are two distinct seating areas (bar and main dining room) which both have their benefits and drawbacks. We ate in the bar area which was upbeat and had a direct view of the kitchen frenzy. It was a little loud, dim and breezy, but fun. The dinning room has modern furniture, warmer lighting and an overall cozier vibe. Next time I'd try sitting there for a more relaxed dining experience. read more

Savona use to be a great place to go. Now the portions belong on a kid menu and the management is less than receptive in hearing any criticism. This girl name Valerie who claimed to be the GM requested for me to take a picture of my kid size meal so she can tell the chef who did not believe me. She is rude with no customer service skills and needs to manage an Olive Garden. I will be calling the owner. He needs to upgrade his management team! read more

On Sunday afternoon, I attended a bachelorette party in the breezy outdoor dining area of this lovely restaurant. Softly draped white material formed a roof and sides to the space while tables were set well apart from each other and had room for 4 or 6 guests. The waiters were very attentive and brought us beverages while we waited for the group to gather. Then we enjoyed a delicious salad with a light dressing. The menu included a choice of salmon or chicken for the meal. I chose salmon and received a generous portion on a bed of rice and veggies. It was cooked just right.... tender and delicious. We finished with a dessert that included a creamy chocolate cake and a mango fruit tart ... both were yummy. It was a wonderful day and I was very impressed by the quality of the food being served to about 25 people at one time. I'm looking forward to returning some time soon. read more

Some of my friends love Savona but I have eaten there 3 - 4 times over the last 10 years or so and have never been impressed. Today was no different. I got the Eggplant Napoletana. It looked very nice and I did appreciate the fact that the layers of eggplant were nice and thin and while it was fairly good I was unable to eat the bottom layer or 2 as well as one end as they were burnt. We also ordered the Golden Fried Artichokes which had a decent flavor but were greasy. My wife's BLT was tasty but the ratio of BLT to bread was way off. I think next time someone wants to meet me a Savona, I'll pass. read more

Savona- KOP.  Here goes one of my more detailed reviews so buckle up (or keep scrolling...)  One of my most solid-splurge-worthy places. We came here on an extremely windy and chilly day and still were warm enough to be able to take our jackets off.  They have a massive, heated tent with very spaced out tables with a big open side....if you are being covid-cautious but still want to feel like you are fine dining and want some protection from the elements then this is an excellent choice. The generators are quite noisy.....it would have been nice if they had some nice relaxing music to add to the ambiance so you didn't just have to hear generators.  Their tent feels very upscale with the plants, lighting and billowy silks on top. They also have extremely comfortable chairs and sofas in the tents to sit on. We ordered the  wood-fired octopus, salmon tartare, braised short ribs, plain pasta with butter, duck with roasted Cauliflower, French Green Lentils, Cherry Jus, drinks and desserts. The octopus was cooked and flavored perfectly... which is a very tricky dish to get the perfect texture , although the accompanying greens on the dish were way over-peppered (which I mentioned to our server, she replied she would "let the chef know" without offering to fix it or send it back which I found a bit odd. The Salmon tartare with avocado-lime cream sauce on top... I think the sauce overpowered the salmon but it was still very tasty.  The duck was just spectacular... it also came with mashed potatoes which were almost cold, but still delicious. They have an outstanding wine and cocktail program here.  The whiskey sour was crafted to perfection.... not too strong.   I can't remember the exact white wine I got, but it was whatever the server recommended with the duck and also paired perfectly. For dessert we got the mango sorbet, cheesecake brownie and Blood Orange Creamsicle Cake with Milk Chocolate Hazelnut Crunch.  I thought it would have a lot more chocolate flavor in it so I was kind of disappointed by this.  The mango sorbet was outstanding in it's simplicity and bold mango flavor. They make their own ice creams and gelatos daily. Service was friendly, prompt and attentive,.... it was a very slow Saturday for them and for most of the time we were the only people in the tent, but for covid-reasons that suited us just fine. For Open Table,  should I bother checking off if it's a special occasion in the booking form?  It's been a few times now that whatever special occasion I put it on was completely unacknowledged later.  I am guessing I should just assume it doesn't get noticed on the booking form and make a point to point this out in person. Despite some of my minor nitpicking, this is still one of my favorite fine-dining places and would happily go back! A very memorable and impressive meal! read more

