One of the things that I miss most about Westchester is the Candlelight. Whenever I get the chance, I stop by at the OG for chicken wings in the NY metro area. They have updated the bar and the dining room. The wood is lighter. The bar doesn't smell like old beer any more. We get there at 11:30. By noon, there's already a long wait. Service is friendly. The chicken wings are a top three rendition. We always order ours crispy. They stopped serving celery on the side a while ago. As a purist, I bring a ziplock bag of celery sticks. I say raise the price of an order of wings by 50 cents and serve celery again! The waffle fries are great. They have a surprisingly diverse menu with a big selection of beers. There are desserts, but I have never been disciplined enough to save room. It's cash only. This is the platonic ideal of a burger and wing joint. Set the celery sticks free! read more

Large meaty wings and drummies, connected. Lots of sauce, to the point when you break them apart, there's a lot of splatter (I think I hit a kid with some sauce about two tables away). Service very good, prices comparable to other wing places. I asked my waiter how many pounds they sold on Super Bowl Sunday. He mentioned "between 18 and 19 thousand pounds!!!" Wow, double wow. Just more deliciousness! I stopped in for some soup, and wound up with a BLT and an open face Reuben. Wow, the Reuben didn't disappoint! The soup was delicious, always a nice variety here. I believe it was beef noodle. The BLT is always amazing, really crispy toast and a good amount of well done ,crisp bacon. It's always service with a smile, and the wait staff is awesome! Not too long of a wait after putting our name on the list. We ordered potato skins for an app. They were okay. Small, just cheese and bacon on them. 4 halves served. my husband and son had wings. They said the were very good. I ordered a steak wrap with cheddar and mushrooms. Mine came out about 10 minutes after their wings. My husband had to ask for it, since it didn't come out. VERY LITTLE Mushrooms. The steak was okay. A bit chewy. I asked for a side of BBQ sauce to give it more flavor. The servers were very nice. Bartender was a bit overwhelmed and cranky. The bar has outdoor dining as well as an upstairs dining. We waited 1 hr to be seated for a party of 8 N on top of that, once they gave us the table, they said they made a mistake, that the table was actually for another party and we had to wait an additional 30 mins to be seated There's no reservation ahead of time U have to physically come in and write your name and party size on a list hanging on the wall. So you don't know who's getting seated next since people can just squeeze their name anywhere on the list. There's no proper area for people to wait for their table So there's random people everywhere standing and also waiting outside. The drink I had was 10/10 supper strong The food was blah!!! The customer service personnel on the phone and the delivery were friendly and professional. The food came in cute takeout boxes and stacked on top of each other. This place is always busy and has a waitlist for a table every time so be prepared. Tip: ALL CASH and you need to write your own name on the table waitlist sheet attached to the wall when you first walk in on your left. The wings are a perfect 10/10. The fan favorite sauce is the hot/teriyaki mixed together. The ambiance is as casual as it gets with a family friendly atmosphere. A lot of families come to eat here and I see why. Growing up, when it comes to game day, Candlelight wings are a staple for every party. Every Super Bowl, this place always sells out of wings. Horrible customer service. My entire table received their meals, and mine never came out. I asked about it three separate times and was repeatedly told "it's on the way," but it never arrived. By the time everyone else finished eating, I asked our waiter again where my food was, and he responded, "you never got it". To make matters worse, the waiter never once checked on our table during the meal. I tried multiple times to get the attention of other staff, but they would look directly at me and then walk away as if I didn't exist. She was very rude and unprofessional when I got to the store; she was even being rude with coworkers, laughing at me like if something was funny because I was confused when she was talking to me on the phone like that . This was my first trip back since COVID. I grew up here and have fond memories of late night wings and cheese fries after school events. The place is just as great as it ever was. You can order bottles of Coke or Diet Coke vs. fountain drinks. CASH ONLY. Sign in when you get there to get a table and don't linger when you are done. Free up the table for others waiting in line and hang out at the bar if you want to chat after eating. They give generous pours at the bar. I had 10 extra hot wings and a custom 12 oz burger with sauteed onions, lettuce, tomato, and bacon, super rare. The burger was perfect, as was the bacon. The wings come whole, so if you order 10, you, technically, get five. You are given a fork and knife to split the wings. You are also given wet naps and a generous helping of napkins. Wings were meaty, crispy, well-sauced and temperature-hot. Given them a chance to cool down after you get them. The spice won't go away. I opted for ranch vs. blue cheese, but didn't use it anyway. If you wear contacts, eat with the hand that doesn't handle them. Next time, I will opt for Chernobyl. Extra hot has a kick, but didn't even turn my cheeks red and no eye tearing. This is a great local hangout, but parking is tough. The building on the south side is the original and I recommend sitting there. It's cramped and has limited seating, which really adds to the experience. They have three TVs running on sports channels in the dining area. Me and my friend went on a Wednesday at 5:30 and had to wait 20 minutes to sit in the dining room and eat. I cannot even imagine what this place must be like on a Friday or Saturday at seven. The mozzarella sticks and potato skins were yummy, the beer was cold..but between the new changes to the wings I used to love and remember..and the same annoying regulars that I remember from 5 years ago dominating and taking over the bar so I can't even get a seat..I think this icon is more about it's reputation and history then it is about its current delivery. This hurts me. Especially for my 100th review..mediocre wings and drunk regulars taking over the bar from 2pm to 5pm daily like they own it...im good..I'll keep going to Roosters and save the gas and annoyance. I love the energy, you know the food is good because there's always a wait but it's so worth it. My go to is the Hot/Garlic Parm wings extra crispy, we also ordered some Hot Teriyaki and the sauce was very nice. I never had their mozzarella sticks before but they were some of the best I've had in a long time, we ended up ordering more so that should tell you what you need to know. Food and service is great. Came to see what the hype was about with the wings. And it turns out it's not just hype. Wings are amazing! They have two buildings. One is for the take out orders and the other is a really charming dine in restaurant with a small bar. It gives a nice family restaurant vibe where everybody knows your name and they are always glad you came. Well, maybe not me. I have only been here twice and it was about six months as part but I digress. Staff is professional but casual and friendly. Word to the wise, it's a cash only establishment but don't panic if you don't have cash as there is an ATM on the premises. There is an outdoor seating area that is good for large groups in addition to a patio like area in the restaurant. I really do like the festive decor for the most wonderful time of the year.
