The best Italian in RB. On this visit we ordered take-out and were very impressed that the same quality and attention to detail we received in the past dining in was also given to to-go orders.   Sazio has done a nice job adapting to covid restrictions and curbside pickup. I called when I arrived and they promptly brought out my order, placed it in the car, and handed me the bill with a pen wrapped in a disinfectant wipe..Nice touch! The food was as delicious as we remembered from last summer. Large portions, fresh ingredients, and professional preparation, contributed to the overall enjoyment of our meals. We were seated promptly and our server was welcoming and enthusiastic. After putting our order in, it all went downhill... Our server forgot to place our drink orders so we ate our appetizer without them. She was nowhere to be found for a while. We asked the person bringing the appetizer and the next thing she did was to seat other people. Once you experience a mistake like that you'd expect the establishment to hover over you like bees, but no. Grilled octopus was extremely chewy and dry. Swordfish was overcooked. Most apps were seafood based and my girlfriend doesn't eat seafood so we're somewhat limited by the menu in that regard, however plenty of entree options. Happy Hour review. It goes from 5:00-6:30. Arrived at 5:30-ish on a rainy Monday, and we were the first to get a high-top for Happy Hour. We came for the food, so can't speak to the drinks, but since they are only discounted $1, it seems like Sazio is more into discounting the food instead of the drinks anyway. The two of us enjoyed 4 items: fried calamari, fried mozzarella, vegetable frito misto (fried vegetables), and fra diavolo pasta. Here's the scoop: The calamari was excellent. It's a smaller version of the full menu app, but was a good amount as a tapas. The dipping sauce was a "lemon pepper aioli", which I liked, but player 2 preferred the marinara that came with the mozzarella. Speaking of, the fried mozzarella is interesting: slightly larger logs than your typical bar food, and covered with seasoned breadcrumbs which I found a little overwhelming. Player 2 really liked them, dipped in the marinara that accompanied...had to ask for a second dish of sauce. See the dad/pro tip below. The veg frito misto was a little disappointing. I wasn't sure what it was, so I googled pics and saw some beautiful looking mini platters, so said let's do it. But what came out was a small bowl of fried veggies all mixed together. They were mostly mouth-burning cubes, except for the broccoli rabe, which was dried-out. Artichokes were advertised, but nowhere to be found (except I think one made it in with the calamari?). The fra diavolo was really good. It comes as a small soup bowl of gemelli, with a mildly spicy marinara, and a single large grilled shrimp. So we could've used a second shrimp, but overall it was a nice departure from the fried food. So here's my dad/pro tip: a bite of the mozzarella stick paired with a bite of the pasta made for a nice flavor combo, since it was like a shrimp and pasta Parmesan dish. Wow! Go here if you are in Rehoboth! If you can't snag a reservation, they do take walk ins. For appetizers, we got the 1 lb Kobe beef meatball - huge portion! Great for sharing. We got the small portion of the Caesar salad which was so tasty! And enough for 4 people. Also may I recommend the Tito's martini with provolone and sopressata olives! So yummy! For dinner, we got shrimp scampi, lobster crab diavolo, clams and linguini, and chicken parm. We recommend them all! Service was great and the atmosphere was lovely! Enjoyable atmosphere. Sam was a very attentive server. Specialty cocktails were absolutely incredible. New menu and new cocktails! I had the Shrimp Fra over Penna which I completed enjoyed. We came here for dinner sat 6/20/20. We wanted to sit outside on the covered porch it liked so appealing. We had drinks at the bar while waiting for our table. We had the mozzarella appetizer which seems to be identical to mozorella sti is you Seoul's get from a Ledos pizza. They were good we ate them but nothing spectacular. They were out of the Kobe beef meatball. We also had the caprese salad which was delicious I ordered The swordfish puttanesca and my girlfriend ordered the clams and linguine. They brought out and assorted veggie tray and dipping sauce before our meal. I asked for bread and they said they don't have bread. Hard to believe eating pasta at an Italian restereanunt amd there's no bread. To dip into the sauce. My girlfriend spent the night on the toilet I did not. I have never had anything that was not delicious here. I like that music is not blasting in my ear and you can hear the person you are dining with. Little expensive so I do not go as often as I would like. The focaccia bread and the Bellini stand out, could use maybe one extra vegetarian dish as my partner is and gets the cauliflower plate every time. I had not been to Sazio in a couple of years. Boy did it go downhill. The restaurant was crowded and the acoustics are terrible and the noise level made it pretty difficult to have a conversation. But worse than the noise was the food. The portions are enormous. Freakishly enormous. But the food is bad. We ordered crispy skin Branzino, chicken parm, eggplant parm and mozzarella sticks. There was no crispy skin at all on the Bronzino and so little chimichurri sauce it might as well have not been there. It was essentially an unseasoned piece of fish fillet. It came with broccoli that was badly undercooked. And potatoes that were OK. The other three dishes came with identical heavy fried coatings that completely overwhelmed what was inside the fried dough. All I could think of was, it's the Mama Leone's of Rehoboth Beach: huge portions of bad food. read more

