Good food and beer selection but if you ever actually want to be served in this lifetime I suggest another place. We've been going there for years, just because it's close, but the place is woefully under staffed. The service is just terrible. It's not the waitstaff's fault. It's just there aren't any. Plus every time we go we hear the same excuse that the kitchen is backed up. Heard so much about these wings, and the General Tso Siracha sauce. The sauce was excellent--the wings, not so much. Could have been a tad less pink inside, and chicken skin was soggy--not crispy. The HH is good, and only at the bar. Bartender was nice, and drinks were always flowing. read more

Food is decent as I've ordered take out from them before, however, sit down service was a bad experience. Went in the afternoon on a Sunday and it wasn't busy at the dinning area but busy on the bar side due to football games. I take it there was one busser/runner and one waitress because I waited nearly 10 minutes after i was seated, to put in an order immediately for my two young kids. Waited another 10 minutes before the waitress asked me for a drink order. I get it if it's just one person but at least acknowledge customers and tell me you'll be right with me. I ordered juice for my kids and didn't even get water. Another 5 minutes and still waiting on drinks. My kids were getting tired of waiting, as was I. I grabbed the waitresses attention and told her to forget about the drinks that never came out and to wrap up the kids food to go. She apologized but I don't think it's a family friendly place... or Atleast not a good fit for me and my family. Unfortunately, I won't be back. This was my first time coming here and I was referred by an officer I know. Walking in, was welcoming. One of the waitress brought us some menus after seeing someone in our party walk over to the bar for service. We then placed our orders. 2 shots and 2 beers. 30 minutes later after waving and trying to flag our waitress down, I had to physically yell (which I was super embarrassed to do) but finally got her attention. Mind you it was not busy!!! I seen her on her phone several times and I also seen her entertaining other customers. My beer was hot and I really just wanted to keep the shots and beers coming!!! Instead I spent 30 minutes trying to get more drinks. I didn't understand why the waitress didn't even walk by to just ask "how are you", "is everything okay here", or "did you want to place an order". By the way, while we waited there was other patrons that walked in and was seated, drinks and food was served. And we were on our first order!!!!! Lmaoooo as distasteful as the service was, we will definitely be back to comment on the food. The beers were super cold, shots were strong and amazingly yummy. I ended up ordering multiple shots after to avoid the wait . Service needs to step up to newcomers. Our money is just as green as the regulars!!!! read more

We have eaten at this restaurant numerous times. The service and food are both fine The decor is a combination of pub, Americana, rustic, sports bar. We have sat in both the booths and at the tables. The booths suffer from cracks and breaks which have been fixed with tape. I am not sure if they understand how unpleasant looking this is and how uncomfortable it makes these seats. Our service has always been fine. The food is ok not great. I think they are in need of a updated menu as it isn't very cohesive and the menus themselves could use new sleeves. As a bar it's fine. Lots of space to gather, flatscreens, and a good beer and liquor selection. I think if they fix some of the aesthetics it could pick the place up a bit more. One of the owners has the Gaul to get on here and send me an angry response!?!? Your response shows how you do not understand the food service industry sir! Refunds!?!? Complaining to the manager!?!? You shouldn't have to request a refund or complain to a manager at a half empty restaurant ! I'm glad you're "winning awards" perhaps you should try that hard for your hard paying local customers instead of competitions! It's hard to find a local bar in the suburbs that doesn't solely attract an "older" (45+) crowd. This is that bar!! It has such a friendly vibe and is totally somewhere that makes you feel at home. I have been here several times in the past few weeks and can't stop myself from coming back time after time. There is a huge menu with something for everyone. The service is great and the staff is so friendly & flexible with ordering. What a great neighborhood staple. I'm so happy this is only a few minutes from our home. If you are a foodie looking for a great fresh meal and a drink (and maybe dessert) definitely give this place a try! We love: Apps -- Corned beef latkes, Bavarian pretzels with the amazing cheese and mustard dip, mozzarella sticks, french fries, teriyaki boneless wings (with blue cheese), & wings. Entrees -- Roasted beet salad (their balsamic dressing is amazing - I asked if I could buy it), K.C. BBQ Burger, Lower East Side Burger Melt, the Reuben (pastrami), the veggie Reuben. Not sure what is up with the mediocre reviews...looks like the owners have changed their operations but I have been here 3 times in a week so far...first time being last week and its amazing! Just moved to the area and must say the options are amazing the food is great and the décor is awesome. My wife and I are so happy to have this place in the neighborhood. Some key items to try are: - The Reuben is amazing! also the fresh made chips are great - The salads all which can be served in a taco shell are great - Pretzel bread, wings, mozz sticks, and the corned beef potato pancakes are amazing! Good but not great food with excellent service and reasonable prices I recently found myself solo for lunch in Ardsley and decided to give the place a try. I sat at the bar and ordered a 1/2 salad, an Old Fashioned Toast Burger, and a Goose Island IPA. The salad was good but the burger was just OK - I was expecting a blend of strong flavors from the onions, cheese, and beef but it wasn't there. But the Texas toast was tasty. Though the Goose Island was it's normal B+ self, I was a little disappointed with the beer selection. If you have more than 3 taps at least one of them should be a serious stout or porter - specially in winter. But the bartender was great and the food came out quickly. read more