I booked a table for an early Sunday dinner. My last experience had not been a success but boy was I impressed this time around! The service was impeccable - attentive but not intrusive, and refined. The food was superb: we enjoyed plates across the menu, from pizza margarita, tuna tartar, grille halibut, saffron fettuccine with clams and grilled octopus. We like sharing our plates and at the end everyone was unanimous that the food was excellent across the board. We also enjoyed desert and recommend the clafoutis and the pistachio baklava sandwich. The only plates we did not enjoy were the 2 started we ordered (fritto misto and fried artichokes) which we though were uninspiring and heavy. To accompany ll of this we ordered a bottle off their extensive fine (and expensive) wine menu. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Savona! read more

Savona has revamped their overall program. Once a high end Luxury restaurant has turned into a bustling bistro hybrid. They offer a bistro nibbles, brick oven pizza, old favorite entrées and a grilled fish and meat selection. There is something for everyone at Savona. The prices are much better too. I personally liked the change but my husband found the atmosphere to be frenetic. The wait staff was friendly although seemed scattered. We had several different servers none which you knew what kind of wine they offered,or beer on menu and it took forever to get our first drink. Overall the food plates were mixed. I really enjoyed the brick chicken but was disappointed that it was not served whole as it was in the past. Because it was broken down it lost some of its flair and was not as moist (sorry for wording) my dinner partner was raving about her grilled shrimp. The fried artichokes lacked luster, needed more seasoning but with a squeeze of lemon and some salt were spruced up. I would order them again. The Burrata was just ok but cold and pre-plated on the grilled sour Dough bread soggy and was sad and inedible. Two people at the table had the Dover sole special. The fish arrived re-plated with a sauce served separately by one of the waitstaff. The fish was delicious although the sauce was so decadent it became overwhelming towards the end of the meal. We were barely offered desserts, I saw the gorgeous cheese tray in the background but was never offered any cheese. That was a mistake because I think we would have indulged in some yummy after dinner cheese. I almost felt like they wanted to turn over the table. Over all the Restaurant was jampacked with happy customers and I look forward to trying it again soon. I personally love the new approachable atmosphere and would try it again on another night. I'd like to try the restaurant again perhaps on a weeknight when it's not so hectic. read more

I'm a little bit surprised that the reviews are so low for this restaurant. My wife and I celebrated our anniversary at Savona last night* and had a truly fantastic meal. It wasn't perfect, but it was pretty darn close: (*I started this review over a month ago, so it wasn't actually last night. I hope you can forgive me!) ATMOSPHERE AND SERVICE - Clean and simple decor and comfortable seating. We dined in a smaller upstairs room that was a little quiet at first but became more lively later in the evening. I could have done without the loud, obnoxious Trump supporter regaling his trophy wife with comments on "Little Marco," but that's hardly the management's fault. - Zero complaints on the service, which was professional and hospitable. FOOD We started with: - A selection of two cheeses and a cured meat. I can't recall exactly what we had, but all of our selections were exactly as described by the server and beautifully plated. - Five-second tuna. A fantastic appetizer-- each bite was carefully constructed and each component was well-chosen. We were very pleased with this selection. For entrees we had: - Veal Milanese. I've never had this before, which has officially become my greatest regret in life. I feel like I'm going to start ordering this whenever I see it but that I'll never try a version that was quite as good as this one. This was perfectly cooked, perfectly assembled, and perfectly plated. It was simply a perfect dish. - Rack of lamb. My wife ordered this, and she loved it. A simple dish prepared perfectly. For dessert we had.... Well, actually, I don't remember. I do remember that it was tasty, but not earthshaking in any sense. This was just a really fantastic meal. We'll be back again the next time we have a special occasion to celebrate. UPDATE: We went back for our next special occasion and now I understand why the rating is what it is: - five-second tuna and veal Milanese were still great - we ordered soppressatta and I'm almost certain we got prosciutto -we ordered a goat cheese and I'm almost certain we got a sheep's cheese. I'm 100% certain that whatever cheese we got was flavorless and bland. - My wife ordered a glass of wine that was half sediment. - desserts were bad. The pumpkin tart was edible. The flourless brownie was not. Both were ludicrously overpriced. - When I made the reservation, they asked if we were celebrating a special occasion. I told them that it was our 10th anniversary. They said they'd make a note. I guess it wasn't passed along, since no one did anything or said anything. For the prices they're charging they need to do better. read more

