My wife and I came here for our anniversary dinner as one of our first post-COVID-vaccination restaurants, and it was a near-flawless experience. Delicious (and strong!) cocktails, superb food, and a wonderful setting. They have an extensive wine list, but we're cocktail people so we zeroed in there, and everything we had was excellent. I'd particularly recommend the Italian Margarita (tequila mixed with walnut liqueur and amaretto instead of the usual orange liqueur) and the Just Like Mom Used To Make, a rich and slightly sweet take on an Old Fashioned that went great with dessert. The fried calamari were a great start, including a few fried artichoke hearts, which was a fun twist. Then my wife got the cioppino and I got the linguine & clams--she raved about hers, but I barely tried it because I was too busy with my delicious bowl of noodles and broth and a very generous portion of clams. Lastly, for dessert we split a very fine espresso cheesecake. Our server was great, very friendly but gave us plenty of time to linger over our appetizers and drinks when we asked for it. We ate on the patio, and it's far enough off Rehoboth Ave that the atmosphere was quiet, but there was still a little people-watching to do, which is always fun. My only minor complaints were that the oysters on the half shell were just good (compared to the rest of the food, which was great), and our table was squeezed in pretty tight on the patio. That said, I'm sure the demand for outdoor seating has been high during the pandemic, so it may not always be like that. Overall, an extremely positive experience and somewhere I'd be happy to come back to next time I'm in Rehoboth. read more

Nice setting. Kind service. But I ordered a change to an entree - instead of a wine sauce just Parmesan, garlic and olive oil-without the wine. All the ingredients of the original except wine. I received a plate of plain shrimp and pasta. Absolutely nothing on them. Perhaps I upset the chef? And they added an up- charge. read more

Dined there Thursday night. Very pleasant seating on porch but we had to go to the bar to take advantage of Happy Hour. As it turned out, Happy Hour amounted to $1 off each drink - a far cry from happy hours of yesteryear. in fairness, drinks were generous and good. Food was okay - not anything special. I noted the VERY small piece of trout on the market special, plumped up with too much farro and tiny pieces of vegetables. My friend's Buccatini (thick pasta noodles) was accompanied by very small pieces of beef. In other words, it looks like you are paying premium prices for a lot of starch and not much protein. During COVID, they were really understanding of folks who wanted to sit outside and did their best to accommodate. Overwhelmed by the great dining experience we had here. The atmosphere is casual and friendly -- neighborhoody, which is great for a busy beach town. The decor is crisp, current, clean, and has fantastic flow. Porch dining is a perfect fit to RB's classic porch lifestyle. The team cares. Every server, hostess, manager we met was professional and genuinely vested in our experience being a great one. For such a laid-back atmosphere to have this quality of commitment throughout the staff is a rare gem. Oh -- and the food! We had 7 at our table with apps, entrees, desserts, a full spectrum and every single item was delicious. What was out-of-this-world was the huge meatball-to-share app, the Kobe bolognese pasta, the tortellini zebra, and whatever slice of heaven they brought for dessert. This will be our new go-to. Sat outside...it was beautiful, a little hot so dress accordingly. Service was FAB. we had Ashley. She was attentive, informed, and super sweet. Appetizers: The garlic bread was to die for if your not a marinara girl that's totally fine it the bread is perfect as is. The grilled octopus was slightly over cooked, yet still amazing and the potatoes were perfect. The Cesar was classic, amazing, beautiful, I skipped on the anchovies. Entrées: The only bad experience for my girls and i was the pizza. It felt like they wanted to wow me with the sauce and it was just too much, not exactly what i crave when i'm looking for pizza. just had dinner with my wife @5pm, was the worst meal we ever had there and up to now we where frequent customers. i had clams and angelhair pasta the pasta was one ball all glued together never seen pasta look like that instead of having loose clams and in the shell clam just got 4 small shell clams, my wife got chicken parmigiana which was burnt to cris on the bottom, had a order of bruschetta bread was smeared with pesto that the menu didn't call for ( wife is allergic to) manager was apologetic but still had the gall to charge me for a glass of wine. Visited Sazio with my family of four this evening. Wow wow Wow... service was on point and the food was divine! BE ADVISED!!!!! The portions are very large and can easily be shared while leaving both people very well fed. I chose the chef's special for the evening - Pan seared Rockfish topped with a crab Chesapeake and drizzled with a lobster cream sauce. The dish included roasted asparagus and halved fingerling potatoes. The Rockfish was perfectly fork tender while the Crab Chesapeake w/ lobster cream sauce was a delicate flavor addition - not overpowering at all. 10 out of 10! My wife ordered the seafood lasagna. The portion was large enough for four people to share. The creamy flavor of this unique dish reminded me of a lobster pot pie without the veggies. I could go on and on about the things I loved.... Elements for improvement would be smaller portions, easier reservation system, and included a children's menu. read more