Appetizers were delicious, ambience was good , but the entree wasn't . My wife has the carbonara and it was completely dry, my wife said something about it and they took it back to fix I guess and when she got it back it was like all they did was add water to it and then it was just downhill from there . I had the scallops dish and all I can eat from it was the scallops , the pasta/ risotto was not appetizing . I would like begin by saying I would come to this restaurant again. They have multiple dishes that I would love to try and the food is well seasoned and thoughtfully prepared. I had the salmon piccata. The salmon was delicious, some of the best salmon I have ever had in a restaurant. My only complaint is that they paired it with bucatini, which seemed heavy and chewy compared to the delicate salmon. My husband had the shrimp scampi. Nothing bad about, just was something you could easily make at home. Didn't really "wow" us. For dessert we had the fried Oreos. Again, they were fine but not something I would order again. Just didn't feel like a special dessert. The restaurant is decorated beautifully. They did a great job with everything - the lighting, space between tables, the color choices. I really enjoyed the feel of the restaurant. Finally, they were so understaffed when we were there for dinner but the staff did a great job of not showing their stress to the patrons. They worked together to make sure that the customers were well taken care of. In short, I would come here again and would recommend it to others. It is a great place for date night. read more

This place quickly became our favorite place in Rehoboth. Tonight we were quoted a one hour wait. Two hours and 20 minutes later we were offered a small table that didn't even fit us. The hostess was never nice and blamed the "people who won't leave." At the hostess stand they told us we really would fit in that table and then cancelled our wait list spot. It started out with high expectations. We've been there once before. The food had been great. The atmosphere was nice and comfortable and the service was pleasant, although a little snarky when asked about parking. PWe ordered drinks, appetizers and entrees. We didn't anticipate that we were now in a "sprint" to get us done and out the door. We were never told that there was a 90 minute limit at the table. The items were slow to be delivered to the table at the beginning, but accelerated once the appetizers came. At the 80 minute mark, we noticed someone hovering around the table-- we later learned this to be the manager. He didn't say anything. Ten minutes later, he comes back to tell us that times up!! We got a Big Fish Group gift card from Hotel Rehoboth and settled on this charming little house restaurant since it was just around the corner. SO HAPPY we did. We started off with the wild mushroom crostinis and the 1lb Kobe meatball. The meatball was juicy and the crostinis still had a nice crust with the creamy mushrooms on top. Followed that up with a bottle of champagne and our entrees were manicotti and the Sazio tortellini. That tortellini was a recommendation from our wonderful waitress (Samantha), and it did not disappoint. It was so creamy and rich in flavor. Had dinner here for the first time on 7/27/24. Ate inside; ambiance is pleasant but could use some updating to a slightly more contemporary feel. Outside porch is what you would expect. The service was very good and never felt we were on our own. (we were a party of 4ppl) Had the Crispy Calamari, Risotto Balls 1lb Kobe meatball. Props on the Risotto Balls and Kobe meatball....yum. The calamari had more of a "fishy" taste to what I enjoy but others seemed not to be bothered by it like myself. We had 1 chicken milanese, 1 eggplant parmesan and a chicken parmesan. The last entree was the Branzino...which they enjoyed. The biggest challenge was with the Parmesan/Milanese preparation; we all felt these entrees were precooked (not uncommon in restaurants) but the each of them were slightly burnt tasting and dry. I think it might be a combination of over cooking and possibly a situation with the oil being used. I ate most of my meal but was disappointed for the most part. Didn't stay for dessert as the burnt flavor kinda stayed with us and didn't want to add another flavor on top. All in all the apps were good but missed the mark on the entrees. Would I go back??? Yes, but would select different entrees and I do believe in giving restaurants a second try. With that said, someone mentioned to me they had the same issue with the entrees we had experienced. read more

We were very disappointed with Sazio's reservation and deposit system. When we made the reservation, we were required to pay a $50 fee to ensure we showed up and we were told that this would be deducted from our bill. At the conclusion of the meal, not only were we charged a $42 large party fee (we were 5) but our reservation fee was not applied to the bill. It took several minutes of figuring this out with the manager to resolve this . Very dishonest and had we not paid attention, we would have been out the $50. read more

Sazio was an incredible dining experience. The setting was bright and lively with the nicest servers you'll find in Rehoboth! The food was enjoyed by my entire party, with decent prices and a low wait time. In specific, the fried mozzarella was the largest I have ever seen with a cheese pull that could last a mile. I would also recommend the risotto balls and the tortelloni, some of the best I've ever had! The fish and chicken dishes were also very good. Fish was fresh. Great venue, parking can be tricky but once you're there there's great indoor and outdoor options to see and the mood is elegant. The service was great, timely and attentive no issues there! Now for the food, the pasta was EXCELLENT! Robust flavor and fresh and I wish I had gotten my own! The apps and drinks also great, would highly recommend the octopus! I ended up getting the NY Strip, and this is what brings this review down, it was cooked as requested, but this dish overall needs some attention in my opinion. There was something off, a little tougher than expected and came lathered in sauce, not ideal for $49 steak. Asparagus might need a little more cook time also. Overall give this place a go and I don't think you'll be disappointed! read more

Fantastic find. Food was impeccable and manager and staff - the best ever. We have a shellfish allergy and we were able to stay an entire meal and order food without incident. The manager Suzanne, her kitchen and wait staff handled it all with the upmost professionalism and care. Oh, the food? Incredible! Our favorites - lobster ravioli, seafood lasagna, the calamari, the ricotta cheesecake and the cannoli. We will make Sazio's a regular visit on our vacations to come! read more

I can't even get over how good this place was! We came for my birthday dinner over the July 4th weekend and the online reservation system didn't work and they were booked. Fortunately, we eat early and got to sit at the bar. Both bartenders were quick, and made amazing drinks. We couldn't get over the food, it was so good.