Paige, our waitress, lied repeatedly to my face. I specifically selected this restaurant for our eleventh anniversary dinner for the Dover Sole which is not a standard menu item but a "nightly special". The waitress identifies the specials and does not mention Dover Sole. I ask why Dover Sole wasn't identified as an option and her response was that it is a dish that you should reserve in advance because they often run out. Our reservation was 6pm? As we sit in the upstairs dining "cave" completely by ourselves, I can only hear the open kitchen and the repeated screams of "Fire a Dover Sole" as I eat my consolation Branzino, which was still delicious. But it gets worse, a table of 10 enters the cave and a different waiter excitedly describes in detail the nightly special of Dover Sole. I pull Paige aside and ask why we were not offered the Dover Sole, her response was that she was told there were no more left (@ 6pm?) and perhaps that table ordered it in advance but that she would gladly follow up with the kitchen to find out why there was confusion. She returns with her manager's business card with a quick handwritten note: Free Appetizer, next time. Finally she admits that she omitted to mention the nightly special by mistake. No, really? I understand innocent mistakes. I do NOT understand customer service practices that condone repeatedly making the diner feel stupid and unimportant during the course of a $200+ dinner. To top it off, the restaurant reported our Open Table reservation as a No Show mark against my account BEFORE I could even write a review. I think that last action speaks volumes to the Savona culture of self preservation at the expense of the paying customer. Post note: we spent the weekend sharing our experience with others. I was floored that no one disagreed with us and all had their own horrible stories to share. Good riddance to a neighborhood nuisance. read more

We tried to go to several other brunch spots but was a 45 minute to an hour wait but got right into Savona now I know why. Smoked salmon Benedict was over taken bt cream cheese and a steak knife could not even cut the English muffin. My husband frittata was over cooked and dry. Potato on both dish dry and old. Sevice was ok. We keep on trying this place in hopes it gets better because it's in such a great location. read more

I was getting tired of the Main Line restaurant scene, and with tentative weather causing me not wanting to drive into the city, a spark lit inside my exhausted brain when a friend called me an arrogant bastard, and I said "ahhhhh, the 22oz. Arrogant Bastard sounds wonderful, let's go back to the oft forgotten Savona". It was early in the evening, and getting old is becoming synonymous with eating early, so we thought without a reservation on a Saturday we could sit at the bar. Well low and behold they had tables available on the beautifully furnished patio at that hour, probably awaiting the later younger crowd. This is a 5 star patio, so get comfortable and enjoy the evening air. Dinner again was consistent and consistently very very good. I started with the Tuscan Bean Soup. Rich and full of scrumptious flavor, I wish I skipped my entree and went right to dessert. The entree I chose was the swordfish, served with Roma beans, in a sauce vierge. The swordfish was a small, perfectly medium cooked fish atop the under cooked, slightly tough to chew green beans (and I love my veggies crisp) but the flavors, even with the sauce, although simple and anticipated simple, were just not excellent this time. My friend had a terrific beet salad, full of yummy-ness, and a great size. And for the entree she had the brick chicken, 5 star all the way (see my old review below for a description). Dessert was a lovely 4 star carrot cake, with diced pineapple and small dollops of a semifreddo. Service is attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. The valet attendants are very kind to the cars, just a tad short of wearing white glove treatment. I just hope I don't need to be called names to remember that Savona is a great go-to place, no matter whether you are early, want to sit at the bar, or plan in advance with reservations. read more