First time here and it won't be our last. We had 2 appetizers and both were enough to share. First was the 1 lb Kobe meatball-- very tasty and moist . It is served with San Marzano tomatoes and ricotta. Second app was the caprice salad-- 4 huge slices of tomato and 4 balls of fresh mozzarella. Next time there I would just order the 2 of them--both delicious. Dinner, wife had the scallops carbonara and I had the veal chop special. Both were outstanding. I cannot believe what happened to this place. Did they change the chef or something? ALL of the old amazing recipes are now changed and cheaper ingredients added in. Very disappointing meal. I ordered veal parmigiana and it was over fried to the point that the breading was charred. My daughter ordered mozzarella sticks and they were terrible. Morgan the waitress was nice but I don't believe that I would have taken either the mozzarella sticks or the veal out of the kitchen. I just love Sazio. I recommend it to everyone as the "Place to Go" when at the beach. The service is outstanding and the food is usually quite good. Unfortunately last night was really disappointing. My Veal Chop ($$$) was served to me almost raw in parts and the risotto underneath was obliterated by the Marsala and mushroom gravy which was wonderful. It's a shame that the risotto could not be enjoyed on its own! Perhaps plating instead of serving everything in a bowl would improve the dish. the Leominster dessert bar with vanilla ice cream had a soggy doughy base and ice cream with literal ice in it! This restaurant was incredible. My family and I made a reservation for a Thursday evening. We requested to be seated on their outdoor porch, which is lovely. The ceiling fans keep it cool in the summer. For drinks we ordered the Aperol Spritz, Sazio Manhattan, and the Ape Regina (similar to a bees knees and incredible). For food we had the Risotto Balls to share (yum), the chicken bucatini, Sazio tortellini, and the Prime 8oz Filet, all generous but reasonable portions. The food was impeccable, flavorful and unique. The Sazio porch is the Perfect spot for summer birthday celebration. Definitely recommend.

We sat at the bar to partake in happy hour. The bartenders were enjoyable to speak with and offered suggestions. We ordered the risotto balls which change on a routine basis so make sure you ask. We also ordered the charred octopus which was not very charred and was chewy. our neighbors at the bar also ordered it and it looked better and they said it was tender. we had the mushroom crostini which was good but a little light on mushrooms. Great choice for dinner during our Bachelorette Bash this past weekend. Came here with 9 girls on a Friday night and we had a good time eating some really delicious food. We made a reservation and were seated at a round table in the back corner of their dining room. We appreciated being at a circle table so that we could all see each other and talk. Service was definitely slow to start, we didn't have water on the table for a while and our server took a minute to come over and get started but that only lasted for a short amount of time and then she was fantastic. I liked their wines by the glass list; something for everyone and their cocktail menu sounded interesting too. I'm a boring drinker, not into cocktails so I stuck with bubbles and we got a bottle of champagne for the table. The server came over with CHILLED champagne flutes....what?! We all had the same reaction when she came over with them, super nice touch, never seen that before and we loved it. The experience only got better from this point forward. Instead of bread, they served us vegetables. Yes, vegetables. I was in my happy place. I love healthy food, love vegetables and do not eat bread. Never in my life have I seen a restaurant give out starter vegetables. It was amazing, carrots, asparagus and more with some delicious dipping sauce. I was loving every second. Some of the girls were like, where's the bread while I was like, now this is how every restaurant should be. We need less refined carbs in this world and more healthy choices. You go Sazio. I am gluten free, have been for years so I pretty much know what I can and cannot order off of a menu but this menu did not indicate what was gluten free. The menu did however mention at the bottom to alert the server of any allergies so at least there was that. Sometimes I hate being that person at the table who has to modify their order do to dietary restrictions and health concerns so I appreciate when the menu does the work for me and lets me know what's gluten free and what's not. Most of the appetizers I couldn't have, but we did order a nice spread for the table. Risotto balls, Neapolitan pizza, meatball and burrata. The girls enjoyed everything and the portions were large. The meatball was great for 4-5 people or more to grab a taste. The pizza had enough slices for the 8 girls to try, burrata was a good portion as well. I ordered a salad for myself, the simple greens which consisted of lettuce, artichokes, hearts of palm in a champagne vinaigrette. Anything with the word champagne in it really calls my name. Just kidding, but seriously. The salad was freaking fantastic. It was super simple but the combination of the artichokes, hearts of palm and dressing were perfection. And, the salad was enormous! I ordered a regular size and I could not finish it. I highly recommend this for a starter for anyone who wants to keep dinner on the lighter side. The entrees sounded mouth watering, although most of them off limits for me. Lobster ravioli, seafood lasagna, Bolognese, chicken parmesan, oh the list goes on and on. Everything sounded amazing, we were all having difficulty deciding. I absolutely loved that they had an option for grilled or broiled salmon, halibut, branzino and sea scallops. It was sort of a make your own dish and I really appreciated this menu option. I love going out to eat but having so many restrictions can make the experience awkward for me so it was really nice to sort of pick what I wanted with my meal. I ordered the broiled salmon and picked my two sides: charred Brussels and roasted asparagus. I found our server after placing the order and asked my dish to be without butter and no added salt. She was more than happy to make that modification for me, thanks Sazio kitchen! The dish indicated it also came with salsa verde. The entrees came out very shortly after the appetizers were cleared. The dishes looked fantastic. Mine tasted, incredible. The salmon was cooked perfectly, perfectly seasoned to my liking, the vegetables were delicious also. The salsa verde was phenomenal. There was another side dipping oil that I was raving about the entire meal. It had garlic, olive oil, sea salt, parsley and other spices I couldn't identify, it was out of this world. I dumped it on the salmon, the vegetables and even stuck my fork in it and ate it on its own. This was money. Maybe it was the sazio salsa verde, not sure but whatever it was, I loved it. I ordered a glass of super tuscan for dinner. Their 5 ounce pour reminded me that I definitely pour way way way more than a standard glass of wine when I am in my home. Gentlemen at a table nearby bought us girls a bottle of Champagne to celebrate the bride, which was so sweet so we enjoyed an additional round of drinks instead of dessert. While I like the restaurant I will never go back. I called 15x to make a reservation and always got a recording with no chance to leave a message. That's like getting a busy signal. It's absurd and disrespectful to its patrons and likely because they're too damn cheap to use Open table or too damn lazy to return phone calls. In a town known for food ranging to fast and greasy to fine dining this Italian spot on quiet lake street outshines most of them. You wont walk by it, as it's not on the main drag. And it's just as well - they are only open for dinner, and if you haven't made a reservation you're not getting in (as 5 of discovered the night before. I had a speciality prepared shrimp with linguine in a light garlic and olive oil sauce as mydairy allergy precluded me from ordering the red sauces. What was impressive is that the (owner? Manager?) Came to the table after our server after I mentioned the allergy with headphones and called to the chef to see what they could do special for me. My wife ordered pappardelle with asparagus off the vegetarian menu - yes they have a separate menu for vegetarians. Hell to the yeah!! There's a large group of us, 10 adults and 4 toddlers, visiting Rehoboth for the week. We decided to order in tonight because if we went out to dinner it would be chaos - remember I just said we had 4 toddlers! We ordered a bunch of different pastas, appetizers, sides and mains... basically the whole menu. Everything was awesome and we ate it all before we were able to take photos. Everyone is happy and full and still having the residual "yum..." noises coming out of them as we sit on the couch as the kids go down. I'd come back for SURE! Also -Suzanne who answered the phone was awesome and let us know that with our size order they wouldn't be able to be ready around 7:45 when we originally planned due to the busy hour at the restaurant. Suzanne kicked us out to seat another group at our table. We ate tonight at Sazio -- six people, a full meal with cocktails, appetizers, entrees, and desserts. After we signed the check, and left a nice tip, manager Suzanne Harkins came to our table, without warning, and told us to leave immediately so that she could seat another group at our table. She even admitted that they have a policy of a 90-minute maximum eating time per table, and falsely claimed that she had told us about this restriction in advance. That's not true. I wish she had told us in advance, because we would have chosen to eat elsewhere. A 90-minute policy? And a manager coming to your table to kick you out? No thanks. There are plenty of restaurants in Rehoboth Beach -- plenty of other dining choices. I'd recommend that you chose a place that treats their customers with respect. read more

