My house has lovable and unlovable quirks. Much like the family that inhabits it. One of them is that our kitchen is on our second floor, and within that kitchen is a preplanned refrigerator nook that only allows for refrigerators built with lesser sizing demands of the 1960s to fit inside its snug smug stupid archaic preapportioned space. So, when our 1960s refrigerator broke, we were never able to find a replacement with how big and wide fridges have become these days to satiate the modern diet. So, although we cook three meals a day, every time anybody wanted a glass of milk, a piece of garlic, a piece of cheese, or a sniff of kimchi we would have to shuttle all the way downstairs to where our once backup refrigerator held all these wonderful food items--in our garage. And come all the way up to cook it, and all the way back to bring it back down. This made for multiple annoying shuttlings up and down the stairs all day long and drove us insane. Though not insane enough to change it for 4 years.....until I sang REVOLT! Enter Scan Appliance Co. My friend referred me here and I spoke to a really charming young gentleman named Jeff who upon my call was able to immediately give me a simple run down of what he had in stock. I told him of my unlovable refrigerator nook and the shuttling, and said "I need a fridge that's smaller and narrower than normal, but with both a freezer and refrigerator." He replied with "OK I have a white or a silver that could fit your measurements." VOILA! After years of looking online at sears, walmart, costco etcetera and finding nothing, this wonderful refrigerator fairy godmother gives me exactly what I need and for WAY WAY WAY less than any of the chains quoted. I bought a used wash machine and it was 90-day grenade. That is, after the 90 day warranty was up, it "exploded"--the machine stopped working. The repair cost was more than the machine was worth. Prior to jeffs help, I had a family friend come take a look at it and said I needed a igniter because supposedly mines was broken. So I purchased one for $50 and yet again this friend broke the part, so when I went to make a second purchase at scan appliance company, Jeff offered to come and take a look at it himself. Within 10mins of taking a look he said it was a simple problem of the fuse needing to be replaced. Long story short I should've gone directly to Jeff because I wouldn't have wasted any of my time or money. She said her parents used to get their appliances from there - back in the day. Went on a Friday after work - picked out a "scratch & dent" YET brand spanking new Whirlpool fridge -- AT A GREAT DISCOUNT. They delivered it less than 2 hrs later. This company is a sham if i had the option of giving no stars I would. I purchade a sidebyside refrigerator from this company on March 22, 2015. They delivered it on March 28th, after a few days I started to notice lil baby roaches, the ice maker wasn't making any ice & after close inspection I saw that the ice maker was highly rusted and the refrigerator had not been cleaned. I called & complained they picked it up & gave me a temp refrigerator which that they did not verify was working before delivery. I left that day & returned later to find that the piece of crap wasn't working, the frozen food had defrosted into mush and the refrigerated items were warm. I had to throw away a little over $100 worth of food. When I asked how they were going to compensate me this fool said "ill give you a check for $30 to go some more food" Are you serious!! You bring roaches into my new place, cause me $100 worth of food & thento add insult to injury tells me you aren't liable! So I asked for a full refund( which this fool had the nerves to have an attitude about) & took my business to Vladimir's Appliances where i not only received excellent service but an actual working top of the line refurbished sidebyside with a freaking working icemaker, not roaches not rust & cleaned!! As of today I am still waiting for my $540 refund that was submitted on 4/1 to hit my account. Dont do business with scam appliances, go to Vladimir's i guarantee you will be a happier consumer!! read more

Our fire station here in Inglewood has to purchase our own washer and dryer and unfortunately with all the wear and tear that we give them, they sometimes break or malfunction. We researched different companies to price repairs and found SCAN to be very reasonable. They repaired our appliances in a very timely manner and hooked everything back up and in no time we were back in service! Ok if I could give this place a gazillion stars I would. We are moving and my husband promised that I could get new to me stainless steel appliances. (used). I came here on Saturday after visiting four other spots. LOVED LOVED LOVED how I was greeted at the door. They had the refrigerator I wanted at a VERY good price so I made my husband go back and get it today so no one would take it. He went and they delivered it.... then the saddest thing for me happened, it wouldn't fit through our freaking kitchen door... yes I cried, I soooooooooooooooooo loved that fridge. My husband called the place to tell them we had to return it and