Savona...where have you been my whole life? I knew something special awaited us when we showed up on Tuesday night...late...and the place was packed. Tuesday night after the holidays...packed? Yep. Savona continues to be an upscale, white tablecloth Italian restaurant that is one of the landmarks on the Main Line, with an emphasis on Abruzzese cuisine. However, Savona is now two concepts in one. In addition to the aforementioned fine dining room, there is also "Bar Savona," which is more of a bistro. We ate in the latter, and this review is limited to Bar Savona. Its been years since I've been there, and the place was completely remodeled about three years ago. What is now even more compelling about Savona is this upscale bar/bistro they've set up, with a separate menu that brings Osteria to the neighborhood and, perhaps, exceeds it. We started off with the fried artichoke hearts. Delicious. The second appetizer was the Marco Castro, a margherita pizza with copius amounts of fresh arugula, red onion, and pancetta. Let's now expand the list to 1002 good uses for bacon. Superb. Served with thin crust and fresh ingredients, you will be hard pressed to find a better gourmet pizza. Our dinner entrees were the shrimp fra diabolo, which was served with five jumbo shrimp and homemade pappardelle. While my lady would've preferred it spicier, it was a solid dish. My entree was the pappardelle bolognese, also served with homemade pasta (as is all their pasta) in a meaty bolognese sauce. This was the best presentation of this classic Abruzzese dish I've ever had. If you are venturing to Bar Savona, as you really should, be aware that you will need reservations most nights. Do not even for one second think you will get in on a Thursday, Friday, or Saturday night without one. Not even a made man wearing a silk suite with black shirt and tie flouting $100 tips to the hostess will get you in. There is mandatory valet parking as the on site lot is small. While a bistro concept, it is not inexpensive, but the dishes were all fantastic and, frankly, this may be the best restaurant I've eaten in and certainly matches Sola for nearby dining. read more

I went for dinner one evening expecting a great meal. The service was excellent and the wine list extensive. However, the food was mostly a disappointment, particularly so due to the high price which goes with the expectation of great food. Very low on taste and high on price. I had the filet of sole. It was acceptable but not taste bursting. The combination of so-so food and a non-enticing desert menu prompted us to end the meal without desert. The pricing at Savona ($250 for the meal for two) came with great expectations, yet they delivered a equally great disappointment. read more

This year for our two year wedding anniversary, I had a hard time deciding where to take my wife. We had already done a bunch of the big time Center City restaurants and I wanted to do something different. Different ended up letting my friends on Facebook decide where we were going to go. I wasn't thrilled with a lot of the suggestions until one friend said Savona. I know Savona! It's about 15 minutes away from us and we had never been there and I had heard nothing but good things about it. I immediately looked at the BarSavona menu and decided this is where we were going. My five star rating says it all. This place really is as good as it gets. We arrived at the restaurant about twenty minutes early, but were seated right away. The host took us upstairs and sat us down right next to the wine room where we saw wines all the way back from 1961. On the wine note, we were both extremely impressed with the wine sommelier. Besides the fact that he was actually French, he was knowledgeable and very friendly. After dinner, he actually treated us to some champagne to celebrate out anniversary which was a really nice gesture. As far as our wine selection, we ended up getting a 2010 Kaiken Malbec that was outstanding. It was fruity and quite drinkable so be warned. The food was just as good as the wine. For appetizers we both got soups; for myself the bisnona minestra and for my wife the tuscan white bean. Usually when you rode soup at a restaurant these days, you get a small portion. Both soups could have been meals themselves. Huge portions that were both fantastic that made me happy that there was a bit of a wait between courses. For Dinner, I ordered one of the two steak specials which was a hanger stake with palenta and baby carrots in a red wine veal reduction. This dish was perfectly cooked medium rare and was just a perfectly balanced dish. My wife ordered the market fish which was a Fluke that night. It came with broccoli rabe and a lemon caper sauce. This dish was equally just as good. For dessert we had a chocolate-hazelnut soufflé which was absolutely to die for. It was cooked perfectly and the taste was just delightful. Another added touch was the Happy Anniversary written in chocolate on the plate. I have nothing but good things to say about this place. Our waitress was amazing and was quick to make sure we had everything we needed. Obviously my wife and I will be returning to Savona. read more