We've been here many times, and in general the food is good. Just a note that I love pasta, so I tend to order that. I haven't eaten the fish or meat. The seafood lasagna is rich I could only eat half; I've ordered it twice, first time was better than the second time. I've eaten the shrimp fra diavolo and lobster ravioli several times, and they're been good. I recently ordered the tortellini and it was over cooked. I really like the good 'ol garlic bread (asked for pesto on the side to accommodate my LO). The mushroom crostini (large portion) was decent, but some of the bread can get soft from the mushrooms (it tastes good reheated in the toaster oven). The arancini are ok too. I think it depends on the special but I found it a bit underwhelming, maybe I'm expecting a wad of cheese in the middle? Anyways, the menu is varied and enough options for everyone, and if you come back again for something different. read more

My 2 friends and I had been attempting to get a reservation at Sazio. We were finally able to secure one a week in advance. We were aware of the hour and a half time limit because of COVID; however, the staff rushed us too much and were very overbearing. We were repeatedly asked by four different employees to take away half eaten plates. The staff would touch the plates and begin pulling them away before asking if we were finished with them. Most of the foods were okay, but the shrimp scampi was swimming in a thin "broth," it felt like miso soup. No sauce in sight. This was $28. To conclude the meal, we ended with the fried oreos. These were satisfactory. While in the middle of eating, the support staff lifted the plate with more than half of our ice cream left, along with some strawberries. We appreciate the attentive gesture, but PLEASE do not reach for/grab plates before asking if guests are finished. If you are looking for a great experience, Stingray across the street is amazing. read more

Omg this place is so good!!! It's kind of cramped inside but the food is amazing! Be prepared to wait! I mean you can't go wrong with chicken parm so I got that. It was a healthy portion of chicken with lots of cheese and sexy marinara ! I loved it! I was envious of my table partners who ordered the seafood lasagna, it looked so good and they said it was amazing. Big portions so you may not be able to finish your meal here. My friends shrimp scampi looked a little dry, seem like it could have used more sauce and not just a little pool of sauce on the bottom. Shrimp was good though I tried it.