Ordered from here last night and the food was great! They were generous on the buffalo wings they weren't soggy they had the perfect crunch to sauce ratio. The celery and carrots were good too, not covered in dirt like most places. Chicken ceasar wrap was a little dry and bland but ingredients were good. Today was my first time at the Saw Mill Tavern. It was for a Holiday party. The staff was very professional and attentive. The food selection was amazing. The penne vodka alone will make you wanna smack yo Mama. The taps had a nice selection and the bartenders were excellent. There is plenty of parking. The music was good and you can also play darts. Full disclosure, I've never actually been to this establishment, so I can't speak to the ambiance or service... I found it on ubereats several months ago and we order probably once a week, so I've eaten the food on 20+ occasions. It has been very good every single time. The sliders are redonk! The Mac n cheese is super legit. Burgers and wings have been awesome every time. The fried chicken dish is solid, as is the meatloaf. I'm sure there are others we've had as well, but the point is everything has been delicious every time we've ordered. Seriously, we haven't gotten a bad dish from them. So..... Where to really begin. I guess I'll start with the decor-- very confusing. It's like a tavern and a Mexican restaurant gave birth to some weird, unwanted love child. The menu? 4 pieces of dirty, crumpled paper, held together by a metal clip in the corner. Bar: doesn't know how a standard pour works. I ask for a double neat, but receive 2-1oz shots in a glass. Beer- nothing exciting on tap when you expect something decent. The only reason why I'm giving the three stars is the bartender Tanya's sweet demeanor and personality as she tried her best to be as accommodating as possible. Food: under seasoned, sloppy plating. Items not matching the description, crappy plastic ramekins, slow service. Disappointed. My wife and I have been really excited to come try it out- def won't be returning. After reading prior reviews and responses for the owner, I get the shabby- chic. But that doesn't mean odd and misguided. Let's start with a menu that looks like a menu and not a 3rd grade handout. Looking for a place to grab a bite returning to Albany from Queens, the menu looked great. In fact, it was even better than expected. Many good choices for my hubby and me. We like to eat reasonably. Hubby is on Weight Watchers. It was amazing! I had the mussels appetizer with the special SMT sauce and a beet salad. I'd drive down just to eat that again. I live in ardsley and we really could use a great pub in town.... thought this was going to be it after new owners came in and renovated the old place..... which was horrible. Unfortunately after being there 3 times after reopening, most recently Saturday evening, sad to stay we still need one. The first time was the first week under new ownership and food was ok at best with slow service but chalked it up to just reopening. 2nd time was a couple months later and same experience. Went Saturday evening with 2 other couples for dinner and to see a local friends band play. There was a good crowd and our server was friendly and worked hard. However the kitchen and particularly the bar seemed overwhelmed. Getting drinks through the night was slow not due to the our server but bar seemed under staffed and had trouble keeping up. We ordered nachos with chicken to start which did come out quickly but came out cold. We didn't send back but probably should have as 5 out of the 6 of suffered from stomach discomfort during the night presumably from the nachos as we all had different entries. All of which were ok nothing special. Saturday was a great opportunity for this place to really attract local long term business but after speaking with a number of others there that night all agreed bar service was slow,food was ok not great. Suggestion - when having a band put on an additional bartender or 2. Maybe cut back on menu and focus on quality dishes and not quantity of variety. While might go back for a drink or two we all agreed we won't be eating there again. read more

I'm really not sure where all these negative reviews are coming from. I've been dining here since the place opened and have only had positive experiences. If you want good tavern or American food and draft beers this is the place to get it. I come up here from the city when I'm visiting family or friends and have never had any problems besides leaving with a very full and satisfied tummy. I typically order one of the burgers and it's always been juicy and delicious. The fries and meat have always been fresh and never soggy or frozen tasting. The place can get a little bit loud and crowded but that's better than being dead silent and not lively. I'm not sure who the servers are but there was one really amazing lady with blonde hair and a baseball cap that was super sweet and another younger girl, probably high school or college aged that was incredibly courteous, attentive, and even remembered my beer order from a month ago. Overall this is a really great place for food and drinks, fair priced, and they really pick great staff members who know what they're doing. You really get that at home, warm kind of feeling here that you just don't get at other taverns. read more