We were taken here by friends of ours who live just a few miles away from the Merion restaurant, which is housed in a very lovely Victorian style home with beautiful and more contemporary furnishings inside. This establishment is long on charm but just a touch short on cuisine...which is why I hesitated and couldn't award four stars. But it is obvious from both the service and the food, that the chef and his staff are trying hard. Overall, we had a wonderful experience here and would return to give it another go. The wine and cocktail list is very nice and there are plenty of options for all tastes. We enjoyed our glasses of rose while our servers described a few specials. I opted for the hamachi crudo with blueberry-lime composta. My husband's charred octopus was spectacular but sadly, I cannot say the same of my appetizer. The small pieces of hamachi were room temperature and on a hot end of summer evening, one would think the raw fish would be served chilled. To me this was a huge misstep since raw fish should be served cool to the touch and with some acid. The lime citrus flavor was obscured by what I can describe only as the filling you might find in a blueberry pie. It was thick and sweet and just didn't pair very well with the hamachi. That said, the Bronzino entree made up for the poorly executed appetizer. It was filleted and cooked to perfection..moist and flakey. And the peppers and onions that accompanied it were very tasty. They accommodated my request for a side order of broccoli rabe which was fine. The duck entree over succotash seemed to be a big hit with my hubby. Dessert was really the star here. We ordered the twice baked carrot cake with cream cheese frosting flavor gelato topped with a delectable caramel sauce. The cake was really a loaf of carrot cake..incredibly moist. What was spectacular was the absence of frosting. The gelato that accompanied the cake was the perfect addition to the cake and the sweetness and tartness cream cheese frozen dessert really paired perfectly. Our friends had a sampling of the gelato and the flavors were divine. Even the hot coffee was very good. The front of the restaurant features a trendy bar scene and a lighter menu. There is seating on the patio which is a plus. The service is very professional even if the experience of their young staff shows a little. All in all, a fine dining experience in a cute setting. I would love to return and try some other menu items. read more

Took the ole ball and chain here for dinner a few months ago.....EXCELLENT! Food was off the charts good, we had a one-way ticket to flavor town. Upscale dining, minus the "Main Line" pretentiousness. Although we did feel a little out of place at the bar, but the bartenders and staff were cool and made sure we had a pre-dinner cocktail despite the amount of people jammed into the bar :) To start I had the mozzarella di bufala appetizer....fantastic. Very tasty, especially with the pesto sauce on the side! She had (I think) the Caesar salad, and she thought it was excellent. I had the braised short rib, she had the veal milanese with arugula salad. The veal was by far the most exceptional plate you will order. Don't get me wrong my short rib was fantastic, but the veal was out of this world. Can't remember if we got dessert or not, so I can't comment on that....but I'm sure it's incredible. The wine list is a major plus here. Top quality wine, plus they recommend the pairings on the menu....major plus to those of a novice wine drinking status...cough...me....cough. FYI - VALET PARKING ONLY. I didn't know that going in. Not a problem at all, just a heads up. The valets were pretty cool dudes....probably b/c they were closer to my age versus their usual "parental aged" customers. LOL *My only caveat was that we ordered a bottle of wine for the table, and they kept it in a separate location while we ate (no biggie). However, we were told by the end of the dinner that we had drank it all. Not that this was to any surprise, it just didn't feel like we had that many glasses of wine so that rubbed me the wrong way. read more

Over time, we have enjoyed dozens of great meals at Savona. We would go on Saturday night, sit at the bar, enjoy food from both menus and get a fantastic bottle of wine. The last 2 times have been horrible. I mean horrible. What happened? The bartenders last night were more interested in talking with each other than engaging with us. Day old bread, (make croutons for God's sake, don't serve it!) octopus tentacles that were burnt and tasteless. Not one meaty piece on the dish. The lobster dish was sitting under the warming light for much too long. A crust had begun to settle around the edges. Each dish taken away half eaten and no one asked why and clearly no one cared! What a shame, it was perfect for us, a mile from home. Not going back! read more

