I dropped my wife's vehicle off because I THOUGHT I heard noises coming from the air conditioning compressor. Chris examined the vehicle and determined the noise (unfortunately) was NOT from the compressor, but from probably the transmission or flywheel. He had a recommendation for a local tranny shop who was 4.9 star rated, and that shop picked up the car from Chris and are evaluating it now. Chris charged me $0.00 for all of his effort. I recently had an issue with my 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee. When I started my car I had a variety of warning lights and errors pop up on my dash. I learned by blind spot monitor, air bag monitor, back up camera, and my air conditioner blower all were not working. I attempted to resolve the issue myself with some low level repairs, but I wasn't able to sort it out. I took the car to my normal mechanic who told me I had rodents who had chewed through several wires beneath my fuse box in the engine compartment. They referred me back to the dealership to fix the issue. My local dealership is Autonation who has always been problematic for me over the years with dishonest work and price gouging, so I searched for local businesses who do vehicle electrical work when I came across SC Auto Air. I met with Chris who was easy to interact with. Despite being busy, he agreed to look at the car within a few hours and diagnose the extent of my problem. I was bracing myself for an expensive repair because the electrical wire damage seemed extensive. Chris called me back and gave me an extremely reasonable price which was well below what I expected. I am beyond impressed with the service I received by SC Auto Air and specifically, Chris. I'm writing this review while sitting in their waiting room. My 2015 Honda CRV's AC blower went out completely. I brought it in and was greeted immediately. I expressed my concerns on what was happening and they immediately had a timeline for me. After they quickly diagnosed the issue, they jumped to work and again, provided me with a quick timeline. I have been researching pricing and of course what the worst case scenario could be prior to coming in. The pricing and service I received was incredible and honest. It was actually cheaper than anywhere else I had checked with. Experiences like this add comfort and ease when having to deal with annoyance issues like your AC completely dying. It's almost criminal that I've waited so long to post a review of this AMAZING, PERSONAL and SPECTACULAR community auto repair facility. I have been made to feel as the name of the place should be "Mark's Garage" and both Chris and Brent work for me, but that's just the beginning. From diagnosis to repair ? I have been treated as fairly as one could expect, we liken visits to auto repair just as we do the dentist or doctor, the beginning and diagnosis will be painful but exact, in the end ? Were fixed, and that is all that these two gentlemen are concerned about, is fixing the problem. After 28 years the ac in my 1994 Toyota Land Cruiser had completely given up the ghost. They essentially restored the ac system so that it works like the day it came from the factory. I went here on a referral from a friend, they seemed only interested in re-installing a whole new system to upgrade it from R12 to the current standard R134 at a cost of $2,000.00 ! Well, I had them recharge the freon and it worked for a while. I went to another shop and they advised when I am ready they can test it for leaks, convert it to R134, drain it, recharge it and fix almost any leak for under $500.00, they also advised if the leak is in the compressor that will add $275-$575 depending on what brand I want to use. They said the conversion to R134 is cheap and easy and since the whole system worked when it was last recharged it is doubtful I'll need another major. I'll update this when I get it fixed. All I can say is shop around before you drop $2k on an a/c for a car. read more

I have a 1971 classic car that I have been kicking around the plan to update the A/C compressor to a newer style more efficient compressor. I wanted to go to a shop that more or less dealt with A/C. Found S.C. Auto Air on the internet and went in to talk to Chris the owner. You have to understand that I am reluctant to leave this car out of my sight for fear of it being damaged. After talking with Chris I felt fairly comfortable with letting him work on it. Long story short they did a clean installation found and replaced a leaking hose that another shop had tested for leaks a few weeks prior and found no leaks. Chris is very low key and professional. My husband found SC Auto Air by chance when he was looking to have his truck's a/c repaired, and he was glad he did. Chris replaced the compressor. However about 2 weeks later, the a/c stopped working so my husband took it back to the shop. Chris found a defective wiring harness and replaced it. I had work done on my 2003 Explorer. I replaced my AC system myself and brought the car to Chris for evacuation & recharge. A few days later one of the not replaced hoses started leaking. A spoke to Chris about the problem and he offered to recover my freon and recharge the system after I replaced the leaking hose. I am a customer for life now.
