We stopped in here for lunch after doing an escape room around the corner. We were visiting from out of town. As cheese lovers the place was definitely intriguing. We were seated right away as it wasn't very busy. We began to look over the menu to decide what to get. Unfortunately it wasn't until they came to take our order that we were informed they were out of several items on the menu, including the Brussels. I know things happen but it's tough for a restaurant to be out of multiple menu items, especially on a Saturday afternoon. We placed our orders for things that were available. The grilled cheese was just ok. I certainly could have made better at home. It wasn't cooked evenly as parts were too well done and yet some of the cheese wasn't fully melted. It was a bit greasy and just didn't have the flavor (or the gooey yumminess) I expect from a grilled cheese. The sweet potato fries were okay but nothing special. The raspberry Mayo it came with though was just weird. Service wasn't terrible but wasn't great either. The experience was just ok and when going out we want more than that. It's always a good sign when EVERYTHING on the menu looks amazing and you have a tough time choosing what to get. That is the experience we had at Say Cheese! in West Reading, PA. Unapologetically indulgent, this cheese-centric restaurant offers American fare in a classy, piano piano bar setting. Their array of cheesey dishes are insanely delicious and flavorful. We ended up ordering the crab Mac, chicken Parm and rigatoni, and gnocchi. Everything was so damn good we wish we had more room in our stomachs to eat more! To say this restaurant is hit or miss is an understatement. We went once before and were underwhelmed but decided to give it another chance since its restaurant week. What was consistent is that the service was incredibly slow both times. Also, everyone in your party must order from the restaurant week menu. Leading us to order things we did not want. The poutine and French dip Mac n cheese were good, but I would not serve the chestnut chicken to my dogs. Bland, soft, and overall unimpressive. We've been here a couple of times but this is my first review. We went here on the Saturday night of the Ice n Spice festival in West Reading. Reservations weren't necessary but i always recommend them for times like this just so you have a guaranteed time. I had the croquet madame and my wife had the poutine burger. The croquet madame was good but the egg was over cooked. My wife's burger was overcooked as well and had very little gravy on it. Our server was nice which is usually the case. There is a good vibe in the place with music and people enjoying themselves but it's not too loud or obnoxious. My husband and I haven't been here since it was redone. We decided to try it for dinner. We were able to find parking on the side street. Upon entering we were greeted by the friendly hostess. We reserved "bar area" assuming maybe a table in the bar area, not the actual bar. However, we opted for the bar. The bartenders were not overly friendly and lacked a personality. I ordered the sangria which was good and my husband enjoyed his drinks. We started with the curds and loaded fries. The fries were excellent. The curds themselves were good but the marinara was served cold, which didn't make a great combo. The meals took a bit of time to come out. The chicken parm grilled cheese was good but it was a bit dry, which could have used more sauce that was flavorful. The salad was slightly wilted. Overall, it wasn't bad but I definitely miss the old menu. I just felt that while there were options, it was just a variation of the first item listed. The place itself is beautiful. I could definitely order an appetizer and have that serve as my meal. Both appetizers were delicious. I wasn't a fan of the Asian inspired sauce. It didn't pair well with the cheese. Now the aioli sauce, perfect with the cheese curd! I enjoyed the addition of the sundried tomato's on my small Cesar salad along with the fresh shaved Parmesan. The Honey Hot Fried Chicken Sandwich had a nice fry on the outside, still moist on the inside, and soft cushiony brioche bun. My only criticism is the smoke coming from the open kitchen. Usually we love coming here but today. No! The two bartenders were miserable. No personality, ill prepared for the fest weekend, inattentive, and overall, service start to finish took 2 hours. We could have been in and out. I hate not tipping at least 20%, but in this case, they didn't do their jobs and didn't earn their pay... disappointed. They had their private party room reserved with one long table and another long table outside the room in the actual restaurant. The manager and the staff were wonderful. We ordered off the menu. I had the *RASPBERRY CHICKEN SALAD ($16) Fresh raspberries, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, gorgonzola crumbles, asparagus, baby spinach, & white balsamic vinaigrette. I asked for dressing on the side. I added the 5oz grilled chicken (add on $4). As everyone's dishes were arriving they all looked great. My salad took longer because, according to the waitress, they added the dressing. My boyfriend and I ordered the same thing. He did add ($) avocado, chicken and salmon to his. When the salad arrived, it was very disappointing. (see pics). It looked like there was little to no thought while putting this simple salad together. The baby spinach was all clumped together like they grabbed a handful from a bag, the "crumbles" of gorgonzola were two big chunks, the raspberries looked squeezed. Overall, the restaurant was nice and clean, service was excellent, MY particular salad was poorly executed. Everyone else's dish looked very appetizing. I am here for the weekend. Today there was a street festival and instead of having something off the street stumbled into this cute place. Delicious food! I loved the tuna melt.. something so simple and yet the made it absolutely delicious!!! My child that is 7 is a very picky yet he loved the grilled cheese off the kids menu with fries and absolutely enjoyed the entire meal. You will definitely enjoy the hand cut fries and I also enjoyed the fried artichokes. Definitely give this place a try and just know that it's a pretty hearty portion. read more

We ordered two sandwiches: the Turkey BLT, which was very dry and bland, and the Bacon & Tomato Grilled Cheese. The bread on the latter was good but the sandwich as a whole needed either more cheese or a greater variety of cheeses. Upon asking for a drink refund, asking for an alternate delivery method, and attempting to find a solution via multiple methods, I was met with unprofessional attitude via both an employee and the shift manager. Working for retail for many years, and owning a business myself, I understand how door dash works, along with alternative delivery methods. After offering several solutions including the door dash help desk number from my own professional establishment, an Uber, a partial refund via them calling door dash themselves, I was spoken to in a rude, unprofessional manner. I finally reached my limit and asked for a full refund due to their unprofessionalism. The shift managers last words were "I've worked in food service for six years and we can't do anything, and we don't like the way you spoke to us, so you have the day you deserve!" I know you think you really are with that last comment, but honestly it was so unprofessional and distasteful, especially for an establishment as nice as Say Cheese. I had the daily special which was duck confit bánh mì sandwiches with sweet potato fries. It was a great portion size, and the food was very good. They have a nice beer, wine, and cocktail list as well. I'm looking forward to coming back to try the Mac and cheese.