the guy took it back. My husband went back to the place and we found another one that I liked that wasn't my dream but it was close. They delivered it within the hour and in the rain... OMG that was so awesome AND they gave us back the difference between the prices. I contacted Scan Appliance Company in Inglewood, CA to repair my washing machine. They came out and removed my washer from my home to be serviced at their work shop. Upon returning my washer to my home, the lid was missing. I was told that they would check their work shop to see if the lid was left there and if not they would order a new one for me to replace it. After a few days of waiting and NO sign of my washer lid the manager "Jeff" said my washer was brought in with no lid and his driver removed the washer from my home without a lid on it. I then checked around my garage for the washer lid, knowing that the lid was not there but just to double check. I reached out to the company again to get this issue resolved. Jeff then stated that his driver did not bring the lid into the work shop, and also did not tell me that he would replace it if it was not found. He accused me of taking my washer apart and misplacing the lid. Stating that people remove parts all the time and then sale them for profit. In the end his suggestion was for me to buy a new or used lid from him. The customer service was very poor and I do not believe I should have to replace the lid to my washer for their mishandling. read more

I have an apartment building and have dealt with this company for years. In the beginning everything was wonderful and they seem to be real interested in solving the issues but; when you learn how to do repairs yourself, you come to discover the tricks they've pulled. For two years I had two different tenants complain about the freezer not freezing and ice build up due to condensation. The tech said "they are not closing the door all they was." He also said "they have too much stuff on the door." Come on. For two years two different tenants did not close the freezer door. I guess they would rather their food go bad. For two years this companies remedy to the condensation build up was spraying steam and clearing the ice. Yes; spray steam to clear the ice is necessary after you have properly fixed the problem. Recently in Oct 2015 I showed the tech the badly damaged freezer gasket and he had the nerve to tell me "that is not the problem." Any 5 year old could tell you that was exactly the problem seeing how bad it was. Because they drilled more wholes in the area where the freezer bracket goes, that also became a problem. There are supposed to be three screws and they had drilled 3 extra wholes creating a mess. Big Problem. The freezer door they used was not even the correct door for the refrigerator therefore every time I purchased a new original freezer door gasket, it was always too big and I couldn't understand why. I ended up calling Frigidaire gave them the serial number and they shipped me a new freezer door and gasket and now no more condensation and the freezer freezes like a charm. In other words, they decided to take a door from another freezer that looked the same and put it on our freezer. Another item. They wanted to charge me to bring in my washer in order to change the top load washer seal. I bought the spanner nut wrench, bought the spanner nut kit and changed everything myself all for about $130.00 and they wanted to charge $450.00. The seal they had placed on there about 7 years ago was placed on with a glue. The manufacture clear states not to use glue or any liquids and they did exactly that. Another item. The freezer in another unit wasn't freezing because the fan went out. The tech Mickey Moused a wire from in back of the refrigerator to inside the freezer and connected the fan and thermostat instead of using the manufactured electric port already there. I bought the original part and plugged it in to the manufactured electric port and everything started working great. After asking why he rigged the electric cord the way he did; he had no logical explanation. All three of these issues were fixed by me thus I discovered what a shameful job they were doing. Lastly; after removing the parts and taking pictures of the issues before I fixed them, I went and spoke to one of the brothers who owns the store. I explained EEEEEEVerything to him and stated that we would no longer do business with them ANYMORE because of the discoveries. You would of thought my statement would have been followed by an "I'm sorry or apology but; it was followed by a smirk that made me feel like punching him in the face and no apology or remorse. I am a property owner, not an appliance repair professional and when a non professional can see and discover a job that is shamefully done; It is definitely time to reconsider spending your hard earned money with these guys. ANYONE who considers doing business with this company should think twice because; they surely have a typo in the name. These guys named the company SCAN REFRIGERATION SERVICE but; what they really meant was SCAM REFRIGERATION SERVICE!!! Not at all happy with the money spent here. read more