Had a delicious dinner here at Savona. I really enjoyed dining in a historic building. The bathrooms located downstairs still have the original stone and brick from 200+ years ago. Food was very good. Had the oysters, accompanied by a nice vinaigrette. Had the beat salad and the NY strip. All were presented well. Service was on point and they were very attentive. We had to wait for a table so we sat at the bar and chatted with the bartender (and mix-master) "Papi," who's a character and makes great drinks. Both drinks we ordered were perfect, and Papi's showmanship was greatly appreciated. After we were seated, we were attended very well by a waiter and a wine specialist. Although the menu is a little short (compared to the wine list, which was extravagant), it seems that it changes often. Both meals we ordered were on the spot and the serving was good. We thoroughly enjoyed our dessert and evening, and will continue to go here (budget permitting) for special occasions. They do have special events, like wine tastings and mixed drinks specials throughout the week that we're going to attend. My boss's boss was coming to town so I booked us at Savona. All up, a really fine dining experience, great room, great service, pretty good food. Ambitious, classy, elegant. This was my third attempt to get to Savona. On each of the other two occasions, the traffic was so bad from Malvern to Conshy that we just gave up. So we left extra early and were still 15 minutes late! What a beautiful place! I remember the Picket Post c1978 and the folks at Savona have done a fabulous job creating a destination restaurant. The bar was cute and intimate. The crowd was obviously well heeled, dressed in traditional Main Line preppie style. Folks were dining al fresco on the small patio. We were greeted immediately and made to feel at home, even though we were late. Apps - I had the Sweetbreads, served with a three minute egg, greens and mushrooms. Light and crispy, nicely prepared, a tad salty. My dining companions had the salmon carpaccio and lobster salad. All the plates were beautifully composed, and the lobster salad was spectacular. Entrees - Both my companions had the plancha seared striped bass and scrupulously cleaned their plates. I had Dayboat Scallops with pancetta and eggplant. I ate about half. The scallops were overdone. I wasn't sure if the kitchen was trying to evoke the essence of the sea, but every component of the dish, little scallop boats, frothy eggplant waves, pancetta sun setting, reinforced the tide of salinity that began with my sweetbreads. Dessert was a spectacularly good baked apple wrapped in pastry and topped with icecream and a delicate, beautiful, sugar leaf. Great coffee (La Columbe?). We did not see the cheese trolley, but will look for it next trip. Wine list was really good. We had a nice bottle of Bergstrom PN - yeah I love my Oregon wines. Ok beer list. Pedestrian martini, no onions avaliable :-(. We all enjoyed the amuse bouche before each course. So, if you are out to impress, or to have a really world class dining experience, Savona is as good as I've seen along the Main Line, especially West Conshohoken. read more

This place is one of the best brunches I ever had. The waiters were sooo nice, and the food is just excellent. I usually don't like pancakes, but the pancakes here are just delicious!!! The eggs Benedict was amazing, it just beyond words. read more

I wanted to love this place. Unfortunately the entire experience felt similar to the old Citicard commercial (long wait to get a reservation, great atmosphere, but elf food portions). I admit the service was exceptional...every request was granted with a smile and the ambience was warm. The wine list is extensive, but the menu is limited. When the entrees arrived, we were stunned. While plated beautifully, portions were tiny and the taste was only all right. A majority of our party left the table still hungry. Given the price for Savona, I'd sum up the experience as disappointing. read more

We unexpectedly planned brunch at Savona today! The unexpected surprise was the jazz band playing for a few hours. The food is AMAZING - great options and flavors. The drinks, inclusive of sparkling wine bottle options were terrific ($50 - $200), as well as the service. Make the extra effort to come to Savona on Sunday's, and every other day of the week. If it will make you feel good about yourself to overpay for mediocre food that is served by Main Line kiddos, this is the place for you! The best thing we had were the potatoes, but I've had way better. We enjoy fine dining that is actually fine. This place is all about pretense, but I guess some people need that. P.S. Very very nice. Recently moved back to the burbs from Philly and have always wanted to try this place. It was very good. Had the octopus. Was a bit slimy for my taste but all in all not that bad. Had the duck breast as the entree and it was phenomenal. The only other duck that I had that was better was from the now defunct Avance. I would definitely get it again. My wife had the scallops and risotto. The scallops were literally cooked perfectly and the risotto they give you is sweet and filling - but may be a gut buster for some. My only cons are that it took quite some time to get my first drink and after that the two scotchs that I asked for they were out of. They did give me a higher quality one though for a cheaper price. I'd still expect a place of this caliber to have ample stock of common drinks. Service was spotty as they had a new guy and there seemed to be a lot of missed communication. The parking lot was full of high end snobby main line cars like Ferraris and Porsche's and Maseratis but don't let that dissuade you. There definitely was a LOT of pretentious conversation going on in this place that certainly made us roll our eyes a lot. I've certainly had nicer dinners in the city but for the burbs this inst a bad place. read more

So disappointed. The food was awful. I ordered the short rib which was more than half globs of fat. Had to return. My husband's swordfish was flavorless and the broccoli rabe it was served with was so bitter it was inedible. I was charged $14 for a meh glass of house cava in the smallest champagne flute you ever saw. The upstairs tables were so close together it was awkward. And loud...I could hear the expeditor shouting orders from all the way downstairs throughout the whole meal. Don't know what all the fuss is about. It was terrible. read more
